I have a smartphone with htc m9, s-off and unlocked, it reboots cyclically and red text comes out, adb sees but does not enter recovery, download mode and reboots again what to do?

Hey there. My One X seems dead.
My One X (international) will enter hboot on boot, and unless USB is disconnected it will be stuck on 'Checking SD card update...'. So when I disconnect my USB it will enter hboot, and from there I can also enter fastboot. However, when I reconnect USB and enter fastboot (or the other way around, it doesn't matter) fastboot freezes. It will un-freeze as soon as I disconnect the USB. ADB can't find my device, and neither can fastboot on my computer (running Linux), even though they both could in the past.
My One X is RELOCKED (as it displays at the top of the screen at hboot) and it also prints "Security Warning".

Unlock the bootloader, try to install a custom rom. See if that helps

Thanks. The problem however was that fastboot wasn't responding, and as such I couldn't do any over-USB stuff. The problem - somehow - seems to have fixed itself after leaving the phone inactive for a while.
Okey nice.....
Hi Guys,
My phone isn't rooted and I was just updating to the latest OS, it got to 83% then failed, it then launched in "Android Recovery" I tried to "Wipe data/factory reset" and it didn't help. Any help? I haven't even had this phone for a month. Currently I'm downloading the following the Unlocked/Developer update for the M8 from the HTC website, I have it plugged in via USB so hopefully I can just update it through this executable.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks,
Gareth

Detected by what? adb? Fastboot?
What is the current status of the phone? Screen turns on?
If the phone is stuck, such as on the HTC logo screen, try rebooting the phone by holding down power and vol up. Once the screen goes dark, let go of those button and only hold vol down. This should put you in bootloader. Select "Fastboot" with vol button, and confirm by pressing the power button. Then try the command: fastboot devices and see if your phone's ID number is returned in response.
If you can get fastboot to work, do: fastboot getvar all
Then post the getvar output so we can see (be sure to delete IMEI and serial number before posting the output).
Do you actually have the Developer's Edition?
Never rooted or modified (bootloader unlocked, s-off, etc.)?

No i did not try to root it.
It turned itself off and i could not turn it back on.
When i try to connect to it to a pc, it is not recognized.
You'll either need to send your device to HTC or to buy a new phone. It's the dead nand issue that you're facing (c.f. the FAQ of the ReadMe thread.)
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Labs
Hello,
my friend gave me his HTC Desire 816 to fix it. Phone originally boots up in fastboot mode, but very slow and unresponsive. To describe it, when I push the power button to turn it on, only after 30 seconds the androids on skateboard image shows up and it takes approx 20 secs to get in fastboot. Then again, it has laggy menu in fastboot and I tried to do factory reset but after hitting it, it only shows androids on skateboards again only for few seconds then just turns off.
Phone has bootloader locked and It canno't boot normally.
Please help me and my friend.
Thanks community, you are the best!
Bump!
Try the htcdev unlock process and see if it works.
If so you should be able to put twrp 3.1.0.0 on it.
You can also try to
fastboot boot recovery.img
Replace recovery.img with whatever the exact filename is for the a5 twrp
Hello everyone,
a friend of mine is having problem with his M9. He recently downloaded an update to the phone, but after restart the phone no longer boots, says 0% battery and would not charge (just keeps heating). After a while on the charger it tries to boot (white screen with HTC logo), but after like 20 seconds it reboots.
I can make it enter the "service menu" (or how is it called) - white screen saying "Software status - modified, LOCKED, S-ON" and some menu items (I would post a picture but the forum won't let me because I am new...)
the problem is that Recovery mode does not work, there is just black HTC logo in infinite reboot loop. Reboot to bootloader just reboots to the same menu. The download mode basically says "Failed to boot to download mode. This build is for development purposes only..."
If I plug the phone to PC, while the menu is present, I hear a sound that is was plugged to PC, but a second later it's unplugged, so I was unsuccessful trying to make some sense to it using ADB.
Can the phone be saved? Thanks for help
Whats annoying is that the phone keeps rebooting until it runs out of battery power, I haven't found a way to prevent it from rebooting. So-called "smartphone"...
I tried to update the firmware using RUU_HIMA_UL_N70_SENSE80_ATT_MR_NA_Gen_Unlock_4.23.617.1.exe, but it said I don't have sufficient battery charge. So I plan to use the Fastboot-battery-recharge.bat overnight to give it a charge.
The problem however is that the command
Code:
fastboot getvar battery-voltage
returns "battery-voltage: " without the voltage itself. Anyone experienced this? I am using the latest minimal ADB and fastboot (1.4.3)
BTW the phone is originally EE UK.
