For anyone else who is eyeing the Android 10 release today (eg Pixel owners) - after updating, my phone was getting really hot in my pocket, and the only thing I could find going berzerk was the galaxy wear suite. I un-paired my watch (seemed to cool down after) and attempted to re-pair later at home, which required a factory reset & restore from backup, which has stalled out and failed on me twice now. I've cleared cache/data on the Samsung apps, uninstall/reinstalled. No luck. Samsung app crashes when trying to open any time after the initial pairing.
So for now at least there appears to be some bugs they need to work out.
If you go ahead with the update like I did:
1) make sure to back your watch up first
2) good luck
I'd be curious to see if anyone else has this issue or has had success post update.

Sounds like it's not worth the effort!

Eh, worth it to some - early adopters get to weed out the bugs for everyone else
(sort of) got it working today, at least enough to make it through a restore apparently. The Samsung app still crashes after you open it, so I can't get to any settings, but the oddest/most annoying thing is that every few seconds the handshake with the watch pops up a notification that says "Samsung Accessory Service - Transferring file. Please wait."
Coincidentally, my phone battery life tanked after getting the watch working again. Not sure if they're connected, but this phone-watch connection appears to be awfully high maintenance.
EDIT: Solution found
Finally got some time to dig in w/ logcat tonight & it was a simple fix - the com.samsung.android.samsungpay.gear plugin was throwing a ClassNotFoundException upon launching the Samsung Wearables app which was completely locking it up. I hadn't even thought to look for that - I was so focused on the Wearables app itself and the Galaxy Watch plugin.
So to summarize -
Symptoms:
- Samsung app freezes completely at some point during initial pairing and forever-after.
- Watch restore from backup hangs mid-way through transferring an app (my usual contender was the weather app hanging between 75-85%)
- This causes the background service to continually try to download and kills your phone battery (even after power cycles on phone and watch)
Solution: Uninstall the Samsung Pay Plugin (and re-attempt pairing/backup if you were in the middle of that when it failed.)
unfortunately brings no effect, app crashes even after reinstalling all components and repair. Samsung once again not packed. A normal use of the smartwatch is currently not possible on Android 10.

Did you reinstall the Samsung Pay plugin? I completely removed that and only used the main Galaxy Wear app and Galaxy Watch plugin (admittedly cleared cache and data on each as well) and had zero issues so long as I did /not/ reinstall the Samsung pay plugin.
I have not installed the pay-plugin. if I start the Samsung Wearable app freezes it, can not operate and closes after about 5 seconds itself.

Yep, that's the exact symptom I had w/ the pay plugin. Note that the wearable app downloads the pay plugin externally, not via the play store, so I strongly recommend doing one last check through your phone's list of installed apps for any "*plugin" Samsung apks. Mine was listed under the 'p's, not with the other Samsung plugins under 's' so it's worth some scrutinizing of the list.
If not that (your symptoms are identical to mine, which is why I keep harping that one), it's difficult to know more w/o an adb logcat capture.
Many thanks!!! You were right! The pay plugin was still installed on my pixel. Have it uninstalled and now the Wearable - App works!

Hi, I recently bought Unlocked GSM galaxy nexus. I installed all basic apps like facebook, kindle, and few games. The problem started after 1st day, the phone reboots while watching youtube video or any touch intensive application without warning! One pattern I saw that application freezes for a while than phone restarts. First I thought that problem might be due to ROM, so i unlocked-rooted the phone and installed Sanfransisco ROM (4.0.3) and there I experienced same problem!
Yestrday I reverted my phone to stock, and the problem hasn't repeated as I haven't installed any 3rd party app. but yesterday night i installed kindle and today in the morning when i started my phone from standby, I was greeted by a black screen then startup animation! but strangely when i checked the up-time of the phone, it hadn't restarted. It was showing same 30+ hours up-time. So was this some kind of soft-boot? also to cross-check i manually restarted the phone and up-time reset to 0.
Please help me with this issue! is there a fix? please don't tell me to replace the device as i have brought it from abroad as the phone hasnt officially launched in my country. There is a similar thread in google with 100s of people having same problem, so i think this is a software bug. what do you people think?
here is the link to that thread:
http://www.google.co.in/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=4a51e070d7b1f856&hl=en&start=40
PS: My phone doesn't get stuck in boot loops! there is also no issue with wi-fi, and the frequency of reboot varies from 1-3 i a day depending on usage. With stock ROM the phone has rebooted only once
(in 40+ hours) with uptime unchanged as i discussed earlier.
Bumping the thread. So many views, not a single reply! This is a serious problem for me.
Guess it's the same problem as mentioned here:

After one month it had been away, a bunch of days ago I got my Galaxy Nexus back from the tech support (motherboard failure).
I proceeded to unroot it again and I installed ParanoidAndroid (6th March beta) since I was using that rom before it broke and flashed trinity on top of it. I noticed a peculiar behavior when trying to playback youtube videos (both in the app and in the browser): sometimes the request would just hang there and if I did anything like pressing the back button, the app would be found unresponsive by the operating system and the "youtube isn't responding. Ok|wait" message would appear. I just got back my Galaxy Nexus from mI just got back my Galaxy Nexus from mI just got back my Galaxy Nexus from m If in a boot session that happens, I get the same thing happening on several apps like twitch.tv and clock. I discovered that the clock app wasn't working properly last morning, when the alarm didn't go off and I kind of overslept to uni, it wasn't nice .
I tried flashing other roms and kernels combinations as well as factory resetting, fixing permissions, installing busybox, re-installing youtube, clearing caches of various apps.
Has anyone ever experienced something similar? Thank you.

Hi all. I just got my S6 Edge on the release date and updated it to 5.0.2 via OTA right away. I noticed that a lot of my apps keep crashing and the phone will reset on its on sometimes. Is this a symptom of the memory leak issue? Has anyone else experience this and found a solution? Please chime in, thank you.
*edit*
I have already performed a factory reset and it didn't help.
Also the message is "Unfortunately, (insert app name) has stopped working."

Yep its definately the memory leak problem when pushed hard. Try using smart manager to clean stuff up or all in one toolbox from the playstore. A restart might help, mine has stopped crashing apps now, when setting up and syncing it seems to be worse.
My nexus 9 is the worst thing i ever bought hoping 5.1 will sort things out. As much as i Like lollipop, my 2 plus year old note 8 is smooth as butter on KitKat. That said new Samsung phones always have early software glitches that get sorted in a couple of months

I did all this and it doesn't seem to be working. What is the next step?
I downloaded AAStocks and it keeps crashing on my Galaxy S6 Edge as well. Works great with no crashes though on my older HTC ONE M7
Note: Crashing started after I added stock portfolio to application
UPDATE
I took screenshots of how frequently the apps crashed. I had 5 apps crash back to back within a minute of opening each. I went to a T-Mobile store and showed them the screen shots. They were busy so they didn't bother to ask me to duplicate the problem in front of them. The phone was still within the 14 day warranty period so they replaced it for me. As of now, I am no longer experiencing the issue. Maybe you guys can try making the same claim. Best of luck!
Happy you got a new phone. The problem though was the Google Play Service that for some reason had a hard time auto updating and a lot of apps depends on that.. So in the future try to disable it, uninstall and install it again. That will fix it.
Even when it's not a Google app it will do that. Had the same problem
Hey guys!
So just as the subject reads, the phone from time to time can't connect to my camera and I just get a black screen. Switching between the front and back when this happens triggers the error message and tells me to send a diagnostic report to Google. One of the things I tried was to force close the camera process and still nothing. Only fix is to reboot the phone, but eventually in a day or two the camera will crash again.
Just to rule out any kind of corruption, I wiped the phone to factory settings via recovery and the phone still behaves like this. One of the apps I noticed does not play well with the phone is snapchat (current beta). The app is super laggy and wondering if this could cause the camera overall to eventually crash. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome!
Overall I'm kind if disappointed with the performance of the phone over several days. Upon reboot its quick and over a day or two the phone gets pretty sluggish, even locking up at times for a few seconds without being able to do anything. Sometimes exiting an app and going to the main screen takes a solid 5 to 10 seconds.
Yeah the camera app is very, very bugging. Really hoping there'll be an update that fixes the problems with that and 3rd party cameras.

I though I was the only one, the camera takes forever to open and bogs the whole system down, I just the l got the security updates and no camera bugs were addressed

Actually that's exactly the way my Nexus 4 behaved, which was the main reason I had to replace it now. Hope 5X won't do that, or I'd be pretty pissed off. I thought it was a hardware issue, but now according to what you write I suspect this might relate to some application installed.
I'll add myself to the list. Sometimes It doesn't even make picture, just get stuck and does nothing for a while, then for whatever reason it start shooting a sequence of pointless picture. Many times it take 2 pics in a row, like a not asked, not wanted crappy pointless multishot
Camera was completely fine for me until I got an OTA update 2 days ago and now its completely dog ****. Freezes for a while when I open the app, and crashes if I turn the phone to landscape.
I just rooted my phone and camera stopped working. Reset to default did nothing.
I'm on B29K. Do I need to downgrade?

How exactly did you root? And if you flashed a modified boot.img, which one fid you flash? Also, what does "reset to default" mean? Does this mean that you flashed the factory image for MMB29K?

My phone is stuck in a boot loop!
I have found that the only "fix" is a factory reset... but that only delays the inevitable. The boot loop returns after about a week.
I've cleared cache multiple times, repaired apps multiple times, uninstalled many apps, put every app possible into deep sleep, made sure apps are all updated in both app stores, "repaired apps", and reflashed the firmware with Odin... only to be back where I started with the boot loops.
I have found some overheating and RAM errors in logs in Recovery, as well as the following error multiple times in groups of 3:
"unable to set property "ro.boottime.init.mount.cache" to "0": error code: 0xb, try count 1-3"
Is this the culprit?
Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon and fixed it?

Strange.
Is your phone rooted?
Did you try using it with minimal apps installed.
Check under battery what app uses the most battery (maybe an exotic app on top is heating your phone)?

Not rooted.
Also, the reboot sequence happens even when the phone is in Safe Mode as well.
Will remove a few more apps--VPN and a few others that don't seem rogue but may have sufficient permissions to break a device.
Few more errors were in the logs but I don't know javascript or similar to decode, just looking for keywords and the above mounting cache error seemed most problematic.

Tried those already. Thanks for linking though--glad to see it's more widespread so we might see an update soon.
Good news: I've isolated the issue to be caused by the One UI 5.1 update (security patch Feb 1). Funny enough, they claim that there is a south australian app causing the issue, but don't state the app name: link.
Bad news: Samsung is censoring me on their forum and not allowing posts--and deleting them when created.
Also, their factory warranty email, [email protected], is non-responsive for 2 weeks. I'm not able to call their support phone (833)690-0918 due to the reboot loops.
Losing all goodwill Samsung built with me through the years.
