Thank you. I had to change the USB cable that came with the phone and that fixed it.
Even though the original cable still support fast charge and can charge the phone while connected to the computer, the computer did not detect my phone as being connected when using the original cable

i assume you are still able to charge your phone? do you have a custom rom installed? reinstall latest proper drivers. i would try a factory reset or a hard reset. if that does not work it may be a hardware issue.

any way to convert a stock kdz to a .bin file, maybe it can resolve my problem?
Nope,no way.
If you have a wireless network home, you can always use airdroid to transfer files to/from phone.

I had this issue, had to RMA it.
Most likely, the device is still covered by manufacturer's waranty, use it!
Have done this and they changed the usb port on the phone but that didnt solve the problem, after, the guy at the cellstore said me that because i have changed the rom they cannot send it again to lg...

Indeed, unless you can go back to stock... Which is kinda hard without USB :|
Anyway to return stock without usb?
do you have 32 or 64bit Windows?
tried another usb port and maybe another cable if you ain't using the stock LG OEM USB cable.
if it don't wanna get detected on your pc try a friends pc or laptop see if that work.
32 & 64, osx , ubuntu all tried with different pc and cable.

that sounds weird then because last time i had this problem it was the cable i used on my own pc it didn't work here, but it did on my dad's laptop.
it was when i found out that the original lg oem usb cable couldn't charge my phone anymore, but data works fine.
I went to a cellphone reparation shop, they tested it and tell me that it must be an hardware or firmware issus with the phone...

USB OTG cable not detected

I have been using my OTG cable for a couple of months now. I normally use it to connect my s3 to my usb speakers which worked flawlessly. One day I was listening to music using my usb speakers and suddenly it stops working. Ever since then, whenever I plug my OTG cable to any usb device, nothing happens. Any ideas on what may have happened and how may I resolve this issue?

First thing I would do is to try a different OTG usb cable or usb extension cable , or try the existing usb cable with a different phone.
The phone does not need to be the same make or model.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I've tried 2 different OTG cables with no luck. It's gotta be the phone because I plugged in my brother's Note II and audio was working fine with the usb speakers. Any other ideas?
Anybody else have this issue?
Anyone?
Well since it doesn't seem to be the cable, what I would do is do a full wipe and reflash ROM or do a restore with Odin

You can also try this:
Get a contact enhancing agent like Deoxit! or Cramolin and put a tiny dab on the contacts of the cable and insert and remove the cable in the USB socket. DO NOT FLOOD THE CONNECTOR! a tiny amount works better. On the Cramolin label says the less you use the better it works... that should help you get it working. Sometimes pocket lint gets in that connector and makes it hard to get working. A can of "canned Air" would not hurt using it in the contact area of both the plug and socket. It'd also help getting the fluids into the plug before reinserting into the socket.
Good luck
P.S.
you can get the stuff from ebay, and cramolin frrom ebay... Cramolin is or at least was cheaper, but I think Deoxit! works better.

Uninstall all the Samsung USB Drivers and Uninstall KIES if you have that installed then reboot the computer.
Then Install the newest Samsung USB drivers which can be found here: http://androidfilehost.com/?fid=22962010882834451
Be sure that the phone is unplugged from the computer when installing the new Samsung USB drivers.
After the new usb drivers are installed try the ODIN flash again.
It should work.

I just had this happen with my otg cable... was working just the other day, but now it no longer works in a nexus 10, nexus 7 (2013), GS3 or GS4. Any idea what could cause that?
If it doesn't work on any device, bad cable. Probably needs replacement.

Need a lot of help! ZF2 Z00A

I need help, my ZF2 suddenly cannot be detected by my windows 7 laptop and pc. When I tried to plug in usb 3 port, it wont get detected. If in usb 2/1 port, it will be detected but with the yellow exclamation mark. I tried updating mtp but it wont update (shows device is up to date). I tried reinstalling ROM and factory reset thru the ROM, but still not working.
I returned to stock but still it wont get detected on my pc or laptop. I ****ed everthing up when I returned to stock since I cant root it back anymore since it wont get detected by adb.
Evereything is up to date including 15sec adb installer 1.4.2 or 1.4.3 and intel usb driver 1.10 from 1.9.
I will try to reformat thru stock recovery and see if it will work. But before doing that, any suggestion or ideas?
Does it charge while connected to the laptop?
Have you tried using other micro USB cables?

Still usb device malfunction code 43. Thanks man
I had the same issues when my Zenfone's chip set fried - PC did not recognise the phone, phone did not recognise USB drives, fast charging not working. To be precise what happened: one day I plugged in the cable (original one, with original charger), the phone showed high temperature warning and shut down. Then after a while I turned it back on but USB wasn't working any more, except for the slow charging. Sent in for a warranty repair, it was stuck there for like 2 months before they sent me a new phone.
Had the same problem, it turned out that my zenfone 2's charging port and microphone had been damaged. Replaced the parts from a third party repair man as my warranty was void. He returned me a very well functioning and no more problematic zennie within a week
It surely isn't a software problem..
Hope it helped..

This has happened to me before.
Usually is fixed by one of 2 things.
1. Trying another USB port.
2. Turning off and restarting the computer.
If neither work, you might try re-installing the samsung usb driver.
Hope it works for you.

Did u ever fix this issue

Computer not recognizing phone

I'm having a weird issue with my Pixel 2 XL. I recently purchased Pixel 3 and used the adapter to transfer apps, etc from my Pixel 2 to the Pixel 3. It worked as intended.
However, after that happened, the Pixel 2 XL is not being recognized by my computer. I plug it in and it only charges and there's no notification to change usb mode. It also won't charge using the included charger that came with the phone.
My end goal is to unroot and relock bootloader so i can sell it but obviously I'm stuck. I've read it may be a USB 3.0 issue so I've ordered a 2.0 cable and it should be here in a couple days but looking for any suggestions. Below is what I've tried:
* Multiple computers and different cables
* USB debugging is on and default USB is set to file transfer.
* I've cleared media storage and external storage cache per Google product forums.

Your likely right. Getting a 2.0 USB A to USB C cable is probably the solution. Many have had this issue. Including myself. There's even been times when a cable that did work, didn't work the next day. Then a week latter, it will. Go figure! :fingers-crossed:

So I got in the new USB 2.0 cable and computer still doesn't recognize the phone. I updated drivers and that didn't work either. I also uninstalled drivers but seeing as the computer isn't recognizing phone, it's not installing drivers when the phone is plugged back in.
The phone works except there's an update pending but it won't install, which I'm assuming it's do to the fact the bootloader is unlocked.
Is there anyway to install March security update using just twrp and downloading files to my phone and see if that'll work?

Bummer man! You've got a stubborn one, or a bad port. You can download the OTA from here....
https://developers.google.com/android/ota
Then flash it in twrp. However, remember to flash twrp again after the update is finished, then let the phone boot up, then go back to twrp and flash root and custom kernel if you use one :good:
