I have no access to Amazon USA app store for the slingtv app, and had tried side loading play store version, however I always get the google play services error when trying to install. Log on to Amazon.com. Create a UK address. Go to your account --- Manage your account and devices --- Settings --- Change the country to UK.
Go to http://www.amazon.com/ITV-Player/dp/B00PH7XGQG to get ITV player.
In your Fire TV go to settings--- your account and click on sync account. You will be able to see ITV Player.
Is it not possible to find the APK independently, put it in dropbox and then download it onto the Tablet?
Yeah that can be done too. There are many sites which give you apk when you enter the play store URL of the app. You can google search them.

I want to give a gen 1 Fire Stick to a friend and I am unable to install HBO GO app as it requires a minimum SDK 23.
I tried to decompile it and modify, but I get errors when recompiling.
Can someone help me and modify minimum SDK to 21?
If yes, I uploaded the app to google drive and can provide you the link in a private message.
I mention that I have a personal account for HBO GO but the European version is different from the US one, it can only be installed on Android 6+ compared to US that also works on 5.

Are you saying there's no HBO Go app for the Fire TV 1? I find that hard to believe.
