And I can't seem to find a stock tmobile fastboot rom.. I guess there are none... I'm trying to figure out msmtool but I can't get into developer options to click adb debugging... any help would be appreciated

There is fastboot ROMs for stock rom
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-7t-t3979213
Try a factory reset, may help with that. Also you can boot to bootloader while in recovery. It has a option to reboot to bootloader to flash in fastboot
Just an update I got msm tool to work so my life is saved lol
I just did a warranty exchange do I have to wait 40 days for this on network?

I've got a mi 5s plus with a locked bootloader and i read that you can use the special cable and the qualcomm mode to flash a rom with miflash.
I've tried the global stable and china stable with both saying success in miflash. but when i go to start the phone it doesnt start on the first press. then on the second its stuck on the mi logo.
i think im able to get to fastboot/recovery mode but as my bootloader is locked i dont think that matters.
How are people flashing with miflash with a locked bootloader. I've tried so many times with the same outcome.
any help would be appreciated.
Anyone? The phone just seems stuck in EDL mode...... ive successfully flashed it over 15 times now but it wont start up.

I'm not aware of any special cables, the first thing is to unlock your bootloader, you can use this process (http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/unlocking-xiaomi-mi-5-bootloader-t3336243)
After that you can install any rom

Thanks I suppose this is the way I might have to do it. Is there a way to lock the bootloader after flashing so that Android Pay and my work apps still work?

I'm really sorry but I'm not using Android pay.
Hi,
Apparently, I'm misunderstanding something. I'm trying to root my 2XL. I have unlocked the phone successfully, I believe. I have the notification screen at bootup. When I get to the task of flashing a factory image, I get the Failed notification, "FAILED (remote: Flashing is not allowed for Critical Partitions)". This occurs after ... writing 'bootloader_b'.
I was able to get Magisk installed but only 14.0 and I don't have root.
I haven't rooted anything in over 5 years so most of this stuff is pretty foreign.
Any advice would be welcome.

Lord, you were fast.
Do I need to redo fastboot flashing unlock again before I flash the critical?
Also, my phone was on the latest 8.0.0. Would you recommend that I flash the new 8.1?

Unlock critical first then flash 8.1. Make a backup because this will wipe user data.
I am already unlocked and flashed 8.0 manually. I went to flash 8.1 today and got the OPs error. Are you saying that fastboot flashing unlock_critical will also wipe data? Damn that sucks if true.

Without details from you, we can't help you. For example, are you on the latest update? What else did you try? What worked for you and what didn't? Seriously, we can't read your mind. We can't see your phone. We can't perform miracles. It's a bit tiresome to have to ask you for things you should have already provided so we CAN help you.
Since you haven't given any details for anyone to go on, all I can tell you is that depending on the version of Android you are running, the "unlock critical" command may no longer be required, in which case you will get a message when executing the command.
I did not notice this was the forum dedicated to Pixel devices, sorry. I re-did my message in the Oneplus Nord dedicated forum regarding my issue that, however, seems to be the same as the one people encountered here.
Here is the link if anyone feels like helping me : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...itions-need-assistance-details-below.4274551/

You'll need to read about your own phone. This thread is about the Pixel 2 XL. Different manufacturers tend to have different ways to unlock the bootloader.
Also, people who follow this thread are unlikely to know about OnePlus. Find a OnePlus-thread to ask for help.
Hello guys I have H815 and I can't proceed with unlocking bootloader cause my phone cannot boot into bootloader/fastboot mode. I'm not newbie, but with this phone everything goes ****ing different than in instruction.

Hi,
I'm the same...
looking for solution I found this on Youtube:
Pratically, you have to press vol up while connect USB on PC....
I haven't the G4 with my today and so I cannot test if this is a valid mode...
If you do this, let me know if you can enter in fastboot mode

I did that and yeah it entered this mode but it's not valid bootloader/fastboot mode. It's some service mode to update firmware. Anyway it's not visible in pc as a normal fastboot and I cannot proceed further with unlocking bootloader...
Edit: it's download mode... So as I said it's not fastboot mode.
Anyone can help?
Seriously nobody? I thought this phone has good community and support...
I'm facing the exact same problem with my H810 on 6.0. Sick of not being able to root atleast.
Seriously hasn't anyone on earth found a way to boot this **** in fastboot? I mean there are a number of tutorials but everything goes different as F*** with this thing. Hope someone will update with good news. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Thanks yeah I checked but that's for ARB<=2 devices. I forgot to mention earlier this godforsaken thing is ARB3.
I have an H811 (T-Mo) running firmware H81120p, ARB3. Doesn't seem to be much that can be done with it as far as rooting. It also has no stock recovery, only boots to system.
you did follow this official guide right? it unlocked mine after a few angry moments
http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev
use minimal ADB https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Only way to boot twrp later is to use fastboot with ADB, recovery with buttons doesn't work.
if the device wont boot a rom use adb to get back in recovery.
if you use bank apps, install magisk before installing rom, do not get SU

Only problem is that the info linked to above applies to ONE G4 variant only - the H815 international model. The rest of us are SOL. The bootloader on US carrier G4 - AT&T, T-Mo, VzW, etc (most later firmware revisions for G3 as well) models has been nailed down. The only exception is a G4 with ARB <= 2 can be hacked with UsU in order to root it and install a custom recovery.

Tmo is very easy
Go to dev options and enable adb
Then run "adb reboot bootloader"
Once there, run "fastboot oem unlock" and voila, you have an officially unlocked bootloader with no restrictions related to UsU
Please be aware the above will factory reset your device

Do you know anyone who has done it with H81120o or later? I've seen posts for two yrs about doing it that way, but I don't remember reading about it being done on 20o or later.

Why v20o
Remember, this has nothing to do with UsU and therefore ARB etc doesn't matter
Edit: ps there are loads of H811 users in my Lineage thread and the other ROMs too

Got it. Guess that it makes sense. ARB prevents rolling back to earlier release than 20o, I'm ok. Will try the BL unlock today then.

I actually managed to get my LG V20 F800L into same situation after messing up my rooting process.
First i was stuck at logo and factory reset did nothing. Bootloader was working then.
Then i downloaded new firmware through "Download Mode", and after that i lost access to bootloader.
I know the phone model is different, but process seems to be very similar for all LG devices.
Trying to troubleshoot that atm, if i'll have results i'll post them here.
P.S. I know original poster long left (probably after throwing phone into a grinder), but maybe for someone with same problem as us in the future the info will be useful.

Ok, now i have to reply to my own post, since i believe i understand now something important:
LG phones usually dont have bootloader open to access. Until you use some exploits to do so.
I did not know that at the time of writing that reply.

I started all the proccess and when I tryied to select the rom i pressed the global stable one and it started downloading and installing the global developer rom. When it finished installing I started the device and when i selected the language the phone started rebooting and didnt stop doing that. then I trying to put an other rom to the phone and it didnt let me because i didnt have usb debugging enabled and i couldnt enable it because the device wasnt able to open further than the lock screen. I tryed unlocking the bootloader but me account wasnt linked with the device any more so it wasnt possible. I somebody help please. I am not able to use my device.

Ah but to change from China to global ROM or the other way requires unlocked boot loader...
Otherwise stuff like this happens.
The boot loader can be relocked again after the process.
Since the boot loader is locked there is less chance to solve the problem as you won't be able to flash twrp or use fastboot to flash firmware to the phone.
Another solution will be needed
That exactly happened to me.
I unbricked my phone with testpoint method.
It's easy procedure but you will have to open up your phone..
I Did it and never opened a phone before, its about open it and link 2 dots with a wire or something, and Then it goes to download mode and allows you to use mi flash and flash mi6. I recommend chinese developer rom (it will allow you to unlock bootloader afterwards)
Watch this russian guy do it, he makes it easy it took hours for me just search "mi6 testpoint" on YouTube
I got it fixed thank you guys

i have the same issue of not able to get into recovery but able to go into fastboot while trying to boot normally just gets stuck at logo phone is able to charge. Showed to a local repair shop who says its a power ic issue searched web where someone mentioned about issue w flash memory (this was for some samsung phone not sure if it applies to mi). I have no clue does anyone know how i can eliminate some of my doubs step by step?
1. I think it may be my power/volume button strip but i dont know how can i test thee device without the strip (i have some schematics) .
2. Maybe Rom issue and since bootloader is locked and no usb debugging enabled nor i can unlock it using official tool since it requires me to go to developer settings and link my mi account i cant flash anything (though i came across some posts claiming you can bypass edl authorization using 2017-18 flash tools and anti5 test i dont have a clue as to what to do).
3. due to recent conflicts i cannot access mi india forums and nor can download proper official stock rom( since its my relatives phone i dont know what version it was on )
4. the phone was dropped previously which cracked the glass but was in working condition for more than 3-4 months atleast .Cant find any trace of water damage inside.
5. got some schematics from web by searching here and there but i dont know how to troubleshoot lol.
Any help would be appreciated , i cannot trust local technicians as there have been past incidences of missing parts from device after they keep for a day and return next day(skeptical if there are some parts missing or replaced w defective ones ).
Will update if i get it working.
