Force USB Tethering? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Questions & Answers

hello everyone
Trying to find a way to force USB tethering... I have a wifi version of the tab s4, and trying to use Duet, (2nd screen for PC) and cannot get USB tethering as its a wifi model thus the option is not there.
is there a way to force the option to show, or a ADB command to get it to show?
the air/wifi of duet is not the best and would rather hook it up via USB instead..
Any insight would be great!

Anyone?

Maybe try setedit..and grant it permission through adb and look through there....it's an idea

[Q] Disable MTP?

Hi,
is it possible to disable the MTP connections automatically established when pluging the Nexus in?
I wouldn't want a public computer I might connect my Nexus to for charging to be able to read my storage.
I know I can switch it to camera, but that's just a workaround. With "normal" Android devices (with an sd-card), you always need to hit "enable usb mass storage", it would be nice if there were some option like that in the Nexus.

Thanks!
How does that affect the MTP, though? Still possible? How about adb or any other kind of connectivity?

[Q] Any way to root without USB?

Hi All!
A while back I had some usb issues (kept going into car mode, grrr) - so I managed to fix it by hacking a little bit of the USB port away. I went back to stock rom just before I did this also, so now cannot connect via USB to root.
Anyone know a way of doing this without adb via USB?
Hmm... Without using `adb` this might be difficult. ICS builds now have a cool feature that allows you to connect to your phone over your local network using `adb`.
Why can't you use `adb`? Are you not very good with Linux shell environments or does your setup restrict you in some way? I guess a bit more information about your current setup and situation would help others and I offer a more tailored solution to your problem.
I can't use ADB because I've mangled my USB port - it only charges now via USB nothing else (charges slowly also ).
I think I'll have to get the USB port repaired!
What ROM are you using at the moment? Some allow you to use adb over your Wifi connection.
Yeah I suggest changing the USB port or use another comp.

[Q] Program Galaxy S III without USB cable

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a way to program (Make apps) on your PC (With eclipse or any IDE) and while debugging, instead of having the IDE communicate with the device via USB, have it communicate with the device via Bluetooth or any other way thus avoiding USB.
I'm new to android programming and so far is awesome except for the fact that I tangle my self with the USB cable alot.
Thanks!
CyanogenMod has Debugging over network I believe.
I use ADB wireless app from play it lets me connect with my gs3 over my wireless network for adb push pull not sure it you can use it for programming I never tried other than pushing apks

[Q] Is Control Android from PC without root and USB debug possible?

I just tried using VMLite VNC via WiFi, it works good, but a little bit lag.
I want to control my s2 with PC because I want to play a specific game with a mouse pointer (my finger seems to be too thick that it functions in both blocking my sight and inaccurate touch very well). However, it is too laggy using VMLite VNC via WiFi. It cannot use via USB Debug due to unknown reason and even if it works, the game would be automatically closed when root access is on or USB debug is on (when I play on the S2 directly I have to turn both off).
I just greedily wonder, up to now, is it possible to control an android device with a PC via USB or other effective means without root access and USB debug so that a smooth control of the android device could be achieved.
For my case, if the root access and USB debug is just for initiation and then the remote control can work without them would be perfect already, like VMLite VNC I have to initiate it via USB Debug then I can turn USB debug off without disconnect the remote control.
EDIT: I resolved my problems on playing games by enabling some pointer related option in developer option, but still, I wonder is it possible to control an android device with a PC via USB or other effective means without root access and USB debug
You could try TeamViewer - they make an app for Samsung Galaxy phones.
You need TeamViewer on your PC and TeamViewer QuickSupport app on your phone.

OnePlus3 Lan

Hello there,
I've had constant problems with my wifi reception in my room, so I decided to move to ethernet on my phone, at least for streaming video content.
Next I did order this https://www.reichelt.de/?ARTICLE=165094&PROVID=2788&wt_mc=amc141526782519998&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwevLBRCGARIsAKnAJvdjdNWKYiUvEuktVoxBqvco-mV6dL5eAIaDVH68KX7jdTnmxVvdytYaAn-CEALw_wcB Lan to Usb type C adapter...
Aaaand it is not working...
looking at this tutorial, I think I should just be plugging it in and then seeing the icon in my status bar, right?
but I am not...
My guess would be, that I need an usb OTG adapter for whatever reason.
Sadly I do not have any other usb type C enabled devices to test the adapter, but it gets warm and is detected by my switch, so I guess it is working.
Has anyone in here experience with connecting a OP3 or in fact any Android 7 phone to Ethernet?
thanks a lot for help with this!
If your intention is to get internet via cable, and you have a laptop or pc in your room, you can simply keep the ethernet in you pc/laptop, and then use an reverse tethering app, to get the internet on your phone using your usb cable. I remember doing this a couple of years ago when i had an samsung galaxy mini
Quell this would not be in my intentions, but if it is the only way...
Did anyone in here try to use a Oneplus 3 with Ethernet yet?
Btw, I am on stock Oxygen OS and would like to stay there, as I would like to use my phone for mobile payments in the future.
