FAQ about RMUI vendor & firmware
1. As of now which model of realme x2 support this vendor?
Ans. 1992EX model. Others will release soon™
2. I am using a custom vendor rom, how to use it then?
Ans. If you are in custom vendor rom you just need firmware not the vendor zip.
*Installation is simple clear cache and flash the zip*
3. How to use custom vendor then?
Ans. There will be 3 situation when you flashing a rom.
First you might be on realme ui and wants to flash a rom.
In that situation if you flashing a rom that's says "custom vendor included" for that you don't need that vendor zip. Just clear everything flash rom+gapps done.
Now suppose you want to flash a rom that says "stock vendor need or rmui vendor required" in that case you also don't need that vendor. Wipe everything excluding vendor flash rom+gapps and done
So when you need that vendor zip? In this third situation.
Let's assume you are in a rom that's custom vendor based and you want to flash a rom that's need rmui vendor, previously if you want to flash rmui vendor based roms you have to flash full rmui ozip file in oder to flash that rom, now you don't need that if you are in custom vendor rom.
*Installation is simple now if you are in custom want to switch stock vendor rom just wipe everything then flash vendor zip+rom+gapps and done boot into rmui vendor based rom without flashing full ozip.
4. So what about firmware zip?
Firmware zip for custom vendor users to stay updated from firmware side, because custom vendor also includes some vendor blobs from stock and that's that specific or newer firmware to work with. Like if you custom vendor blobs updated with c20 build's blobs you need to be in c20 build's firmware of realme ui. Vendor zip already included with firmware.
Now the most common questions
DO WE REALLY NEED THIS?
ANS. NOT REALLY BUT RECOMMEND ALREADY MENTIONED WHY ON 4TH QUESTION.
Last and most important question solved by Sukrut4778
ye melody itni chocolaty q hai?
Answer: Kyuki vo gu se bani hoti he
Conclusion: yes you need to flash those firmware. Vendor zip according to your needs what mentioned above.

First of all a huge thanks. We needed this. Specially us 1991 users, who feels kinda left out in the telegram groups (here as well, because you made 1992 first, lol). Even though I thought custom vendor roms are more convenient, everyone is moving to stock vendor now, so this thread was much needed. Btw, is @Sukrut4778 back ?

F.A.Q.
ROOT! ROOT! Give me root or i'll die!!! Where root is???
Root has been removed from LineageOS builds, to allow people who are not interested in root access to enjoy apps such as PokemonGo or banking apps. A zip to re-enable root will be provided here. Other packages such as SuperSu, magisk or others are not supported and may cause problems
Why no f2fs support?
F2fs does not support fbe (file-based encryption) which proved iteslf better than block-based encryption even on f2fs. Due to some android rescue features, an attemp to boot using an userdata partition using an unsupported filesystem may lead to an automatic attemp to format userdata partition (which includes sdcard) to the supported configuration.
Why no nightly this week?
Build failed. Check again in 7 days
Installation fails with error 7, what should I do?
Make sure your firmware is up to date. You can find zip flashable firmwares here
When do I have to wipe data?
You must wipe data only when you're switching from another rom.
Will you add <insert awesome feature here>?
I won't. Feel free to submit a commit to gerrit, where it will be reviewed.
The LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

What's the camera like on this? I'm assuming that's what a lot of people would want to know.
Someone mentioned in the unofficial thread that the stock camera should work. So i uploaded the apk extracted from 4.5.8.

Dude, with the greatest of respect - you come here with 25 posts, no pevious ROMs, nobody to verify this actually works and you want us to play guinea pig with our £1,400 phones? Can you post some screenshots or photos of your phone to show this actually works? Or, we're just going to have a really expensive paperweight...

Do you know what a nand erase does buddy? It erases:
boot
recovery
kernel
system
data
cache
.android_secure
sd-ext
datadata
wimax
efs
If people get this wrong then they're going to have a useless device. You have to show us that this actually works.

Okay, if you've proven that this works - why isnt your Knox tripped?
Also, please go back to the main page and read the rules. It clearly states you need screenshots of the ROM working on your device.
I know we all have busy lives and don't have time to go through a list of long winded rules, so here's a shortened version to make your life easier
Only the following topics are allowed in DEVELOPMENT area:
[DEV] - Development for any special projects or Apps
[ROM] - Custom ROMs
[KERNEL] - Custom Kernels (usually found in Original Development)
[MOD] - Hack & Modifications for the phone with code only, zips go in themes and apps
[FIX] - Fixes for known issues & bugs
[R&D] - Research & Development for Devs only, when gathering data for a new projects
[HOWTO] / [GUIDE] - How to instructions and Guides (Most of the time should be in General)
Note: If you are unsure where your new topic should go, then please post it to General
Please Include Screen Shots for ROM / MOD / THEME / Apps & Games, when possible as it's expected by our members
DEV Support for ROM / KERNEL / MOD / THEME must be provided within XDA thread posted by the Developer, otherwise it won't count as a Development, and in turn it'll be considered [INFO]rmation / [REF]erence and moved to General
Unmodified Stock ROM and Source Codes does not count as a DEVELOPMENT project unless it's part of an active project you have already started
Password must be provided for all password protected files
Direct download links preferred, due to stipulations stated in forum rule #11
Extra emphasis on rule #12
All ROM / MOD / DEV / etc... found in the DEV section not created by the DEV themselves does not qualify as a development and will be moved to General. It should be properly tagged as [INFO] or [REF], with links to the source website were it was found
Please keep all non Development relevant chatter off the DEV project topics, feel free to create a new topic in General for non Development comments about specific ROM / MOD / THEME / etc... valid replies within a DEV project are: BUG Reports, Problem, Troubleshooting Steps & Logs.
... and Please! keep all your personal bickering via PMs, do not pollute the forum with your personal indifferences.
If you have a problem with a specific member please contact the Moderators for help, that's what we're here for, but we are not babysitters, we are here to gather, organize and provide useful information for our over priced phones

After Android Oreo release Google implemented new infra to the smart phones which got released with Oreo out of the box
So here before giving proper explanation about vendor of what exactly you asked? first let me explain about project treble
When we flash something new rom on our phone in that zip we used to see 3 common files
1. System.img
2. Vendor.img
3. Boot.img
system.img ( this is just a image which contains all the files which is actually related Android apps , frameworks & priv apps and basic libs of that particular rom )
vendor.img ( after project treble implementation many OEMs like nokia , Motorola or Xiaomi
They always depends on vendor because here all the files like sensors, libs , modules , camera related and hardware related files will be present in vendor.img )
So after project treble implementation developers work is very easy now because if vendor is stable you can flash any rom
Like use this vendor and flash gsi , rom , or anything which supports project treble
Coming to boot.img ( this is just an image file which contains kernel & recovery )
For a/b phones recovery partition stores in boot.img
For a only phones having dedicated recovery partition
So here finally if you want to flash any Custom rom builds of mine or any gsi etc just flash this vendor so that stability of the rom which you are using will be perfect
Thank u for the explanation.. :good:

Good job. Current installed Rom on my device.
The file says "gapps" in its name, but the instructions say to download gapps - meaning that it would be a seperate installation. Does this ROM have baked-in Gapps? It's certainly large enough, I think.

Using BlissROM as a daily driver! Very stable, smooth, and low in temperatures! There are a couple of issues, however. For instance, certain QS icon customisation make the main icon (like the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth symbol) invisible against the white background. Another would be that certain options seem to do nothing. An example of this would be the FPS counter in the "Realme Settings" section. Another thinmg that I noticed is that the "Smooth 90 fps" option actually makes the display very choppy and slow. Besides that, everything is fine. Good job!

No more Android update?
I've been looking around for roms for this model and tried out a few but I noticed some roms aren't just where you can fastboot install the zip. some roms have a big file named payload in the zip so the usual fastboot install doesn't work. so my question is how do you install a rom with the payload in it? I switched from galaxy devices to the pixel so this is new to me

payload.bin is used in OTA updates (flashed using ADB).
Most ROMs have installation instructions so it's best to follow these. Most (if not all) custom Pixel ROMs require you to be on July Stock build and to wipe in recovery mode before flashing.
There are 2 ways to flash ROMs on Pixels: through fastboot or ADB side loading via recovery mode.

payload.bin is used in OTA updates (flashed using ADB).

I'm aware of the installation instructions the devs supply but only rom on xda I found was evolution and its been discontinued. the other roms I found were through telegram which Most do not supply instructions as far as I could see. I was looking into the hentai rom (strange name) or the sparkOS to try out but I'm stumped on the whole installation bit

You need to be very careful about installing full operating systems from unknown sources. You never know what is going to be hidden in there.
What you really should be doing is either compiling yourself from source, or using builds from well recognized suppliers with full source available, and with full REAL IDENTIFICATION available for those responsible for it. GrapheneOS, for example.

I came across the evolution rom here on xds to see it was discontinued but the thread lead me to find telegram that had numerous devs on it with the rom list for the pixel that included grapheneOS. I've noticed many devs here use telegram as well for roms and communications. I would think that in this case, it all seems legit

if you're looking for a custom ROM, I'd suggest you try Derpfest or Zephyrus. Both are listed in this forum and have great reviews. Installation instructions are provided for both (just flash via fastboot).
Every ROM available for Pixel 6 have installation instructions available. I've yet to see one without. There are more than 10 ROMs available. I suggest you join the telegram pixel 6 chat group and get some guidance there.

Hentai OS no instructions? In the channel or group, you can call for user guides then the bot will share a pdf. I'm using Hentai OS for few weeks now.
I'm now with bootloader locked since they also provide custom avb key to relock bootloader and still enjoying volte, vowifi in unsupported region). future update is yes through adb sideload while the phone in recovery mode
