Does anyone here found out that the map it function is missing from the "my windows phone" site?
I had found a similar issue with the thread below,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1050891
but another question arise, how about those countries that are currently unsupported?
Like myself, in Malaysia while I cannot keyin my phone number now...
I can do that (Map it) before the official Mango update, but now... sad case... Just want to share with you all and to remind those who's country is unsupported to check it out.
On the left-had side, right below the image of your phone, there is a link with the text "Find, ring, lock, or erase your phone." Click on it and it'll take you to the mapping feature. It may be that your country isn't supported at the moment, however, since you were able to map it before, I don't know why you shouldn't be able to now.

This is the problems, the option is missing and from the thread I linked to, it show that you need to update the phone number to have this option, but Malaysia is currently on available yet, thus no luck huh?
Same here. No support for Venezuela.
Hi everybody, I usually don't like to make my first post a question but I've been trying to figure this out for a month and no luck. Here goes!
First off, the device isn't a note 2, but judging by the build number I think it is knockoff samsung which is why I'm posting it here and not in the general forum. Here's a pic of the info:
Device is a 'Hyundai P700'. I don't think it actually made by hyundai, just a knockoff using the name. I got it to use as a cheap 3G tablet, but I like it so much I'm using it as my main phone(get lots of funny looks when I hold it to my head).
I'm running it on NET10's BYOP with the AT&T sim. Everything works fine except the 3G. Specs list it has
GSM quadband and WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz.
I'm pretty sure the problem comes down to the 850MHz band(used here for att 3G) being disabled as it isn't intended for the american market.
I have tried and tried and tried to get into the service menu to no avail. The only MMI code it will take(I've tried dozens) is *#*#4636#*#* which brings me to this menu:
As you can see it only lets me select two options, neither of which give me 3G.
I tried installing a service menu shortcut icon, but again that gives an error. All of the dialer codes
that begin with *# and end with # give me the error 'no network connection or invalid MMI code'.
I'm really at a loss. I found a thread that shows how to inject some code straight into the root folder which looked promising, but that's way beyond my expertise with computer/phones.
Here are some other screencaps that may prove helpful:
Any help with this would be awesome! Being on edge data is like being slowly tortured, literally!!!
Edit: So apparently I can't post links to pictures yet. Here's the album with the screen caps, just remove spaces. http: //s194.photobucket.com/user/redtibo/library/Hyundai%20P700?page=1
Here is a way to find out what band/mode is available:
1) From play store, download and install "HiddenApp"
2) Run HiddenApp, it lists all apps in your phone even apps don't usually available in app list.
3) From the list, scroll down and find apps named "EngineerMode".
4) Press and hold "EngineerMode", it creates a shortcut in your home screen.
5) Exit from "HiddenApp" and go to home screen.
6) "EngineerMode" appears in your home screen.
7) Press "EngineerMode", then scroll down to BandMode.
8) Press "BandMode", it shows all available bands.
9) It shows GSM and UMTS modes.
10) All bands (grey out) are not available on your phone.
11) All bands (text color in white) are available on your phone.
12) You may checked and/or unchecked any band with text color in white but not grey out.
13) You may take out a few bands but not adding more.
Please take a few picture if "HiddenApp" work for you.
Awesome! Thanks for the response! I had never heard of that app before and it sounds promising...
I can't test it though because the darn thing bricked itself. Booted into a factory test screen and was completely unresponsive. It's on its way back to the manufacturer for a replacement or a refund, still on the fence about that. If I do get a replacement I will try this first thing!
Hi, I've come from a Z2 as couldn't get on with it. So far I'm very impressed with G3, though when in the shop I saw it had an option on the lockscreen to tap the numbers 1-4 in succession and the numbers appear in a bubble and they move across the screen as you tap a number. I presume it was a version on knock on. I assume it isn't carrier specific but I do not have it on my unbranded G3 (Its runnning V10L). I'd hate to come across as a noob but has this option been replaced by updated firmware? The only other option I can think of is it is some sort of demo function for use in stores.
Thanks for any assistance...
Ross
Carrier Specific
Well to be honest I've flashed almost all the firmware that LG has released and I have never seen that before, so I'm thinking that it may have to be carrier specific and by the way I have the D855 unlocked international version. I hope that I helped you.
Hi I am pretty sure that is a demo function to show people how the knock-on works.
For the real thing, it will not be much of a pass-code if the phone shows you the sequence to knock!
i got the unlocked version of fire phone, but doesnt seem to be working on airtel/vodafone India
i can see the network connected, but cant make/receive any calls ; same with sms
data seems to work though
calling 911, works i.e. atleast gives me a network operator error that the number is invalid; all other number the call just ends
any idea, how to get this working ? i have even tried to factory reset but doesn't help
amazon support, was not able to help; they just said its US compatible only and asked if i wanted to return the device
The phone supports the following frequencies and bands: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz), Quad-band GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), 9 bands of 4G-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20), supports carrier aggregation
What frequencies are used by the carrier your having problems with? Also, make sure the SIM is inserted correctly. The contacts go down and the cutout faces away from the phone.
facing the same issue
Hi,
I am also facing the verify same issue, I am able to see the carrier and get signal but am unable to make/receive calls.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Is there any settings that need to be changed ?
:crying:facing the same problem, if there are someone really out there who can help us please do....
CAll Amazon
I called up amazon with the same issue. They accepted the fact that there are many with same problems in India. They are working on a fix and will keep me updated. They added my serial number and registered account to the internal Ticket created for this issue. I recommend you all to do the same and get added.
Moreover, they took some debugging data from my phone after approval so I belive you guys should do that to provide them with more data to fix this issue.
Will it not get activated automatically for Indian users
Rather than providing data to them
Nano Sim
Did you try using a new nano sim from the carrier? There may be an issue if older micro sims are used after cutting into nano sims.
Got a new nano sim from vodafone
I got a new nano sim from vodafone and its still the same .
Now only daru666 can help by letting everyone know what feedback he has from Amazon and if it works.
What should we do ? I am sure some update from Amazon technical team can fix this issue....
Anyone tried it in Delhi. Even if voice works, I am fine with the phone.
I can return it it next few days, so any confirmation would be very helpful...

An issue could be that the IMEI code of fire phone is not under registered or under whitelist category of Indian operators. Hence not able to make calls.
For this to happen, amazon will need to give IMEI list to the operators here to add to whitelist. Or it can also be checked with the operators if they recognize the IMEI nos of fire phone.
That would be helpful to us
Did anyone try flashing an android ROM to make it work in India?
Or is this lock hardware controlled?
Same Problem
Same problem....... :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Not working with INDIAN SIMCARD.
Loved the mobile But .....................
Shall i return it (or) keep it..........?
Hello Guys,
Please send an email to [email protected] with the below details.
Amazon needs the following details to find a solution to this issue.
1) Name of network SIM used
2) Did the store/anyone cut the SIM to get it to nano size?
3) Help us by providing logs of your Fire Phone.
To send us logs, please follow below steps:
1. Press the Home button.
2. Swivel your phone or swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Actions panel, and then select the Search icon (magnifying glass).
3. Type ";dm" (without quotation marks) into the Search field. You can find the ";" key by tapping the “?123” key.
Tip: If ";dm" is auto-corrected by your device, tap "dm" in the word choices that appear above the onscreen keyboard.
4. Tap the Search key (magnifying glass), and then wait 60 seconds.
5. Connect your device to your computer using a micro-USB cable. When your device is plugged into your computer, it appears as a removable mass storage device.
6. Open the Fire phone folder (titled "Fire") on your computer, and then open the "Internal storage" folder.
7. Open the “KindleLogs” folder. Drag each of the files within this folder to your desktop.
Note: If you only see "DCIM" and "Pictures" in the "Internal storage" folder, this means your computer recognizes your device as a camera. To change the USB connection type, open the Quick Actions panel on your Fire phone, tap the "Connected as Camera" notification, and then select File Transfer.
8. Reply to this e-mail and include the logs as an attachment.
The total size of the attachment(s) must be less than 6 MB. You will need to send separate e-mails if the size exceeds 6 MB.
After you've e-mailed the log files, delete them from your Fire phone.
LET ME KNOW WHAT RESPONSE YOU HAVE FROM AMAZON ON THIS.
What is the response from Amazon???
I am also facing a similar situation
Amazon is casually asking me to return the phone and get a full refund. The refund process also looks too complex. Why it isnt working in India alone? They told me that
Although, the Indian carriers provide the network bandwidth which is required for the Fire phone, IMEI's of the Fire phones were not added to the carriers outside the US, so currently the Fire phone will not work with the carriers outside US.
When pressed if they would even rectify it by mid next year, they said that currently they arent working on it. They call a phone which doesnt work with any sim other than the U.S. an unlocked one. Still they are selling the phone at $449 calling it unlocked and when people face an issue they say its Unlocked only in the U.S. This looks like a complete fraud.
Any updates?

Did you return the device? Even the return procedure looks pretty complicated.

We should press amazon to find a solution to this and deliver a fix ASAP considering how big the Indian market can be for them for their inventory of fire phones that are unsold. Moreover, Motorola had similar issues with Moto E And Moto G and they had worked out a solution in 15 days. Amazon can also do the same provided they are serious on fixing the issue.
From what I understand, they need to give an update list of fire phone IMEI's to the Indian carriers who will update their systems accordingly.
The more all of us push, the more we have a chance that Amazon acts faster.
Hi,
I have Z Fold3 5G SM-F926B/DS
I love the possibility to change bands (especially on LTE) using this app Samsung Band Selection: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.samsungbandselection
But if I run it on my phone, I get this: Error: Hidden network settings activity not found on device.
May I ask what is the problem and how to get this feature?
Thanks in advance.

The link you gave has your answer in it: read the last question of the FAQ in the last pic on the link.
You can choose bands using the phone pad method (those of us who had T-mobile had to do it to get our cell connection to stay on before they finally fixed it with an update), but why would you want to? (Search for the T-mobile issue on this forum if you want to know how.)
The problem most probably is that some questionable decision by Samsung depending on the country leads to blockage of calling those functions. With mine, codes such as *#2263# or *#27663368378 don't work either (tested with EUX and XID FWs).
If rooting is an option (for me, out of principle alone I couldn't be without it), then you can call those menus via a terminal session as su:
am broadcast -a com.samsung.android.action.SECRET_CODE -d android_secret_code://2263 -n com.sec.android.RilServiceModeApp/.SecKeyStringBroadcastReceiver
and
am broadcast -a com.samsung.android.action.SECRET_CODE -d android_secret_code://27663368378 -n com.sec.android.RilServiceModeApp/.SecKeyStringBroadcastReceiver
respectively.
If you're on Android 11, you could also call the service menu corresponding to *#4636# (doesn't work in the dialer for me either) by using an app such as that one as in the submenu there is a further point "Select Radio Band" - which however, under Android 12 only shows me "Automatic". Before I could exclude bands here as well though which didn't require root.
But again, if rooting is present, just skip all that and call what you need directly from a terminal emulator.
I just modified the /efs with old school mods such as flagging "on" for both carrier/HiddenMenu (which may not even be needed) and /FactoryApp/factorymode file while also making sure keystr files remains "off". Now *#73# works. I can change bands easily as well selecting "back" a few times to get to the root menu of everything that the ServiceMode offers. Even if you unroot and flash stock the efs mods remain and *#73# continues to work.
Try at your own risk and profit.
I am new in this forum. I have some questions about this forum. These questions are shown below:

You can use Alliance Shield app. Enable Knox in AS settings > search and click 'Call Settings' in App Manager > find and click 'com.samsung.android.app.telephonyui.hiddennetworksetting.MainAcitivity' in Activities tab
