Any way to block Youtube Ads on 7.X Nougat?

I see most custom ROMS have moved to 7.X which is awesome. But there currently isn't an Xposed module for Nougat yet (almost), thats been my main way to block Youtube ads and enable background Youtube playing. For that reason I've stuck to final build 6.X roms. But I was wondering if there was a way to do this on 7.X and what are people using to do so?Thank you.
I don't have already find an app with this two feature :/
But for AdAway (only if you have a rooted phone), you can try this mod by arter97 :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3449312
And for background playback you can try OGYoutube : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213945
I hope this can help you
Just install the newest version of Ad-Away to do it. If the app is not able to switch the hosts file you have to flash Ad-Away systemless root zip in TWRP. Works like a charm.

No need for zips anymore since the systemless function is already integrated into the latest version of Adaway (v3.2) and here's the thread so you can bookmark it.
The Og YouTube was having great a hard time downloading and had some issues. I tried the ater97 and that worked great. I'm so glad now to be able to block YouTube ads I thought you could only do that with exposed for the longest time which is very aggravating

Android System Update notice

Hello,
I have version D85130e installed on my phone and am rooted on the stock ROM. I received a System update notice this morning so i thought there was a new software version for the phone, but when I check on the T-mobile site for the LG G3, it says that D85130e is the latest version. (Cant post links because I am a new user).
I am confused, has anyone else received this update? I couldn't find anything about it. It is 133.0MB in size and says that it 'includes Android Security updates among other changes'.
I don't want to install it in case in breaks my root or worse. Does anyone here have any information about this?
Thank you!
received the update too

tho i was disappointed it wasn't a 7.0 update, but i'm installing it right now and i would love to know: what's new?
Its a April security update. I will make a flashable zip with it. If anyone wants to try it pm me and I will share the link when its uploaded.
Link to try it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72931940&postcount=98 Flash MagiskSU after flashing the zip.
from what I read yesterday, it's the D85130G update. https://goo.gl/ktuJMP
I don't want to chance unrooting my phone with this update. I'll wait till there is a rooted version to flash

You can flash the update from the zip above and then flash magisk. That worked for me, I have v30G and root access. Thanks to MESA for suggesting it.
edit: MESA already said this above.
Stable update by MESA. No need to think about losing root access as MAGISK does the trick perfectly.
Everything is stable so far after 2 days of usage. I'll continue to give updates as and when I detect something unusual.
@eadumensah: is your safetynet working with MAGISK?

Not anymore. It worked on V12 but stopped after I upgraded to v13. Let me know in case you get a solution to that.

After a lot of testing it seems to me that safetynet works fine until I install xposed. Furthermore, installing systemless xposed from the magisk repository results in failure to boot. If I install systemless xposed from the xposed materialdesign app I am able to boot and use xposed modules but my safetynet check fails. I'm using magisk v13.2, magisk manager v5.0.6, material xposed installer v3.0.1 and systemless xposed v87.0 sdk 23 by topjohnwu.
Edited to add versions.

I got rid of xposed and deleted the play store data. Got into the magisk hide option and checked the following
1. Google play store
2. Google services framework
This is to hide it from detection by google. You can try it without deleting xposed first and let's see the outcome.

Tried that but it did not work. If I enable magisk core only mode (which disables systemless xposed) then I can pass security check. The only other magisk module I have is unified hosts adblock and I very much doubt that that is causing the safetynet failure.
Interesting side note: I've deleted apps from /system/apps and /system/priv-app from TWRP and I've changed the DPI using texdroider and these changes don't seem to trip safetynet.

so you were able to get xposed to install and work correctly on 30G? Please confirm
whenever I tried, I could never boot up the device. If failing safetynet means that i can have xposed on 30G, I'm ready to upgrade from 30E

I did get xposed to work but don't download and install the framework from the magisk app - use the xposed material design app to download and install the framework. I'm not sure why the magisk supplied framework doesn't work - it caused me to get stuck at boot as well.

working adaway on mix 2

Can anyone recommend a working adaway app or zip for the mix 2, I've tried several and it's not working. I am rooted.
Just download it off fdroid. You're rooted right?

Yeah I did, but it's not working. I've tried using the module from magisk and even with that it's not working.
I'm using the Unified Hosts Adblock Magisk module (available in the app repository). I have the systemsless hosts option enabled in Magisk settings. Then I installed Unified Hosts Manager from the playstore to enable it. Not a ton of options. But seems to be working. That being said, I am on XenonHD. It seemed to work on Epic ROM as well. But I was only on it a day.
I have a whitelist to allow 2 Google urls that seem to drive Google Play Music crazy.
no problem here,watch your permission

I did notice a issue in the past on stock miui using magisk 15.2 adaway wasn't working. Latest version is working now.
Take DNS66 from fdroid ... no root needed!
Works perfect for me since months
For whatever reason Adaway has stopped working for me on the EU MIUI ROM, there's been 3 weekly releases since my current version but I'm waiting on the Oreo release to bother updating again. It did work on the version before this but I only realised due to this thread it wasn't - just gave me a black screen on loading the APK to update the hosts file.
I've since swapped to the magisk unified hosts module like above and it works perfectly - wish I'd not bothered with Adaway.
I have a Globe Rom installed.
My first try was with magisk and adaway did not function.
Second try using SU without magisk and adaway worked perfectly!
Adaway worked for me on xiaomi.eu 7.12.21 with magisk

Yup you can easily install YouTube vanced with microg without root. And you can also disable YouTube with the help of app or uninstall/debloat your mobile without root with the help of pc. For disable system app you can use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.learnpainless.disable_system_apps
And for debloating/uninstalling system app without root you can use this

Hope this will help you.
For install all is on vanced site.

Installing Magisk on Galaxy Tab S T700 Running LineageOS 17.1

I've searched XDA and tried all the suggestions, but I still can't get Magisk to open on my Tab S. It is rooted with Lineage 17.1. I downloaded Magisk V26.1, renamed it to a zip file and installed with TWRP. I uninstalled and installed 3 times and still no luck. I also cleared cache and storage. There is no hidden version of Magisk. Anything else I can try? Maybe an older version of Magisk? Should I try wiping Dalvik cache using TWRP and if so, before or after installing Magisk?
Thanks!
Tom
try magisk canary or magisk delta

As you say it's rooted already why do you need to install Magisk 26 again at all, the current version already is 26.2 btw.

Good question. I'm a noobie and thought that Magisk provided more features or capabilities. But maybe I've been wasting my time on something I don't need!

Thanks, but it looks like canary only supports 64 bit systems. What is the difference between delta and the official Magisk? And if my tablet is already rooted, do I even need Magisk?
You don't need the Magisk app any longer. But honestly, as long as it is rooted I simply wouldn't touch it anyway. Just leave as it is.
The newer Magisk version is rather suitable for Android 13 and younger. Doesn't need to bother you and for < A12.

Now I remember why I was trying to install Magisk I can't install Netflix from the play store (message says will not run on my device). But I found some comments here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...m-t705-sm-t800-sm-t800-sm-p600.4270943/page-6) who used Magisk to get it to run:

I installed magisk v23 via twrp (renamed apk to zip first),
rebooted, used magisk modules liboemcrypto disabler and magiskhide props config and rebooted, enabled magisk hide
installed netflix app via sideload and tick box in magisk to hide this app
went to netflix account to enable HD streaming for the device

I tried searching that thread for any more clues, but I can't get the "Search this thread" tool to work and didn't want to read 73 pages of posts. Anyway, do you know another way to get Netflix to work on LineageOS 17.1?
I've Netflix installed on my SM-T805 (LineageOS 18.1) without any Magisk modules. Runs fine.
Cheers
Toscha
Thanks again, Toscha. I wonder if it is because I only have LineageOS 17.1, the latest available for my T700. Do you remember if you downloaded it from apkmirror?
Actually I'm not sure. At least in the settings for Netflix app it says 'Installed from Play Store'. Not sure though whether it's the same for apps installed from APKmirror.
I did that a while just for test purpose. Not using Netflix actively on the tablet. And yes, it might have been from APKmirror.
Cheers
Toscha
I appreciate all your help, Toscha. I'll try some other versions....though I think the one I used should work on the T700 processor.
Much obliged!
Hey Toscha, just wanted to let you know I got it to work. I was using TWRP to install but all I needed to do was use APKmirror installer app! All is good now
Tom
Glad it worked finally!
Cheers
Toscha
