I'm using the GCam version from here (NGCam 7.4), along with the Nik-1.5 config, dotfix v5.7, and "GCam Enable Aux All Device" v2.1, and Gcam still crashes when taking a picture with one camera, then switching to the other (main->aux or aux->main).
I can't really find any updated GCam info (that doesn't just point to that version), so I'm wondering if anyone's got a working GCam setup?
I'm on Resurrection Remix 8.6.3 Android 10, rooted with Magisk.
EDIT: It turns out that if I wait ~8 seconds or so after taking a photo, switching to the other camera doesn't crash it. So I'm guessing trying to switch during the background saving/processing of the image is what causes an issue.

I've read a lot about Camera2 API not being enabled/functional on custom Pie ROMs. Can it be enabled on stock Pie for A2 Lite? I'm currently on stock Oreo 8.1, and have held off upgrading due to lack of Xposed and GCam (I've gotten used to Night Sight for pics). Although I don't use Night Sight frequently, I like the ability and want to be able to keep using it on PIe if I upgrade. It also appears that Gravity Box is released for EdXposed, so that should fulfill my modding needs. Just want to be sure about Camera2 API before I take the leap.
Thanks!
Cam2API can indeed be enabled on Pie. But Gcams don't work. They keep trying to focus and you end up with blurry images most of the time. If you like Gcam, stay on Oreo, that's why I downgraded.

@marstonpear & @Zodui,
Based on what you say I may not upgrade. However, if the itch strikes, which version of Gcam would you recommend?
I know the "itch", but believe me you're gonna come back to Oreo again just for Gcam and you're gonna have some minor problems due to downgrading. Still if you insist, this one is optimized for our device so it has front cam working, back cam keeps focusing on Pie:

And this one for the (blurry because of focus, lol)NightSight shots:

@marstonpear
OK. You've convinced me to stay on Oreo!
UPDATE : You can use Urnyx05's gcam ports on Pie and the back camera focus is working properly, but you can't use front cam with HDR+. So you can install a Gcam 5 for the front camera and for the back you can use Urnyx's gcam. Cheers.
Is there a fully working version of gcam for notr 10+? I run into many errors and crashes when using gcam on this phone and I've tried MANY versions. Here are some of the crashes:
With "enable aux button" enabled, photos from the first lens cannot be saved.
With focus tracking on and then selecting the rear camera for video. The app freezes and closes.
There are many more but these are just a few. Is someone working on or is there a stable version for Note10+? The gcam photos are so much better than the stock samsung app.
After I flashed my phone with lineage os 16,I decided to download Google camera to hopefully get some better quality pictures,but after I installed PGMC_7.0.009_HDR_VERSION13, I tried to take a picture with hdr+, but it didn't save,the picture will save if I turn off hdr+. And then the next day I found out that it was using my secondary camera and not the main 12mp,I have tried multiple versions of gcam already and all of them are either using my secondary camera or just outright crashes(on gcam 7.0+),has anyone encountered this odd issue?
My redmi note 5 pro is the China version,with front 12mp camera.
Hi folks,
once i got my oneplus 9 pro phone I instantly flashed LineageOS 18.1 and installed the latest GCam .apk built by Greatness (the GCam by BSG doesn't switch to the ultrawide lens 0.6 !). From the beginning the focus of the camera seems not to work optimally. After I've pointed the area on the screen I want to be sharp, the focus of the camera "jumps", flutters respectively several times to adjust the sharpness and suddenly starts to jump again while I suggest the focus it already set and therefore I take blurry pictures often. For the stock camera disabling the "focus tracking" option should solve the problem. Is there any option for the GCam to fix the focus issue ? Are there options within the developer settings ? The focus is working much more better using e.g. Pixtica foto app (but the resolution of Pixtica is worse)....
Since I've played a lot with the GCam settings (even with the RAM patcher and the developer settings) I guess I've adjust something wrongly.... How can I reset GCam (App -> deleting cache and settings seems not to work) ?
Thanks in advance
Really no idea ? The issue still exists ....
I'm on lineageOS 18.1., and when I try to record any slow motion (120fps, 240fps) on GCam or open camera, the app crashes with a vague error (serious camera error,). I've tried updating the firmware. I've tried many different GCam builds and configuration profiles. I tried an unofficial 19.1 build. Nothing on lineageos seems to work for slow motion.
But I could record slow mo vids in April in open camera. I think the 4/24 update broke it. The changelog does show something about camera blobs was modified around that time https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_hotdogb/commits/lineage-18.1 ). Maybe I should try loading the firmware before the the feb 27 commit?
On crashing, the apps will leave behind files like " .pending_video_..." (i forget if that's open camera or gcam or both, but it doesn't seem important). . At 30 and 60fps it records/saves just fine. I've tried modifying resolution/quality/bitrate/etc. But I obviously haven't every combination. In some conditions I can get the GCam app to record "1/8x" videos which are actually just 30fps at regular speed. And sometimes I can get it to record at 30fps but then slowed down (So a 3 second video becomes 24 seconds, with 90 frames). I have a feeling those are errors within GCam that can easily be fixed once the crash is resolved. I think the crash is probably lower level.
So are there any gcam biulds that work with slow motion for the 7t? Or any custom roms that work better with the camera? Or is there a way I can download the lineage release from march, when it was working for me? If not, I guess I'll try to put the stock ROM on again, but that has its own difficulties.
EDIT: Well, I feel dumb. I thought I tried to the stock camera, but it must'vebeen a GCam rom I misread. The OOS camera works just fine, and that's good enough for me. Not sure how to delete a thread
