Tried Booting into recovery and selecting "wipe data and factory reset" but still the same problem.
Tried to fastboot boot .. but it says unknown command. I searched the web and found that I must first unlock bootloader (see this link)
But however my device is locked and I cannot even boot it to enable "Developer Mode" and "Enable OEM Unlock" options from settings.
Can you suggest what to do?
Do you have any updates?

Hi, I'm unable to boot into any recovery, as when i attempt to flash from fastboot USB, disconnect USB cable, select "reboot into recovery mode", my phone vibrates for a second, stock htc boot logo with red text along the bottom, but only for 1 second before going back to fastboot.
it looks like this:
experimental software build. do not distribute without permission from htc, or punishment will be implimented.

Hi,
Is there any way I can 100% reset my Desire 820? Locked bootloader, original firmware, reset everything? Can I send it in to HTC or do it manually? My phone says it has Android 6.0.1 update available but when I try to install the update it boots into bootloader and bootloader says, instead of "Fastboot", "!! Image Update FAIL !!".
It says the Software status is Modified and the Bootloader is relocked. Pressing "Reboot" boots back into Bootloader (in Fastboot), same with "Reboot Fastboot". Pressing "Factory Reset" does nothing; it boots back into Fastboot and doesn't actually reset. The only way to get it to launch is to take out the SD card, press "HBOOT", and then press "CHECK SMARTSD", which causes it to boot. The information at the top of my bootloader is as follows:
*** Software status: Modified ***
*** RELOCKED ***

I used this tutorial to attempt to root my phone - however, I had unfortunately updated my phone to Android 5.0.1, and I think this is for a different variant of the Desire 820. Mine is the Australian Dual-Sim Desire 820.
I return to my original question - is there any way that I can reset this phone 100%? Currently, pressing Recovery does nothing - it puts it back into Fastboot, and pressing it again does nothing. This is with the SD card out. With the SD card in, it won't even launch into HBOOT; it gives me an error: "Device halted due to Large Image update failed! Press <POWER> to reboot.". Can someone help? I've been trying to fix this for months and months.

Hello,
I had CM 13 installed on my One M9. Yesterday I wanted to go back to stock ROM from HTC. I downloaded adb and fastboot and went to " fastboot oem lock" with cmd. This was part of a "tutorial" after this i wanted to run the RUU from HTC. But now the phone is stuck in the bootloader. I can go into bootloader or download mode but recovery mode is broken. "Failed to boot to revovery mode"....
From there I can only go back to bootloader or download mode.
In bootloader it shows:
*** Software status: Modified ***
*** Relocked ***
*** S-ON***
In download mode it shows:
hTC download mode
*** RELOCKED ***

OS-3.35.111.14

But the main problem is that i can't connect the M9 to my PC to use fastboot or the RUU... The phone will not be recognized. Strange thing is that it loads while connecting to PC but the LED is not orange, it stays black. When the phone is turned off the LED is turning on orange again and the phone is loading and shows it..
It seems that there is no OS installed anymore on the phone?
If it helps I have an SD card.
Please help me to get an OS running on this phone again!
Actual HTC drivers are installed. Tried on USB 3 and USB 2 Ports.
Hi,

*** Software status: Modified***
***Locked***
***S-ON*****
***Security Warning****

REBOOT BOOTLOADER

The only option that works above is POWER DOWN.
I'm not sure if the hosd.img able to flash on s-on device but I can go to download mode again by flashing it
Hi all, I came across an issue with a bricked M9 and wanted to check if this indication of a nand failure, or would flashing an official RUU solve it? The issue is said to have happened with an auto shutdown after software update. Its now stuck in bootloader showing the following:
*** Software status: Official ***
*** LOCKED ***
*** S-ON ***
*** Security Warning ***
<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item
REBOOT
REBOOT TO BOOTLOADER
BOOT TO DOWNLOAD MODE
BOOT TO RECOVERY MODE
POWER DOWN
Thanks in advance!
It actually looks like the dead nand issue.
As long as you're able to enter the Download Mode you can try to fix the phone with a RUU. However, I wouldn't put my hopes too high if I were you.

Hello, I need help with my HTC E9x. When I open my phone, it is stuck in the boot loader screen. Then it restarts by itself.
I checked in youtube and found this link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j6ZUFkVNfM (Unlock Bootloader, Root, & Install TWRP on the HTC One [How-To])
But I noticed I don't have the options below:
fastboot
BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
Can you please help me how to fix this? Thank you very much!!!
