Hi Community,
today i took my phone out of my desk and it was powered off and won't boot anymore. Just recovery and fastboot mode were working. I was on Lineage OS, TWRP with open bootloader.
Wipe storage in TWRP isn't working, also file manager shows no data on system oder sdcard. I tried also to repair file system in TWRP but file size of data or system seems to be 0MB. (used, free and size, all 0MB)
Wtf happend? Memory broken? Somebody heard something similar?
Kind regards
Manuel
Edit; Tried to flash fastboot rom with myflash but with no sucess. The flashing ends within 1 sec with error in log file: FAILED (remote: failed to write partition)
Hi
Did you try reflash twrp and wipe format data? You can try this modded TWRP

Exactly this happened to me. Same scenario as you. Was on Los and only recovery and fastboot were working. Same error with miflash.
Worse though i tried to reflash recovery to the latest version. It failed and now phone doesn't even start. Just red blinking light.
I know this is an old post but did you ever fix it or the only solution is to change the motherboard?

I know the formating option in cwm recovery but that only deletes the
data files it does not format the whole internal memory.
So how do you do this? i heard people just use oem lock
and oem unlock to relock the bootloaded and unlock it again since that seems
to wipe everything.
But i wanna know if theres legit command that does formatting of internal
storage for galaxy nexus?
best way is to use the fastboot commands
fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem unlock

Yes. Reboot your device into fastboot and type the following:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase cache
Device is now wiped. You will need to flash a new ROM afterwards...
ive followed these steps and done all of the commands but now i cannot flash a rom.
im launched straight to fastboot, (as theres no rom) and it says no boot or recovery img.
i can get into CWM, but i see this.
E:Can't mount /sdcard/
any ideas anyone? think i need to look for a boot.img?

If you followed my steps above, you have effectively wiped your device (except the bootloader, radio and splash image).
You can't see /sdcard, because /sdcard is just a symlink to /data/media, which you just wiped.
You need to re-flash all the partitions that you just wiped. What ROM are you trying to flash, and how are you trying to flash it? If you are trying to flash a ROM in recovery and need /sdcard, you need to first flash the userdata partition with the stock userdata.img found in one of the images here.
great minds... i have already done that, went here http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html#yakju then flashed each .img one by one through nexus toolkit.
booted up into stock already. nice
thanks
I have the battery not charging issue. On top of that I can't fastboot my phone since it is not recognized by my PC. So how can I wipe the internal storage? I have only a certain amount of battery left. And I do not want to send all my private data to Samsung support.

Odin is a leaked Samsung tool. If you're suggesting such tool, search around for Heimdall, see if it supports galaxy nexus, if it does, suggest that.
Excuse for digging out an old thread.
Just wanted to check if there is a way to to format internal memory without loosing root?

As long as you don't format /system, you won't lose root.
a maguro wrote this.
Thanks. Is there a tool/app to do that please. Or I can just go about and delete
The reason I want to format is after having flashed 4.3( 3 different build) im no longer able to use instagram with an error 'unfortunately,Instagram has stopped' whereas all other things is working fine. I can't clear data/cache Instagram either.

Hi efrant, it seems that I have exactly the same issue: My evita was a bit slow so I performed a factory reset from the bootloader... stupid idea as it removed the OS (ROM) from my SD. I tried to push a ROM in the device, it said it was successful but there is still nothing on my SD card.
In the bootloader adb is not detecting my phone, fastboot is working though. Sideload is not working.
When i try to wipe anything from TRWP it says : it says "failed to mount 'sdcard' (invalid argument)"
Charac:
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT2.15.0000
TWRP 2.8.7.5
I can't try your solution because I don't know how to flash system, userdata & cache (I know how to flash boot & recovery). Can you help me on this?

I found the solution : Plug the phone to the PC, open in TWRP recovery / click on mount, then the PC ask to format the device, format in fat32. Then copy the rom to the sdcard. Flash it with TWRP. Done!
Hello,
tried to upgrade my 1.4 watch to 1.5 via update.zip. While pushing the update.zip he stopped copying.
From this time the watch always stuck at Google bootanimation.
So I tried to push the update.zip again, success, but not boot up.
Then I unlocked the bootloader, pushed twrp, pushed a whole system.img, success, but not boot up.
In TWRP is saw that he cant mount storage (0 MB) and /data.
So what can I do? Remeber a rapair option of filesystem in TWRP of my Samsung. But cannot find.
So is there a way to rebuild storage and /data using fastboot or ADB?
I have no TWRP Backup. But if somebody can give me... may restoring would go or fail because he cannot mount?
Whole sh*t because cant wait for OTA
Ok. No help. So I had to help myself :-/
Luckily found images of all partitions for persons who installed the preview of Wear 2.0 and want go back to 1.5
Flashed all of them using fastboot and voilĂ I'm back in business

Stuck in twrp recovery
Here's my case
I have a huawei watch
i unlocked the bootloader successfully
I then flashed twrp recovery
then tried to flash a custom rom but failed.
I am stuck at twrp recovery and fastboot mode.
I cant boot into system
I tried to sideload adb from twrp but it said unable to mount storage and unable to mount data.
When i flash the stock recovery, it keeps rebooting itself.
PLease tell me if there is any hope for me.
Have you tried to format the partitions? or to repair it via "Wipe" > "File System Options" > "Data" > "->" > "Repair"? Or chance the filesystem? mine is f2fs (this only works for data and not for storage...
Hi. I've just updated CM13 to the latest nightly using TWRP, but now the system just boots into TWRP - that's whether I select boot system, recovery, or bootloader. I tried restoring from a TWRP backup or another copy of the nightlies zip - it all seems to work fine but doesn't solve the problem. I can connect to the 'recovery' device using adb but adb restart bootloader just loads TWRP again. I've tried wiping first the dalvik/cache, then everything but the internal card, then finally everything but nothing seems to work.
I did get something a little bit like this a few days ago because SuperSU was complaining that I needed to update the binary. I let it do it the way that it suggested one does when TWRP is installed and afterwards couldn't reboot into system, but after a few minutes of frustration sorted things by wiping various partitions.
I attempted to load the full system restore files (cm-13.1-ZNH2KAS29G-crackling-signed-fastboot-74bb753396.zip) using TWRP but that didn't work (I imagine because they're designed to be run via fastboot). I tried loading them via the ADB sideloader option included in TWRP but it failed after a few seconds (I think the message was 'transmitting 0.0x'
I opened that zip and copied the various files to the external card, but I then baulked at installing the image files manually because the only partition option I'm given is boot and my understanding is that each image file should go into its own partition.
The only other potentially pertinent information I can think of:
TWRP keeps reporting "E: Unable to find partition size for '/recovery'"
Has anyone got any ideas please? I had been musing that my next phone would have OTG and NFC, but I wasn't planning to upgrade just yet if I don't absolutely have to.
Have you got it fixed? And if yes - how? I am stuck in a similar situation and can't find a solution for it. Tnx in advance.
Hi everyone !
I wanted to install the new MIUI 9 rom (9.5.8.0 OCAMIFA) through the recovery, but couldn't find any file in the TWRP recovery. I had an error when mounting the data partition.
I saw the solution was to reformat the data partition, so I wiped and reformated the partition. After that, I coudn't flash the 9.5.8.0 rom. I had an arror telling me that my device was not compatible. Actually the updater script within the ROM zip file looks for a variable called product and it must be set to 'sagit', the name of the MI6. But on mine it is not set, I don't know why. So I modified the updater script and succeded in flashing the ROM, but the phone got stuck at startup, with the Mi logo.
I saw that to get rid of that I had to flash the rom through fastboot. So I downloaded the Mi flash tool and the fastboot version of a rom (9.5.6.0). Once again, I had to modify the bat scripts, since they were looking for this 'product' variable that is not set on my phone. The flash started well but eventually after 30 seconds I had an error (write error) whatever the bat file I used.
But I didn't give up. I still had an old TWRP backup on my hard drive. So I rebooted in recovery mode, and transfered the backup files. But during the transfer, it stops copying ; the progress bar get stuck. I tried to copy file by file, but only the small files are copied. The big ones never make it to the end.
I think I'm cursed. Now I don't know what to do. I think I've tried almost anything I could.
Does anyone have an idea ?
i've also got bootloop after updating from 9.2.2.0 to 9.5.8.0 through TWRP, now i'm hopeless and also looking for help. i've wiped cache, dalvik, and data (exclude internal storage) even i've flashed dm-verity.zip to avoid bootloop after flashing the rom

Try to transfer your backup file with adb push maybe, and see if that manages to copy your file over (You need to have adb installed on your computer of course)
I dont have my Xiaomi Mi 6 rooted, so I can't test it on my Mi 6, but I tested this on my rooted Z3 Compact, and it seems to work great there
Reboot into recovery launch a command prompt on your computer and type:
adb devices to see if you can see your device
if that works you can try to adb push to transfer your TWRP-backup
like this:
adb push /home/zteam/adb-backup/backup.zip /
Well I flashed to twrp recovery using the redwolf recovery and after that twrp asked me for a password to decrypt, as I didn't have a password on my phone I just ignored it and tried switching back to miui 10.3.2( same version I came to pixel experience from) and I needed up clearing my internal storage as well... Luckily I had saved the pie firmware and mi room on my SD card but when I flash from SD card it gives me an error saying zip file cannot be mapped. The pie firmware was successfully installed but the MI room isn't installing. I am not even able to switch back to redwolf as well it also gives an error while flashing.
can anyone help me?

Extract recovery.img rom OrangeFox zip file on your pc, then boot that from fastboot by typing fastboot boot recovery.img, your device will boot to OF recovery, copy the Orangefox zip file to your sd card, then just flash the OF zip file you have copied to your sdcard, you'll now be rebooting again to recovery, now you can format partition to get rid of the encryption.
