Hello all, thank you for reading my post. I cant seem to find the att stock rom image anywhere. Samsungupdates.com tells me that the file is not found and I cant find it anywhere on the forum. Would anybody out there happen to have a link? Any help is greatly appreciated. Im looking for it to help unbrick someones phone. It wont boot at all. But if I plug it into my computer and direct the drivers to the adb drivers I got when I installed adb, point it to the fastboot driver, the computer reconizes the phone. but if i go into cmd and type fastboot devices its just blank. or if i type fastboot reboot it says device not found. if i plug it in without the battery in the led light will stay red. the computer sees the phone, but nothing. if anyone could help i would be so greatful!
I think this is what your looking for. You will need to sign up for an account (its free) in order to download.

Hi,
Can anyone share the scatter file of Sony M5 Dual E5663. The only way to revive my bricked phone is scatter file. I can use these file in SP Flash tool.
If anyone can extract it from there phone it will be very helpful.
Here is the guide to extract the scatter file from Sony M5
http://www.droidgyan.com/scatter-file/
Is this still a possibility? Will it work? I hope someone can still do this for us.
try to figure out first if you can manage that sp flash tool recognizes your bricked device via connected usb com port. you have to install mediatek vcom drivers (google for it). this is essential before you can go further...
btw. you can download full firmware for your device via androxyde's flash tool. you can extract any .ftf rom with winrar but you will see that it does not contain any scatter file for your device. i've tried a random scatter file only to see if my bricked E5603 getting recognized as preloader vcom usb device in sp flash tool and it does not. it seems that this option is not working and my conclusion is that, after all that i've found so far, only a mainboard replacement is the solution as mentioned already by our experts.
Requesting Scatter File for Xperia M5 dual E5663
Hi!
I have a bricked M5 dual E5663 featuring an MTK-Chipset, and I hope to be able to revive it with SP Flashtool. However, I need a scatter file as a starting point, too...
THANKS if anyone can extract the scatter-file from the phone. In the downloadable firmware-images, there is unfortunately no scatter file included, so it would have to be copied from a "living" device...
THANKS, cheers!

Hi there! Thank you very much for trying! I am not an expert either, so I can't tell, why the option was greyed out.
Hopefully someone will be able to help!

Thanks! I tried. Anyway, it looks like SP Flashtool does not connect to the M5. IMO the MediaTek VCOM Driver does not associate to the M5 for some reason.
The M5 is identified as "USB Serial Device" using a native Windows Driver. However, it should appear as "mediatek Preloader Usb Vcom", according to http://www.yomitech.com/2015/04/how-to-install-mediatek-usb-preloader.html
I have not found any way to disable or uninstall that Windows naitive driver or any other way to make Windows connect the M5 through the VCOM Driver...
I played a bit around and extracted the E5603 Scatter file from my phone and converted it with MTK Studio. I hope this will help some of you

Alright, the output is the same like on the E5603. So the Scatter file is based only on the Mediatek MT6795 Chipset. I will change the Thread topic that all that need the scatter file can find it here.
I really would like to test a briked phone, to unbrick it. May someone would send me for this a bricked Xperia M5?

Your work is good for many peoples who bricked there phones
Peoples who are going to try this
I have an advice for them
Sp flash tool also has an option for battery
As with battery, without battery
You can try with chek and unchek them
Cause m5 has non removable battery
Scatter does not download to phone...

That's a great starting point !!! Thanks indeed for that scatter file!
Anyway, SP Flashtool does not download the scatter to the bricked M5.
It keeps trying but never gets to the progress bar that should appear.
I followed this guide:
https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-159.html
The phone appear as "USB Serial Device (COM42)" in the device manager. And meanwhile, the "Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port (COM26)" remains unchainched.
After a while, the "USB Serial Device" disappears again from the Device manager - but nothing at all happens in SP Flashtool.
Any useful hint???
There are a lot other MTK Tools that you can try to use like S-Droid toolkit 2.5. Its really not easy to manage all this. there are much .ini files like in SP Flashtool that could be tweaked to recognize our phone probebly. I just made a manualle partition backup of my phone and play now a bit around

I believe that the problem is, that my bricked M5 is only identified as "USB Serial Device", and Windows connects it to its native driver. However, it should appear as "mediatek Preloader Usb Vcom", according to http://www.yomitech.com/2015/04/how-...preloader.html
So MTK-Tools do not recognize that this the device that they are supposed to flash to... or maybe they are unable to use this windows interface and are looking for a device connected over the MTK VCOM interface driver. However, this does not happen...
I have not found any way to disable or uninstall that Windows naitive driver or any other way to make Windows connect the M5 through the VCOM Driver.
Any hint?
Updated the scatter file, seems there were some errors on it. now it should be correct.
I watched a bit around the logfiles from MTK Droid Sp Flashtool etc. It seems, that wen need yaffs2 support in the kernel, for that the tools can read correct our device.
Im a beginner of compiling a kernel. There are still some erors in my build environment.
Maybe here is someone who could compile the kernel with yaffs2 support?
Some update progress.... MTK Droid Tools
- Use SeLinuxModeChanger to set SeLinux mode to permissive.
- Use adbd insecure app
Now connects the phone correctly and the field gets green
Sadly the DTK Droid crashes when I start the backup and I get the error message that the sd card couldnt be find.

Apparently, the Scatter-file is the same. If you device is bricked, just try that one out... anyway the device can't be more bricked.
I tried - but I did not succeed. SP Flash tool did just not download the information to the phone, even though the drivers were installed correctly and the phone was recognized as Mediatek USB port on the computer.
If you succeed, please let us know how you did!

that it's because you don't have linked the files that are described in the scatter file.
i flashed a zte smarthphone in the past and the scatter file is only a map for the memory adress of the files that you could have , but i don't see any similar in the firmwares that i have downloaded , and yes i have a bricked M5 too .
i hope that the efforts of the comunity works, and one day all the red lights dissapear xD
sorry for my english , i hope that you understand
