CAN BUS adapter update and recovery mode - MTCD Android Head Units General

Hello
I'm PX5 stock Android 9.0 user.
I found on YANDEX disk https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr movie how to update CAN BUS adapter.
On my audio system PX5 Android 9.0 not works or can't to learn a some buttons.
So I looking for any solution.
My questions are:
1. To which version is the update? (My CAN BUS adapter is v2.28 and on the movie I have seen prop. v2.26.)
2. What requirements must be met to be able to update CAN BUS adapter? (root?, Hal9k's ROM?)
3. How to reach recovery mode with only "RST" button which works like MUTE (short press) or SWITCH OFF (long press)?

There is a video on the YANDEX disk that shows the CAN BUS adapter update. That's why I'm asking.

Be careful...nobody knows for which canbus is that published....i dont think manufacturer will supply canbus upgrades unless specific identified software failure could lead to returning back headunits

I figured out how to enter recovery mode.
I only have an RST button, no LED, no touch buttons.
Long press 15 sec RST, then release, next press 2x RST shortly.

3.5mm Klick Click Button

3.5mm Klick Click Button & USB OTG
Since I almost never use 3.5 port, this additional button nicely fits on my Nexus 5.
To control this little device, need to use KlicK. By using Tasker and Secure Settings I got functional second power button. However, I've no idea how to get exact power button, cause in my case I cannot press one to wake display and press again to turn it off.
It possible to use 1, 2, 3 click action and program them to any installed app.
Also, I got a nice small black USB OTG.
Battery draws just a little bit more by 7 hours sleep I spent 4% and usually for the same without it, drawing is about 3.5 hours per 1%.
Unfortunately, I found that in Skype sound is dispersing while this button is connected.
p.s. BTW, would be great to get the same idea for microusb, cause I almost do not use it too.
It would be a lot harder to get the same functionality over the USB port as it is not hard wired for this kind of things.
For extra buttons I'd recommend you Dimple or something similar.
Have a nice day!
The one you got is the cheap version of real one. Probably will end up with bugs and unsupported app.
My wife owns a xiaomi phone, she is Chinese, and I copied the Mikey app off of it. Then I did some digging and found a English version of the Mikey app at the this site:
http://en.miui.com/thread-18958-1-1.html
Wondering if anyone is willing to test it.....

As the site requires a username and pass to download, here is the latest English version of the Mikey app

How exactly did you get this working with the klick app? I have one, but there's no shortcut or tasker option I see on there.

It's very easy, while you made an action in tasker, you just need make an app via tasker, install it and direct those app for klick.

so far a nice button,
not sure yet how correctly make a wake up app for in.

also, found that if you just select "home" in klick app, it works like a power button when screen off and device is locked, that so cool.
no need anymore tricks with tasker.

that's been one of my profiles since the first day
1 click - home (power on)
2 clicks - starts endomondo (i cycle a lot)
3 clicks - starts camera
long click - quick settings
The "available on lock screen" option has a bit of a security issue, if you have a pattern lock and start the camera with the app you're able to view previous pics. Normally they're locked out if you have a pin/pattern lock.
Other than that this thing works great
Just wanted to say was on the Mahdi rom and was getting a google voice to text message so decided to try android L. Klick works much better on L then it did on that rom.
1 - home
2 - camera
long - flashlight
Works well (though the double click you have to time it a bit)

Daydream VR Experiences?

I'm looking to get my Hand on to a mobile VR experience. I tried a cheap cardboard variant which was, lets say not so great. I had the Note 4, but was unable to get my hands on a gear vr. Plus, that's expensive...
The Daydream Headset feels like a great middle ground. Not to expensive and well made. I know that, with magisk, we can get daydream VR to work on the 3T. Has anyone had some actual experience with this setup? I know 1080p isn't ideal, but for 70 bucks i'm not searching for a vive competitor. I'd just like to have some fun with 360 videos and those casual games google offers. Is this viable
DayDream VR does work with a simple Magisk module
I haven't got my hands on with any kind of vr headset, not even a google cardboard. Planning to get one in the near future.
But the OnePlus 3T is a lot more than capable for VR and it does support DayDream with a very minor tweaking procedure
Go to "Settings" -> "About Phone" -> enable developer options by tapping on the build number 7 times
Allow OEM Unlocking and Enable USB debugging (Also, make sure you've set up ADB and fastboot on your PC)
Shut Down the phone
Power On while hlding Volume Up key (Goes to Fastboot mode) -> fastboot oem unlock -> Select Yes using Volume Keys on phone and press power button
Boot into TWRP, Flash Magisk, Download Magisk Manager from Play Store -> Download and install "Daydream VR for OnePlus 3T"
Reboot
Download Daydream App and Daydream Keyboard from the PlayStore
You're set
Enjoy
Can someone confirm that Daydream is working with the Daydream View on the 3T with this method?
I couldn't get to work for more than a few seconds with the manual method that worked on the 3.

Hold on!
OnePlus is bringing DayDream Support
It's there in initial stages in the latest OOS open beta 3 for the 3T and Open Beta 12 for the 3

I've got a Google Daydream VR Headset and I use it every night on my One Plus 3T.
All I had to do was install a Magisk Module that makes and phone supported. It doesn't take long at all. I can link to the original thread if you like.
Could you please do that? It would be very appreciated - along with the rom version you're currently using.

Customize "MODE" key without rooting?

Hello everyone
Is there a way to change the list of Apps that units go through when pressing the "Mode" steering wheel key without rooting the device? (installing XPosed and so on)...
I've a Dasaita / HotAudio MTC-D PX5 device running Android 8 and I'd prefer not to root the device at this time (some issues with other apps that don't like rooted devices)
Thanks in advance
Max
No. UNLESS you modify the code to support for it.

Back button oversensitive on Android 9? (Video incl.)

Hello does anyone have the similar problem as I do it phone if defected?
Video link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rwBpSYvaCZKdcWmy7
Thank you in advance ???
I just tried it on my phone, same happens on my phone too, could be related to software and the input area of the keys. I don't think there is much to do about it for now but you can try using navigation apps on Google Play (e.g. Fluid NG)
YES!! This is the most annoying problem I've had with this phone. I'm constantly closing apps because of this. Back action shouldn't extend to the edge of the screen. It should be limited like on the other side (the recents side)

Is MirrorLink (in-car) possible with Galaxy Note 10+ 5G?

I wondered if MirrorLink was possible with the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G?
(This isn't the same as Android Auto which almost every Android device is capable of. MirrorLink is quite an exclusive feature)
The official Mirrorlink website is very slow to update and by the time it does Note 10 will be old news. So I'd like to know if it can do it now? Can anyone confirm if it does or doesn't?
Plus points for those who've actually done it.
Thank you!!

yes ,I have a note 10+ and mirrorlink works fine
I actually use ARU unrooted with it on a Microsoft wireless display adapter(mirrorlink)
Yep. Here's a screenshot from my Note 10+
Hi, I’ve been hunting all over the web hoping to see how I can mirror any app to my cars infotainment screen with a new Note 10+5g from Verizon. I’ve been using the iPhone jailbroken for a few years now so I’m behind on Android compared to back in the day when I was deep into Android adding roms or simply rooting my Android device. If I bought this new Note 10+5g from Verizon, I am hoping to stream a movie app to the car’s screen even while the car is moving for passengers to watch. The car has CarPlay and Android Auto and the screen also has a “projection” icon because it’s a Chevy. I stumbled upon this post and you sound like you know how to do this. Can you verify how I can go forward keeping in mind I will be buying the Verizon variant of the phone? I just need to be certain this is possible or the phone won’t work for my needs. Thanks in advance for any assistance at all. Would be very grateful. Also, just out of curiosity, do you happen to know if the Verizon variant can be rooted? I’ve found no easy answer because you never know if people are talking about the Exynos version in the development posts. Thank you so much for possibly answering.
Solution
Hey folks,
I'm new. Came in via Google for this very problem.
I've read the posts but saw nowhere a solution or remedy.
If there's any info available I just got the Note10+ 5gcand I kept saying to everyone. There's gotta be a way to mirror by now.... Etc etc
Anyhow if anyone could let me know how to do this that would be great.
Thank you,
Muntsy

no ,you need a Pioneer Radio with a hdmi imput and that supports appradio
use android auto and open it up so you can add other apps if you don't have that type of radio
the thread link I sent you will explain everything
and yes ,you don't need root

My Galaxy Note 10+ 5G used to work with mirrorlink, but when I upgraded to Androd 10, mirrorlink stopped working. Samsung were no use, saying that my car was the problem. In the end I downgraded the OS to Android 9 to get mirrorlink working again.
