Hya,
mi MI 6 with MIUI Global 11.0.6 | Stable does not recognizes my internal network.
My home server is running DNSMASQ + DHCP, and the internal host name is the same as the external, pointed by dynDNS.
When outside home, it works well, but when on my internal network, it returns the external IP instead of the internal IP.
All other devices (iphone, notebook - windows and linux) works as expected, except my Android device, this MI 6.
Anyone aware about and how to solve it?
Thx in advance.

Hi,
Exist some Explorer of Isolated storage thats run without Zune or
Windows developers tools ?
Thanks for advice.
hi
you use a htc device, so you can install the htc root webserver xap.
read this post and try it. it's really simple to use.
you will have access to isolated storage, too.

Nice looking app, but If I can't connect to wifi how to connect to ISOLATED storage ? Works it also if I connect my device via microUSB cable to PC ?
Thanks.
hi
no at that time, it works only via wlan. you can put in the usb-cabel and a ip is showing up, but you can't connect to this ip.
steps to do:
open the webserver app on your device
in the app change the password in one of yours
connect to the showing ip adress in browser on your computer
type in username and password
have fun, the rest is self explanatory!

ok, if I cant connect to wifi the web server is for me
useless solution.
But I found out something else watch this: I got HD2
my microSD card is 8GB. There are 2 partition one is something 7.5 GB
and second this is important is FAT16 200MB.
I installed new FileBrowser and in this app I can see folder Storage Card
and I am able to copy files on this FAT16 partition without problem
and I can read it in card reader and oposite if I copy something in card reader
to FAT16 I can copy it from this "Storage Card" folder in device File Browser and copy it to device.
Shame that It works only on devices with Storage card.
Thats why I love my HD2, Igot WP 7.5 and microSD slot
Hello everyone,
I need help with a very peculiar problem that has popped up recently. Before, I was able to stream video files on my external hard drive connected to my Windows 7 PC, both through CIFS and SMB through ES File Explorer. Yesterday, I found that I can do neither! It is frustrating because all my shows are on the external hard drive. Here are the error messages I get through SMB and CIFS:
SMB: I generally like SMB better because it is less buggy and doesn’t require kernel support. Before, I could access the external HDD through my PC’s IP but now I cannot seem to connect to the external HDD or any folders I’ve shared that is on the external HDD. It is weird because I can connect to shared folders that are on the local HDD via SMB, just not the external HDD. When I try to connect to the external HDD an error message pops up saying “cannot connect” along with a list of possible reasons:
1. Wifi is off (it's not)
2. SMB server is out of network scope (??)
3. The IP is invalid (uhhh I can browse the IP)
4. Blocked by the firewall (maybe... how do I fix?)
5. SMB service is off (why would it be off for only external HDD?)
CIFS: This one is even weirder. When I try to mount it I get a “out of memory” error. WTF??? Again this error only occurs on external HDDs.
Let me know if you have any suggestions for fixing the android phone or maybe fixing something in Windows 7?
What kernel are you running? I can use ES File Explorer without an issue however I believe CIFS has to be in the kernel and I think most kernels do not include it. I don't know why since it would be handy. Certainly would for me. I've never found a definite answer to why CIFS is not cooked in with kernels.
If I recall correctly, CIFS support is implemented in the very latest Trinity kernel, Alpha56. You can check the Der Kernel thread in the Dev section for more info.
Hi XDAs !
I've been looking extensively on the web and these forums for a solution but could not come up with anything. If there's already a thread/solution and i missed it - just help me out with the link and I'll instantenously close this topic.
Preface: The folders of my mac and android are already synchronized via cloud (Dropsync & Boxcryptor). But this solution does not cover my requirement for speed - syncing a couple of GB takes ages which is not acceptable.
AirDrop and Cheetha only synchronize via WiFi which I want to avoid (unsecure netzworks and airdrop costs etc...)
So I figured out a workaround: enable the note 8 in mass storage mode and just use a mac based tool for the job. Unfortunately USB Mass storage enable does not work with the Note 8. Android File Transfer does not support automatical synchronization of any kind.
Is there a solution for my problem (may be MTP based)?
Thanks
Am i really the only one looking for that possibility?
has no one really tried to bring USB Mass Storage to the Note 8, yet? Except for the guys behind the app USB Mass Storage Enabler (which does not work for the Note 8).
Solution
Since no one here seems to have a solution I want to share mine.
Atm. there's just a workaround for USB Synchronization of Folders: setup a FTP.
1. Download the App FTPServer for Android (you have to install an ADB Server)
2. Utilize a program like GoodSync for the atual job

My Wifi is for good reasons on channel 13. Which is perfectly legal here. My H815 (root) refuses to connect to it unless it checks my location, based on what country my simcard (sic!) is from! Now my simcard seems to be broken, it won't be recognized by the phone. Or the LG G4 is broken :crying:
As annoying as this is, now I even miss my cell signal AND my wifi signal. You could force Android devices to search on all channels for Wifi. AFAIK this was done editing /data/data/com.android.providers/settings/databases/settings.db Maybe this works in 5.1 the same why, which is why I need to edit this settings.db.
I tweaked this db just perfectly on my Nexus 5 with the app SQLite Editor (Go check it out its great).
On my LG G4 when trying to access the settings.db I always get the error: "The database is currently locked by another process. Try again in a moment or two" By the way: Android-System locksettings.db shows the same behavior.
When I copy the settings.db to /data/data/com.android.providers/settings/ I will get the same error for the COPY of a database!
I need to copy it to my external SD Card and THEN I can access the database. A directory I created on my internal storage /sdcard/Internal is fine to. Now I can open that database. But I do not see the live information + the access rights of that copied settings.db look strange. No owner anymore. ( I use ES File Explorer) I am afraid to edit it and copy it back to:
/data/data/com.android.providers/settings/databases/settings.db
Any idea why I can not access my /data/data/com.android.providers/settings/databases/settings.db ?
Hi,
I had the WiFi Problem when I bought the LG G4 but didn't insert a SIM card.
My WiFi is on channel 13 but it didn't show up on the smartphone.
I contacted the LG support chat. They said I have to insert a SIM card.
When I inserted my German SIM card everything worked fine.
But then I switched on airplane mode and got the message again that not all WiFi network will be shown due to the unkown location.
I see that you are also German.
You can find my (German) solution on android-hilfe.de
Title: "LG G4 WLAN Fix - immer alle Kanäle"
Or here in english:
WiFi Fix - always all channels on 2.4 GHz

Did it work?
Just saw your post. It reads like a perfect solution! I will try. Dankeschön! [emoji106]

Bitteschön
Please confirm if it's working.
I testet it on V10c.
I finally upgraded from lollipop to N910VVRU2CPJ2. I used to be able to connect to my phone over wifi using FTP Server. That no longer works. I had similar issues with other phones and tried SSHDroid instead. When I try to connect as SFTP using Filezilla, it says "Received unexpected end-of-file from SFTP server." Is there something preventing connections like a firewall?
EDIT: Somehow, FTP is working now, but SFTP is still broke. BTW, the internal storage is "/sdcard" but doesn't show up in the directory listing for "/".
