I am sure this is not specific to the SGS3, but I swear this used to work with my S2.
My 2006 VW doesn't have an AUX input so I use one of the FM Transcievers. It works well.
But...I also use a bluetooth headset while driving.
What I want to happen is to be able to answer calls with my bluetooth headset. Right now while the FM thing is plugged into the headphone jack, the callers voice is sent over the headphone jack and on the stereo. It is as if my bluetooth headset is disabled while the headphone jack is used.
Is there any way to use the headphones to listen to music, but use the bluetooth headset for calls?
BTW, I am using PowerAmp.
Have you tried changing the order in which you connect the 2 devices. Try making sure you connect the transmitter before connecting the bluetooth headset. You may also need to edit the properties of the bluetooth headset and disable a2dp to prevent music from going to the headset. If all else fails, there should be a button during a call that you can use to switch between bluetooth, speakerphone, handset. Not ideal while driving, though.
One thing Android needs is a proper mixer control panel...

Actually the Headset button is lit up on the in call screen, as if the bluetooth headset is connected for the call. Unfortunately it is still routing through the headset/handset mic.
Hi all,
When i have a Bluetooth headset connected and a call is received, a tone sounds inside the headset AND my regular ringtone plays on the speaker. When I get an email or SMS the appropriate notification sounds play on BOTH the speaker and my headset.
OTOH, when I plug in a wired headset the speakers cut out and all is heard only through the headset.
Is there a way in the settings that I have have the speaker muted for all sounds whenever the BT is connected -- channeling all rings, notications, etc through the headset -- just like when a wired headset is plugged in?
Thanks!
For some reason whenever I try to listen to music and press the little button on My headset my optimus g won't detect that part of the headset. It only detects the headphone part. I've tried sound about but that didn't help.... I got this phone like last week.
I have a pair of Sony headphones with an in-built mic ,when attached to my phone the work as a headset . The issue with them is that usage has broke the mic. Now whenever I connect my headphones my mic gets switched to the headphone's mic which is broken. Is there a way root / no root which lets me reroute the mic to the default phone ones when I connect the headphones?
I am trying with the headphone jack or a USB-C adapter to the microphone and nothing works.
Thanks
Not sure what you're trying to do, but I have this mic (see first pic) and when I plug it into the phone's headphone jack I get this headset icon in the notification bar (see second pic). Using the built-in Record app I can see that the mic is definitely working when plugged into the phone. So as long as the mic you try to use is showing up as a headset it should work for you. Unless it's an issue with whatever app you're trying to use with the mic.
