I like how T-mobile gives a description of the changes made. AT&T just says update available so you have to look at their change log online to see the changes.

[Q] How to enable multi window on T-Mobile Galaxy note2?

I just bought the galaxy note 2 from T-Mobile but I can't figure out how to get the multi window.
I found somewhere that I need to do a software upgrade, but it's telling me there are no upgrades available...
Anybody know how to get the multi window working ? I really wanted this feature and I'm so angry it's not working! :crying:
You probably have wait for the update like the international versions did. I remember there being a slide tab on the left that included the apps that could run in multi-screen.

I have the Sprint version of the Note 2 and doing this does not open the multiview options. It looks to be disabled.
firmware update?
I got the T-Mobile version yesterday. I've been trying the multi-view feature but it does not work. Snooped around the web and it looks like it needs a firmware update. Some said you can updated it thru samsung's Kies software. Tried it but it says my device is not support.
Anyone have any luck?

You will have to wait for Samsung/T-Mobile to push an update. Won't be immediately.

No, I'm just going by what happened on the International version. I assume it is the same for us as well.

Yeah, currently there's no multiview. Hopefully, like the European version an update will come a week after the release, but who knows with these darned American carriers.

Yes it says the same thing on when I connect it via kies. It says im not able to update with Kies.
What I find goofy is that the popup player and popup browser will work, but you cant get the true multiwindow thing to happen with other programs.

Check out this response I got from Samsung this morning. It is baffling. A simple "USA version will get an OTA very soon" would have been fine. This response is just stupid being that they advertised the feature on their website, videos, etc.
"We are unable to speculate when/if this software upgrades revision might be available for Samsung Galaxy Note II due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

I think that's better than them not even knowing the phone features. I was chatting with a rep for over an hour and I had to explain to him what multi window was and still did not understand.
Looks like Samsung is doing the same BS HTC dose. If the feature isn't released by nov 24 im gonna make a support petition and take Samsung to small claims court and get every penny I paid back. How can they market the phone with the ability then say they are unaware if the device will support it. My neighbor took att to small claims court and won. So I wont think twice to file one against samsung. Thats the feature that sold me to this phone. Well the lie that sold me to this phone. I simply wont stand for this sh1t I want wtf I paid for. We all do!

Yea. Those mini apps have been a part of touchwiz on the tablets... useful, but not the same as the multi window. Sucks because that is actually one of the main marketing features.

FINALLY!!!!
A good update for the guys still with stock ROM, for the rest check out the thread on installing the E988 on the ATT E980 using a simple CWM restore, much more convenient and very close to STOCK LG SOFTWARE, Rooted, no carrier BS, NO CARRIER-IQ, Tethering Enabled etc.....
Have not been happier with the phone, will keep me going another year!
Oh snap I got another email from ATT today. Hells yes.

Ok I just got off the phone with a nice lady over at AT&T customer support. She confirmed that the 4.4 KK started rolling out today. And that it isn't released all AT once to everyone. It is released in batches. She wasn't quite sure how they decide who gets it first.. but she assured me it is coming. And the device not registered error we are getting will go away when they push the update to your particular device. So just keep checking for updates every 24 hours.

If we did get it, it'll be at least 2-3 months after Samsung releases it. Most likely though, ATT will just trash the update and hope we upgrade our phones to the Note 5.

I just checked my note 4, no update as of right now.
I have no plan or desire to "upgrade" to Note 5... no SD card, no user-replacable battery is NO "upgrade" as far as I am concerned. Samsung is losing touch with users, all for $ to snuggle up in bed with carriers.

Yes just the battery.
Now that the Feds are involved (CPSC), I will be shocked, and presently surprised, if they move this quickly. I dropped back to my developer edition of the Note 3 (custom ROM and custom kernel) to wait it out. Love the N7, even without an unlocked bootloader. My local corporate Verizon store has been very helpful. Not particularly worried about successfully trading in my N7 when the fixed ones are in stock, regardless of some "return date". Not sure if a local store manager, or someone higher up the food chain would want to be on the business end of a federal recall.

right, we are given the info and we update our customers with what we are given. web or not samsung has given us an estimated date in which they are going to be here, now this can be altered but the CSPC as stated by the other user earlier.
I just assisting with what I am given especially since I am a note user myself and would like to get down to getting room so I can have me some pure android.

As always, thanks for jumping in. Much appreciated for sharing what know.
The lack of coordination with the CPSC is also affecting carriers' ability to help with the recall. The WSJ reports that while Samsung has sent an unknown number of Note 7 units to mobile operators, they aren't allowed to distribute them until they receive approval from the CPSC.

If what the Verge is reporting is accurate - that is good and bad. It would mean that most likely Verizon stores have new notes already - bad news is they have to wait on the CPSC to release them - which could take who knows how long.

You and me both. I just switched to verizon and got the note 7 about 3 days before the recall was announced. Very disappointed with this situation.
Do you think they will be any cheaper now?
