Twrp - Google Pixel 3a XL Questions & Answers

I noticed that an update for twrp came out in June. Does anyone know if it is now compatible with Android 10?

Not in these devices, no.

Updating android version while rooted?

A few months ago when I got the update notification I chose not to update at the time and got rid of the update file. I have decided to update my android version (still stuck on 2.3.6) but how do I go about doing so? Also, can i leave my phone rooted and running the current rom+mod when I update my android version? If not - what do I do so that i can update without ruining my phone? Also would I be able to flash roms made for different android versions than the one I have?
Thanks for the help guys.

HTC 10 Verizon Oreo OTA or Backup Needed

I just bought a used sim unlocked HTC 10 Verizon off eBay yesterday, it was shipped with marshmallow firmware and I successfully managed to update it to the 7.0 nougat through htc sync manager, however after updating it to 7.0 sync manager shows that the phone is updated to the latest version and there aren't any further updates available, we all know that verizon released an 8.0 update as well for the htc 10. Also, I tried updating through OTA but whenever I press on check updates it says "Cannot connect, we had trouble checking for the system updates." Can anybody provide me with an SD card backup or anything so that I can update my phone to 8.0 officially without losing data? I just want to update it to 8.0 and nothing else, don't want to root it or anything. So far the device seems amazing.
Some information about my phone:
Model Number: HTC 6545LVW
Current Software Version: 2.41.605.36
EDIT: Please close this thread, I didn't know there is a separate category for HTC VERIZON. Posting it there.

Custom Rom, stay on official android 9 or upgrade to 10

Hi everyone, I woke up this morning with a unpleasant surprise, my a2lite updated to android 10 even when I had the developer option for automatic updates disabled, my model was the cursed one so I chose to stay on android 9 until there was a update without major issues, it is supposed that may update doesn’t brick phones but my device still suffered the problem of the first update so I had to switch partitions and wipe my data. I am worried that if I keep using android 9 it will happen again so here is the question.
What is the best custom rom out there? Should I still wait again on official android 9 with the possibility of it auto updating again? or should I try to update to official android 10, maybe with mi flash tool?

Question Downgrade to Android 11 on SM-F926U1?

I currently have an Unlocked Z Fold3 purchased directly through the Samsung US site.
Model: SM-F926U1
Baseband version: F926U1UEU1CVC5
I would like to downgrade to Android 11 to see if it resolves the no service issues with T Mobile the update caused. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Yes. Download android 11 package and use Odin

I thought I needed an unlocked bootloader for this? If its that easy is there a way to prevent getting the update to 12?
No, Odin flashes the Android firmware.
Unlocking the bootloader gives the ability to install TWRP, custom ROMs, and delve into the system folder easily. Odin flashes firmware. However, once you update a bootloader, you cannot roll that back...if I remember correctly.
was the bootloader updated in the Android 12 update? if it was that means flashing Android 12 really wouldn't change anything or may not even be possible?

Question Moto G30 ROM for Android 11

I have a Moto G30 (bought in Australia) that I'd like to downgrade from Android 12 to Android 11. I've tried using the LMSA tool, but that just reflashes on Android 12. I'm following the tutorial here: https://www.droidwin.com/downgrade-motorola-moto-g30-from-android-12-to-android-11/
When I come to download the ROM, I'm not sure which one I want. From the list (https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/motorola/caprip/official/RETAPAC/) I know it will be one with XT2129-2 as that's my phone model, and it will have 11 in it rather than 12 for the Android version. But that still leaves 4 choices:
XT2129-2_CAPRIP_RETAPAC_JPTW_11_RRCS31.Q1-3-68-1-3_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT2129-2-APEM2_CFC.xml.zip
XT2129-2_CAPRIP_RETAPAC_SA_11_RRCS31.Q1-3-68-4_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT2129-2-APEM-SAR_CFC.xml.zip
XT2129-2_CAPRIP_RETAPAC_TH_11_RRCS31.Q1-3-68-4_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT2129-2-APEM_CFC.xml.zip
XT2129-2_CAPRIP_RETAPAC_TW_11_RRCS31.Q1-3-68-4_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT2129-2-APEM2_CFC.xml.zip
Any ideas which I should pick? Or what the difference is between these?
just different updates, all the ones before S0RC or so, should be 11, all the RRCS ones are android 11 for sure, I'd pick the latest one of those, which would have the latest security patches
also, even for normal updates, I've only used LMSA to download the latest image, and then manually flashed it, I'm pretty sure LMSA will only download the latest version anyway, so unless you figure out how to manually override it, it won't downgrade
Thanks. Have managed to get the phone up and running with XT2129-2_CAPRIP_RETAPAC_SA_11_RRCS31.Q1-3-68-4_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT2129-2-APEM-SAR_CFC.
The only issue I face now is that Google Pay no longer works.. Although my phone isn't rooted, the bootloader was unlocked during the process of going back to Android 11. Is there a way I can get Google Pay back whilst staying on Android 11?
