Seems that Samsung is very close to release the final stable build of Android 10, but what do you think about the latest build "ZSKF"? Is it really a good version that can be considered close to the final?
Yeah it seems good to me so far
did you manage to update to V5? guys have 47% bug during update
Beta 5 is amazing. I'm specially happy that Android 10 gestures work with 3rd party launchers.
Edit. After 12 minutes working fine, gestures are gone and I only have the Samsung gestures, so no. Android 10 not compatible with 3rd party launchers yet
Some guy on FB published a photo from a note 9 exynos that in the settings he found a switch between 60 htz and 120 htz, is it true or a lie what do you guys think ?

It's true. That picture was first posted on twitter. It's probably a good indication of what the Galaxy S11 will have but I'll only be excited if the battery impact isn't as bad as the Pixel 4

Going by the picture we'll have the option of setting it to 60 Hz or 120 Hz so the best both worlds and it's up to us to choose. Samsung could, of course, try to be sensible and give us bigger batteries as well and leave it up to us to choose between 60 or 120 Hz.
Still bugged without doubt, but luckly not so much as someone could think.

I don't think they even work on pixel 4 with nova launcher. It's 3rd party launcher's fault and not android 10.

My bet is that this was a mistake. S10 and note 10 doesn't have the hardware to support 120hz, so we won't have the option to choose.

It is 3rd party launcher's fault. If that was the case developers could just update their apps and it would work, the fact that no launcher works shows the it is an Android thing.
On November 12th, Google released an update for the pixel 4 that it enabled Android 10 gestures to work with 3rd party launchers. As matter of fact, there have been reports of it working with Nova and Lawnchair launcher however as far as I know, it is only Pixel 4, older pixels don't have it working yet.
For anyone with root, there are ways of making it work but I'm not rooted...

I don't think it was a mistake. From what I read, it was found hidden which means it wasn't meant to be found on our devices as we don't have hardware compatible. Honestly, I can't care less about higher refresh rate right now, I'm very excited about the camera of the S11 and if it has a great battery life with high refresh rate on its screen I guess it will be a welcome "extra" for me

hi,
as someone who wants to finally board the android train, and is particulary impressed by the note's concept, i was waiting for thw GN2 to be avilablele, but i have a few questions:
1. i intend to use my next device for approximately 2-3 years. i've read here about concerns regarding the GN2's "outdated" hardware. normally it wouldn't bother me, but it's my understanding that the A15 is a huge leap forward, and in light of HTC's announcement about updating only to 2012 devices, i wonder if the A15's could become the new standard and when key lime pie (or the next one) comes, it would be too demanding in samsung's eyes and it won't be officially supported. in addition, some devs. dropping development for exynous based phones combined with the fact that afaik, CM doesn't support the s-pen's features (which are a main part of why i chose this device) may leave it behind for me. is it reasonale to expect at least 2 years of support by samsung?
2. has anyone used the handwriting recognition to solve math problems (i.e. infinitisimal calculus)? does it work well?
3. how much time can i keep the screen on wih a still background before i risk screen burn in?
4. does the screen appear not so sharp while viewing text, due to the somewhat low pixel density?
5. i've read here a comment about the note 3 supposedly released on march 2013. is that a popular\ reasonable opinion?
thanks a lot for the patience reading this post, and in advance for your much needed help!!
Two years of support will definitely happen. The old Note 1 is still getting updates, and recently includes the multi-tasking sidebar.
I've used the handwriting with equation inputs. It does not solve calculus for you. You just get to input it.
Not sure about burn in. But on HDAMOLED screens. I've heard upwards of 2 years on moderate usage.
The PPI thing is personal preference. I came from iPhone 4, and while the Note 2 PPI is lower. It does make up with its monster display.
Note 3 rumours need to be taken with a pinch of salt. I don't see it happening. Although anything can happen. There are credible reports of Apple releasing i5S as soon as feb or march.
I can only comment on text sharpness. And in my opinion it is perfectly fine. Words still look great when zoomed in etc. All the round letters look round abd not jagged

that's very reassuring. does "support" usually mean implimentation of certain features or the full ver. of android?

i read about the partnership with wolfram alpha, since i check many of my results on their site and given the note's ability to recognize handwriting, i thought it would save me a lot of time. is it not possible or did you not try it on wolfram alpha?

full version of android. seems like my old galaxy s2 will still receive full jelly bean even though it is 1 1/2 years old. Samsung is actually quite good with updates compared to other oems (except google and apple of course)
I used s note with wolfram alpha a little. It does work flawlessly for what I tried. Didn't try it excessively though.

thanks for the rapid responses!
since it's pretty much why i need the s pen, can anyone with n7100 try to write some short random integral/ derivative with Exponentiation with the s-pen to see if wolfram can use it? it would erase every shred of doubt i have, and assert this phone as the chosen one..

I think our beloved moto z play will sooner receive the major update which is 8.0
This site confirm, lets hope motorola will give as quick as possible
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G...ll-Get-Android-O-8-0-Oreo-update/td-p/3684721
good news
That isn't official.
It's just a forum and the user copied that list from one site and pasted to the forum.
Yash is right, that's just a c/p from a post elsewhere.
If it were an official announcement from Motorola, it wouldn't be hidden on a forum, it would be on posted to all of Moto's social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MySpace?)
No matter if it is false info or not. Anyhow, Moto Z series will surely get 8.0, just the time of arrival isn't revealed!
Yeah may be around 1 more year before it comes. But any ways still lovin the performance of my mzp upto this point.
O doesn't even have an official name yet and the pointless articles are already rolling in.
They are just rolling this for user's excitement
Someone asked @Moto_Support on Twitter if they know an ETA. Let's see what or if they respond.
Well, looks like the Oreo update is the first one I really don't care of - none of features are desired by me, none is "killer" one, I really wandering why they give that update whole new number instead of 7.2.x. Marketing all the way...

Which I don't like - I use Nova launcher with Pixel Icon pack, which perfectly suits my aesthetic taste - all icons are rounded
I'm happy with android 7.1.2, because it's stable as hell. But now android 8.0.0 is around the corner. It's very fast. New system again. It's ok, so long to do the update is not a big deal. We will see in few months
I'm waiting on someone to build it, I want snoozable notifications for when I'm watching Netflix or gaming. I want the pip mode too.

the Zplay it's a device from 2017, maybe in 2018 (Q1, Q2?) we got AO Soak Test, but it's time to wait for the official news of Lebobo/Motorola.
Don't forget the 18 months of "secure updates"

The User Experience is not the smoothest I noticed, Pie of Nokia 5.1 is way more smoother than this one. The overall experience still feel a bit unpolished. As far as UI goes, the corners are again not smooth like they were in a previous Oreo update (specially around the notch), for some weird reason there is circle witht the Pie navigation gesture pill, the launcher is not same as Pixel/Android One, apps such as Digital Wellbeing are not present nor is available to download). Plus point, Google camera is still working, the display and camera are lagging during video calls (just tried on WhatsApp for now). Will add a few more points as I notice.
Really?

I read about OnePlus getting new people to make a team to work on Open Beta for 9/9Pro.
I like that!
New team is not something to like. It might be good but also be a disaster. Questions should be asked like WHY????? are they getting a new team? What happened to all the revenue they made and how are they using it? Who is controlling the company, One Plus or the Chinese government? Why the delay to begin with. I realized DP1 was developers preview and not beta but why not allow Google updates for DP 2 and three. Who cares that Oxygen was not on it yet. Now that stability been reached with Beta, let's us Early Adopters adopt. I refuse to buy a Google Pixel love my one plus but was so excited that it allowed BL to be unlocked but I feel let down by OP. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic to begin with

There's an update (11.2.8.8) from July. (end of month)
So, following this logic, this week OnePlus might release a new one.

People get married, have kids, no more time to spend on Android. Priorities change. I also think not only priorities of people's lives but also Android itself and the huge slowdown of phone evolution. Actual since smartphone sales slowed companies like apple and Google created smart watches to help increase revenues. They first used the old nostalgic movies like knight rider or James bond to sell them even though Smart watches cannot do anything close to what the movies portrayed. You can make flippable phones but you won't see hologram s coming out of your phone. I know we love to always think of our technology being limitless but that dam law of physics keeps getting in the way. So now they will start with AR glasses with WebView capabilities. And when that fails, which it will because who wants a HUD I'm their line of sight. In 30 years we will events have implants and chips that will help the brain and technology link. Isn't it Neurolink that exists now. That technology is decades away. Because again we do not know how the body/brain will react and now I'm having flashback from the movie Black Mirror.

At this point 11.2.8.8 is up 2 date. OnePlus updates bi-monthly.

I think the gmail app just sux. I've experienced the late notifications across quite a few devices personally.
Oxygen sucks because of google. The more google on it the more bad Oxygen will be.
Also the King of Bloatware, samsung already gets Androis 12.
And OnePlus release 9R or something...
They are starting the ultimate consolidation of Oxygen OS into Color OS. How is OnePlus going to manage all these phones? Do they even have enough staff to manage all these phones?
Unfortunately they only update bi-monthly.
I saw a user suggest on their official forums basically say "hey guys, how about monthly updates like your competition?" in a friendly way, and a mod basically said **** off and closed the thread. I wasn't impressed.
This was my first OnePlus device, maybe my last.
That 12 Beta debacle was ridiculous.
After having the 7, 8, & 9 Pro, I will be leaving the building as well!
Is this a joke? About month last update and now ppl are think this is over. How do u even can survive this life?
I like how people actually think theres a decent alternative to oneplus these days. At least not in the US. Maybe google if the pixel 6 is actually premium/flagship this time. Otherwise theres no other brand with an unlockable bootloader, which is how they get away with so much bloat. Personally im fine of oneplus becomes a little more like the others as long as the hardware is premium and the bootloader is unlockable.
9 Pro is my first and last phone from OP if they can't get they BS sorted out. The phone has horrible battery life, scrolling issues, and it doesn't get better with next updates. Also, wtf is that BS with the bi-monthly update scheudle? A device like this should be fixed ASAP, the users are experiencing problems and neet to wait, the hell is that policy? Would they wait 2 months to release an update if someone would find a security bug too? So stupid. Get your **** together OnePlus.
I haven’t been able to find anywhere that confirms which bluetooth HD audio codecs the Pixel 6 Pro will have. The codecs seem to be mysteriously left out of the specs. Look at https://support.google.com/pixelphone/answer/7158570?hl=en and compare the Pixel 6 Pro specs with the 5a (5G) specs in the “Wireless & Location” section.
Does the Pixel 6 Pro have adpX and LDAC codecs? If so, please show me a link to confirmed info. I can’t find it.
I am also curious about that... LDAC is extremely important. All modern Qualcom Android phones have it.
I expect Google to deliver here...

I just chatted with the Google Store support and got an answer:
Both phones will support aptx, aptx hd and LDAC.
I’d certainly hope it’s true that the Pixel 6 devices will support Aptx, Aptx HD and LDAC. Thanks for chatting and finding that out. I’m curious why Google isn’t putting that info seemingly anywhere in their marketing materials. It makes me slightly nervous to just take the word of a support chat rep.
I know there’s an article on XDA pre-release where some leakers said the phone would have the codecs. That makes me feel a little better than the support rep, ha.
My Pixel 3 XL supports aptx and LDAC.
I think these codecs are just assumed to be included now.
I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, your Pixel 3 XL runs Android on a Qualcomm chip. That's designed to run those codecs/ the licenses are paid.
Take a look at IPhones for example. They have no codecs whatsoever. High quality bluetooth connections... that's impossible with Apple devices. They crap out way before.
Knowing Google and how easily they f*ck up important stuff, it's important to ask those questions.
I know for a fact that LDAC has been part of the Android Open Source Project for many years now and that OEMs can add it to their devices freely, but they still have to add it. It's not going to appear magically out of thin air.
Good point.
Just got my pixel 6 pro today.
Myself I'm really disappointed it doesn't support Dolby Atmos or and kind of spatial audio. I really enjoy this out of the OP8 I have now. Ordered the 6 and will give it a shot but might end up returning it.

Noice, would be nice to know what you think of the camera and especially the video quality. Those embargo jugglers don't want people to find out if the phone is truly worth it, before it's sold officially

Both seem really close in terms of max brightness. Though I can't see a need to run them at max brightness even in direct sunlight. Adaptive brightness seems to work fine for now.
So if aptx is available then there is some Qualcomm inside. I have the sony headphones with LDAC and that is what I use all the time with my pixel 2. I do a lot of flac and full wav file listening and while it is somewhat lost in the noisy urban world it is nice to have.
