Hey guys,
i'm getting this weird bug, when pulling down the quick access or the notification panel by sliding down on alternate launchers (like nova launcher), it just shows really really slowly.
Like if my animations speed were set to 4X in developper options, unless it's not.
Only getting this when sliding from anywhere on the screen with gestures function of the launchers, not from the top of the screen like you would do.
Cheers
Known issue in nova on 6.0. Hopefully apps will get updated soon to support this. I live by gestures!
It's only with the gesture that the status bar does that and it's only on alternate launchers (as u said) like nova is where I've seen it as well. If I set a swipe down gesture to show notifications, and I swipe down in the middle of the screen, that will happen.
Doesn't seem like it would be a 6.0 bug

it s not android bug
it s compatibility of launcher
launcher need to get access from accessibility section in setting + some system permissions (i think)
it s not straight forward function to open notification/status bar with codes since android 5
that might cause this issue
Hi to all!
I'm experiencing a really strange thing when try to set an HOME gesture with some of most famous apps for that purpose, like ALL IN ONE GESTURES, EDGE GESTURES and similar.
If I set recent apps and back gesture, they work in every way I set them...but if I try to set ANY KIND of gesture for returning to home... nothing happens.
The command work properly (I feel the haptic vibration, or alinz, that starts when a command is performed), but the gesture won't work in the end...
Anyone noticed that too? Maybe there's something I missed for make them work?
I use swipe up from bottom border and it works for me. I use aio.

I didn't find the cause yet but it is also happening to me. If I reboot the phone the home gesture starts to work fine, it only breaks if I re-enabled the nav bar + disable immersive mode using their quick tiles provided by joneplustools and systemuituner. The easiest solution is to reboot the phone.
Well but are you rooted?
Because I can disable navbar but on home screen it'll be always there, so I can't use bottom gestures, only edge...

Right now I'm rooted, yes.
Without root the navbar always shows if you swipe from the bottom. You could try a 0px navbar by I think it doesn't work in OOS at the moment.

I already have the 0pt navbar and used successfully on S8 but with OnePlus it just don't works, I suppose because the navbar is named "drawable" in OnePlus internals while in APK it's "navbar", at least I've read it on multiple sources...

Yeah that must be the reason.
If you don't want to root right now your solution is to use a gesture app like edge gestures or swipe navigation because you can use gestures from the right/left edge so you activate the navbar less often.
It's not ideal but is has one advantage; for example when I want to close a game using the back button, the gesture sometimes is not recognized and I have to activate the navbar using the quick setting and that sometimes breaks the home gesture like we discussed yesterday so I have to reboot the phone sometimes. You only have to swipe from the bottom and it's all fine.

Yeah...but the fact that navbar is permanent in home screen no matter if you choose to hide it or not is really disappointing...

According to my experience this kind of problem is most likely caused by a third party app, possibly an xposed module or some half baked apk. Privately exchange a list of your installed apps, compare and concentrate on the more dubious apps you have in common and you may find your culprit there.

Well I don't have any X module since I'm not rooted, apps installed I don't know but I doubt it because are the same apps that was in S8 before, so I don't think that an app can interfere with the 0pt navbar functions...

Yeah that's the main gripe. I suppose you are concerned about burn-in.
I don't know if stock OOS Oreo will fix that. Maybe some Dev can mod the navbar file as I was done with the old filetype as in the Galaxy S8.
I also can tell you that on LiquidRemix 8.0 ( it's on a Telegram group as is in testing stage ) you could hide the navbar completely without root but I understand that you don't want to change the rom and right now is has bugs so is better to stay in Oxygen.
Right now I'm using stock OOS 4.7.4 with root and to update is super easy, just download and flash the full zip, flash your kernel + magisk/superSu after and it's done.
I don't know if you care about Android Pay...

I can tell you that on a fresh installed OOS 4.7.4 without third party apps it doesn't work. The problem is that on Oxygen the navbar has another name in system so that mod doesn't work.
No I don't care about it because there's no need for it now, at least for me.
I've always rooted phones, no problems with that, it's just that I don't feel the need to do it with 5T since is nearly stock and good to run stock "as is"...
Not specifically a 5T problem (as far as I know) but wasn't present in my oneplus 3:
https://youtu.be/jivr6ll8gGY
Hopefully you'll see that after pressing the multitask button then the home button instead of just sliding back down it kinda spazzes out for a split second... Not a massive problem just ugly.
Seems to only affect Nova and not the stock OP launcher.
Sadly I cant reproduce it.
I'm not having that problem either.
Okay so tried various combinations to reproduce the issue. This happens when hiding the navbar option is enabled. If disabled, it works as expected.

Mate! You're right. What's that about? But the navigation bar is there regardless of being disabled or not when in the Launcher. Is that an OP bug or Nova's?
Experienced this too when hiding navbar through settings...
update oreo ,still have this issue
I just updated my 5t to the Oreo open beta. Before that i was on OOS 4.7.6 and was using Substratum with the Navbar Height Plug in. It was working great on OOS 4.7.6. I had my nav bar set at the lowest DPI -18. Just barely visible so I could use All in one gestures as my main way of navigating and having access to the navbar for long press items(exiting screen pinning, double tap back to bring the notification panel down, etc..)
Now im looking for a way to do this on Oreo. The substratum method that was working before is not working on Oreo neither are any of the many navbar apps available.
What method can I use to change the Navbar height? I am looking for anyway I can change the dpi.
My end goal here is to shrink the navbar, nothing else.
To mention I am rooted and havent modified anything else.
I've got the exact same question so I'm bumping it. Went from 4.7.6 to 5.0 (Open Beta 1) and also used Navbar Height to set my Height to 0 to use Swipe Navigation. So far haven't found any other app/setting/build.prop editing sucesfully hiding my navbar.
I hide the navbar with this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75064981&postcount=91
Bumping this because I can't find a solution. Only more questions like mine. All I've found out is this is a problem specific to OnePlus(of course) and that they did something weird with the navbar on the 5t.
what about removing the nav bar. hate navnars
I got it working by installing https://play.google.com/store/apps/...lustools&rdid=net.jroot3d.joneplustools&pli=1 then adding the quick setting called Navigation Button that comes with the app.
I don't want to remove the navbar. I want to shrink it. Apparently OnePlus does something different as far as framework files for the navbar on Oreo. On oos 4.7.6(nougat) it worked just fine with substratum and any other app from the play store that modified the navbar. With the introduction of Oreo they changed something and it's very specific to just the 5t running Oreo. I just want to know what file I'm looking for and how to modify it be it with some framework edit or an app specific for the navbar on the 5t.

Hey bud are you on Oreo? I'm using the same thing but the notification button isn't working and even if I manage to hide my navbar I can't block it, it'll always slide up when I swipe.
Hi I have a new poco F3 8/256gb and it comes with Miui 12.0.2 but I have problems with nova launcher, the buttons recent app doesn´t work and only shows a blanck screen without any of the app. I tried with Apex launcher with the same resul. Then the icon for floating windows only apears on the control center icon and not on recent app, so the usability is very poor. Another problem I have is the bar of gesture on the botton of the screen sometime disapears and sometimes not. I search on the net and a tried, developer option miui optimitation with no positive results, hope Xiaomi release a new update soon.
It's a problem with poco launcher that broke recent apps if you install another launcher.
See here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...12-2-2-4-eu-version-android-11.4215795/page-2
I have installed the new version and it's ok now for me with Microsoft launcher
It's not miui, it's android 11. when i was using mi9t with PE, no third party launchers work really well. lawnchair and shady launcher do release their alpha versions and it's usable, not perfect, but, yeah, usable.
Lawnchair Alpha doesn't work, it's the same problem. The moment you enable Lawnchair gestures are disabled.
I had the same issue on my F3 with Nova Launcher
Thanks to @stevejc, I just installed Poco Launcher v2.20.1.26 and got back the recent apps in Nova !
But I have also lost floating windows !
thanks to @stevejc for his answer I update the poco launcher and my nova works perfect but I still have no floating window options in a recent panel. anyone can help me with this?
The only working tip is to use the quick settings button for each app.
I don't have also the icon in recent panel too.
Full gestures don't seem to work for me if I use custom launcher only traditional Dock navigation bar works. Even if you still insist using full gestures restart brings back old navigation. However I tried this app it seems to make full gestures work? Restart old navigation does still return but we can continue use full gestures. Can anyone confirm? If it works more than just me I might buy it.
Pls ignore the app I recommended. When it works it works but it can suddenly stop working. I am going back to poco launcher until there is a fix or someone recommend a working gesture app.
I installed FNG for gestures with poco launcher

sorry I can´t confirm because a I use the poco launcher now
I got a reply frm an xda developer. He develop gesture app for earlier androids. He said he can't help us. So I am guessing other gestures might not fully work either?
Guys more of you need to submit feedback / bugs complain I get the feeling xiaomi will not fix the full gesture with custom launcher issue. This their respond despite telling them oneplus has no issue with nova on android 11. I got a oneplus 7t pro.
Hi I'm using microsoft launcher and the app my gesture and it'working.
You can turn off or not the nav bar with setup gesture on miui setup page.

You have any issue of it suddenly stop working? I did. Its same with all others I tried they can suddenly stop working if I don't have 3 dot at bottom it be an issue. Mygesture suddenly stop working according to app accessibility stop responding I need to restart. Turning accessibility on off for it didn't work only restart did.
You need to avoid stop the app in recent apps screen (first icon).
Also I give the app the Start automatically authorization and no battery optimisation.
I have the same problem if I kill the app but with the previous settings it's OK.
I can hide the nav bar, only after reboot they come again.
To hide them add gesture in Miui settings
