A Detailed Rhinoshield CrashGuard Review - OnePlus 7 Pro Accessories

So, when I was looking for cases for my OnePlus 7 Pro, I wanted a case that would show off the back of this gorgeous nebula blue phone without anything covering it up. I found the Rhinoshield CrashGuard, however, I was looking around for reviews, pictures, anything detailed about it from users who've purchased it and couldnt find anything decent, very little criticism or anything. So, here ya go.
This case is not great at all. To start, its not rubber, or grippy in any way. Its a kind of plastic, and the interior of the case is the same kind of plastic, no cushioning aside from a kind of honeycomb pattern (which probably doesnt help on protection at all). Honestly still slippery, maybe not as bad as the phone by itself but you could still easily drop it.
Next are the buttons. To put it bluntly, they're horrible. The volume buttons don't seem to line up quite properly, and often they'll be super spongy as they aren't making proper contact with the buttons. The absolute worst is the cover for the slider. It simply doesnt work properly, it doesnt always move the slider, so you'll have to push hard for it to kind of slot in to move from ring to vibrate to silent. Its bad.
Next is the camera cutout. This seems like something that could have so easily been avoided had RhinoShield actually tested the case first before producing it. To put it short, it covers up the camera because it's 1) too thick, and 2) the curves of it just dont work with the camera. Rather than having a smile-shaped curve like it does, if it had been a U or box shaped sort of cutout, the whole problem could have been avoided. As it stands, for it to not cover up the camera, I had to take a knife and some sandpaper to grind it down, and its still not perfect.
Now protection: it provides next to none. The top and bottom of the case are thick and keep the back/front of the phone off it's glass when laid on a flat surface, but the sides are very thin, so the back and front of your phone are vulnerable in every scenario except a perfectly flat surface. A corner of a table, for example, will touch the back of the phone.
All in all, the case is an utter failure in every aspect. Rather than providing some form a protection, it instead makes using the phone significantly more difficult due to its poor button placement and other glaring design issues, and the effort it goes to to protect the glass with lips is next to zero, as it fails to keep the phone off it's glass sides in all cases except a perfectly flat surface.
Don't buy this case.
Who this case is for: people who dont like using their phone.
Who this case isn't for: Everyone else.

No not at all lol. I promptly removed it. I might query Rhinoshield for a return, but after my uh, physical modifications to the case, I doubt theyd take it. I tried to make it work but OCD and frustration together with the case's poor design and lack of function made me decide it wasn't worth the hassle.

I could not disagree anymore with you.
Every single wrong thing you're stating I can't relate to except the buttons may be a little to spongy.
The grip is nowhere near slippery and nowhere near grippy. Its comfortable and feels great in the hand .
The camera cutout doesn't cover up the front camera for me at least.
The slider issue only occurs if you apply the cover wrong I had the same issue with my 6t but if you align the slider with the cover from day one it will tear down eventually.

I can assure you that I was putting the case on correctly. Even going as far as ensuring the slider and buttons lined up perfectly. I took the case off and put it back on many, many times. Never fixing the glaring issues.

If you are buying always cheapest things and without reviews on Aliexpress there could be a crap. But i like Aliexpress uv glass - 1.5$ and IT is great.

Honestly I really like my rhinoshield case. I've used them on my past Samsung devices and had no issues. The have protected my phone from anywhere to 3ft to 5ft onto concrete surfaces. I'm sure for the price you could probably get a better case but this is the only one I have found that lets me show off the back while still offering an ok level of protection.

I've bought Rhinoshield cases in the past and can't stand them for Android phones. I had one for my Nexus 6P and Pixel, returned both of them. The only one I liked was the one for the iPhone that covered the back too (a different model)

Have the same case and disagree. Buttons work fine, feels good in the hand, looks great and I've dropped my phone about 3x and not a scratch on it. The cutouts all seem fine as well.
Either I'm not as picky or you got a lemon (in which case I'd contact them if I were you).

The absolute worst is the cover for the slider.

Try and set the alert slider and the slider on the case to the top most position and then put the phone in. This makes it work perfectly for me.

Pudini (slim) leather flip case - REVIEW + PHOTOS

Hi guys, I bought Pudini leather flip case, this one: aliexpress.com flip leather case cover (but not from aliexpress).
It seems like nobody have this case so I just want to share my opinions and photos.

Review + photos
First impression (points 9 out of 10): This case came few hours ago and it's cheaper flip case (12€ app. $15.5) so I wasn't excepting anything outstanding but, when I touch it it was so good. It's fake leather, but feels good in hand and it doesn't attract dirt (and when it is dirty, it's easy to clean.. just light rub with finger or clothes). So first impression was great.
Pudini closed 1 | Pudini closed 2 | Pudini opened | Pudini back side
Build quality (8.5/10): Beautiful, really. everything is well made and cutted, it's not sewn so no strings around or so, it is looking really good.
Holes for 3.5mm jack, USB, mic (on top), loudspeaker, flashlight and camera is great but holes for front speaker is placed too high. Also holes for lock and volume button are way out... you can press them, but you need to place your finger almost on the back because buttons are too close to the case around front side and there's too much space on the back side (see photo: buttons).
Case doors and case details (8/10):
Case is great made. Fits perfect and Moto G doesn't felling out of case. When you want to pick up phone out of case, you need to be strong because it fits and holds so good and tough almost like official cover.
From top view, it looks like case doors doesn't fit, but they fit good. (photo top view)
Case doors are big disappointment for me. I was excepting magnet or little sucker that will suck on your screen, but nothing. Maybe there's another Pudini model for Moto G with "sucker" or magnet, but this doors was blank from inside (picture: Pudini inside doors) so the doors are not fully closed and you need to put your phone on table with the back facing up.
But in fact doors are opening 360° so when you arecalling or playing games they are not obstructing.
Final words
The case looks and feels really good, but there's some bugs that will take time for me to get over it. But I like this case and hope it will protect it for long
In the end, I think 25,5 points out of 30 is good isn't it?

Updated. And it's not bulky at all...
case is adding:
2 milimeters on width,
2-3 milimeters height
and
with opened doors around 1-2 milimeters on depth, with closed doors around 5 milimeters on depth (because theres 2 milimeters space between doors and display)
Bad case
That case is rubish. I have been using it for two months, and the cover got peeled off. Also, it doesn't have magnet, so the cover is allways getting opened. I don't recommed this case

I got mine shipped from China in a little over a week, so fairly quick (ordered via AliExpress). It fits, but it's a little more difficult to press the side buttons with the case on. Of course it's harder to press the buttons accidentally in a pocket too, so maybe that's the idea. The cover does fold over, but doesn't lie perfectly flat, at least not initially - the hinge might flex a bit more over time. The cover is fairly stiff and sits a few mm above the screen when closed, so it provides protection against rubbing and scratching. Mine has a black exterior, as ordered, but weirdly the interior is beige, which seems a bit off. It comes with 2 screen covers which seem to be about the right size (didn't bother trying them) and a couple small polishing cloths. Not sure I would bother using this case all the time, but for occasional protection - sure, why not.

Ringke Fusion is coming!!

You may be able to get the Ringke Fusion from Amazon. In Italy they sell it at (almost) half price and with free shipping...
P.S.: I would post a link, but as a new user I can't...
More than $15/15€ for that case is simply a rip-off. I own Fusion case for my Nexus 5 and it's ok, but it's not that much better than some cheap cases that I also own. So basically Amazon US deal with free shipping would be good, but shipping cost and price on other Amazon websites makes this case a no go for me. I'll probably stick with a $3 case I ordered on eBay.
Can anybody post some pictures of that cases so we can see what we are talking about?

There are some pictures on the Amazon link posted in the second pictures.
Has any of you already used this kind of case before? Does it cover the side buttons too like the official case which was in the box? What about the dust caps? I am not sure I understand how it is supposed to work and pictures are not really clear about that...
But definitely interesting. I was hoping for a case-mate naked case but they didn't say anything about releasing one for the OPX yet. And this one sounds better anyway

Actually I don't. I mean the video was pretty boring (8 min to review a phone case? X) ). But I watched it anyway and also watched the comment and I can't see what exactly makes this case so uninteresting for the OPX?
I guess I would prefer the bumper of the case mate naked rather than the ptu of the rinkge fusion but case mate haven't said anything about their case being available. So the rinkge sounds like the best option here.

You know, what bothers me, is that edges of that protector does not fit, near the end of the video you can see it, I dont know if that effect exists with OPX case, but i dont want to take that risk, what is more to say - that case is really big. I have hope that when somebody buy that for OPX they also make video so we can see is that is good or what.
You can ask me - why that side gaps bothers me - let me explain - if there is gaps between protector and phone - there will be dust, sand, and other things from pocket gathering there, and also i would be worried that phone slips out of that case without reason (only if that bumper case is really slightly bigger that phone).
If that will be available in Poland - i would be happy to buy and give it a try, in that case i dont want to take that risk and spend money at piece of plastic that should protect my phone. I am still waiting for something that will be better than original case that OP give us with phone.
Well actually if you listened to what the guy said he said he bought this serie of cases for many other smartphones and that it is the first time the case doesn't exactly fit.
In the comments some guy said it was a defect and in an other comment the guy from the video said rinkge fixed it for the later cases they produced.
The case is not that big. In my opinion the sides do not even look thick enough to absorb impacts.
If you really want your case to protect your phone from collisions and drops then you are quite unlikely to find a case that doesn't look sturdy. On the other hand if you don't care about that and only care for dust and scratches then you are right the Rinkge fusion doesn't look like the right option.
Oh i still don`t know if i want to buy this it looks ok and that case would give me full protection, but if something will be wrong with it shipping it from Poland will be trouble... oh crap, i don`t know what to do now... damn... maybe somebody have that product for oneplus x? anybody?
I don't know about other countries but this case is available on the French Amazon marketplace. And Amazon is also selling this very same series for OnePlus one and OnePlus two so I think the OnePlus X one will be available from Amazon (not marketplace) some day too.
You think so ? http://www.amazon.com/Absorption-P...qid=1448636722&sr=8-4&keywords=oneplus+x+case

I am wondering... Is that case really going to protect the glass from drops? Since we have glass on the corners, shouldn't be there any rubber inside the case?
Ccore_ that case is made using two different materials, one of them is hard plastic, and other is soft rubbery something i`am pretty sure that when you drop down your phone that case will give you more chance of surviving your phone than original case that OP give us with phone. I see that - as i am - you are from Poland, try to observe in allegro auctions with "OnePlus X" in their names - i think soon there will be more covers and cases in our country. So if you want to talk - PM me.

I did along with a dbrand skin. It was recently shipped, will report after I get them.
My ringke fusion will arrive first days of January
I got mine from Amazon (french one). It is really nice. I can't take a picture because I can't find back my digital camera charger. But, really, anyway it looks exactly as advertised on Amazon (except maybe the rainbow effect I'll speak about later).
It is fine, it fits really well. No gaps between the phone and the case. Back is hard plastic, borders are kind of silicon or rubber.
Details : First, I've seen better packaging for cases, but it is ok.
In the package you find the case, a screen protector and a back screen (or back case ???) protector to remove weird rainbow light effect that sometimes occurs on the case (I never had a case which did that, even hard crystal clear ones), you know the kind of things that happens when white light meets CDs or DVDs ?
I didn't put on yet so I don't know if it does work neither how it looks because...
... they are several instructions notes in the package, but I am not sure I understood right the one about the "anti rainbow" film. So I'll wait for someone else to try it on and explain x) Anyway I am not sure how much it would help to remove this rainbow effect since it also occurs on the junction between the "silicon" part and the hard one.
The side buttons (not the slider though) are protected and so is the jack port too.
The case is a bit bold (1,5mm maybe more), but I don't really mind. But I am not really sure it protects the OnePlus X screen because the edges are not that tall and OPX screen is slightly curved.
Since I paid 11€ and no extra fees for it, I am pretty happy with the result which sure is better than what you get with the included case you got with the OPX.
Lulilule - is it much larger than original one? I have noticed that touchscreen is working better when i have phone without any case in my hand. That weird!

Case or no case?

Do you think it is wise to get an LG G6 without a case? I am pretty careful with smartphones and have not had a cracked screen or any damage beyond tiny scratches on previous devices like LG G4 and G2. It seems like LG did a good job designing the phone for mild to moderate use with the corners being metal in order to absorb the shock from falls. Still, not having owned a phone with glass back before I thought it would be useful to get some opinions on this.
Case absolutely

cases is for dyspraxis users
have had cell phones over 22 years now and just in your pocket, it's just fine. This G6 i got a Dbrand for the back just to save the camera lenses a bit (as they are flat with the casing)
However WOMEN with their bigger or smaller bags where they put it, is another story. That's just a beating on its own and very much eligible for a proper case
Having never suffered dyspraxia I still find it beneficial using a case. I've rarely dropped any of my phones but on the occasions I have it's been reassuring that if there was any damage it was it to the case and not the phone.
This time round I'll have a new case before
I've actually got a G6.
https://www.spigen.com/collections/lg-g6/products/lg-g6-case-neo-hybrid?variant=32022884481
Depending on what I think initially of the G6 I may see if I can find someone to do a swap for a V20.
If you're not someone inclined to drop your phone, then why ruin the look of the phone with a case? The phone looks great, and all cases are ugly and/or not thin enough.
Since I hated the shiny black fingerprint magnet back of the phone, I got a Dbrand brushed metal black skin on the back. Now it looks amazing, and provides a slightly better grip.
Approximately £600 GBP is why
And I think the Spigen Neo Hybrid looks pretty smart and doesn't add that much bulk.
Earlier I was looking at the dbrand skin selector after seeing a link someone posted. Care to elaborate on your experience, maybe a few pics too?
And whilst a skin can look good it's more a scratch guard than anything else.
just the level anti scratch i needed
I just did the back side.. front side is not needing any (my opinion)

I typically don't use a case and rarely have had a problem. But this phone is shaped very differently than my G4 and is pretty smooth and slippery. I wanted a case as minimal as possible, but wanted the grip and corner protection. Went with this clear one and am pretty happy:

I never have insurance so not having a case just feels like waiting for the inevitable. Even if it did fall on didn't crack looking at the scuff marks for the next however long would drive me mad.

I'm not seeing that at all (yet?). When driving my phone sits in a cradle on the dash, so it is in the sun most of the time. So far no discoloration. I've had this case for almost a month now. As always, YMMV.
I imagine all the TPU classes will have some discoloration or yellowing effect from UV. Good thing is that the case is cheap so just get another one when it's too discolored.

Thanks for the pictures. Given how attractive the G6 is I like the how clear cases show off the device.

Well I'll have to order that one next time. I've had this one a little over two weeks and the sides are pretty yellow.
I use a case on every phone I buy but always buy a clear case so that you can see the phone. I take care of my phones just don't want to damage them so when I sell them and get another the back is in mint condition so has greater value.

I have the same one he does and mine has some discoloration due to UV exposure. It's not terrible, yet, but that's the Texas sun for you. I'll just get another case when it comes to it. Hopefully it'll stay flexible for a while and not stiffen up.

Only reason i would recommend a case is because of the rear camera. It can get easily cracked when you put your phone down.
Other than that, G6 is so solid.
Have always been using a case for the older plasticky phones as the feel did not change much. Ever since my first glass back one I've been going for tempered glass on front and a skin on the back, camera and sides (sometimes). That way you can really appreciate the materials used, thus enjoy not only the software side, but the looks/feel as well.
You just have to think a step forward before juggling the phone on your fingers or throwing it in the clustered backpack etc.

Two great & cheap Moto G5 Plus cases from Aliexpress

I recently ordered two great cases from Aliexpress. Now the usual caveats apply: They can take a long time to get delivered (it took 10 and 15 days for them to arrive), but you get free shipping.
The first is a soft silicon case. I got it in black, and it looks like it's just part of the phone. (It makes it look a bit like one of those rugged Samsung Galaxy phones). Importantly, the case protects the camera bump in the back. I got mine for $2.44, and it took about 15 days to arrive. The power buttons and volume up/down stick out nicely from the sides and are very clickable. They have a good feeling to them.

The second is a clear plastic bumper case. It's definitely more low-end, but it still works well. It's clear, so it lets your nice-looking G5 Plus show through. It's very thin, which is nice. It also protects the camera, but unlike the case above, it simply adds on top of the camera. Meaning, there's still a bump, it just adds plastic on top of the camera. The silicone case has a recess so that the bottom of the case has no bump. This one cost me $3.44, and arrived in around 10 days.
Personally, the silicon / carbon fiber case is my daily driver. It looks cool. For $2.44! You just have to be patient.
I was interested up until you called your phone a daily driver and then i thought if it is going to have that effect on me i should really give it a miss.

Oh no, what have I done?
I meant that the "carbon fiber" black/grey case was my daily driver (I didn't want to confuse anyone since I ordered two cases, and wanted to clearly state which one I'm using day to day).
That first case has been pretty great so far. The only small problem I've is there's a tiny edge that's exposed below the charging port. When I play video games holding the phone landscape, it can feel a little rough. Besides that, I love the case. Usually I despise phone cases and long to remove them. That's not the way I feel with this one.

How is it at actually protecting the phone?
The black case looks nice. Is it easy to grip? I usually try to forego cases on my phones, but the G5 Plus is so hard to grip properly on its own...

There's a few ways that I like how it protects the phone: First, the case protrudes off the back so that the camera "hump" doesn't touch when you lay the phone down.
Second, if you lay the phone down on its front, the screen isn't resting on the table. Plus, it helps with minor bumps, etc.

It's very easy to grip, and to me, it feels better than just the phone. The phone felt a bit too light and slippery minus the case. (I normally HATE cases. I had a Nexus 6 and Moto X and steadfastly refused to encase them, mostly for appearance reasons). I got the $179 Amazon Prime version, and between the low price and the light weight, I was afraid I would treat it like a cheap phone. This makes it feel more robust without being clunky and annoying.
The case actually looks cool, which is nice. (My phone is black/grey, so I'm not missing much). The case buttons (power/vol+/vol-) stick out quite a bit, and it makes them much more clickable. (The clear case I linked to above, the buttons can be hard to click unless you know where they are by memory)

I've had a bit of a different experience. I've never used the phone naked, but I find the case is fairly slippery. The back's not tactile textured (just smooth silicone), except for the patches at the top and bottom.
I also personally find the buttons to be quite soft and have little feedback. YMMV.

I just received my case in the mail. It's slightly less slippery than the naked phone, which is an improvement. The buttons aren't as tactile as without the case, but not bad. Overall, I think I'll use the case rather than go without it.

flip case with auto wake?

Anyone found a flip case with auto wake feature for the oneplus 7 pro?
Too bad OnePlus does not provide this cover with launch ?
Not seen the OnePlus version anywhere although there are some flip cases around in both Amazon and eBay.. I'm also waiting for the OnePlus case though..

The ones I saw on Amazon and Ebay are without the auto wake magnet function, still not found a nice flip case....
I ordered this one - https://nillkin.org/smartphones-acc...s-7-pro-accessories/nillkin-oneplus-7-pro-qin. Don't know if it has a magnet but will tell here when I receive it if someone does not beat me to it.

Thanx, not mentioned it on the site. I hope so
These look nice if a little on the expensive side.. I'd have sprung for one if there was some protection top and bottom. Still might.

In order to a do auto-wake the phone itself has to have a sensor for that magnet. The Galaxy phones have that, for example, but I didn't think the 7 pro has one. I'd love to be corrected if it does.

Thanx for the info
There are apps that will utilize the proximity sensor on your phone and turn the screen on when opening the case. I used the below app on my S8+ with my Otterbox Strada, it worked without any issues.

I know but I don't like that... Still waiting for a flip cover with auto wake..
Ordered this on ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...+Leather+Card+Wallet+Slim+Case+Cover&_sacat=0
It looks similar to my OP6 flip case ordered directly from OnePlus that has auto wake/sleep.

Looks nice, hope it has the auto wake feature...
So I have 3 flip cases currently, ordered the 4th (the one that looks like the OEM flip case) that's going to be here next week.

You can see them all in the attached jpg.
They each have their pros and cons, none of them are ideal (the Otterbox Strada is my ideal case, a tank that's lasted my old S7e the past 3 years) and NONE ARE SMART COVERS.
The far left in navy is the one on my device right now. Like the form, the color, and corner protection. The drawback is that I question how screen protector friendly it is, as the sides actually curl in PAST the factory-applied protector film. Don't know if the case will will fit with a TGSP installed. My guess is it won't, which is why I'm using it now.
The middle one has the most coverage along the sides, but it's thin compared to the case I just discussed. From my experience with its 6T counterpart, it's relatively durable so it will likely be my go-to when I apply a TGSP. Don't like the form (full-length spine where it folds, front cover is not merged into the back case) as much as the other two.
The one on the right is the Nillkin, a brand I've used since... my Nexus 6? Love the form factor, hate the durability. Expect the case to last for about 3 months before it's starts cracking, chipping, tearing. This one lasted 3 minutes -- one corner cracked when i put the phone in. WTF.

I'd be willing to pay Otterbox more money for a OP 7 Pro Strada case. Such a great case.
Brilliant review reaper000 thanks very much.
Dammit OnePlus get on with the official flip case.
I'm waiting for the Nillkin to be delivered. Oh no! Bad luck with that. Take your advice on the durability.
I actually prefer the full spine so that middle one might suit me. Prefer the complete cover on all sides too. My OP3 somehow got scuffed top and bottom in the official case. I don't seem to need the padding. Never considered the black but that looks ok.
Oh that damn kick stand fold.. Dino why do many cases have that. Hate it. Would try and glue the thing down.
Thanks again. [emoji106][emoji106]

This one says it's smart wake/sleep:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Official-F...5T-6T-7/153444097176?var=&hash=item23b9fb1c98
Just received the Nilkin flip case in black.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality. Soft cloth inner. Hard plastic full protection holster for the phone. Accurate cut outs. Hard nylon backed combined fake leather back and cover that folds quite flat and out of the way.
Doesn't sleep or wake, although the proximity sensor does already deal with that so not an issue for me. No magnet at all to help the case stay closed.. this is a smart minimalist cover that sacrifices ruggedness.
9/10 from me
