Okay, so I've been updating each nightly ROM and have a small issue. I've gone back to RC1v2 and the issue seems to be there too, although I am now back on the latest nightly (from 11th August).
a lot of apps I have installed - lets take Facebook as a pretty bog standard example - don't show up in the "My Apps" part of the Market app. If I search for it, it says it is installed. If there was an update then it allows me to update it, but still refuses to show it in "My Apps".
Now, if I go to the web version of the Market, it tells me that Facebook is "incompatible with my T-Mobile MB525". Clearly it's lying.
I've tried clearing cache and data from the Market app - still no joy.
I've tried taking the ro.build.fingerprint line of a Defy running stock 2.2 - no luck.
Has anyone else had this problem?
How can I fix it?
Yes I always have this no matter which rom I have.
You can get it to show all apps after you update or download a new app on the market.
Sent from my MotoDefy.
Edit just tried it again amd it didn't work this time!
Edit 2 after clearing the cache (after downloading a new app from the market) it now shows all my apps.

No - that's not helping. For example, I've just searched for "chess" on my phone's market app, found one and installed it. the app does not show in "My Apps", and nor do any other supposedly incompatible ones. Market on web shows installed, and yet incompatible, screen attached.
Right that's a different issue to what I was thinking.
I used to have something similar to this when I was originally on eclair & tried to download apps from the market on my laptop - said they were incompatible as they were for a more recent Android version.
Sorry can't help any further as I've not had the issue on CM7.
hmm - bizarrely I just installed the latest nightly (1116), and now all my market works again. I'm confused, but somewhat happier.
now, if I can just work out why my patcher isn't working to get transparency theming I'll be sorted...

and now it doesn't. Clearly I'm doing something to cause this. Time for an investigation.
okay - the incompatibility comes when I try to rename the camera shutter sound. command I'm using is: mv camera_click.ogg camera_click.bak
Why would that cause this issue?
or apparently any command after mounting /system - at random. I give up.
In case anyone else IS following my ramblings here, I've changed ROM to WajkIUI, done nothing in the system folder, and still have incompatibility in the market.
Reloading a ROM was getting the market working - now not. The whole thing beats me.
gapps
Try flashing the latest gapps from here.
Another idea, try flashing a full nordic stock 2.2 sbf from scratch and applying CM7 again.
thanks - I'm already on the latest gapps.
I don't think flashing the sbf etc again would help, as like I've said - flashing a ROM usually fixes the problem, then I go and change stuff in /system (renaming the camera sound files, and uninstalling OI File Manager so I can get the later version in the market).
Custom dpi (lcd density) seems to cause the "incompatible" problem with the new market.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196417
Going back to 240 dpi and clearing market data makes everything work as it should.
You can then go back to your custom dpi, but most users are reporting the problem comes back after a while.

You're a star. That solved it. Thanks!
I had this issue also. The LCD density fix did nothing for me
i had to make changes to the build.prop file
below are the changes i made
original:
ro.build.description=umts_jordan-user 2.2.1 3.4.2-107_JDN-9 34.4.9 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=MOTO/jordan_tmo_us/umts_jordan/jordan:2.2.1/3.4.2-107_JDN-9/34.4.9:user/release-keys
replaced the above lines with:
ro.build.description=umts_jordan-user 2.2.1 3.4.2-107_JDN-9 34.4.9 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=MOTO/jordan_tmo_us/umts_jordan/jordan:2.2.1/3.4.2-107_JDN-9/34.4.9:user/release-key
these came from my stock froyo TMO ROM
am I blind, or did you really replace two lines with two identical lines?
I had a similar issue, but for some reason I have multiple accounts on for my market and the apps seem to get randomly assigned to another gmail account and will only show up when I go to that account.
I have not had any issues with the compatibility however, and I haven't flashed a new nightly since the end of Sept. but I am about to go with the first Defy stable build from CM so I guess we will see. I will make sure to back-up everything.
I recently tried out CM 7.1 and to my surprise the "Gallery 3D by Rayman50" force installed itself after i launched the market, now i cant remove it anymore. I went back to my previous rom (2.3.4 stock tmobile rooted) I did a fresh install ,wiped all system data, cache,etc... and as soon as i sign into market on the stock 2.3.4 rooted rom, the app is back on and installed. I even disabled auto synch and auto back up to prevent the install but it hasn't helped. I had the stock 2.3.4 rooted rom before and didnt have the issue, it started all after installing CM 7.1 a few days ago. Anyone else having this problem?
thanks
Not per se, but I'd guess that this is somehow connected to backing up your settings to your google account. So it's probably still set for automatic download (had this with different apps before).
I'd just let all apps install automatically via the android market and then uninstall it with titanium backup. When your device next syncs with your google account, it should remove the 3d gallery so this won't happen again. (You'd obviously have to activate auto-backup again for this to work)

The OP said nothing about jellybean, and from your other posts seems you're post-padding.
I downloaded the apk from apk mirror for the new 2.0 contacts app. Instead of upgrading the current app, it installed it next to the current app, resulting in two versions at the same time. I don't see contacts in the store either. Has anyone seen this happen?
My system app is still on 1.4.17. I'm completely stock.
I reset my phone with the same result. The contacts up won't update. Installing the newer version installs it separately.
Hi Mi A1 Device Holders,
I was curious of Google Floating Dialler on my device running Android O. So tried a modded APK from one of the threads. However I couldn't install the mod on to my device when it was in Beta stage. After several attempts.
Now Google have released a new version v17 in which the floating bubble dialer is enabled by default. You may refer to the below link.
https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-google-dialer-floating-bubble-2/.
So I wanted to try it again and went to Playstore and it doesn't allow me to download. Tried downloading and installing from Apkmirror. However I couldn't install it.
But I managed to install it with a small tweak.
Here is the Guide:
1. Hold the Phone app Icon and Click App Info
2. Scroll down to Option Phone App. If it is showing YES, you will not be able to install the new app. So you need to change it NO.
Note: You will not be able to do it without another Dialler app installed on your phone. For this, I installed TrueCaller App and then changed it. You may try with other dialer apps.
3. Install the latest app downloaded from ApkMirror or the one attached below.
4. Again, hold the Phone app Icon and Click App Info and shift the Phone App from True Caller(in my case) to Phone app.
5. You are done.
Enjoy :good:
Hit a thanks if you like it
P.S:
I was using v16 which got automatically updated from Playstore from the previous version. On top of that I installed the V17. My device is not rooted and using stock os...and I find absolutely no issues or lag or whatsoever
well in my case i just installed it and it worked voilaa.... Thanks for link
Thanks for the APK. I was able to install but now I can't search for contacts using T9 dialer. I now need to manually tap the search bar on the top and type in the letters.
Even manually searching is really slow and delayed.
Any fix for this?
Edit: The problem goes away if I roll back to the default Phone app, but comes back once I reinstall the above Apk.
What's going on here?

It's working fine with me.. I find no such issues. You may try clearing the cache/data of the app. See if it helps.

I tried that but it didn't help. Any other ideas?
I figured out the issue! For some reason Google Phone v17 did not work well with Contacts v2.4.
T9 dialling was very slow to search the contacts (10-15 seconds).
I tried everything from reviewing permissions, clearing cache, removing accounts etc. But nothing worked.
Finally I decided to manually check apkmirror and update the Contacts app to v2.5 and presto! Reduced lag when using T9 dialling!!
There is still an ever so slight lag compared to when I roll back to the v13 Google Phone, but it's much more usable now. Hope this helps!

i tried this on my redmi note 4, but when i make a call, history is not logged in new phone app, only in the old one. any suggestions? i hate these gapps [emoji14]
Sent from my Redmi Note 4 using Tapatalk
Have you tried setting the new phone app as the default and disabled the old one?
I was using v16 on January stable build and all was fine then i downloaded apk of v17 from apk mirror and it was also working fine aftert that i changed my rom to new February beta and now after installing v17 when i open phone app a popup appears everytime with a message that this app is not compatible and calls may not work correctly. Even though app was working fine but that popup was irritating me so i modded my phones build prop to pixel xl 2 and now Phone app is compatible with my Mi A1 and i can see it in play store aswell ??????
I was using v16 which got automatically updated from Playstore from the previous version. On top of that I installed the V17 and I find absolutely no issues or lag without build prop changes. Moreover, my device is not rooted for your info...
Hi there. I'm new to Xiaomi/MIUI and would appreciate any help with the following issues.
Mi 10T – Global Stable 12.0.8 – stock launcher – MIUI optimization ON – de-bloated with ADB
I can't see how much storage space is being taken up by each installed app/package. They all show a "0" value.
I can't find Running Services under Developer Options.
I can't permanently disable usage access for System Launcher. It re-enables itself once I exit the settings menu.
App icons aren't updating. For example, Gmail, Maps, Photos and FB Messenger still display their old icons, despite me using the latest versions of those apps.
Google Play still displays the older menu style, despite me using the latest version of that app.
System Apps Updater doesn't detect OTA updates, despite several newer versions of MIUI 12 system apps existing on APK Mirror. This issue presented itself before I began de-bloating.
Updater doesn't detect OTA updates. I had to sideload 12.0.8 in order to update from the phone's original OS version (12.0.7). This issue presented itself before I began de-bloating.
Full disclosure: I'd rather not turn off MIUI optimization to see if that resolves any of these issues, as I'm not keen on resetting permissions (again).
Edit:
When I uninstall an app via the app drawer, a gap is left in its place. The icon of the uninstalled app is still there, it just turns invisible. I can uninstall it over and over, but it doesn't go away until I reboot the phone.
There doesn't appear to be a way to turn off the phone's equalizer. I can't use Blackplayer's equalizer until I do so. I don't know if the same applies to other music players.
Edit:
There doesn't appear to be a way to add emergency contacts or access them via the lockscreen emergency dialer. Emergency information (com.android.emergency) exists within the list of installed apps.
I'm on Global 12.0.7, unlocked, rooted and debloated. Stock recovery. What did you exactly do to update to 12.0.8? I do not want to wipe and I'm a little confused with the procedure...

I downloaded it from here, went to About Phone in Settings, clicked on the OS version number in the top left, clicked on the 3-dot menu in the top right and installed it via Mi File Manager.
AFAIK, you can only use Mi File Manager to install the update via this method. If you've disabled or uninstalled it, nothing will happen when you click that menu option – even if you've installed another file manager.

I just tried this. It reboots and starts updating... but goes from 0.X% to 100% in two seconds, then it boots and it's still 12.0.7
