I have a Spring G7 ThinQ cross flashed with ULM firmware, with bootloader unlocked. I wasn't very pleased with the lack of modifications I could do with LG UX, and wanted to see if I could flash the Pie AOSP that worked on any G7 except the T-Mobile version. I followed the instructions on this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/development/twrp-twrp-3-3-1-0-lg-g7-thinq-t3954012 however I got unexpected results. I get LGE crash handler saying kernel crashed, when I try to boot into TWRP, or system. I was on Oreo and the instructions did say to be on Pie, however this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/how-to-bootloader-unlock-g7-thinq-t-t3963568 advised against updating to ULM Pie, as I would then lose fastboot on the device. Am I stuck on ULM Oreo to have fastboot and root, or is there something else that can be done?

Hello, all very warmly on the forum
I am asking you with a very polite request for information whether TWRP Recovery is already available
which can be installed on a locked Bootlader in the LG G4 h815?
I currently have an Android 6.0 MM smartphone in it.
As described in the Google Play Store, the official recovery application is available for download
TWRP - there is no description in the description for it to be unblocked
bootloader.

With a locked bootloader, you need to install this one:
[TWRP][any G4][BL LOCKED] TWRP-in-FIsH for all LOCKED G4 devices by steadfasterX - it works a charm ... but ... you will need to downgrade to Android 5.1 and root your phone first. Note: You will not be able to install custom roms as long as your bootloader is locked.

An Official Oreo edition for LG G4 h815 has not been released as far as I am aware, nor is it likely to be since very few LG G4's have even had a Nougat version release, let alone an Oreo release.
If you want Oreo you will have to unlock your bootloader and install a custom rom. Can't comment on stock Oreo vs Nougat optimization, nor can anybody else, I suspect as far as the LG G4 - you'll have to check the LG G4 Android development forums to get an idea from the custom rom versions being devloped - AOSCP or Lineage - both are not fully stable as yet though - Nougat versions are currently better as daily drivers.

Hello, thank you for your answer. Currently which version of Android Nougat 7.0 is the best optimized? Send a link.
I'll ask, if you have H815 there's a high chance you can save your time and effort and just unlock it with official LG unlock method.

Do you want to record a video like you enter the twrp from the combination of power buttons by volume down? Please, write in this method did you make your LG G4 h815? > https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/howto-complete-guide-to-unlock-twrp-t3370003
I was flashing this method from this link - but from the command in the recovery terminal it runs to a temporary one. The command for flashing enters the terminal, however, the twrp will not be taken from the combination of the power and volume down buttons. Therefore, write which application to flush root in Android MM 6.0? The application from the Google Play oficialna store to TWRP Recovery requires the root done earlier. I am asking you for your advice.

So, you're saying that you have flashed TWRP to your boot partition and asking how to revert it back? Easiest way would be just to reflash ROM(it will overwrite boot partition) or you can download Titan kernel and flash it instead(download it on PC and use USB MTP to transfer file to G4). If you want to ask how to get to TWRP via key combo then I'll tell you it's quite simple after few times especially if you're good with using your G4 one handed. When phone is off press and hold both volume down and power, then when you feel vibration and see LG logo release power button(but keep pressing volume down!) and the after briefly a second hold both buttons again. If you succeeded factory reset prompt should appear. Then press yes twice and you're in TWRP(don't worry, nothing will be wiped, it's just how LG's bootloader work). I unlocked my G4 with official method like 1.5 year ago(there wasn't unofficial unlock back then) but I did a backup of my stock v20g software with relock possibility(in case of bootloop). Now you can relock officially with Nougat bootloader

Hi, I have the LG G7 H990ds with android 8.0, and would like to update to 9. However, android 9 blocks voice recording of interlocutor on the other side, which I would like to circumvent rooting the device. Any news on this, and once it's rooted can I revert it to stock?

Hello all,
I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this one out. I have long ago unlocked the bootloader and have crossflashed my G710PM to ULM. At this point my main goal is to flash lineage to this device. I had originally bricked the phone flashing a V30 experimental bootloader, seeing as it was my daily driver, I went an purchased a new phone. Now I'm back to work on this phone as a project, and with a quick QFIL flash, I'm back to square one.
I have only been able to access fastboot when I have the ULM11g firmware flashed to the phone, as far as I'm aware, you can't flash TWRP using this version so I flashed ULM21d in order to get TWRP on it. I wasn't able to get to fastboot from this version so I tried flashing the Euro firmware EM20b. Once again, no fastboot. I've made multiple attemps to find the abl-a image for the ULM version with no success.
I'm determined to get lineage on the phone.. Any help as to where I should start would be hugely appreciated!
Flash Ulm11g again and ab_a then flash ulm20e or 20
Hello Wise men and women. I recently bought an LG-G7 ThinQ secondhand for what I thought was an excellent price. When I got it home and looked at the phone details I noticed why. The phone is rooted, bootloader unlocked of course, with Magisk and no custon recovery, operating on 8.0.0 firmware. I knew all of this when I bought the phone and had no issue with it figuring I would just upgrade and take it from there. The model says LM-G710 according to 3cs, 6.1 screen, G7 Boot image, so I am confident it is a G7. Under Hardware info and when attempting to use LGUP or LG MSTool however, it is seen as LM-V35OULM. In Terminal the phone is seen as Judyln, but just about everywhere else judyln_lao. The firmware is currently V35_11g, and I would really like to upgrade it to 10 when all is said and done but right now I have reached the clueless stage. Any ideas on how to go about fixing this problem?
On a side note the IMEI, MEID and ESN all read goose eggs. I was able to get service to the phone and even register it with LG (unbelievably) so at this moment I really don't care unless of course that would keep me from upgrading. Not sure if its pertanent but it seems odd to me.
Also, I am not a developer but would classify myself as a phone nerd and I'd like to think I'm not totally helpless here. But, that has been the outcome of every attempt to fix the problem up to this point. Out of curiosity I even tried to upgrade using V35 firmware figuring it was worth a shot but that didn't work either. LGUP likes to remind me that nothing seems to match and that I am a moron for not looking closer at rhe phone before I bought it. Live and learn I suppose. Hopefuly.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
I'm only guessing but it sounds like one of the abl_a or abl_b partitions have the v35 engineering fastboot installed perhaps?
Can you get into fastboot? Does the phone display a LM-G710... model in fastboot? If it displays a V35 model than thats why
The v35 gets put onto the abl partition when people want to unlock the bootloader via the EDL (9008) method.
If thats the case you need a G7 abl partition copy. If you get into EDL mode and reflash either or both of the abl partitions and laf partitions you should be able to get download mode and then flash a rom using LGUP. (laf partitons contain the download mode)
I understand the bootloader is unlocked but if you read a G7 guide on unlocking the bootloader what I've been saying might be a bit clearer
Hi, i just got a LG G8 ThinQ Verizon last night and i wanted to install lineage OS for it but when im done unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP 3.3.1.0, my phone just keep booting into TWRP and saying no OS installed, it couldn't reboot into system or fastboot or edl, is there any way to fix this?
Verizon doesn't support custom ROM, for your case, please flash the original firmware

Im trying to flash the original firmware into my phone but it cant boot into edl mode, which is needed for flashing stock rom.
dont plug your phone in usb while booting into edl, most of the case it wont work if you plugged in
if it dont work, force shutdown your phone and try EDL combo again
