downgrade note10+ from Q to Pie - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

I have a Note 10+ 512 I bought here in Italy from Samsung shop.
I upgraded to Androdi 10 but I hate it, for it sent many of my automagic flows out of whack.
I would like to downgrade to Pie.
Anyone else who could confirm is feasible? Any hint?
Thank you.

Should I get Honor 8 Pro ?

Hi, I am planning on getting the Honor 8 pro by the end of this week.i came up with a few doubts. I am switching from Moto G4 plus to Honor 8 pro and the EMUI thing has got me concerned.
1. Is it by any chance as good as the near stock android like feel of Moto G4 plus?
2. Is there a way of getting stock android in it without bricking my phone?
3. I just received the June 2017 security patch for Moto G4+ and it got me wondering, how will I receive these updates if I somehow manage to get stock android on Honor 8 pro?
4. I can even work with near stock like ROMs , like oxygen OS or CynogenMods or anything similar, but then, how long will be my wait before I get my hands on Android O after it is released. Is the Honor developer community very active? Or should I stay with EMUI expecting office releases?
5. I am not planning to get another phone for next couple of years and I am tight on budget. Am I doing the right thing by going for his phone instead of say 1+5 or LG G6 ? Or should I wait a few more weeks/months to get another "flagship killer" to be launched?
I am not very familiar with rooting and stuff so if anyone could guide me towards some resources to read about these, it will be great. Preferably Honor phones related rooting.
Thankyou in advance

1. EMUI looks similar with app drawer , not fully stock as g4 plus
2.updates are pretty fast now by huawei
3 .you will get the latest security patch.l
4.kernal is released we can expect good ROM development
5.RRos is so cool in this device ,AOSPA also.. best ROMs
6. if you are a flasholic better to go for OP5 .the development is soo fast there .
Your post seems like you want stock Android, if that's the case then you should go with OP5.

I would love to have OP5 but I am really really tight on budget, even 30K is stretching me too far from my budget. I just want to make sure that it's worth it. I am not a flasholic, I flash once in like 6 months, just to test out some other ROMS, just want to ensure that I won't have to dig the depths of the internet to get a compatible ROM.

I rather enjoy having more functions then stock android. This is not Samsung or LG amount of bloatware or wierd functions, but rather small improvements. Still fast and lagg free and I have no doubt it still will be in a couple of years.
The screen, looks & build quality and battery life are stuff that really impress and makes this a "flagship phone /killer". Also quite future proof specs.

Just for everyone to know, I finally bought Honor 8 Pro, and so far I am very happy that I did. Thank you all for the replies.
I even dropped the phone once from a height of around 4 feets (Unintentionally ofcourse) and apart from having a little paint removed from the top, everything is fine. Guess the build quality is good enough.
I remember reading about having a software upgrade soon on 25-26th of this month. Anyone has any update on that ?

Yes, this is great, not bad at all. I am just worried about the updates now, that's all. Other than that, EMUI is pretty sleek.

Even i am skeptical of installing it. I am using a Huawei device for he first time and thus don't know how to revive it if something goes wrong.
I made a seperate thread regarding updates. I will try to find some more info about how to install it.

any reason for preferring stock Android? what do you expect from "stock" experience? smoothness? or an Android without any extra features? and why?
EMUI has got it's own pros & cons.. there are some really good things that Huawei has implemented into the OS. there are also some quirks that they've never gotten to fixing..
in terms of security patches.. Huawei and honor, sadly, can be a bit slow. maybe like once every 3-6 months once.
but personally, I'm not too worried coz in the end, if you practise safe use, not an issue. before I got my honor8Pro, I was using Note 2.. and well, what security patch? haha..
wait a little

Moto g5s and s+ are one the way ... so might as well wait for them, and few other noteworthy devices are getting released, there's been meizu with dual screen.... I use honor8 pro... it has all the premium features on surface.... but not mind blowing, good cam, better screen , thin profile, premium finish and attention to detail are few highlights, but expected a lot more from emui, no native equalizer though dts certified, knuckle knock for screenshots works at its own will, not many customized options in features, only reason I'd go for non stock Android phones ks their skin embedded features whereas on stock Android you'd need an app..
Another noteworthy omission is no photobackup on huwei cloud, and system state backup seems to be non existent as well...
Few more points to consider is how Future proof is your phone, because you'd expect some resale value right.. from 30000 the fall of price might be steeper, so consider it all and jump the boat, meanwhile if you do buy honor 8 pro do get back with your opinion about the device and any good things you've discovered about it... it'd be nice to compare

GT2 with GT2 pro firmware

Hi, I just wondering how to flash GT2 PRO firmware to my GT2. Hardware should be the same... Any ideas?

Any new in this topic? There are few future for GT2 Pro but no for GT 2 ....

I'm very interested as well, it should indeed be possible since hardware seems the same.

Exactly!!!
We need some clever guy to find out how to jam the PRO firmware into it...
Until you have two pins in watch, not four, and you cant use USB connection to PC, and BT is locked to huawei health... Forget about that... Even if somebody will read firmware from watch memory, there will be no app tool ever to upload it into other watch...
May be posibble, but with standard tools, not via forum/internet... And with need to disassemple watch to get access to motherboard.
It looks like "the easiest" solution is extracting the firmware from health app and forcing the app to upload modified firmware... I am not definitely able to do that :-(
NFC upload? Maybe
I think that some effort definitely needs to be put on that watch... It has good hardware so why not have good software as well? Huawei adds one tiny feature every 2 months only to ensure new units will still be sold. I think when Huawei stops updating the watch we will all be on our own. I am definitely looking forward to seeing one with the skill required make a custom FW for it...
this would be great... you know, we can add .hwt faces via modded Huawei health app. So, there must be a way to cheat the updates of pro version. We just need effort of smart coder
Anything is possible!!!

Maybe Huawei will help us with GT2 PRO firmware... I am curious about the big update to HarmonyOS...
Wow that's still very nice news! At least we will have a working app store... for the first time!
However what if Huawei decides to ditch support shortly after that? Let's say after it manages to make a stable version?
The hardware of the gt 2 vs pro are the same? so should be possible to load pro firmware onto the gt 2?

Actually they have the same SoC. I know nothing about RAM but it should be identical as well... We should have the ability to load our own firmware on the watch regardless...

I guess that is not the issue.
The issue is that Huawei Watch3 Pro has 2Gb of RAM and runs Harmony OS, while GT2/GT2 Pro has 32Mb RAM and runs Lite OS....
I guess what everyone is questioning, including me, is that if Harmony OS can run on 32Mb, why would they launch the Watch3 with 2Gb?

WOW! What a piece of information right here! My guess is that if they were to upgrade the GT2/GT2 Pro to Harmony OS AT ALL (cause it might just be advertising to sell the remaining units), it would be a very very stripped down version and/or sluggish. My opinion.
Now the only thing that could rescue us is again custom development. A port of Harmony OS with an increased page file would be a great place to start from...
if can, honor magic 2 owner would be happy ..... our firmware not update after honor split with huawei.
sad for us.

Question T-Mobile Oneplus 9 Pro showing Qualcomm 855 Octa Core after A12 update

As stated above, after the S12 update l, my phone shows it has a Qualcomm 855 Octa Core processor. Got my phone from T-Mobile and I don't remember it saying that in About Device on A11.
Anyone else with a T-Mobile branded OnePlus 9 Pro seeing this after updating to A12?

I'm not overly concerned with it since it has my backup sim card in it. I am however not happy with 5 second maximum time for custom notifications and every time I long press for icons and click, it never opens. I like this phone, just hate what OnePlus did to it with the update.
Yeah, that's exactly what my phone says, too.

That's just odd. I have never seen a system update change the about device information before. I did see someone else with a OnePlus 9 Pro have their model number get changed when they updated to A12.
I will have to check my wife's regular OnePlus 9 and see if it changed any of the info on here's. I do know she is not a fan of the update and reminds me of it on a daily basis.

Odd for sure, but it is just text. Its not like it actually changed the hardware. It was probably the text block intended for a different device and OP didn't change it for this release. My old OP7 Pro has the 855, but I wouldn't have expected an A12 upgrade for it.

I had the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren that was only available on T-Mobile and absolutely loved that. In I loved it so much, I got it twice with a Samsung Galaxy S20 in between. My wife was not happy with me and the down payment I had to make on each device. The first 7T Pro was a Christmas present from her to me even though I got it when it launched in Nov of 2019,I had to give her the box to wrap and put under the tree.

Just checked my wife's OnePlus 9 and it also say it is running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Octa Core processor. It's just weird that it comes that way. At least it didn't change my model number like it did for some people.
I'm not overly concerned with and will just let it be unless something happens and I have to reset it.

The whole model number changing just depends on what msm they used. I'm on Indian firmware even though I'm in the US, and my model number is LE2127 and I have the T-Mobile variant as well. Not helping your concern, just figured I'd chime in.

One ui 5 for all note 10

Hi guys.
The Note 10 series is already in quarterly updates except for the lite model.
The reason for this thread is to make a joint request to Samsung to consider that the update to android 13 is not limited only to lite models.
A petition was created for it and all those interested in participating with their signature are welcome.
Thank you very much to all.

LOL, try smacking your head against the wall instead. This has been a constant thing since the dawn of Android.
Samsung WON'T upgrade the Note 10/Plus to Android 13 simply because it will bite into their sales....
They want you to get a shiny new toy, not play with that cruddy old thing you have now, and not supporting newer Android updates with all the nifty new features on your older phone is a way to make you upgrade...

It was released later.
Yes, it came out later but as one more of the note 10 series. That is the reason for the request. I understand Samsung's update policy but we are not talking about a single model, we are talking about the top-of-the-range family in its day. The stupid trend of releasing 20 models under the same name. Then these things happen and people get angry and rightly so.

Lol, why care? Android 13 might be worse than 12 especially for the Note even if Samsung did do it
I'm still running on Pie on this N975U. Current load is over 2yo, still fast and very stable with minimal maintenance. Security is not an issue... what's not to like?
Upgrades and updates can and do break Samsung's. No plans to touch my firmware as long as it's fulfilling its mission.

I respect your opinion and the decision not to update. It is true that Samsung is not always right with its updates and personally I think that one ui 4.1 and android 12 ruins the phone, it does not run smoothly, it has excessive battery consumption among other failures. But, did you try one ui 5? I'm running the beta on my s21 ultra and I think it's one of the best updates I've tried in years. Without being a final version, the improvement is very remarkable. This is another reason to ask Samsung to update all Note 10 series models. Forget one ui 4.1 and its bad optimization.
Salu2
Edit.
I want to emphasize that the only thing that is required is a signature. As written in the petition, it is completely free and donations are not accepted.

Thank you. I've seen Samsung upgrades/updates break phones too many times. Any improvement that could be had by upgrading be marginal at best with my N10+'s and more likely would be detrimental.
I have two N10+'s, one running on 9, the other 10.
That's what they came loaded with. I think the Pie variant is the best of the two. Never used Android 11 or 12 because I have severe doubts about scoped storage. Don't want it.
Be interesting to see a side by side performance test between 9, 10, 11 and 12.
At this point both Samsung and Google Android are completely off the rails. No desirable new flagships from Samsung and Google is still chasing down endless rabbit holes making their OS less functional and the user a slave to cloud apps/storage. Sorry, but I see no point in even trying to reason with either company.
No Sale, they both can just f-f-fade away...
Is potentially possible to get a Custome ROM for SM-N975F like copy 1:1 from Note 20 Ultra Android 13 OUI5.0 .
Maybe creating new upgrade ROM for that phones .
there is a phone called samsung m62.it has the same chip like note 10 plus which is exynos 9825.i think android 13 port can be developed for note 10 plus.they did that with note 9 as it has the same chip as note 10 lite
Is possible to port stock original ROM A13OUI5.0 from Note 20 Ultra, which is almost the same phone without chip and some other parts but have now upgrading and is the same series Note`s .

Hi.
Did you read the petition and the messages? The note 10 lite is the only one that will receive one ui 5. The rest, 10, 10+, 10+ 5g will not be updated. The signatures are few and they increase very slowly and I don't know the date of the update for the lite models although I am sure that when people start to see the great improvement that android 13 and one ui 5 supposes the signatures will increase rapidly.

Hi guys.
The Note 10 series is already in quarterly updates except for the lite model.
The reason for this thread is to make a joint request to Samsung to consider that the update to android 13 is not limited only to lite models.
A petition was created for it and all those interested in participating with their signature are welcome.
Thank you very much to all.

Hi.
It's time to share the petition en masse. It doesn't matter if you don't agree with updating to one ui 5. It's just a matter of ignoring the update but please help those of us who would like to update. Thank you very much to all.
