Feedback request on application - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I have puıblished a watchface which retrieves your photos from Facebook and uses them as background.
The watchface receives photos from Facebook realtime so this is a very dynamic watchface.
I had thought that it would really get a lot of attention when publishing it. However, very few have downloaded it.
not many people are even trying it.
I guess there is a problem , but I couldn't find what is wrong. I'd really appreciate if some users can give me feedback.
Thx.
Here's the link to the free demo version:
https://galaxy.store/spdemo
There's also the paid version here, but since demo is not being downloaded, paid version is not the concern at the moment:

Image Sizes and Costs

I downloaded somewhere some image sizes - below are two. I am not too sure which one I downloaded these for / from. But can these icon information be used for Windows Mobile 7, Android, and iPad / iPhone?
From what I think I remember speaking with one developer helping him with testing his game, I think he said it was $99.00 a year for 100 applications. If I only wanted to submit one (free) application, would it be better to find someone that already has the feature to develop this application? The application is very small - mainly to read one specific RSS feed.
Hey
the developer account costs are not connected to the image license price. If you want to submit a WP7 app to the marketplace, you have to own a developer account, that costs $99/year. But this price does not grant the permission to use these pictures. You have to ask the creator whether you're allowed to use them.
Regards
Chris
Thanks - sorry I did not mean to imply I would use these images, I just did not know if it was these image (sizes / quality) that was needed.
If the developer has an account though and he develops the app that I need, can he use that account to upload the app?
Hey
For the licensing procedure and requirements you should visit this link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh184843(v=VS.92).aspx
But I don't get your question. If you're asking wheter you could have another developer programming and submitting the application you need the answer is yes. Every developer that has an account can send apps in. You just have to find someone that wants to create your application. Another possibility would be to program your app yourself and send the compiled version to a developer, so that he can pass it to the WP marketplace...
Regards
Chris
If you need an app built for something easy like an RSS feed, check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941248
it discusses a build your own app website.
http://thirdlabs.com/
I have never used it and have no afiliation with the site, but it looks easy enough...
Anywho, once the app is made, you can
sideload it (if you're unlocked)
pay for a dev account and submit it ($99 a year)
try to get a free student account and submit it (see here )
find someone with a dev account that will submit it for you
good luck
Thanks for the links! I have run into the RSS feed link - but it was not that site.
Yes, Chris - that answers that question. I thought as much but wanted to make sure. (Sorry it is difficult for me to sometimes get my point across due to my health).

[APP] Next2Me for Windows Phone 7 released

Hi Guyz,
Perhaps you all know Next2Me for the Windows Mobile 6.x OS. This app was quite successfull (one of the 10 most downloaded apps in the Marketplace) and also here at XDA-Developers, quite many people liked my tiny app. If you don't know it, here is the link to the corresponding thread: http://xda-developers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=619329
So, why am I writing here? Because I am going to port Next2Me to Windows Phone 7. And I want YOU to participate on that ! I don't want you to code for me, but you have the great chance now, to submit your feature requests here, to get the software you always wanted to have !
The port of Next2Me is quite envolved by now, and it is already working, so I would be able to send the current state of the software to the Marketplace. But I just want to let you send your feature requests, to get Next2Me even better as it was and now is.
Current feature list of Next2Me
o Location based business search using Google Local Search
o Show a map overview with all found businesses
o Show detailed information (address, phone numbers, etc.)
o Let you add the infos to the contact list, forward the contact by E-Mail or SMS or call the found phone number right from Next2Me
o Show your position and the target contact on a map and the route to the target
o Give you a directions to guide you to the target
So, as you can see, the software is quite envolved by now.
What features will also be implemented:
o Support different local search providers (Wikipedia, Bing, Yahoo?, Yelp?)
o Support free text search for local search
If you are still missing any features, THIS is your chance! Post your feature wish here, let's discuss about it and perhaps it will be implemented !
[UPDATE 10-19-2011]
Next2Me v1.0 has been released in the Marketplace. You can find it here.
Next2Me will be devided into a free and payed version. The free version will show a small ad at the top of the main window. The payed version won't show this. Also the payed version will received new features before the free one and some features will be in the payed version only. But the core element of Next2Me, the local search, will stay free.
But, If you'll buy Next2Me (I am planning to sell it for 99Cent), you will not just get rid of the ad and get some unique features, you will also support me and my dev projects .
Feel free to post any question or suggestions regarding Next2Me here !

i got a little idea. It would be cool if you could set it up so that everyday at a certain time it would set its self automaticlly to go somewhere. So if you leave for work at 7 everyday it would set its self for that location. Also would be cool to able to send your location to other people
I like the idea with sending your current location to other people. I think I will implement this feature ..
But: what do you mean with the other feature, setting your position at a specific time? Why should I do that? Every WP7 device has a built in GPS sensor, so I do have the current location at any time..
This sounds good, Bing does not provide Local search for my country so I need something else to give me access to Google's excellent business listings.
Will this be free / paid / trial-ware?
Next2Me WP7 release
Sorry guys for this long delay..
Finally, I released Next2Me for Windows Phone 7. You can get for free from the Marketplace.
The next version is already in work, with several more features.

I just had a look on the voice recognition, but I think I must disappoint you. There isn't an API for that at the moment and I don't want to rebuild a voice recognition myself. There are several solutions using web services, but this solution would be slow and doesn't work very well. Microsoft is already working on an own Siri called TellMe! I already registered myself for that API and as soon this is available on WP7 I'll implement this feature in Next2Me .

Windows Phone 7 SkyCat App

Hi,
I am the developer behind Windows Phone 7's Mockingbird IM application. I have gotten reviews from it, however, I am not currently working on upgrading Mockingbird IM yet.
Instead, I would like to announce a new application being developed by me. As stated in the description of Mockingbird IM, SkyCat will be coming to the marketplace soon.
However, I am in a little dilemma. I really don't know what features you guys liked or disliked on Mockingbird IM, I have given a whole new interface (without themes) to SkyCat. As one of the reviewers stated that the UI was clunky.
SkyCat will be replacing Mockingbird IM as a better IM client and will support multiple IM protocols (AIM, IRC, etc...)
I would love to see some feedback on the application if anyone wants to leave me some, detailed feedback would be nice so SkyCat will be in near perfection by the time it comes out on 10/11/11.
Thank you for reading my post.
Update:
Source has been opened and is available at http://groovyim.codeplex.com
THank you.
Update 2:
The application is now available on Microsoft's App Store, and is fully supported, you can buy it now for a limited time only at $0.99, it will go back to $4.99 on January 15th.
The version available on Codeplex is no longer updated or supported by us, and we do not recommend using it. Please find the latest version on the Microsoft App Store, and if you see any problems with it, please let us know and we will work on fixing it as soon as possible.
UPDATE:
APPLICATION CURRENTLY DISCONTINUED ON WINDOWS PHONE 7; FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY USERS WHO BOUGHT THIS APPLICATION ON WINDOWS PHONE 7 ARE ABLE TO GET IT FOR FREE ON iOS AND / OR ANDROID FOR FREE. PLEASE PROVIDE US PROOF OF PURCHASE, THANKS. PROMOTION ENDS 04/06/12.
Thank you.
Hi,
i just drop in here on my way to somewhere else... not a user of ur prog but very interested in the multi-messenger thing.
on android there is Trillian, which is also available on a select few other OS. I love trillian and the whole concept of it but it doesn't look like them gonna go for WP7.
Now, is your SkyCat supposed to be something like that? Because then i would most defo be interested in using it and would also be willing to test for you (on my wifes Telephone tho hehehe).

Hi,
Thanks for your interest.
I currently only develop for Windows Phone 7, as it is a great operating system. I believe everyone should be switching to Windows Phone 7, but to get that to happen, more programs need to be made available, which is the point of "SkyCat" (Officially named Groovy IM).
I see that the only multi-messenger application currently available for Windows Phone 7 is IM+ and that lacks many features consumers are wanting which is why Groovy IM is going to bring those features into one application for Windows Phone 7 and hopefully be better than our competitors over at IM+.
As trillian's userinterface matches that of Android's, mine will be matching Windows Phone 7. I do have some screenshots to upload today. As some people may be wondering what it will look like, however, be aware, this application is far from finished and I am only taking suggestions (not beta testers) currently for the application.
You can offer suggestions for Groovy IM over this forum (XDA-Developers.com) as I currently do not have a website devoted to Groovy IM.
Please note that only certain features can be shown as of this time and it may not be the final outlook of the program as it can change through out time.
Please see attached images for current design of application...

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in Groovy IM.
The protocols will not use Pidgin's source, however, some of the features included will come from Pidgin.
The supported protocols (as of this time) will be...
AIM / AOL / ICQ / iChat
Facebook
Google Talk
Groovy
IRC
MSN / Window Live
UnfairNET
XMPP / Jabber
Yahoo
We may add or remove some of the above protocols based on suggestions / requests received here.
You will not be forced to sign in with Groovy, however, you can chose to create an account and sign in on your own.
We expect a beta release (for anyone who is interested) to be released around 10/15/11, give or take a few days.
For those who wish to test the program, you may send us a PM and on the beta-release date we will upload our program as a private program to Microsoft's marketplace and release a link to where you can get it from the marketplace.
Thank you for your concern in helping Groovy IM become better.
Hello,
i am unsure if you got my point.
i am currently very busy getting into WP7, which i believe to be a very good OS. I am feeling a big lack of Multi-IM there tho...
Trillian is what i love(d) on pc and Android. Them just seem not to be very keen on getting onto WP7 themselves. So someone else needs do that job.
Obviously you try to.
You requested suggestions. I will try:
Keep facebook simple. Its basically already integrated into wp7, only lacking an interface that shows online buddies. so that'd be the only thing i'd wish for with facebook.
Try to have contacts all in one list no matter what service, but include means of sorting them by e.g service or state or name or both or all.
have a live tile that shows infos like join/part, online/offline msg etc.
make it run in background without dehydrating to keep it active (like whatsapp doesn't yet do - it delays msg when brought to halt).
have a very clear history regulation like have everything logged, have nothing logged, have a cloud-based log (use google cloud for example), have certain services logged, have only certain persons logged etc. Follow principle of: "User Privacy by default" - very, very important these days!
am sure there's more but cant currently think of more. I am rather simplicity- oriented. thats why i love wp7. its very minimal. keep the prog the same way. that'd be cool.

Hi,
Thank you for your concern with Groovy IM.
I agree Windows Phone 7 is a great operating system, however, lacks many features of matured operating systems, including but not limited to Multi-IM clients, better multi-tasking support.
I also believe that applications should stay simple - easy to use, get in, out and information from at the same time.
Facebook Chat will be integrated with a great contacts list supporting it.
I believe sorting by service, name, groups, and status are also great features, and as such, they are being integrated into Groovy IM.
Due to Windows Phone 7 not having true multi-tasking support applications cannot constantly run 24/7 as they can on Android or iOS. You must keep them open to constantly run otherwise Groovy IM will exit Chat Rooms, and log in at a set timeframe checking for offline IM's.
Groovy IM already has support for logging the things you chose and it will give you options to save the logs on your phone or through a cloud service.
Thank you for your interest.
Hi !
Would it be possible to support Skype as well ?
And, it is probably impossible, but could you find a way to keep the Wifi ON, while the phone is in standby ? so the application could keep synchronising even if the phone is in standby mode ?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes it would be possible to support Skype, Skype is planned to be added in a later release (Version 1.2).
The beta release (1.0) will not support Skype, and should be coming soon to those who wish to beta test.
I do not understand what you mean by "standby" mode on the phone. Do you mean when the user / application goes idle and the lock screen comes up? If so, yes, there is a way and a option you can turn on that will keep the application constantly running as long as it is opened and infront of the other apps.
Thanks.
Hi,
I am editing this post because I would like to share some pictures of Groovy IM once again with you all.
I hope these pictures don't make you too anxious for Groovy IM. Please continue suggesting ideas you would like to see in Groovy IM.
Anyway...
This picture is from the Groovy service.
The above image shows how Groovy IM's group chat looks on the Groovy service.
You will be able to change the color on your username of DarkRed to other colors such as DarkBlue, DarkGreen, etc...
Your friends color is based on the phones set theme color.
Thanks.
Kuzcoed,
sounds beautiful. What about the new Mango Multitasking? As i understand, there is a way to keep apps open and alive in the background if the dehydrate-key in the registry is modified to not dehydrate background apps. i understood, this means that the app is kept in working state and does not drain its contents from memory. am i correct?
Thank you for your work.
Yes, it is what i was meaning by "standby". Because, when the lock screen come up, the wifi is automatically switch off (at least on my phone, but i think it is because of wp7 no ?) and so i can't know if i get new messages.
And i agree with Sneakyghost, i think you should keep it simple. To me,it is important that kind of application to start quickly, as i am often switching between many applications.

Thank you for your interest in Groovy IM.
As of this time, there is no official support from Microsoft for full background multitasking, and I do not believe Microsoft will be integrating full background multitasking anytime soon.
As far as dehydration of your phone, I do not recommend it, and I do not believe Microsoft endorses the "hack" either.
I cannot comment on dehydation, as I have little to no information on it.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have not experienced that problem on my test HTC HD7. I cannot comment on your mobile phone as it may have the settings different than mine. If you wish to know more about "standby" mode please contact Microsoft. My application has a option to keep it from going idle however. When it gets sent back to the background it will open a notification thread which checks for IMs often.
Yes, I understand your concern and will try my best to keep the application launching quickly, however, have it have the features you and others want.
Thanks.
Hi,
We are pleased to let you all know Groovy IM is still going smoothly. We are curious to what the users think about one of the ideas our developers want to integrate.
The feature will keep your accounts constantly connected by having you register an account with the Groovy "WP7" service.
The Groovy WP7 service will require you to login to the Groovy WP7 in order to add accounts, connect with your accounts, and constantly keep them logged in and receiving IMs / Chat Messages.
The Groovy WP7 service will be a secured service that will require you to enter your pin number for any modifcations on your account.
Let us know if you will feel safe using this application if we integrate the Groovy "WP7" service, which will store all your accounts, account information, account messages, and more, on our servers.
Thanks.
Well, trillian also did that with their Astra service about a year or two ago. The user concern was very large but finally overcome. Many people are using this cloud based service now to store and retrieve sensitive account data and log files. they had the advantage of a long build reputation of a trustworthy software company. You do not have that yet.you will need to earn that trust with good software. You might want to wait for a later date with this feature. I for sure will not put login-information into any server-structure if I have no proof of its security.

Thank you for your interest in Groovy IM.
Yes, I believe we will wait on this feature until more users feel safe about using Groovy IM, or Microsoft allows the application to run even in the background.
Thanks.
We have a new update for everyone here...we would like to show our Aliases now on our buddylist. Please be aware this is not the final version. We have a feature turned on to put all users online under a group named "Online Users" as you can tell.
Please let us know what you guys think.
Thanks.
Hi,
We are pleased to announce another screenshot on Groovy IM.
We are also pleased to announce that the developers behind Groovy IM are stating the application should start being messaged to PMs within the next 6 - 10 days.

Cool. Looking forward!
Are the app colors following the system colors or will we have to live with that red?

Hi,
The background is based on your phone settings (e.g. Light OR Dark).
The background border colors for groups are based on your select Accent Color on your phone (e.g. Blue).
Thanks for your interest.
Hi,
We would like to update you all on the current status of Groovy IM. We have not given up on the project, we are adding more protocols than originally expected for the beta version. We hope you will not mind.
Thanks.
Hi, your idea is very interesting!
I'd like to suggest you a feature, i.e. "virtual contacts". Let's suppose I have various contacts of a friend, being of various or even the same protocol (MSN, private Skype contact, work Skype contact and so on).
It would be beautiful to me to be able to group all this contacts in a single virtual contact, built as an ordered list of each contacts. Communication will happen with the first available protocol "behind the scene".
what do you think about?

MetroTube is out!

I think Microsoft should stop fighting Google over their YouTube app and just fund these guys as they're making an amazing job.
The trial is fully functional but really they deserve to be paid for what they get you.

While I do love lazyworm, MS should never stop fighting as there is still no way to select which app is the default YT launcher and I'm sick of copy pasta. Plus its just crappy business practices on Googles part.

Actually you're right. That said, if they do get the green light form Google I would like them to fund Lazyworms and integrate it as an official app rather than starting from scratch. At least Lazyworms gives the app full support, the same cannot be said from whoever did the official twitter and facebook apps for instance.

are you serious? This is almost a replica of the Android YouTube app. Which is great, Metrotube offers more widgets/tiles.
I like how the subscription tile shows pictures instead of a number. I just don't like the heart, but I'll live with it. Also like how I can read comments and watch the video, reminds me of Android. Good update. They even responded to my questions.

I would love to pay to buy this apps but my country is still currently not supported by MS in marketplace and Zune, would not like a fake address live id approach, and would like LazyWorm to have another payment channel like moBudget (pay with paypal and download the trial version and it will work like the paid version...)
Forget it. All players seem to have a portrait video player with the ability to swipe left and right while the video still plays. They seem to have came up with the same idea on different sides of the earth.
Lazytube portrait mode didn't allow reading of comments while watching a video, the video played but you couldn't read and watch at the same time. This update made it possible to read and comment just Like another famous player. Yeah, its nothing like that other player though, I'll be blind.

While I do love lazyworm, MS should never stop fighting as there is still no way to select which app is the default YT launcher and I'm sick of copy pasta. Plus its just crappy business practices on Googles part.

i would really like to hear it from MS and google about what disagreement they are having. MS is bringing youtube to Xbox. So Google is not completly blocking them out. If google is blocking just for WP, isn't it abuse of market leadership? Google is already under fire for such behavior, I don't believe that's the case.
If anyone has links to any good, accurate information, please let me know.
Having said this, Metrotube is amazingly well done app. It deserves the name Metrotube as it beautifully adheres to metroUI.
Just downloaded this. Much better looking than the HTC Youtube (not that I complained about it).
Does anyone know if the free trial actually expires? Does it have all the features of the paid version? Perhaps the benefits to purchasing is gaining access to updates?
^ who knows. No one ever gave a definitive answer. I'll take metroTube anyway.
It probably is Google though, as there is absolutely no Google apps on this OS. However you have to look at the direct competition to Google which is Bing. So, its complex.

no differences, and it doesn't expire. You will get updates. He said the .99 version is to help them out.

As far as I'm informed there are no limits or registrations. Trial and paid version are currently absolutely identical. You should be able to receive updates as well. The only "limitation" about the current offer is: it won't last forever. Means if you want the full app for free, better get it now.
But honestly, I'd pay those $0.99 anyway (if I hadn't already done it months ago). In my opinion LazywormApps deserve a lot more than that.
I looked up the youtube API restrictions... I think this might be the reason
What can I do if I'm running into quota limits?
The following information may help you to avoid exceeding quota limits:
•The quota system ties API usage to a specific developer key, which means your application is less likely to be flagged for quota violations if it specifies a developer key in its API requests.
•Different types of API operations count differently toward quota calculations. Generally, you can make more frequent HTTP GET requests to retrieve data than POST, PUT or DELETE requests to modify data.
•Your application should avoid making API requests that do not originate from user interaction. For example, continuous requests that are a part of a background synchronization or bulk import process are likely to trigger quota violations.
If the API does return a quota violation error, your code will need to detect the error and handle it appropriately. we recommend that you stop all API calls from your application for 10 minutes to "reset" your quota. When you resume making API calls, scale back on the frequency of your requests.
If you are still running into the quota limits within these guidelines, and you feel that the quota is throttling legitimate traffic from your site, please contact us.

So I think Google is not willing to remove the limit for MS. If MS makes a dafault Youtube client, it is very likely to hit the limit as all WP users will be using it rather than other apps like Metrotube.
Other than that, I didn't really find any other restriction in the API.
The description in Marketplace says that the paid version supports HD video streaming. I'm guessing the trial is HQ only.
That said, my Focus seems to stutter even on HQ :/ Anyone else have that issue? Maybe I've dropped it one too many times, heh.

[APP][2.1+][Beta] Pho.to Lab - photo effects, frames and montages

Hi everyone!
We're looking for testers for our photo processing app named Pho.to Lab. It's a collection of more than 500 photo effects. These are mostly photo frames and photo montages. All the effects are applied automatically, so the app works more like Instagram filters rather than Photoshop. Warning: it needs Internet connection to process photos. If you're going to use cellphone data, you better not.
Pho.to Lab has been on the market since 2011, but we have completely redesigned the new version. I've attached some screenshots to compare the versions so you can see how different they are. And this difference is the reason why we are looking for testers.

We're looking for feedback on two things. The first one is, obviously, any kind of bugs. Weird fonts, erratic shadows, stuff like that. You know,he app redesign can work bad on devices with extremely small or large resolutions or ppi. The second thing you could tell us is if you ike the app design. Was it obvious how to use it? Did the app do what you expected?
To get access to the app, join XDA Android App testers community or Pho.to Lab Beta community. Then follow this link and, pretty please, read what Play Market says you. Just in case you don't feel like reading it: opt-in first, then click the link below, then click 'Install' button.
Feel free to ping me anywhere. This thread, PMs, comments in one of the communities, and G+ messages are welcome. And please remember that I live in Eastern Europe. If you're from America and you're posting your comment in evening, I might very well be sleeping. So don't worry if I don't answer your questions or comments immediately, I'll definitely get back to you a little later.
Please check out Pho.to Lab and thank you!
