OnePlus 5T versus Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 camera quality

Hello,
I was wondering which of these 2 phones has the better camera quality. I've read many bad things about the OnePlus 5T's camera but it being a "flagship" should mean that the camera should at least be better than the camera on a budget phone.
What do you think? The camera on the Xiaomi seems to be really good when you look at the reviews.
Thanks.
Watch videos on YouTube, the note 5 pro is pretty poor , especially video , but it's a 3rd of the price

A70 vs S9 Plus

Hi guys,
I'm thinking of buying one of those two phones.
The main feature of a phone for me is the camera, and I was wondering if you have any verdict on which has a better camera, and if the quality difference (of the cameras) between those phones noticeable.
Thanks!
The s9+ have a much better camera. But no widescreen altough the wide screen camera of the A70 is not more then ok.

There's nothing much to talk about a70 cameras. I am not satisfied with camera clarity and performance for such high price.

It's not a high priced phone at all. The A70 is £369, whereas the high-spec/high-priced range would be things like the S10+ at £899.

Try the gcam mod. It makes a great improvement on phones from Xiaomi. I hope it works on A70.

S10+ with GCam vs Pixel 3 Photos

Hello,
Pixel user here. I'm contemplating to buy a S10+ however, I am curious to know if someone has compared
S10+ GCam Vs Pixel 3 Photos. Is it on par with Pixel 3 photos? Because the photos of Pixel are amazing!
Please give me your insights
If you can get the snapdragon S10+ then I think it might be ok. the exynos version has quite some issues getting gcam to work properly on it...
But honestly, camera wise I think the pixel still is the better choice (saying that as exynos s10+ owner who is not too convinced of the camera yet)
Its an unpopular opinion here but i love the pics of my exynos S10+. So much more pleasing colors in comparison with gcam. I often find myself taking a random picture and beeing surprised what this phone is capable of. Its just a different look u have to decide which you prefer neither of both is the clear winner in my opinion.

I had a S9+ and used Gcam because of thee things:
Consistent HDR+ - Samsung had a good HDR image but far away from Google's
Portrait pics - Samsung's app used the 2.4 aperture camera to take the pics, so it looked super dark at night. HDR wasn't very good either, google's was much better
Night mode - Samsung's night mode added later on was not good in a dark environment, so night sight was a must
But when I got my S10+ things got much better.
HDR - consistent, takes amazing pictures and got even better after the update. I don't think my S9+ with a fully working Gcam could take a few of these beautiful pictures
Portrait - finally Samsung is using the 1.5 aperture camera to take pics and they look beautiful at night, not to mention the great hightlight detection, better than Google's. The HDR effect looks really good as well.
Night mode - looks much better than before, better than Gcam in some aspects, but not as bright overall. Still not as consistent as Gcam, needs some work but I'm really happy now.

You're right, on the main camera pixel 3 is still the champ on photos. Better HDR+ in all moments, more details in any condition, night sight is 100 times better. When it comes to zoom 2x and ultrawide camera is a no go for the pixel 3. I own both a S10+ and p3xl
I was using the OnePlus 6T with GCam. Even that beats my S10+ camera hands down. I have the Exynos S10+ and i regret buying it. Will never buy an Exynos Samsung device ever again.
Now, i use this S10+ with my Google Pixel 3 XL. The camera is just UNREAL.
Anyways, my advice is. If camera is important to you. Get the new Pixel coming. If on a budget Pixel 3A still got fantastic camera. Or even a used Pixel 3.
For me, getting the OnePlus 7 Pro the second it launches and dumping this S10+. It's not a bad device, no. But the camera is average at best (If you ask me).
With the OP7 Pro, will have Snap 855, GCam and Dual SIM with quick software updates
Cheers!

S20U have big software problem?

Hi to all
I watch so many YT videos about camera comparison and see so many bad things about S20U camera. Is that because still camera software in beta or it is just what S20U is?
I watch S20U vs:
- Note 10 Plus,
- Huawei P40 Pro,
- Xiaomo Mi10,
- Iphone 11 Pro
And yes S20U have new big camera sensor but still they are no big improvements in night shoot's, astophotography, zoom, night videos, portret and etc.. And every phone have better camera in most situation. Whats wrong with S20U? Will Samsung fix this with software updates?
All the best
Not quite sure how you think most phones have a better camera but from someone who ACTUALLY has an S20U I can tell you this camera is fantastic. And with every update will continue to get better and better.
Feel free to not purchase it though. It isn't for everyone.

Come on now. You know that's not exactly true. This phone has pretty serious camera issues, from poor optics to focus problems, etc. It's not a terrible camera, but it is not worth the price tag. Samsung has to do a lot more work on the software side to make it better. I've had the phone since launch and while updates did improve things, it still falls short compared to other flagships. Both iPhone 11 Pro and Pixel 4 take better photos (I have those phones too), as does Note 10+ in most cases (I have it too for comparison). With that said, it is possible to take good photos with the S20 Ultra, so it's not all bad.
If anyone bought the Ultra Solely for the camera then that was Dumbassville! Other than the camera however The 120hz screen rocks, 5g works good depending on your coverage area. It's also a speedy phone. At least my US Unlocked 512gb version is. But if your buying the phone expecting a mobile photography studio like Samsung is hyping in their ads you can forget that BS now because that's what it is. Just plain BS! That is not to say the cameras can't take good pictures or the software won't get better. It just means if your expecting a DSLR or Wonder Miracle camera on a phone it ain't happening. There is a reason those $10,000 DSLR lenses take great night time photos and cost so much. You will never achieve that quality on a phone camera.
I'm one of the few people who buys phone not for the camera but making receiving calls, YouTube media consumption social networking camera is bottom of the list.
I think the camera and video is brilliant and better then most flagship. Its good for an average consumer use for expert photographers not to sure as don't know enough. The good thing is most of us aren't experts.
I prefer the s20 plus as its slimmer and has less protruding camera. Its better buy then huawei as g services are missing and better software and screen. Better then oppo due to mainly software and less curved screen. Oppo could have been my choice were it not for the curved screen. I hate that, most overrated and wasted tech.
Thats my rant and impression of Samsung s20.

That would make more sense than paying 17% more for a 6% larger screen. The battery is also 11% larger, but the plus is also lighter and thinner, especially at the camera bump. The cameras are the most significant difference between the two, it would only make sense for that to be the main motivating factor in paying the premium (especially considering the plus is tending to get marked down more).

The camera is literally the one reason to go for the Ultra vs. the Plus. Screen and battery size difference are insignificant in this decision, so no, Samsung does need to step up and make the Ultra worthy of its name. With that said, I am not expecting DSLR quality. I have a 5D Mark IV and some very high end lenses and know the difference. However, matching or beating the Pixel 4 series or the iPhone 11 Pro shouldn't be a problem for the camera setup on the Ultra, except Samsung botched the implementation badly.

Agree with you.
Pay 1400$ for S20U
- BATTERY not good than 11 pro max or oppo find x2 or p40 pro
- Exynos 990 so bad ( ex 990 < kirin 990 < sd 865)
- Camera can not take the moment well as iphone or other phone. Can't focus well, but photo and video day light is ok.
- screen ok but oppo find x2 pro's screen are better
Sorry for my bad english.
:silly:

Have S20 Ultra hardware that can improve with software? Or should I go for Mi 10?
Thank you

Camera quality

Are the cameras on the 3 Samsung s20/ plus and the ultra all pretty much the same quality? Are is the camera on the Samsung CEO ultra way better than the CEO plus and the base model CEO device? I'm just wondering if it's worth spending the extra $ on the CEO ultra device. Basically is a camera on the s20 ultra way better than the base model s20 and s20 plus. Get somebody please let me know thanks in advance!!! I'm using the LG cup right now. Is the camera on the s20 plus s20 Ultra in the base model s20 way better than the v 60 LG device camera.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
( Exynos S20 U )
I like the camera, it has its limitations to take close-up photos, you can limit that by taking more distance and then zooming in, auto focus on the S20 Ultra is a bit restless, don't expect to take 1 photo there take several photos and pick the best ones out and tinker with snapseed until a good result is achieved for you, you are not familiar with taking and editing photos, 108 MP with the TOF sensor is perfect in certain situations, video recordings at 4 K and now the 21: 9 format is great, only manual, autofocus is unreliable !!. , in short, buy what you can handle, amateur? don't buy samsung!>
No, the S20 & S20+ crop into the sensor for the tele lens not an actual tele lens and the IQ from it is poor, the S20U is an actual tele lens. The UWA is similar in both, and the std lens is 108 mp vs 12mp the S20U takes a range of photos with the 108mp and combines them into a single 12mp photo, and when i compared the 12mp from my S20+ to my S20U the S20U is better detail wise.
