I've been on an older version for a while but now even though I have auto-update turned off, whenever I switch to WiFi the update starts downloading.
Trying to pause it doesn't work as well since it just resumes by itself within seconds, the only way to stop it is to stay on 4G.
So my question is about the bugs, are they still there After the latest update?
Regards.

Hi,
Can anyone please verify whether their built in FM Radio randomly stops by itself after having it on for 40-50 mins plus? When I say 'stops' the radio broadcast stops, but the app itself is still on and at this point to get it back you have to turn the Radio app off and back on again. If you try to scan to another channel the screen just displays 'Scanning' but nothing ever happens and then I cannot even turn off the app - at this point you have to reboot the phone; even killing it from the task manager does not get it back.
I never had this prior the current software (1.29.401.11 - Stock ROM) but then again I am not sure if I did listen to the radio longer then 50 mins before....
Things I have tried are resetting the phone and also rooting and installing Android Revolutions but the problem is still there. I have now gone back to Stock ROM in case I need to send it back (however I did unlock the bootloader so might not even get HTC to honor the warranty at this stage and if that happens I am just going to sell it and get a GS3 - despite that I prefer HTC over Samsung).
So any replies will be of great help to decide how to move forward.
Thank you.
J
This is because of multitasking "feature" that HOX got from HTC. process is getting killed after some time, i got this same problem in my HOX.
Report it to tech support, so maybe they will fix it in next update.

Thanks for that - yup that seems about right - I did not realise the HTC multi-tasking feature would even come into play since the phone is plugged into a power source when the radio would cut off. I have now had it on continously for over 80 mins - how? Well, every so often I would go into the application so I guess the phone doesn't get a chance to see it as an idle process and kill it off!
I haven't noticed this feature doing the same with their music app so I am guessing they have some level of control over it - quite annoying that they don't treat the FM radio the same way as their music app...HTC quietly (not) so brilliant
I have tried to find the older 4.1.1 firmware on sammobile for my phone to revert back but so far no luck. Have these been pulled? Search only brings up the latest firmware under the "firmware" section. EDIT: Found the download, you have to manually pick your device from the list. This thread is only a rant at this point.
Problems with 4.1.2 on my phone include:
Battery life decreased by 20%
Touch screen is less sensitive
After going into sleep, wifi doesn't transmit data properly.
The wifi issue is especially annoying. After the phone wakes up and I pull up a browser it is stuck trying to load. I need to wait one minute until it times out, then it starts working again. Wifi is set to always stay awake. Didn't have this problem on 4.1.1. I'd almost rather risk sudden death than having to deal with these issues. I use(d) my Note 2 for work and now it has become a major nuisance to mess with the wifi every time I close the screen and wake up again. Really disappointed, factory reset did nothing to resolve any of the issues and on top of that I lost all my user data..
The latest update to Pandora is acting up badly for me. It starts failing by not updating the track info on the UI. Then it puts up a message stating that it's not responding and asking if you want to close it. Or other times it blacks out the screen and locks up the display. The Home button can bring back your display. But when ever you try to return to it your phone locks up again. You need to reboot to get out of it. I uninstalled it then installed this and it seems to be ok now. Of course I had to disable Auto Update in Play Store.
Does anybody know of an updated version that works or have any info about this?
This is the second time I have experienced this. While driving today using my phone for navigation all of the sudden the voice cuts. I look and the phone says powering off. It takes a few minutes and then reboots to a screen that says it is updating android and not to power off the phone. I kind of knew where I was going but if I did not I would have had to pull over the 15 minutes it took to do this and then check every app I have for lollipop compatibility after.
The update had been bugging me for a couple weeks to install it just like the previous update a couple months back. Each time I hit the home button to get around it without setting a time. Both times however my phone randomly started to auto-install the system update after I ignored it enough times.
Is there a way to prevent these auto forced updates once the OTA update has downloaded itself? Of all the android phones I have had none have ever auto updated the android version without asking permission first.
Am I the only one to experience this or am I doing something wrong?
I've checked around and have seen other phones with the issue, but I've tried the fixes like forgetting network and resetting network settings. Ever since mm, every time my phone screen shuts off, it disconnects from wifi, kind of. I will still be connected jn settings, but it says no Internet available. I have to reconnect every time, and then it will work until my screen goes off again. I feel like this is killing my data since I don't always notice it. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? I'm completely stock, no root or anything. Just did a factory reset a week ago and hoping I don't have to do it again since I'm finally set back up.
Have this issue with both wifi and mobile data. Mine doesnt matter whether the screens been off or not. Its like it goes to sleep periodically no matter what. Never had the issue until the latest update. Its not tied to a specific app, so its either the radio or a bug in the phone.
