Hi Guys,
I had a mishap with my desire hd..Water Damage..I have dried it out with the rice trick..
It comes on and everything is working..the screen is a bit blotchy but I can live with that..
The problem I have got is that phone will charge no problem. However once I disconnect charger the orange led stays on and the battery icon still shows as charging.I have tried different battery apps and they all say it is still charging even though it is not connected to charger.
Has anyone else had this problem..
Many Thanks
Dave
Did you try remove the battery while charging?
The battery seems to charge ok via usb lead...However when it is disconnected and I am using phone the battery icon still indicates as it is charging and the usb icon remains on the top as if it thinks that the phone is still charging and connected to usb...
could be something been damaged by the water
but have you tryed factory reset and see if it fix the problem ?
I have even tried different rom.All with the same result..I wonder could it possibly be the battery itself that is causing it..???I have ordered new battery just in case the water has damaged the battery in some way..Although it is fully charging it may be possibly causing the charge indicator to stay on ...
Just tried new battery.Still the same fault.....Any Ideas Folks....
A couple days ago it was working fine, however I noticed it gradually charged slower and slower to the point where, even when it's on the charging cradle, it loses charge. Now, whenever I put it on the charging cradle, the screen won't even turn on, and the device will not power up. The light on the bottom of the charger lights up, but the device receives no charge. I'm using the default Moto 360 connector cable, and I've even tried more powerful adapters, but still nothing. I decided to listen to any advice I might could get here before I call Motorola support.
my moto 360 is not turning on . can anyone troubleshoot this issue?
Mine got stuck in a discharge loop, was discharging on the charger, the charger was not recognizing the watch (charger light off).
The direct usb connection powered on the watch but did not charge it. No leaving it on/off the charger worked. It was dead.
The fix was to take it apart and unplug/replug the battery. It started charging normally afterwards. Now it won't stay closed, and the face keeps coming off, I press down on it from time to time and maybe I'll use some superglue

Couldn't we talk to Motorola about this? Shouldn't this be considered a manufacturers defect?
I talked to Motorola support, and after hours of phone calls, they said they would replace mine for free. But because the watch was in such high demand, I couldn't get a replacement watch for like 2 months. They seemed shocked that the device had stopped working, and it seems there aren't too many cases of this happening. I'd recommend calling Motorola support before doing anything drastic like taking apart the device.
I don't have warranty, so I can't call for help.
Mine got stuck while trying another Qi charger, so I guess only the charging chip got crazy, the watch worked normally until it drained the battery.
The charger has 2 modes: low power to signal the device it's on the charger then the device (be it phone or watch) should signal back to the charger it's present and the charger goes on the high power output to actually charge the device.
My watch had the charging chip blocked so it didn't signal back to the charger which remained in the low power state and did not provide enough power to charge the watch.
Factory reset and even USB reset did not reset the charging circuitry, only a hard reset by pulling out the battery did the trick.
By the way to take it apart it's not needed to remove the dreadded cracky plastic back, only hold by the strap and rock the case upward/left/right. Tough fingernails and a little help from a plastic wedge near the button and in the opposite side did it.
I'm having some problems with my wall charger or phone, the battery notification icon doesn't even change when i plug it in. Pluging to the computer works as expected, the icon changes to the charging icon.
I thought the charger was dead so i tried on a friend's zenphone 3, it seems normal on his phone, right on the lock screen it says it is charging (that doesn't happen on my moto z).
I turned off my phone and connected to the wall, the led turned on and it was charging, so it is not completely dead...
Turned the phone on and still no indication it was charging. So i opened the battery status and it says it is charging, it is VERY slow (still at 25% after many minutes) but it says there it is charging.
Unfortunately i couldn't try another charger yet. I haven't modded this phone in any way, still, could it be a software issue? It even got an OTA update yesterday but it didn't solve the problem.
Insert the pin in your device properly or it will charge slowly.
Hi,
Even after I fell into some water with my phone in my pocket (dumb, I know), after a day of drying out, the phone came back to life and seems to work fine - except.... it won't charge when the phone is turned on. If I leave the phone off, it charges. Turn it on (recovery mode or regular mode), and it won't charge. Anyone have any ideas if this is fixable? Should I replace the small PC board with the USB port on it? Or replace the phone?
Thanks!
I think the phone will not be replaced as it is water damaged
if my lg g7 has more than 5% and is charging turned off, it turns automatically on.
can I change it?
at the moment I actually need to charge it off.
briefing: I have a faulty charging dock but been using my wireless charger.
It started with that chronic slow charging problem, evolved to the "remove debris or humidity" and eventually it stopped charging.
since it was slow charging, i've tried cleaning it with several products. it never worked.
I believe the problem is not on the outer part of the port anymore.
Since yesterday, my phone gives me the "phone plugged on pc, select what to do" push notification while no cable is plugged in which in itself is not a problem... But it prevents the phone from charging when I place it on the wireless charger!
I first thought about somehow turning off the "phone plugged on pc" push note, but whenever I select an option and mark it as "always use this option" in just one or two seconds, the faulty port clicks again and the notification comes back.
second, I thought about turning it off to charge it but it just doesn't keep off if it has more than 5% battery.
Can anyone please help me to either:
change this "if battery has more than 5% and is charging, turn phone on" config
or
to keep it off while charging
thanks in advance!
