Recently I bought Moto Z2 force from America. Here is the link
Link moto z2 force
I am using it in Bosnia and Herzegovina now. Its unlocked on all networks but there are some problems with T-mobile app. It asks for OS update but when I start update it won't start and sometimes it freezes, and restarts phone.
Is is possible to remove somehow all those T-Mobile stuff or mayb to flash new custom rom??
What is your suggestion?
Is there some custom rom to flash it that ce be used normally, here on domestic mobile carriers?

There is no hope of trying to delete the T-Mobile apps and the thrid party apps from the device even with an unlocked bootloader and root access. The T-Mobile apps and other apps are on the OEM Partition of the device. When you delete them from the OEM partition, in my personal experience, you will not be able to boot normally. So, the only option is to disable the apps.
If you want to flash a custom ROM, which there are very few of here on XDA, you wilol need to unlock the bootloader and boot TWRP and flash the TWRP installer. Then you can move on to flash a custom ROM.

I hoped that answer would be to somehow delete T-mobile apps but as I knew they are part of OEM software this I what I expected.
Where can I find instructions how to unlock bootloader and flash TWRP so I could flash custom ROM? As I can see topic regarding Moto Z2 force is huge and there is section about ROMs, here but I cant find it.

Hi,
Long story short:
is it possible to install customROM without root and to (re)lock the bootloader, and are there experiences with a similar situation where Apps check for closed bootloader and root (and stop working if detected)?
=> Goal: activate WiFi-Calling as my provider tuned down 2G-transmitpower due to the 5G-advances (without having enough 3G-coverage to make calls on UMTS-net)... BUT: I'm using two banks; one uses a PhotoTAN-App, that stops working if it detects an open Bootloader, the other Bank-App checks for Root & open Bootloader, and likewise stops working if detected. I have no idea about the PhotoTAN and Magisk, but the 2nd bank confirmed they checked rooted devices with Magisk, and that it does not work with it....
Thus, if I go for a CustomROM, I need to be sure that I can run it unrooted and with a locked bootloader....
Is there a way to install a CustomROM on the 5X with (re)locked bootloader and without root?
(or, if not possible: is there a way I can activate WiFi-Calling on StockROM if said one does not have the Carrier-Entitlements?)
Thanks for the help
@theunlucky: you don't need root to flash a custom ROM, only an unlocked bootloader. IMO you can lock it after flashing ROM.

Are you sure about locking the bootloader after flashing a CustomROM? I've read several threads now, and it seems a locked BL only works with StockROM?
Not sure, therefore IMO IMO a locked BL prevents flashing CustomROM, not running. Try. If it doesn't work, you unlock BL again (triggers factory reset). In the worst case you've to flash latest firmware for a clean base..
I have one Moto Z2 Force (XT1789-05), bought from coolicool.com, I didn't know device came Unlocked Bootloader, Device rom had problem with many apps, I googled and found one topic in XDA developer to Install Stock Rom, I downloaded and Installed India Rom, it's worked somehow fine, but still had problem, I downloaded Verizon Rom, Android 8, after Installed Android 8 Verizon Rom, Locked device bootloader immediately, now device stuck at Welcome Wizard in Android 8, after select language I got this message: (Please wait, this may take a few minutes) this is proof video (http://ahmn.co/Upload/IMG_0161.MOV), after this issue, device already locked, I can't unlock, because need to go to the Developer Option in Setting, I stucked in Welcome Wizard, there isn't any bypass, So, I start to search in Google, XDA-Forum, Android Central and more, I created many threads, many requests, no one can't help me, I tried to reach google developer support to the tell to me how can I bypass Android 8 Welcome Wizard, there is must be a way, but I can't find it, now I can access to Android Recovery and Bootloader
1. if you help me to FORCE UNLOCK device without need Developer Option in setting my problem will solve
2. If you help me to Bypass Android Welcome Wizard, access setting and enable OEM Unlock
3. If you help me to update the device from Android 8 to Android 9 Verizon ROM via ADB Sideload or Update from SD card in Recovery mode
4. If you have any idea to how can I fix it
Extra Information: I bought Belkin and Uni USB-C to Ethernet Adaptor to help me bypass Android 8 Welcome Wizard, I bought WSKY WIFI Adaptor because device Wifi can't find any network (I found QR setup by tap several times in Language Selection), after this section need to download google device policy apk, my device can't find any Wifi Network and my Ethernet Adaptor can't help me either, So, I just remained with my phone, and I can't do anything,
Please, someone, help me
My Device SKU: XT1789-05
These coolicool phones always come with the wrong firmware install, the simple solution to that is to flash the correct firmware which is plain old RETAIL. Solved. That's for anyone who might have or end up with one of these phones.
As for your phone and since you're in the situation you are I'd flash VZW pie. That isn't the correct firmware for your phone, but you've got a locked BL with VZW on it now and nothing is working. Since your ultimate goal is to flash pie anyways, that's what I'd do. Maybe that will clean up your system enough to enable oem unlock. If you can get your BL unlocked, then you're half way there. Surely by now you've realized that you haven't got many if any options.

You need to elaborate. Is oem unlocking grey out? Are you signed into google services? Do you have wifi and/or radio?

You shouldn't flash firmware from other variants like att, etc. However, if you're able to flash those firmwares and not get any permission denied errors then your bootloader is unlocked, which is good. If you have NOT flashed a pie firmware, good, do NOT do it until everything is up and running and you're sorted. If you have, then you'll need to use pie firmware to fix it since once you flash a pie modem there is no going back to an oreo modem.
Run this command from bootloader/fastboot mode and post back your output.
PHP:
fastboot getvar all

Hi All,
i´m a new owner of an LG G7 LM-G710EM running V10f-Eur Firmware.
My goal is to get an rooted device running Xposed framework, if possible with android 9.
All my previous HTC and Samsung phones were rooted and running with custom roms, so i´m quite experinced, but new to LG.
Having VoLTE and VoWifi is absolutely essential to me and i don´t want to loose these features. Therefore i would like to have a backup of my system before i start messing it up
Bootloader is still locked.
I found out that due to LGs encryption i can´t use TWRP to make a backup. I tried a patched (with cxz UI fixer) version of LGUP 1.16 to create a dump. Didn´t work either, probably due to locked bootloader ??
With a backup (or another way to go back) i would:
1. Unlock Bootloader
2. Install G710EM20j_00_0905.kdz (Android 9) with LGUP
3. Install Magisk18+ prepatched boot.img with Fastboot
4. Installing Xposed framework with Fastboot
Does this work ?
But if the new Android does not support VoLTE with my german provider i can´t go back.
Are there other ways to create an image of my phone ?
Is there a source of german kdz files for the LG G7 with VoLTE Support ?
Thanks for your help !
u can backup in the android system.
No nead to backuop just flash kdz.
VoWIFI and volte is carrier dependant not rom.
Just take a normal ota and you are fine
I entered my device info (European G8s) on the LG bootloader unlock page and they actually sent me a key
I flashed it and the bootloader is now unlocked.
Are there any custom recoveries for the G8 so I can root it?

You can root without twrp in fastboot. No custom ROMs because most people can't unlock bl...
Just tried with my LMG820QM. Does not work. I was hoping it would because the G8s isn't on the list either.
Thank you.
If anyone has the stock boot.img of the EAUW (I think? the one with W) variant, please upload it
I can't manage to unpack the KDZ and get to the img but I would really love to get root already

Anybody with unlocked bootloader already tried to flash a gsi?
According to the G8, v50 telegram group gsi are fully working on the g8 without any special adaptions.
Anyone know how to unlock the LM-G850QM version?
Can't seem to find a way yet.
How do you lock the bootloader?
I bought an unlocked LG G8 ThinQ US Cellular version here in HK. Works perfectly fine but I receive the bootloader is unlocked message when loading up. As a result (or at least I think it's linked), when I try and install any banking app for Citibank on my phone, it insists my phone is rooted and I cannot use it. I have checked with as many different apps as possible and they all insist that the phone is not rooted. I don't need/want the phone to be rooted and I want the banking app to work on my phone, so I am trying to lock the bootloader. Apparently, this is doable using ADB and loading in fastboot, unfortunately, I cannot load the phone into fastboot mode. Any ideas on how I can lock the bootloader as it's not clear how it was unlocked in the first place? The version I have is LMT600US.
Also, if anyone knows whether locking the bootloader will somehow render my phone unusable - that would also be helpful as I clearly don't want to do that? :good:

Well, you can first try to install magisk manager and try to enable magisk hide (the default settings for play services and for your banking apps). If it says you don't have magisk, make sure you try and backup your boot img first and then click direct install. You can also hide magisk manager in settings. If you still don't pass safety net, clear data for Google apps and look up the pxl4xlprops module
I have an LM-G810EAW with Android 10 (V20a-EEA-XX) and tried to unlock the bootloader. Got unlock.bin from LG and tried to flash it, but got the message:
Code:
> fastboot flash unlock ./unlock.bin
Sending 'unlock' (1 KB) OKAY [ 0.009s]
Writing 'unlock' FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Have I missed something?
EDIT:
YES, I missed to enable OEM Unlock!

I need Lg up & Dll for my lg g8 s LM-G820N
Hi, my carrier purchased 'Lisa' came with its ROM showing as version RKOEUBY.
My carrier isn't keeping up with updates so was wondering if I can just flash the ROM RKOEUXM without unlocking the bootloader?
I have my banking apps etc on this phone so am reluctant to unlock the bootloader unless absolutely necessary.
If anyone else has found an easy way to solve this would be grateful for your feedback.
Many thanks

Hi !
The best way is to download the zip of your European ROM from the Xiaomi site and try to install it from the update utility in your phone's settings. If that doesn't work, you'll have to unlock your bootloader, install the ROM you want with the flash utility, and choose the relock option before the install starts. Then you will be on an official Xiaomi ROM, with your bootloader locked and you will have updates from Xiaomi and no longer from your operator.
Bill
Hi,
I confirm that manually flashing the European ROM does not work (in my case at least), so I am stuck on MIUI 12.5.6 with RKOEUSF ROM.
If anyone finds a way to upgrade to the official version without unlocking the bootloader, and therefore not breaking the warranty, I would be grateful if you could share it.
Thanks
Hi !
From the moment you want to install a new ROM, you have no choice but to unlock your bootloader. You can then reblock it. Afterwards, I don't know if the warranty is impacted because you go through the official unlocking from Xiaomi.
Bill
Thanks Bill,
I've just tried flashing the zip of my ROM and the phone just quits the update after a long pause, saying that it cannot verify update.
Guess I'll have to unlock the bootloader. There's plenty of info about how to do this, but I've noticed a number of people complaining about the flash process.
When they apply the update, at the end they get an error message. The only way they get round this is with an edit of the settings of miflash.
Is this something I need to worry about?
Just been reading about these errors and it appears that they are caused by the path to the ROM file having too many characters.
Placing the ROM file in your C: folder solves this.
