One UI 2 beta for S10 series locking users out of their phones, it seems there is a critical flaw that refuses users’ PIN, password or pattern after restarting their device. For now, the only workaround to the bug is to set up the remote unlock feature before restarting the device and then use the Find My Mobile app to delete all biometrics and screen lock data. The only issue is that you still won’t be able to enroll new screen lock or biometrics so the device will remain without any form of secure unlock.
There’s also the hard reset option that wipes all the phone’s data but some users are reporting that even after that, they still cannot set a new pin or any other form of biometric authentication.
A lot of people complain of this in official ONE UI 2 Samsung forums, as it is the same beta 2 currently live for Note 10 family, you might wanna keep that in mind!
Here we are talking about Note 10+, not S10 series.
they already started to seed the fix ZSJL

So I feel like I know my way around rooting and putting custom roms on android devices. I've done it multiple times and love the features doing those two bring to your device. I recently received a GS3 from my employer and this will be my main device for work and personal use. But the company I work for has an application that is installed on every phone with company information on it so that the app can do things like wipe the device remotely if the phone is lost/stolen for obvious security reasons. But this application also restricts side loading apks and root users on the devices as well.
The application is Maas360:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fiberlink.maas360.android.control.samsung&hl=en
I actually work with the helpdesk of the company, and we have what Maas360 calls 'security policies' that include the settings restrictions for each of the devices with android or iOS... some of the restrictions set in place are like I said with not be able to side load apks, no root users, must have a screen lock with pattern or pin (depending of which security policy is applied), along with other little things.
1.) Is there a way to get the Samsung bloatware off the device by flashing a Stock, non-root custom rom?
2.) Is possible to side load apps with Maas360 installed? The usual setting of 'Allow the installation of non-Google market apps' is grayed out and unchangeable currently...
If there are any other suggestions, those would be great as well. I just want my device to have the flexibility and openness of what a true Android device should have. Thanks
Typically employers put software like that not just for security measures of lost or stolen, but also to prevent their employees from doing exactly what you are wanting to do. As such, you are essentially asking people here to potentially help break your company's policy and bypass security measures they have installed. As far as I am concerned, you are on your own.

I dont know how many other people out there use androids built in vpn, but i don't like the fact that you are forced to use a pin or a password to do so. Security rules do not allow to use the fingerprint sensor, although this one is more secure than a pin ...
Has anyone found a way to bypass this without rooting the device?
If security is so easily overcome without root, then I would say Samsung/Google is doing a really ****ty job.
I hate the fingerprint scanner myself. Always have to swipe 3-5 times.

Anyone know if there's a definitive way of doing this? Or if Google intend to address this in the future for Android devices?
I hate to reference Apple but I can pin or fingerprint unlock an iphone 5s, yet the contents of the phone are entirely encrypted. If I plug it into a PC it's not accessible unless the display is unlocked.
With Android though, I need to enter a huge encryption password. I've found a couple of very old guides but none of them seem to be up to date and many responses to the guides imply they don't work.
I'd love to encrypt my Note 2 and my SD card :/ but I don't want to enter a password to unlock it for every day use :/
Surely Google will be looking at an easier solution long term for this?
I've always been a privacy advocate and been knowledgeable about those law that protect us. After finding out judges can compel you to use your fingerprints to unlock your phone but compel you to give your password to unlock your phone/ your information, I've been looking to see if you can combine the two. I haven't found any yet but I thought someone here might now.
Is there a way require both a fingerprint and password/pattern/pin to unlock your phone every time? Would I have to download an app or something else? Is this even possible without me doing the coding myself?
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers or offers advice on how to achieve this.
Google gives you the option when you set up on initial boot .:good:

I wouldn't be at all worried about being ordered to unlock a device with the finger print for various reasons.
- 3 wrong attempts locks the device via password
- rebooting the devices forces a password entry
- every 48 hours the device will require a password entry
So as you see there's no way that anyone could be sure that your device will be unlockable with your fingerprint, and just because you have a fingerprint sensor doesn't mean you've set it up to unlock your device.
Even if you happen to suddenly find yourself in some dystopian universe with a big brother government somehow being able to prove you use the finger print sensor, it would be child's play to simply reboot the device (can even be done in your pocket without looking at the screen) or to use your wrong finger 3 times, or for 48 hours to pass, etc.
i just got Huawei Mate 20 recently, i'm looking for some security features, that can help users, in case we lost our phone or got stolen.
i'm looking for security feature that similar to MIUI or IOS, that can lock the device if we lost it.
in MIUI, the phone will be lock and can only be unlocked by signing in with Mi Account while connected to cellular network, it won't work with WiFi. even if somebody do a Factory Reset or re-Flashing the ROM (as long as it is MIUI Based cutom ROM), the phone will be locked again once connected to internet. and also we can track it as long as the SIM card is still attached, connected to cellular network and with "find my device" option enabled in Mi Account. we can also put some message to the lock screen. this is based on my personal experience using MIUI for almost 4 years. i'm hoping that EMUI has the similar feature.
in IOS, i got information, that IOS has the best Anti-Theft system, said that when iCloud is locked, there is no way of accessing the phone if we can't sign in to iCloud, some source also mention, if you ever forget you iCloud account, your iPhone is officially turned into garbage (please correct me if i'm wrong about this)
so, Does EMUI has the similar feature or even better one ? please let me know
note: sorry for my bad english
On your computer, go to Google.com with your Google account logged in then search "android find my phone".
From that screen you might find the feature you are looking for.
