Mostly on a 10w wireless charger at night. I've got the 25 watt adapter plugged into the a/c outlet in my car. The 15w wireless charger from Samsung is in my office, but doesn't get much use so far. I rarely get below 50% charge during the day. I've got the 45w adapter on back order, not sure what use that will be, honestly.

In the morning I use the 25w charger. In my car a wireless fast charger phone holder by KENU. In my office the dual wireless charging samsung pad (white). My nightstand at home has a samsung wireless charging stand as well but I don't charge my phone over night so I rarely use it unless I'm very low on power.

The dual wireless charger from Samsung, the first model that doesn't slide up/down. Charge my Gear S3 on one and the Note10+ on the other.

For every phone I have ever had I always had it plugged in over night, but this Note 10+ charges so quickly there is no need to put that additional strain on the battery when I can just plug it in for 30 min while I get ready for work in the morning and I'm at 100% when I leave. It's just bring practical w/ this amazing battery. I feel like I'm not tied to a wall charger anymore. I felt like I was always charging my S9+

I never charge mine overnight either. If it needs charging, I have a wireless fast charge pad at my desk in the office.

This is the 1st phone that I have had that I never had to charge it overnight. By the time I shut the phone off and I'm ready for bed it's still got about 15-35% left. I charge it for an hour after i get up in the morning before work. It's usually 50 minutes for a full charge. It's great.

First time in a couple years I'm not charging overnight. I've also yet to charge it fully to 100%. Been trying to keep it between 40-90% roughly. I'll charge in the morning with the 25W charger for 30 or so minutes or until I'm up to 90%. If I get around 40% I'll charge for 15 or so minutes before bed.

I use normal wired charge, and coming from a note 8, I find this to be really fast, I don't see the need to charge overnight, I think that fast charging should be used only when needed, not as the std way for everyday charging

I'm using original charge adapter, which you find in the box with the phone. Fast charging turned off.. Sometimes original Samsung wireless charger (dual stand).
My question.. Guys, what do you think about wireless charging? Bad, good, doesn't matter?

I have the 2018 Duo wireless charger that came out the same time as the Note 9. I still use it to charge my N10+ and my Gear S3 Frontier. I charge overnight, so I'm not concerned about speed.
In my office I have an Anker wireless charger, but it's a few years old. I think it's a 10W? I'm not really sure, I am rarely in my office and when I am, I never have to charge my phone.
In my patrol car and in my personal vehicle, I have 15W wireless chargers. On my Harley, I just have a Type C USB cable plugged into an adapter attached to my battery tender cables. It's just a 3.1A charger. It doesn't fast charge or anything, though I'm thinking of buying a QC3.0 charger for the Harley.
Other than on the Harley, I rarely ever actually plug it in, but when I do, I use an old Google Pixel PD charger or a standard fast charger from my Note 9 or Note 8.
The original accessories have never been removed from my N10+ box and probably never will be.

[Q] Slow Charge

Not sure if this is an issue, or if its standard. But here is what im facing.
A charge off the wall will get my Tmobile SGS2 to a full charge (from around 15%-20%) with the stock plug and cable in about an hour to an hour and a half. However charging from my laptop or from a car charger im only getting a total increase in battery 15% in an hour. I tried to use the stock cable with the laptop and got about 25% in an hour and a half. I tried to use the stock cable in my car and only got 7% in 45 minutes.
Anyone have any ideas?
When charging from the car or from a laptop, the power is limited to what the cable/charger can supply which might not be sufficient for the SGS2. For the car charger, you can try buying one that supplies more amps, but for the laptop, theres really nothing you can do, as it is limited by the USB cable itself.
Do you mean the USB cable or do you mean the actual plug & internal workings of the laptop? because i have tried several cables. And just also remembered that i tried the stock cable as well with crappy results.
you can buy a 2A charger, and it will charge a lot faster, that's what i use in my car
at home or office, i just use the regular charger, as i always carry extra battery packs
When you plug it into the laptop it only gives out a limited amount of amps unlike the regular charger that came with the phone. The one that came with the phone regulates the charge so that it doesn't overcharge your device or anything. The laptop USB plug is supposed to be meant for peripherals like a mouse and stuff so it doesnt give out that much amps, therefore charging slower than a regular charger.
I use the t-mobile rapid car charger, It can charge this beast in about 45 minutes. It also has a 2nd port for a 2nd device.
Deebo took your bike too?
Really?! I've never seen my charging current go over 700 mA, even with a 2 amp charger.
I'd happily give up some long-term lifetime for faster charging.

They have a home charger too that's a home charger plus car charger in 1. I use them in the cars but they're great for trips cause you have a 2 in 1 charger.
With 3 batteries and a external charger though, I never need a home charger and haven't even put this on a charger yet.
Just as most of the others have said here, the charge is going to be limited to what the source can put out. If you get another charger (2A charger) then it will be able to charger faster but you also want to be careful with using after market chargers there are some that can negatively affect your battery by overcharging which is when the phone gets fully charged but the charger does not ever stop with the flow of power to the device.
Ok Thanks all.
Guess i need a new car charger and something for the office.
Also did some crawling through "Mother of all battery life" thread found some good ideas there for making this thing last longer on the charge its got.
Im having the same problem my fone takes forever to charge...im pluged into the wall using the charger in the box n it took me no joke 7 hours to charge my fone!
Im on it rite now as its plugged i to the wall n im losing power instead of charging...i tested the voltage n its fine ...is tgere anythin i can do?

I, myself, actually haven't used the OEM charger that came with the phone. Although I did notice it is quite small and the phone battery is a 1850mAh (larger than normal) that might affect the charging rate. I am currently using the old HTC charger that came with my Sensation and it charges fully in about 2 hours. If you want a charger that charges your phone in an hour and a half, I recommend going into a T-mobile store and grabbing the Wallcharger they sell. It charges 33% faster than OEM chargers and does not harm your device nor kill your batteries.
You can find it by clicking here
Exactly same problem as OP.
OEM wall charger charges phone to full in couple of hours but laptop USB or car USB is doing at 10% / hour assuming you don't do anything on your phone but just leave it there to be charged. Otherwise you'll be losing battery rather than being charged.

As explained in previous post, this is due to limitations in the laptop USB drive and depending on what car charger you have, the phone might suck up more juice than it is able to provide.
so this is nothing a kernel or any other tweak can fix?

Yes, or if you have like an old microUSB charger from HTC or another Samsung phone (Samsung Vibrant) you can try using those.
the 2A chargers from BlackBerry are the best
So, you guys are seeing the phone draw over 700 mA (when the charger is capable)?
If I use my iPad charger (2A), I still top out at 700 mA, and the ~4 hours that go with it. :/
Even my 1A car charger tops out at 700 mA, that's why I thought it was a hardware issue.

No USB Charging

My 6 day old Verizon Note 4 stopped USB charging last night.
Went to bed plugged it in. Woke up this morning only at 50%. USB not working. Plug into supplied charger via wall socket, charges fine. Plug into computer charges just fine. Does not charge via USB in my car. Still need to check my cig lighter charger. Any insight? Should I go to Verizon and swap it out?
Thanks,
Bill

I would think that is the best way. Your computer and your car charger should be the same and your pc is working but not the car charger. I would get the 2 amp car charger at the least, not the 1 amp one. Also remember that if you charge with PC or car, you can't use your phone while charging or it would rather drain your battery instead of charging due to too low amperage.
All the same stuff still works on my note 2. My note 4 just stopped usb charging...is it the phone?

Did you get the red X in the battery icon? To verify if it's slow charge, you need to go into settings->battery and it should indicate that if it slow charge, if it said no charge then you need to get a new one and make sure get the 2 amp one for none Samsung charger or get the original Samsung made.
My car charger is a 2.4 amp dual charger. It still works with my Note 3, but has never worked with my Note 4. I tried plugging the phone into my radio which pumps out 600 MAH, and that does work. I tried turning off fast charge and my 2.4 charger refuses to work.
First I just want to say I'm no expert, but I have been around the block regarding car chargers and chargers in general.
1. The amperage is important, however there is also voltage that needs to be considered.
2. I've seen chargers that say on the device that it is 5v and 2a, but when you actually take a multimeter to it, it's not outputting the proper volts or amps.
The note 4 has 2 charging modes.
Regular - 5v and 2a
Fast - 9v and 1.67a
You will want the charger you're using to match one of these volt and amp combinations to properly charge your phone.
I have had no problems using all my note 2 chargers (5v and 2a) for my note 4.
I hope this helps.

Will a 0.85a charger charge the Nexus 5X ?

I was wondering if I could charge the Nexus 5X with a 850mah wall charger, I will be using a USB C to A type USB 2.1 Anker cable to an older LG wall travel charger.
Why not? Just make sure your cable is certified

Yes it will.
I charge my Nexus 5X at 0.36 amps (measured current). I've found across all my devices, the slower I charge them, the longer they last on each charge. For the most part, the devices are plugged in over night (7-port hub), so I don't really care if they take several hours to charge or not. Even the tablets are charged when I wake up.
Sometimes this is every night, sometimes this is every other night. Just depends how much I use my phone.
Thank you guys, yes i prefer a slower charge myself too.
It'll charge just fine. However one thing that mine did many times on either a 0.7 amp or 1.0 amp charger is it would charge to 100%, then it'd start draining and just wouldn't trigger to charge again. So I'd wake up and it'd be less than 100%. In some cases, really low if I started out almost full right before I went to bed. But it was random. Didn't do that early on and I think some days it'd work fine, and others, it wouldn't trigger to keep it topped off. I kept thinking I just hadn't put the plug in correctly, but after days and days of double checking that it was charging, I checked the battery graph. It hit 100% about 3AM, then just straight line decline to when I woke up.
I still slow charge during the day, but have a 2 amp charger next to the bed now.
Yeah my Nexus 5 did that too, I think its supposed to do that, it wont start charging again till it hits below 90% i think.

My 5X would just keep dropping though. So I'd wake up to 40% or 50% or something fairly low. That's no longer a problem with a 2 amp charger. But, since I have several different chargers and cables, I'll see if a different combo works all the time.
Ouch what do you all have running in the background? All the devices in my house charge on the same hubs at that same 0.36 amp, except for the wifes iphone which wont charge at anything less than 0.45 amps, but everything is at 100% in the morning when we wake up?
Just an update. I tried out a 0.7 amp charger last night with a nice fat USB cable and micro to C adapter. The phone was charged 100% in the morning. I'm thinking the fairly thin cable I used before was not passing through the full amperage.

The original charger can charge faster than the 45W charger with the right cable?

I have information regarding the Note 10+'s 45W charging ability. I just completed my own charging speed comparison. I depleted two Note 10+'s and am charging them from 0 with the phones powered off. One is on the 45W charger and the cable it comes with. The other is on the original Note 10+ charger, BUT is using an aftermarket USB 3.1 Gen 2 C to C cable. The results are VERY surprising!
At around 7 minutes, the 45W charger jumped out ahead at about 23% while the original charger was around 15%. Somewhere between that 7 minute timeframe and 15 minutes though, the original charger caught up. At 15 minutes both phones were at 36%.
Here's where it gets interesting though. At 30 minutes, the original charger actually pulled ahead of the 45W charger! The 45W was at 65%, while the original charger was at 69%.
At 45 minutes, the 45W charger closed the gap ever so slightly, with it being at 83% while the original charger was at 86%.
At 60 minutes, the gap closed a bit more. The 45W charger turned in a charging percentage of 95% , while the original charger had a percentage of 96%
At 67 minutes, the original charger reached 100%, while the 45W charger was a little behind at 97%. The 45W charger would then finally reach 100% 2 minutes later ( a total of 69 minutes).
In summary, I found that with a USB 3.1 Gen 2 cable, the original Note 10+ charger is capable of the same charging speeds (actually slightly faster) as the 45W charger.
Cool test, you have a link to the specific cable you used??
Sounds more like a faulty battery for me
Interesting! Would you have a link to the type of cable?
Have you tried this same test using that cable with the 45w charger?
And could you repeat the test but swap the carger for the device (the one with orig charger gets 45w), just to make sure it isn't a phone "problem"

That's actually what I intend to do when I finish depleting the battery. I'm hypothesizing that the charge time will likely not be any different than with the cable the 45W comes with, as I'm guessing that cable is likely a USB 3.1 gen 2 cable. I'm guessing the cable that comes with the original charger is probably a gen 1 cable (just a theory).

I just completed it with the other cable in the 45W charger, and the results were almost the same (it reached 100% at 64 minutes) as they were with the cable that comes with it (pictures attached). Looks like the charger that comes with the Note 10+ is capable of more than we gave it credit for. We just have to make sure we're using a USB 3.1 Gen 2 cable with it.
I wonder why there's so much variation in people's charging results.
For example, with the video put out by Flossy Carter, he got 50mins from 0% to 100% with the 45w charger and a little over an hour with the 25w charger.
He charged 2 Note10+ phones at the same time, with the above chargers.

Edit:
Possibly stupid question, but you do have fast wired charging enabled, right?

It's not a stupid question lol. But yes, I have it enabled. Most of the other 45W tests I've seen have had results comparable to my 45W test. There seems to be a pronounced slow down towards the end. I don't know why Floss' test came out the way it did, but I can't replicate that on my two devices, and I haven't seen 50 minutes elsewhere either.
I didn't see any significant improvement with the gen 2 cable . it's taking same charging time as stock cable which came with the box.
The generation version only increase the bandwidth capability of the cable and should not have anything to do with charging.
If I'm not wrong, there should be something with the stock 45W cable to enable faster charge since it must goes beyond official USB-C specs.

The other thing to take in consideration with newly discovery made here is that the official battery capacity can be between 4170 and 4300 mAh.

The cable also has to be 5A and yours might not be. And use the cable that came with each charger (or 5A).
It's harder to find longer cables that meet all the specs but I bought several of these and they've been terrific...

Are you doing this with the the device off? Try leaving the devices on and see what happens. I know between 1-80% it goes a lot faster with the 45W charger over the 25W charger. The ET I don't bother following them because it's an estimate not a constant.

Flossy results are about the same as mine. Right under an hour from 0-100% and roughly 50 mins from like 10-15% to full. I am happy with that. Using a 10 ft cable as well not the factory Samsung charger
Man your chargers are both charging at 25W, 45W charging should last from 0% to 100% about 60 minutes, many finish in 58/59 minutes

Car charging issues (standard S20 5g)

So i've had this phone for a few days and took a road trip and camped this weekend. To say the least, I had a good feel of battery usage of this phone for my typical tasks.
During my road trip, my phone started with about 92% when i threw it on the charger and started driving. I noticed it was charging up to 96% and it started to discharge slowly after about an 45 minutes of driving The phone indicated it was being charged. When I purchased this phone I also purchased a 6a car charger (dual port, 3a each), and also some USB-C to USB-A cables rated at 18w. If I disconnected the power for a little bit, and reconnected, it would charge maybe 3-8% before stopping again and I would repeat the cycle to ensure I had enough battery to allow navigation to take me to my destination. Luckily, I made it to my campsite with 82% battery to spare.
Now the strange thing- when I left this morning to come back home, I had 100% on my phone as I charged it with a battery bank fine. I left the phone plugged in to my car charger as I left, and it stayed at 100%. I even let the phone discharge to 94%, and plugged it in and it was able to charge to 100% with the navigation on as well as pandora.
Am I doing something wrong? Am I supposed to be using a USB-C type charger? Maybe I need a better rated cable?
Would love some help. I'm coming from an S7 edge so a lot has changed. thanks!

It's a qualcomm based charger. https://www.amazon.com/AILUN-Charger-Qualcomm-Adapter-Compatible/dp/B01N8PPY1H
Sometimes while driving these things can work loose in the lighter socket, a slight touch fumbling around near it (my dash cam does this), or some bumps in the road.
I suspect on your outbound trip the charger might have been getting intermittent power from being not quite pushed "home", but on the return trip you could have pushed it in harder and it stayed put.

this wasn't the issue as I tried unplugging it and tried various 12v sockets in my car. However I think I did figure out my issue. The new charger i'm using does not use the "PD" protocol that the newest samsung phones use. Also, although the car charger i have is a qualcomm 3.0 protocol, and 36w- it's actually at 18w per usb A socket. The s20 wall charger is rated at 25w- so I'm now looking for a usb car charger that has a dedicated usb c socket with at least 25w of power and supports PD and pps

I read somewhere that the newer samsung devices require PPM protocol in order for super fast charging rates to be active (as well as PD)

I've reconsidered using fast chargers after the purchase of the S20, we've started using old 7.5W and 10W AC power adaptors. The 7.5W charger brings the phone up from about 30% to 80% in about 75min and I am fine with that. I have also used the 5W S3 charger but I think I'm happy with using the 7.5W charger.
If I need a fast boost I can always pull out the 25W charger.
I did buy a Belkin 18W PD car charger with the phone thinking "yeah, I need this" but now I will only use it for emergency charging. Tomorrow I'll pull out an old 10W car charger and plug the phone into the 10W socket while I drive around, see what happens.
Well I got into the car at 10:55 with the battery around 26%, plugged it into an old car charger I bought for our S4s (Pleomax, apparently OEM for Samsung) which has 2A & 1A outlets. It's not obvious on the charger which outlet is which but turns out I used the 1A outlet (AccuBattery showed the charging current hovering around 1000 mA).
Anyway, after 1hr of driving to my destination with a 5min break to fill up, the battery reached 66% so the 1A car charger raised the battery by 40% in about 60min, which I think is quite acceptable.
Car connected by BT for phone/SMS, received 1 call only. GPS/NFC etc are usually kept off.
