Hello all,
Am using a G7 (LM-G710EM), and do use alternately both the stock camera and a GCam. Basically am happy with both, but there is an issue i could not fix. Y I do have an 128GB SD card, my device runs on android 9, did settle the default saving partiton the SD, the GCam software did create a dedicated folder for the pictures I do, but totally random they are (mostly) saved in the root of the DCIM/Gallery subfolder, NOT in it's dedicated GCam folder.
I know, it is a minor fact, but it's pretty unpractical to endless swipe down after all recent pictures are placed there alfabetically....and only then to find the rest of subfolders.
Anyone any idea?
Will post in comments screenshots
Thanks a lot

Try another GCAM. I dont save photos on SD, I dont trust on it. Couple days ago I used Xiaomi Filer to use FTP conection with my PC, I chosed SD Card as destiny folder, I couldn't to do the transfer, it can not Write on SD Card. Then I chosed Internal Memory and I do could to transfer files. Look like there is some app that can't write on SD Card/ external Card

i posted already in general but got no answers how to do this, and also posted in different threads.
if its impossible to do please tell me,
but i tried lots of things to change the photo save location but with no succes.
i want it to get them out of my documents and save them on internal storage/Pictures( instead of internal storage/my documents/my pictures.)
thanks for answers.
It seems to detect \Internal Storage\Pictures dir, but I want to be able to point it to my camera saves location.

Have you tried to install "Advanced Configuration Tool" software?
Than, under "Location" you could change the default directory to save image files..
Regards
GM
already tried without suc6, it always saves them to internal storage/ my documents???
think im giving it up,
trying to get photo save location out of my documents for days now.
tried lots of register editing and advanced config.
cant get them saved to internal storage/pictures
this is thing only thing i want to have working on wm6.5 then i love it.
but i searched whole forum cant find any solution.
think it always puts them to my doduments in internal storage, no matter what register i change
creates a folder in "Internal Storage" and rated "pictures" then you move your photos et voilĂ

The camera saves to internal storage- my documents- my pictures, so how can this work ?
The picture viewer is based on picture and video viewer and not HTC album which most use, you canot default the picture and video viwer to storage card so here is the conflict.
I have the same Problem.
Changing the Location for the Titanium Picture would be the best .
Because Camera only saves to my documents - my pictures
But I did not find anything like that in registry. But I think it must be there somewhere
ok.I found a solution.Just go with a registry editor (like total commander) to HKLM/software/HTC/camera/image and find SaceFolder_0409.then change it to "pictures"
(that worked for me)
EDIT: IF anybody has problems, just tell me to upload that key
Hi all,
I am trying to get android to work on my old Tilt2 for my fiance so we can play games together. I've gone through all the steps by adding the correct files to the root of the storage card and running Haret. Every thing seems to work "fine" other than the fact that I can't see a storage card while in Android. I tried to partition my SD card to see if that would help but I am unable to determine the proper way to do that. Any help would be appreciated
Do you have some type of file manager installed on Android? I know that I could always see it, with the exception of the Android folder on my card.

I've said this 100x, not sure why it never shows up on people's searches...
But backup all the data on the card. Format the card (full format, FAT32) using the HP Tool. Restore all the data on the card after the format, or start over fresh doesn't really matter. Apps should now be able to see the card, etc.
I'm not concerned about apps seeing the storage card. I don't have a "My Files" app that will let me navigate the card. Do I need to download a file manager in order for it to work?
I fixed it.. I had to download a file management app I feel dumb now.
Which App?

Astro is pretty good, and is included in AndroidApps folder IIRC.

Amusingly, I use multiple file storage apps. Super Manager for making system files r/w, and file expert for the look and feel. I have astro too, on my other phone, but only really use it for enabling all file type downloads from the web.

Hey guys I have a very annoying issue. My gallery app doesnt show up my pictures in my sd card. I moved pictures by file explorer of its own, and they all are gone from gallery app. Although it doensnt show the pics that are moved , it shows the pictures freshly taken into external sd card . But it doesnt show the pics I moved into it. The other fact is that when I unmount the sd card and mount it again, even the freshly taken pictures dissappear.!! but after that I shoot some more and they show up but old pics never shows up. My sd card is new and I have no other issue apart from this ( its class 10 , 32 gb ,kingston micro sd card.! please helppp !! (

Can you still find the pictures in the file explorer ? What folder did you move them to ?
Try downloading quikpic gallery and see if it finds them
They all exist in external sd cad and I can easily find em all just going through file explorer. I can find an open them there. They all in the folder that camera app creates. But gallery doesnt show them

Seems odd to me. For some reason it thinks they should be hidden. Normally the media scanner would pick them up. Are the formatted differently ?
I dont know which format it is but recently after having had this problem , i formatted it in storage menu of settings. And I put the files back on it but no sign of pictures in gaplery.but yeah thanks for quick pic app! At least it shows them all! But i need to find a way to get my gallery to work properly again
Have you cleared the data/cache for the gallery?

Yes , i did ot at my first try .but the same . I think my gallery app is kinda broken down for some reason.it seems to be working very well but, it has problem with external card. Maybe i should replace it but donno where to find it. I found some but they all are modified , not the original ones
Got to be a card issue. Move pics to internal or hard drive and format the card and see if it helps.

Phone could still have an issue veiwing them even though another will or your PC will
Hey guys Ive come up with news. I flashed succesfully synergy rom into my phone. And gallery had no problem showing pictures on my external sd card. After then I restore all the apps and datas through titanium backup that i used to backup all apps and datas from previous system . AND guess what ? Gallery has started not to show up the pictures in external again. I think an app is causing this but i dont know how to find out

My general rule of thumb is only use titanium to restore apps sparingly. I just keep an ext SD card with apks of the apps I want to install that aren't on market and use the playstore for all other. Flash synergy again and then do an app and check gallery, rinse and repeat. Might be tedious but worth it.
I used to have 2.3.6 GB stock ROM and flashed THIS JB 4.3 ROM Everything works fine but my Gallery app doesn't want to show my old pics at all... When I shoot new photos they are fine.. But my phone recognizes my OLD photos as VIDEO FILES and when I try to open them it asks me what app to use to open them showing video apps. This thread looks like the closest one to my problem. I hope someone can find a solution to this other than using another gallery apk.
(I can see and open my old photos using file explorer)
Using Galaxy S - I9000
Thanks for any effort..
Try out fish bowl gallery app and unlock all pics . They ll show up in gallery after this

hi, i'm Galaxy Note 2 user.
i have a lot of pictures taken from my phone in HDR mode, and that is verry important picture.
but there are one time, my ExtSDcard storage was full, so i move all my picture to Phone SDcard storage for a moment.
when i'm moving the Pictures, my Phone SDcard also full, and my phone was Lagging in couples minutes.
and after that, i saw in my Gallery the moved picture in my phone SDcard was not displayed, and there are error message "Load Failed". i cannot open the picture files in any File Explorer apps, and in my PC as well.
there are 16 pictures damaged in this case, and untill now i dont know how to recover it.
i have search alot information, but no one help me.
please anyone, if you know how to fix this problem, tell me..
i need your help, please,,,
is there anyone have same problem with me?
is there any solution?
please....
If the pictures were originally on your external SD card then you can run a data recovery app against it and if you haven't added any new files to the card since you did the deletion there's a pretty high chance they're still sitting there. Data is never deleted directly it's just marked as deleted (essentially) and then later files added to the card will overwrite any older data over time. I've never had to do this myself but Googling for free image recovery turns up quite a few results.
I connected my phone to Windows 10 laptop and copied over a folder I download from torrent to the laptop and then I was going through the folders I had in my storage and saw that there was one named 'sdcard'. I opened it and saw there was 'UC Browser' related folder (I think it was UC Downloads but don't remember it correctly but sure there was UC in the name). I deleted that folder happily thinking I cleared some useless folder and then I ejected my phone and opened gallery and all photos were grayed. No thumbnails. I restarted my device and BOOM.... ALL MY FILES WERE DELETED. there were only Android and Whatsapp (but no media was present) folders and storage was empty. But all my installed apps are there and they work like normal except the games which had files in SD card (like asphalt xtreme, Angry Birds 2)
Soory for this long boring story but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE somebody tell how did that happen.
What actually happened?
Were was the fault?
Anyone else faced this issue ever?

Yes and no.
Yes ---> when you boot to TWRP and go to "Install", you will be in a folder named "sdcard". It is the folder where you can transfer files into it from the computer (vise versa), install ROMs, etc.
No ---> OnePlus 3 doesn't have an SD card slot.
Let me know if you need more information.
Also, I've posted a guide to solve a lot of issues with the latest Nougat release. Check it out: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-flashing-oos-v4-0-1-custom-rom-t3537757
If you connect laptop to 1+3 in TWRP, sdcard it's youre internal memory.
If you connect laptop to 1+3 in system, internal memory it's where you got youre media, documents, etc. Youre sdcard it's from the rom.
Recently, i was on a rom and i have a 0 directory. And in it was my pictures, music, movies. They are moved inside of 0.
That happend to, on my HTC One m8, when Android 6 was new, about a year ago.

I think to have understood the issue: you've deleted the entire Internal Storage (aka /sdcard or /storage/emulated/0).
There is no other reason.
Luckily, both system and installed apps are stored with their own configurations in /data partition, that's different from the Internal Storage.
To recover files, you can at first try with Android software: GT Recovery.
Otherwise, you've to look for commercial PC programs:

I never installed twrp. I have been running it all stock all the time and always used the default file manager.
And let me get more detailed about the folder I deleted: the folder named 'sdcard' was located in root directory that is in the same directory as there are other folders like Android, DCIM, Downloads, Pictures and others. It appeared like any other folder.
I had taken a full backup of the internal storage in last week of November and saw that there was no folder named 'sdcard' there.

I find it much strange (like the name of your thread ).
/sdcard should be seen as a folder only when you are browsing device with root permissions (and in rare contexts).
Because via PC or non-root File Manager, that folder is shown as Internal Storage, so can't be deleted.
Folders like Android, DCIM etc. are subdirectories of /sdcard, so you erased that too.
Regarding TWRP recovery: it backups only /data partition, because of more convenience.
Internal Storage shouldn't be erased after factory reset or firmware changing, then it maybe very big.
Personally I'm in disagree, because user should be free of doing "uncomfortable" choice.
