Call/Text issue - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hi Guys, wonder if anyone has similar problem or suggestions.
Using an s20+ but it's as if the phone appears to be deep sleeping and calls and text messages are not coming through, unless I make a call myself or switch airplane mod on or off.
I don't think its network related, as I've switched sims in phone ect and sim works fine in another phone/different sim in the s20,has the same problem.
I've no apps set to deep sleep or battery save, have done a factory reset twice and it is still happening, so wondering could there be any other setting I'm missing out on or if it's likely to be hardware rather than software?

Not receiving texts and/or phone calls

Has anyone else have these problems?
1. Random timeouts, won't receive text messages / phone calls randomly.
Ever since I started using my captivate glide it seems that I randomly won't receive text messages or phone calls. It happened before and after the software update. I notice I won't receive a text for a while, will restart my phone and all of a sudden I receive like 3 of them. Or eventually, after a few hours all the texts that I received will come all at once. I have been told that during these periods my phone sends calls straight to voicemail.
I know it isn't AT&T because my Xperia X10 I had previously never had this problem and I'm living in the same location. I have full bars nearly all the time, so it isn't that I'm not getting service.
2. Email continuous refreshing and not polling correctly.
When using the email app and connected to HSDPA+ I will not get emails randomly and when I go to refresh manually, it says "Refreshing..." at the bottom for minutes at a time.
This doesn't happen when I'm on WiFi and I noticed I can fix it by using the browser to load a web page, then the email app will download new messages.

had the same problem, pulled the back cover, powered off, removed and re-inserted SIM card, added a piece of strong clear tape to keep it snug, haven't had the problem again.
HTH
Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I just replaced the SIM card 2 days ago since AT&T told me it sounded like a SIM issue. However, the problem persisted.
AT&T told me they couldn't replace my device because it was an "intermittent" issue. Pretty ridiculous, but hopefully your trick will work.

Maybe you or someone else will be able to confirm my issue? Anyone else think the SIM slot is off by a millimeter length/width/height-wise? My sim card seemed very loose, and looking now, with the tape holding it down, looks like there's a slight gap between the card itself and the little metal cage...

Mine fits in just right but I haven't checked it for a while. I'll check it once I get a chance.
My SIM card seems to be less secure than my last phone but not that loose. I tried the tape trick, didn't work for me.
I did discover one thing though, at least for me, it tends to coincide with my WiFi radio being turned on. I tested it twice and it happened.
My WiFi radio off, it worked all day, then when I turned my WiFi radio on and ~30 minutes later I wasn't able to receive texts or phone calls.
I'm going to keep testing to see if I can reproduce the problem so AT&T will have to either replace it or fix it.
When looking in About Phone > Status I see that when I have my WiFi turned on, my mobile network state is disconnected. Not sure if this is normal or not.

That is normal, the OS automatically controls the Mobile network once WIFI is connected. It definitely sounds like a hardware issue to me. Hopefully you can convince AT&T if that is the case.

Silent mode goes on automatically during night

Sometime during night silent mode goes on, and it's on when I wake up. Then I have to use the slider to get the phone back on normal state. Quite annoying. Slider was in normal mode all the night. Anyone else? How to stop that behavior?
This happened to me too. Did you have Do Not Disturb settings set on your prior device and then restore the back up to your OP3? I have read that this is the cause of the problem - the old setting transfers over and there is no way to change them. I went into the global setting for app notifications and reset all apps. This worked for others and appears to have worked for me as well.
Having the same issue here.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Yes, actually I had it on on my OPO and I transferred apps from it to the OP3 using the installation wizard's nfc method. I did the reset, let's see if it did help..
I tested resetting notifications, did not help
Me too. Migrated from my old phone using the NFC transfer wizard. Old phone was setup to go to silent 10pm - 7am. It appears the setting is transferred over but at 7am the OP3 doesn't exit silent mode. I then have to toggle the switch to take the phone out of silent but still seem to have issues with notifications sounds afterwards.
I solved it by installing new custom rom and I didn't use restore function this time..
i too am having this issue. i attempted resetting all apps settings but that didn't work.
has anyone figured out how to fix this without factory reset or installing a custom rom?
Add me to the list and I set it up as a new device. Only had the phone a day before I applied the 3.2.0 update so I can't say if was happening before. Hope there is a fix for this soon.
IMO this is because Google is syncing the DND preferences from your Google account, regardless of whether you used the the whole "set up nearby device" thing
I have this issue except Silent mode automatically turns on throughout the day for me. I have factory reset my device and setup the device as new and the issue continues. Now I'm really unsure how to fix this.
Same issue and updating to 3.2.1 didn't fix it.
I've the same issue!
I've noticed that the sound (also from the notifications) can be turned on again (for that day) by switching off, and on the Alert Slider, and then adjusting the volume-sliders in settings.
I don't think it's a Google issue as I have 4 different phones on my account in the last month and none have done this. Just ordered another 6P while they were 20% off in warehouse deals so I'll swap over to this phone Monday and see if the issue follows. For now I'm playing with Tasker to reset all the volumes at 7am.
I've got the same issue. But I did not transfer any settings to my op3.
There's nothing in my "do not disturb" menu, and nowhere to set up automatic silent mode, as far as I can see.
Same issue faced, no solution or fix found up till now.
Me too facing the same problem.. Even in day time it goes automatically to silent mode. So incoming calls doesn't sound and it solves only when I restart the phone.. And after sometime the problem is occurring again and again.. Does anyone found the solution?
I had the same problem in my opo too..
Same here. Since the 3.2.1 update my OP3 sets to Silent overnight. Some has said it's True Caller Spam Blocker, but as I don't have this it's not a solution for me. Tried the usual reset but no luck. Really need a fix for this as I need to get important calls/texts overnight. Not a hardware problem that I can see as fine before update; broken afterwards, and the physical switch works very well.
Also, I've not used any restore function whist setting up.
It would be useful if people experiencing this problem could mention it on the OP support forum. I'm using the threads...

yes - please do and add @oneplus to your answer to adresse OP team directly. Thanks.
This is related to OOS only, i installed custom rom CM based nd didn't face this issue. Then installed.OOS no restore setup as new device still same issue with no ringtone.
The fix should come from Oneplus

XL Call reception problem

Hey...so here's an interesting problem...
I have a Pixel XL 128GB running on T-Mobile. Wifi calling is turned on. Whenever anyone on my contact list calls, the phone rings through normally. If the caller is not in my contact list, the phone will ring for 1-2 seconds, then the notification disappears and the phone goes silent, and after another 1-2 seconds, it starts again. If I just let the call play out, it will go to VM after the 3rd or 4th loop. My call log shows that there were 3-4 calls from the caller. This is consistent - it happens literally every time a non-contact tries to call me.
I thought it might have something to do with the call blocker app, so I uninstalled that - no change.
I changed wifi calling to Cellular preferred and then to off - no change on either.
Factory reset and sign in to account with no install of additional apps (other than updates to stock apps) - no change.
Changed to my wife's SIM still using my Google account - no change.
I am stumped. It seems like it is T-Mobile, but then how do they know who is a contact and who is not? This does not happen on the S7 Edge I came from (put the SIM back into that phone and no problems). Does anything else leap out to anyone to check or set or...?

no sound on voice calls - mystery problem

Hey! My wife has a t-mobile G3, stock non-rooted. It's running 6.0. She's had it for a year, and it's been fine (other than some wifi issues here and there). But in the last few weeks, she can no longer make calls.
The weird thing is the calls do "connect", but there's no sound either direction. For example, if she calls me, my phone will ring, but when I answer there is no sound either direction. Both of our phones show the call timer counting the seconds, as if they are both connected. If one of us hangs up, the other phone gets disconnected immediately---so the 2 phones are DO connect with each other, but no sound can pass. This happens with every number she calls.
I would have thought it might be a network problem, but she did a factory reset and it worked fine---until a few days later when it broke again. So I'm thinking it's software. Sometimes her phone will work for a few hours, but then it will stop working for a few days.
I've tried turning ON/OFF bluetooth, wifi, data, & wifi calling. I've tried changing to 2G network. I've tried different sound/noise settings. No change.
Any ideas?? Thanks

Network issue - Italian Career

Hello everyone,
I have a Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite which I use as a secondary phone.
I'm experiencing a serious issue which happens randomly during the day:
all of a sudden, especially after long sleeps, the phone seems completely isolated from the mobile network making it impossible to send/receive calls, although showing data coverage.
What I noticed during one of this episodes in the #*#*4636*#*# menu is that the phone is trying to connect to the preferred network NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA.
Switching that to GSM/WCDMA/LTE (PRL) revives the connectivity.
Any idea on how this can happen?
Thank you
I too am face the similar issues. I am running PixelExperience 12.1. I use two India SIMs with WiFi calling support.
As you mentioned, after long sleeps, the phone is not able to make calls or connect to receiving calls. Sometime, the call gets disconnected as soon as we answer and won't be able to call back. If the phone connects, the call is completely silent. Disconnecting and calling back works sometimes but most times, call doesnt go through. Putting it on flight mode and back sometimes makes it work. Sometimes restarting makes it work. Either way, its really frustrating.
I tried look at logcat output but I am not able to figure out what is going wrong because of the volume of things happening at that time.
Which is the OS version and firmware you are on? Stock MIUI? Or custom rom?
