Im just wondering if i seem missing something. I'm on official(non beta) Pie. I am simply wondering if there is a way to create an icon/ widget for digital wellbeing?
I hadn't looked at the app since the first day of owning the phone, but iit gives quite a bit of information. So i simply would love to have an icon for it..
Thanks

Im guessing not then. Will wait for Q..

I think you can only access it by going settings then well like how the battery you have to go setting and cant have a short cut
IKR..... It's hilarious, if it wasn't so backwards...

Go to Playstore and dl a app like More Shortcuts, noo root needed for that.
With a app like that you're able to create a shortcut to nearly every activity of the installed Apps on your Android device.

I have tried it today. Turned on my GPS before launching the app. Really amazing, at least for me. You can turn on the grid and it feels like you are inside the globe. It uses the internal sensors combined with the GPS, so while moving the phone around, the view changes accordingly showing you what stars/planes are there.
The sad part ? Looks like not all options are available - I could not turn on the constellations as it is greyed out. Is there like a full version of it or smth ?
Tried it a few days ago n compared to google sky map..n the charts are different!

Anyone else having sensorbug with this app (same thing as gallery 3d).
I checked battery history and starchart had a sensorusage about 8 hours (app was just opened for a few minutes). So i uninstalled it.
What are your experiences? Im on rooted Jpo, stock kernel without lagfixes

Yes, I have sensor bug with Star Chart Lite (current version 1.1). Nice app, pity about the bug. Have to uninstall too.
I love it!! Kicks Google Sky Map in the buttocks if you ask me!
Has anyone been able to get either of these apps to install AND function properly on our phone?
I was able to get SMemo installed, and I could open it, but as soon as I clicked the icon to create a new note it would FC...
Maybe someone could port or grab the S3 version and modify it to our screen size?
Bump

So I was able to get SMemo Lite working from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687243&page=3
This allowed me to "write" in apps that allow it such as My Story. However, it didn't give me the actual SMemo app. I assumed since I could now write, if I installed the app it would work...not so. It installs, but FCs everytime I open it. Anyone have any more progress than this?
I am running stock, rooted FE22 with TW5.
So is nobody else interested in getting SMemo to work?

Now that S3 is out, and it has S Memo on it, any chance someone could port it over to our phone?
Well I wanted it a lot at one point but I kinda stopped caring

Anyone using it?
For me it usually just shows the weather. I also noticed that it does not do a local search on the tablet, a possible fallout from the samsung galaxy nexus / apple injunction? . When I go into the settings it also won't let me designate my teams under the sports card. If I do a google search for say chicago cubs scores, it shows the scores in google search, but does not show a card in google now? What are other people's experiences ?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Ha, fellow Cubs fan here. I've just gotten the weather as well...but I only turned it on today. I keep asking it all sorts of questions about things I want updates on- the Cubs, Mark Webber, etc. hoping it will get the hint. I guess only time will tell.
In regards to my nexus phone; I only seem to get the route home traffic and map when I'm on wifi which is pretty redundant.
I've sort of given up using it. Does anyone love it for any great reason? Not even opened it on N7

I've been trying to get it to work for the past few days but no luck at all yet..... Don't even get the weather..... I'll give it another few days days anyways but finding it a bit crap so far tbh..

Have u activated Google now or not? Even I didn't get even the weather card for the first two days... Then I saw that it needs to be turned ON in the settings... Even after I did I get only the weather card..

I get all kinds of info from mine. It tells me when I have to leave tone on time for appointments. It tells me traffic to and from work. It keeps me informed on weather. Even keeps me up to date on sports scores.
The trick is you have to turn on web search history on your Google Dashboard.

I think I'm being blind. Where is web search history?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I have had pretty good luck with it as well. Weather, sports scores during and after games for both my AL and NL teams - previews showing matchups before games start, even so much so that if I use maps on my phone it'll show me traffic / estimated travel time there on my tablet.
So I was able to get my sports teams to finally show up. To do this I first went to google dashboard and enabled web search to a more liberal setting. I then had to go into Google Now settings and disable or turn off the sports card. I then went to settings and cleared the data for google search, then relaunched Google Now. It reprompted me to allow things, and when I navigated back to settings in Google Now, I reenabled the sports card , and when I did, the Cubs where pulled up and I could edit my teams.
A process you might want to try if it is being flaky..

Ask it how the red sox did today. It told me they won 15-7.. they actually lost. All sports scores are always 5-10 mins behind when I ask. also, automatic cards pop up to tell me the weather and how far from home or work I am, never anything useful. I have been nothing but disappointed with it and may stop trying to use it for now till it improves(it will).
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I don't need Google Now to tell me the Royals lost again but it would be nice.

How do you set it to have a card for traffic to WORK? I have the one that's always there for home but no matter what I try I never have one for work. How do I set a work location?

Yep this world for me. Thanks a lot.
I just want it to learn my daily commute. I make one trip from my house to a location about 15 miles away to pick something up, and then return home. I do this towards the end of rush hour, and sometimes get caught in traffic because of x y and z. It would be nice if Now could alert me to traffic info before my commute as I've seen it can do in demos.
I've taken the nexus with me every day since I got it and its told me nothing yet. Will having now enabled the search history make a difference?

Try checking in to the place using Latitude, or adding it as a stored location with Latitude/Maps.
I manually set my work place and it brings up the travel details for me. Before that it wasn't picking it up automatically, though to be fair I didn't give it more than a trip or two to work before I did it manually.
I'll try when I get there tomorrow. Thanks.

The UI this guy has set up is just freaking amazing. I hate to be that guy, but im going to copy the sh*t out of it haha! Its just so different and I doubt I will run into anyone with something similar. He also does give a really great review of the device

I love his work and did the exact same to my original note and even my s3. I eventually switched back to stock and the only reason was because most all third party apps I use don't have a landscape mode. So I'm constantly switching from portrait to landscape instead of staying in landscape which bugged me.

I actually messaged him asking about portrait mode issues and he said it worked just fine in both and was going to put up a Q&A

http://www.youtube.com/user/coldfustion - Yup I'm no fan of TW (or most any stock grid icon UI really) & always replace the launcher etc immediately (I like the vast customizability of Go Launcher-effects settings & the app is free-what is their revenue model-some kind of future freemium revenue model?) & am a big fan of 3D elements & nice widgets as long as the system doesn't lag..
Many people apparently like or are at least OK with that super simple grid icon UI but it seems way too basic+dull to me. When I help people with their devices they often don't make any changes to stock UI except wallpaper-lockscreen photo so I doubt you will be running into many with something similar
Yeah I've been watching his stuff for a while. Just awesome work he does.

I like both but its nice to see a new fully functional voice assistant
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I suggest trying utter!
It is currently in beta but has a distinct advantage over other voice commands which is customizability and it can execute tasker tasks.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I have not tried Robin but will give it a try. I like Google Now. The widget occupy's a 4*4 space on my home screen and it keeps me up to date with the local weather, my next appointment/work schema, how much time it takes me get to work and to get home. Every now and the I will be reminded with a picture and name that a friend on Google+ is having a birthday.
Other cards turn up and when I open Google Search!
The only voice commands I use are simple ones such as currency checks or a quick math problem.
I like Google Now.

Utter uses whatever voice engine you choose. So the misunderstanding part is usually due to the person not saying the command correctly. It has to be exact.

I find that I use Google Now a lot. I rely pretty heavily on searching for locations on my desktop, then having an estimated time of arrival listed as a card on my phone that I can easily set as a navigation target. The ability to pull my calendar events and tell me when I need to leave due to traffic is also quite helpful.
