DOWNLOAD ROM
GAPPS: DOWNLOAD GAPPS
First time installing crDroid to your athene, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk.
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
KNOWN ISSUES
• Any app that depends on libc.so will crash. (Example: Brawl Stars)
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!

Which gapps package is recommended - 32 bit /64 bit?
This rom is quite good! It definitely is on par with havoc and perhaps it even surpasses it. Reliability is still questionable, but the features are there!

I clean flashed the latest version yesterday (clean flash: not only wiped but formatted all partitions: system, data, cache) and after setting basic things up I'm experiencing a strange effect: I'm using just one SIM card and after reboot I have to enter the PIN for that SIM and it is registering after a few seconds with the network. Everything seems okay so far - but after a few seconds it looses the network connection and I have either to reboot or sometimes turning on/off airplane mode is reviving the network. I checked the APN setting - all okay so far. Also network settings (4G/3G/2G) seem okay to me. The SIM card in another phone is working, as well the same SIM with either stock ROM or an older crDroid version is also okay - did I miss something? Are there different HW revisions of the phone (like modem version or such) i.e. global <> EU so I can't use this rom not at all?

Same here - I have two SIMs installed & enabled and lost network connection after a couple of minutes - and have not been able to connect again. I have previously used this phone and same SIMs, with other ROMs, to connect to networks ok.

I also tried various combinations of SIM cards in either slot - or both slots without success.
May I ask which HW version you have? I found my device to be a XT1642 (which is EMEA I think) and maybe it's just the wrong modem firmware (few years ago I had trouble with other devices and could solve it by flashing the proper modem firmware). AFAIK there are at least two more HW versions: XT1643 and XT1644 (maybe even more) which have been sold as "Moto G4 plus".
As soon as I find the time I will flash the stock firmware (which is working in my case) and check if I can extract the modem part from it just to see what happens - in all cases I do have root access so cross-flashing should be no issue
Update: crDroid does not contain modem firmware at all (only stock firmware is flashing modem) - and the installer says it's compatible with a lot of differnent devices (about a dozen XT16xx)
xt1642 is fine for me. I haven't made any calls but I never saw any disconnections.
My G4 Plus is an XT1642 (M1B89). Slot 1 has a Telstra (Australia) SIM and slot 2 an AT&T (USA) SIM in it. With this ROM the Telstra SIM connected once and has never reconnected to the network since. The slot 2 SIM appears to connect but I am unable to test that fully ($$$). I am also unable to turn off/deactivate either SIM.
I flashed firmware and EFS partitions from an old ArrowOS 9 backup that I know works, but that didn't help. So I then installed a backup I have of ArrowOS10 from the same dev (abandoned?) , and it works fine - connect/calling and SMS are ok.
Gentlemen,
now it's beginning to become curious: I was operating the phone with stock firmware for about two weeks (just needed an operational phone and not special features). Now I prepared to flash crDroid again and was preparing some things like: saving modem partition plus some more just in case they get lost.
I was putting crDroid and gapps on SD and cleaning all partitions (at least system and data) and all of a sudden both SIM slots are working (either SIM1 or SIM2 or even both) after flashing and setting up the phone? Even restoring my TItanium backed up apps was an easy piece of cake so I was up&running in less than 2 hrs
There is no reasonable explanation for that - except operating the phone with stock firmware a while would have corrected things?
In any case I'm now happy my good old G4 plus is operating a modern OS with all the features I expect (my other phone all have crDroid)

That might be the explanation: I was trying in the past with various "P"/"Q" roms - possible this has been a leftover. And flashing stock firmware (which is "O") solved that.
Yes, baseband Stockrom Oreo
Accent and dark theme in Crdroid settings has a bug. Screen goes black in bootup when changing different colors of accent. Its also occurs with dark and black theme.
This ROM is just great. Good performance, stable, nice battery life, looks, personalization. I tried several other Pie (such as Arrow arm and x64) roms but always ended coming back to Lineage and 7.1.2 due to bugs (mainly a bug that broke WhatsApp's audio messages), I'm using it as my daily driver without an issue. Thanks crDroid team!

GPS Fix
In order to fix GPS, replace the GPS.conf file in /system/etc folder, and set the permissions to -RW--R--R, and restart the phone. File is attached, remove .txt from the filename before replacing. I've tested on my phone, running this R and YGPS shows the correct GPS lock.
Happy testing..

It happens if you clean install the ROM, meaning wiping the data as well. In order to fix this, format everything except External SD Card using TWRP, and install Resurrection Remix ROM build date 20161119, boot the phone and then go to recovery after successful boot. Now, only wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache and System, do not wipe data. Install the ROM and gapps and clear cache and Dalvik. That's it. You'll no longer notice the signal drops.
Note : I chose 20161119 RR build because I have noticed that the signal quality is way better than any other custom ROM build.
Happy testing.

Thank you so much
dirty flash didn't work for me so i flashed the rom cleanly. magisk and EdXposed work so well. the default wallpaper picker is limiting me from cropping an image the way i want to so i used wallpaper picker from GApps, battery life is as good as the oreo rom you just released recently. navigation bar menu wasn't found in the setting although i can search it and it shows where it is. currently running gravitybox and greenify on EdXposed and redmi note 2 tool to optimize my battery life. instagram still stutters every time a video and or a live feed is being played
update :
instagram stutter issue is not as bad as the one in the LOS 15.1, battery life is slightly worse than LOS 15.1's, substratum doesn't work as good as in the LOS 15.1
OMG... this phone still alive !! amazing, good work !!
The phone got a new life! Thank you!
But there is a serious problem - it is impossible to connect to a hidden wifi access point. In advanced settings support for a hidden access point is on.
if make AP visible SSID then phone may connected, but if make AP hidden SSID then phone not see this AP and not connect even if AP name was saved!
WiFi Analyzer application installed on this phone shows hidden APs without SSID.
I had this problem and with lineage-15.1-20200422 firmware too.
Please fix this problem! I need it very much!
Random reboot on my hermes
Hi friend, is possible to fix it.
want to share my experience using this rom.
previously i was using miuipro so more or less i compare these 2 roms.
PROS:
1 pretty good battery life
2 better performance
3 it's lighter
4 better than lollipop
CONS:
1 it reboots randomly (more than 10 times in a day)
2 the sim cards sometimes not detected, when detected the signal have X mark sign
3 confusing settings menu for me
4 not support non-mainstream icon app in status bar
5 can't play media (music, YouTube) from BT speaker
after all really appreciate your work
thanks
For random reboot i tested to suitch in development option the android system web view, for now no random reboot, continue the test.

it's still in beta so we may experience some bugs along the way. you might wanna try the more stable LOS 15.1 released by him as well last month. it has better battery life and it's easier to install magisk and xposed in that very rom. though i like how substratum works in this LOS 16, i still have better experience overall in LOS 15.1 as it's more stable and the only bug i encountered was some stuttering on instagram in both vanilla and modded app. i don't really use it though, so it's not a big of a deal for me
Problem with audio recording in WhatsApp, audio some time distorted

Thank you so much for reviving my secondary phone.
I was searching and waiting for updates and now it is there! All problems with auto rebooting is easy to fix. Just flash kernel in thread bellow and ROM will run normally. I hope updates will rollout in future .

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

Great, for me the first Andorid 10 Rom on Marmite where fingerprint is working. Looks like all key features are working also. Only one Problem I have found: Mobile Data is not automatically connecting if LTE mode is chosen, only GSM/WCDMA (auto connect) will get a reliable connection which survives a reboot. If I then switch to LTE-mode it works until next reboot. Then I have to switch back to 3G again to get a connection. I'm located in Germany if this matters to LTE-frequencies. Any hints on that?
Besides this point: great work.

I had a very similar problem with early versions of the ROM. For me these problems completely went away in the latest version and it's stable for me now. Did you do a clean flash of the ROM from the 11th of December (the latest version)?
Another thing you could check is if you have the latest modem version, which you can find here:
Settings -> About phone -> Android version -> Baseband version
If it says "937_GENNS_PACK-1.83666.1.89031.1" then you have the latest version, otherwise you could update it and see if it solves the problem.
Hi, thanks for you answer.
Modem-Version is as you stated. I have wiped Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage before installing this rom. The only one I did not wipe is "Vendor", didn't know if it is save to kill it also. Could this be the reason?

I wasn't sure about the "Vendor" partition too, so I didn't erase it, just to be safe. That probably doesn't cause it then. Hopefully someone else has any idea what the cause of the problem could be.
Some more test later, I'm a bit wiser..
I managed to delete vendor and flashed the image again -> same problems.
I tried Pixel Experience from this thread -> same problems.
Unitl now I have tried only my own two SIM-Cars from Deutsche Telekom.
Now I put in my daughters SIM from another provider -> No Problems
Edit: No problems with D2 and O2, only with D1 (all german providers) I had the connection problem; will use another card...
Hi I'm new to this forum.
I'm having similar problems as tiger-tw on a swift 2 x with EE in the UK. Except I'm just getting phone signal but no data at all regardless. I tried changing modes but this will still not get me any data. Choosing LTE gets me no phone signal at all as well as data.
I can confirm I'm also on the latest modem version.
I will try borrow a SIM card to see if it has problems on another network.
Edit - Having tried a Vodafone SIM same problems. Calls won't go through with either SIM despite having signal and the correct network showing.
2nd Edit - Have now tried this ROM on a swift 2 + and everything is working fine with my SIM, so problems only appear to be occurring on Swift 2 x.
3rd Edit - So on a complete wipe and re-install on my Swift 2 X (Only wiped cache, data etc last time) now have data and calls working no problem. Only minor issues I have left is fingerprint not working (Did not work in lineage 15.1 either) and rotation/sensors are not working.
Is there a possibility of the fingerprint patch being published separately? I'm running a Q AOSP ROM on my Marmite, and I've already got everything set exactly how I like it... I'm only missing fingerprint support ^_^
put on it this afternoon works great !! only minor downside I found is that the WiFi is off when restarting. for the rest ... Many thanks!
New build: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17248734326145709549
Changes:
- LineageOS Upstream (December 2020 security patch)
- Returned stock thermal configs for fast charging
- Oreo ZRAM settings
- Force background tasks on little cluster
- Implement glove mode for mstar touchscreen (Swift 2)
- Disabled IMS
- Little performance changes
Thanks for the new build! I'm going to update from the previous build of the ROM to this new one.
I have the previous build running for more than two weeks now on my Swift 2X, which I use like 24/7 a day. In my experience the ROM is fast and stable, and I have not encountered any bugs or unexpected behavior.
It's a great ROM and it gives this phone a new life. Great job!
i want to update to the new build.
if i Search for new updates i get a notification: can’t search for updates. Check Your internet connection.
but my internet connection is good in browser or other apps.
how can i solve this problem?
thank you!

ROM does not support OTA updates. Download the update manually and install over the current build.
Okay thanks!
Ik never done that before.
(Only update)
Install via TWRP.
Wipe cache and dalvik?
Or only install the update?

I have a cheap windows 10 tablet with terrible drivers (much worse on linux) and Bluetooth not working properly when connected to 2.4g band 5g band disconnects quite often but works fine with bluetooth I thought to myself lets use USB tethering i tried changing the default usb configuration to usb tethering on 2 roms including this one pixel experience plus from 4dpa and lineage 17 from here they both crash the entire OS and on lineage its worse because after a reboot the crash is still there a blank screen and an OS on pause requiring reboot on pixel experience or a data partition recovery of a previous (working )state for lineagos these are very nice roms especially pixel experience plus roms its just usb tethering seems to be useful to me at the moment
Question 1: How do I change the home screen? By default, it is on the far left and all new ones are added to the right. And I want 3 screens and make the main one the middle one.
Question 2: In the original firmware it is possible to change the color of the indicator light for different events, here it shines in one color (green) for any event.

Does anyone have any comment on this Rom? Any bug report or something else? How does it compare with lineage 16?
it does reboot sometimes out of the blue
and it Discharge too quickly and if you want to charge the phone you have to close it or shut it off and youtube app keep loading

I found some bugs on this rom
-Wifi Direct not working
-Reading mode not working
-Vibration not working on notifications
Hi thanks for the Rom.
I have the dual SIM (s3ve3gds).
Anyone has problem: very slow charging and buggy charging like need to restart to start charging?
I just installed the new ROM. Works great so far. Thanks a lot to the devs!
error bluetooth and slow charge . how fix error ?
I haven't voice during a call on both simcards for dual sim version. have you any idea for this problem?
hello, is working good this version of Lineage 17? It is okey for every day use? I'm steel on the LOS 16..
I would like to install lineage-17.1 (s3ve3gxx) on my GT-I9301I but the bootloader doesn't match the version the installation guide of the LineageOS Wiki demands:
Your device must be on bootloader version GT-I9301I = I9301IXCUARA1 […], otherwise the instructions found in this page will not work.
Click to collapse
The Software-Update of the Stock Rom says I have already the newest Version installed but the Bootloader is I9301IXXUAQL1 (Baseband Version I9301IXXUAPG1).
Can I flash Lineageos with that bootloader?
If not: How do I get the bootloader I9301IXCUARA1 on my device?
According to this page:
Samsung GT-I9301I Galaxy S3 Neo - Sfirmware.com
Download the latest version of Samsung firmware GT-I9301I for your region for free. Please go to the firmware download page.
sfirmware.com
The firmware / bootloader for I9301IXCUARA1 appears to be specific to Greece country model.
Speaking from my experience only:
Since I am using a different country model, I did not pay attention to that at all.
However, I am not using Lineage Recovery. Rather I am using TWRP as recovery:
TWRP for S3 Neo: https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys3neo.html
So I am not exactly following 100% of all the instructions in LineageOS Wiki. You mileage may vary though.
Hello everybody! There are many combinations in the mobile network settings that are not supported by our smartphone. For example, LTE, CDMA etc. Is it possible to remove networks that are not supported by the device, so as not to confuse the user? Thanks
I've been using LOS16 until some days ago, being reluctant to try LOS17.1, given how "subversive" the switch from LOS16-LOS17 was done (and I was missing @Humaxxx ). However, it looks working, but might need some fine tuning.
First the bad news:
- the issue with the WiFi driver is still persisting from LOS16 - if WiFi is connected on 2.4GHz and the BT is active, connected to a BT Headset and in use during a normal GSM call, it's enough to send a ping from the phone (ADB or a console) to the router or Internet (or initiate some traffic manually - update weather) and the WiFi connection bounces (disconnects - reconnects). This doesn't happen if the phone is connected on WiFi 5GHz. I reported this in the LOS16 thread some time ago, but at that time I thought it's only happening in VoIP applications while on 2,4GHz and using BT audio, it turns out a ping is enough to cause the issue. And, it looks like Wifi 2.4GHz and BT Audio (BT is also on 2,4GHz and from the same chip) cannot get used both at the same time, WiFi bounces.
- then BT Audio is still suffering interrupts randomly- loosing the microphone output, still able to hear the other party I'm speaking with. I noticed that this happens more often while moving fast around the phone (phone on the desk) or in narrow places like corridors or room corners- reflections/interference? Should be handled properly by the driver/firmware. It doesn't happen on stock ROM (stock driver/firmware).
- the LOS loading is faster, but as soon as it reaches the SIM PIN dialogue, after entering the PIN, it hangs a few dozen seconds. By the time it shows the unlock screen, the screen is already timing out - more of an annoyance.
- on the first run Android didn't copy my contacts from the SIM Card into the phone memory, I had to use an external App for this
- TWRP twrp-3.3.1-1-s3ve3g (the last one) is not compatible with Android 10, thus, it creates the backup OK, but it corrupts the name of the SDCard (corrigible manually - reformatting the SDCard on an external system) and what's worse it soft bricks the phone after restoring a backup. But there is a workaround - just tested it now and it's 100% working on the S3 Neo. You need to fix the root filesystem after the restoration, and someone has packed a simple script for doing so into an image that you need to install immediately after restoring the backup (don't exit TWRP!) and BEFORE the first reboot:
fix_rootfs_label

forum.xda-developers.com
- some cosmetics: the trebuchet icons are HUGE and too close to each other on the Homescreen. When choosing some more condensed Grid, it won't apply to the applications drawer, but only for the Homescreen (really dumb)
- then, for the Dark Theme - the black background for the Settings, Phone App, Messages, Application Drawer is actually dark grey and not "OLED-friendly" pure black
- oh, just noticed, the notification LED doesn't change the color while the phone charges over 80-90% if the screen is off. Only after waking up the screen, then the LED changes the color
Now the good news, LOS17.1 looks stable and working fine - using it extensively for a few days now - cheers to the devs!. Worth mentioning that I started with lineage-17.1-20210503-nightly-s3ve3gxx-signed.zip and I flashed it over LOS16 - like:
- booted the phone in TWRP
- went on Wipe -> Format Data
- then again on Wipe > Advanced Wipe -> and wiped system & data & cache & Dalvik cache
- then got into the Install menu and chose the lineage-17.1 file from the SDCard and flashed it & rebooted
- that's it
Finally:
- I'm still restarting the phone after a full charge, as it was advised under LOS16, not knowing if the issue with the proper sleep/doze mode was resolved in LOS17.1
- there was a post in this thread where a user complained about "Slow charging". I saw that status message myself after the first LOS17.1 reboot, but it vanished after I started configuring the phone and performing some more reboots. Now it says "charging". I guess it's some default thing from Android 10 - just telling that the phone isn't capable of fast charging.
- then , recently there was some exchange related to the boot loader version required for LOS17.1. Well I suppose it's the same required for LOS16 - the I9301IXCUARA1 from the Greek ROM:
I9301IXCUARA1_I9301ICOSARA1_I9301IXXUAPG1_HOME.tar
I have this boot image version from before I started using LOS16. Besides, you might need to flash that stock ROM several times - or use some App to check if the boot was updated after the first flashing. And, that Greek ROM is heavily bloated (COSMOTE mobile operator), but that shouldn't bother anyone, it's just useful for the latest boot loader, anyway you flash LOS17.1 over it
Some updates:
- managed to find a better Homescreen Icons fit/aspect ratio by choosing the 7x5 Grid (need to scroll down to be able to see the option - well hidden). On 6x6 Android will try to arrange the lower icons (Phone/Messages/Camera) automatically from left to right (alphabetical order) and it won't stop
- the default font is also really tiny, even for my (good) eyes, I set the font on Large now
- the charging LED does turn to a different color after charging the Battery over 90%. It looks like the Homescreen editing messes up the whole Android and I'd advise to restart the phone after goofing around with the Homescreen (inconsistent behavior there when editing - deleted icons reappearing, auto arrangements, etc.).
- the Dialer - Favorites Tab doesn't get populated, it only shows two of my contacts that are starred.
- lock screen is activated immediately after the screen turns off, regardless of the waiting time I configured

A big thank u to u !! I bought 6 NEOs on ebay (~30€) and flashed lineage on it, change (new) battery, bought new display shelter (tempered glass), used cases and sent the phones to my relatives in west africa. All are very happy with the phones ! All in all for every phone I had to pay ~50€. Here in germany the 3G frequency is more and more unsupported till the end of the year - but in west-africa it is still possilble to use and not switched off. So: your work makes active recycling possible and second gives people in a developing country the first chance for being connected digitally. (And I am a working class guy; I cannot spend so much money for a new phone ...) My wife is now connected by video calls and this has an amazing (voice- and video-) quality. Thank u very much !
WiFi doesn't seem to like staying connected, for too long.

This is an alternative ROM for the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, offering several privacy features.
Please report any issues you observe apart from the ones listed below. Logs are needed for me to fix anything (preferably dmesg and logcat). I can't test NFC very thoroughly, to please report your findings.
FEATURES
Signed with dev keys
Up-to-date kernel
WireGuard kernel support

ROM: https://sourceforge.net/projects/yoshino/files/lilac/lineage-20.0/
TWRP: https://sourceforge.net/projects/yoshino/files/lilac/twrp/
Suggested Gapps (MTG): http://downloads.codefi.re/jdcteam/javelinanddart/gapps (choose 13.0.0/arm64)
Check the ChangeLog below for firmware requirements!
INSTALLATION
Before first install: flash and boot into the TWRP provided in this thread, format data, reboot to recovery and wipe all internal partitions, then flash the ROM, GApps and root (if needed).
Or if you are coming from Lineage 19.x, dirty flash to 20.0 is possible too: flash the new TWRP, ROM, and GApps, su addons (if needed).
Note: There is not going to be a LOS su addon anymore. If you need root, flash a root manager of your choice. No guaranteed support from LOS for this.
When updating from previous builds, simply dirty flash the ROM is enough, decryption in new TWRP works now
Recommended GApps: MindTheGapps provided in this thread.
KNOWN ISSUES
Stock camera is not working anymore due to incompatibility of stock library (libimageprocessorjni.so) with new libgui

v1.2 (2023-05-10):
Updated to T QPR2 release (LineageOS upstream)
Updated to May 2023 Security updates (both ROM and kernel)
Our kernel now includes updates by CIP and is up-to-date with tag st40 - thanks also to Flamefire for help with some of these (1)
Reduced zram size to 25% (1gb) of out total RAM to have more to use freely
Updated BT stuff for QPR2 (maybe offloading is working again? needs confirmation)
Added the option to reflash the mbn via OpenCS (see Xperia Parts) - thanks also to shank03 & Flamefire (2)
Fully enabled IMS on Congstar Germany via overlay on lilac
Possibly some battery/performance optimizations here and there
Fixed Android Auto support
Added new LineageOS "Charging control hal" for battery charging care (3)
Maybe more I forgot...
(1) The CIP kernel includes fixes for issues and security vulnerabilities from 4.14 kernel (see https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/cip/linux-cip.git)
(2) A somehwat lengthy explanation: This option is off by default on fresh installs. When upgrading, this should be enabled because we enforced this for everybody previously. However, this option is only required for certain carrier mbns that enable IMS. Personally, I know that the O2/Telefonica Germany mbn needs this, otherwise you get a crashing modem at every boot (unless you switch to 3g before rebooting and back to LTE after boot). I generally recommend playing with this option, and if you don't need it (e.g. modem doesn't crash on boot), just keep it off - like mentioned before, this is now the default behavior of OpenCS on fresh installs anyway.
(3) This is not finalized or merged upstream is LineageOS yet, but seems like a nice feature to have and test drive already. Some bugs may be possible.
2023-01-08 | 1.1 | 47.2.A.11.228
- Updated to T QPR1 release (LineageOS upstream)- New default camera app (LineageOS upstream) - yes, we cannot change video fps currently (thanks Sony!)- Any other updates by LineageOS upstream- Kernel security updates (also thanks to Flamefire)- Dropped keyprovd service - it is useless on unlocked BL anyway- Show 4G instead of LTE icon - saves some space too- Enable IMS by default - this still only works if carrier is supported- Fix some selinux denials (also thanks to Flamefire)- Fixup ViLTE dependencies - this might in theory work again, but it's not enabled yet

Hello, I've flashed this ROM onto my device and it works, however Wi-Fi seems to randomly disconnect for a few seconds then reconnect, sometimes doesn't reconnect at all. Tried searching for a solution but found none. It seems to disconnect when any type of location activity happens? Currently rooted but also happens without root.

Could you be more specific? I believe it's blacklisted on AT&T. It doesn't work at all on Verizon, because it has the wrong bands.
I've seen plenty of reports of it working on T-Mobile.

First you said it was _not_ whitelisted on T-Mobile (so presumably doesn't work) and now you say it _does_ work on T-Mobile.
