Plz excuse the dumb question, and plz excuse^2 if the wrong forum, but before I brick my phone I thought I'd ask. The new LineageOS v16.0 update files don't seem to list an image specifically for the Verizon M8. Before I ASSUME it's one-size-fits-all I thought I'd ask if the one image also works for Verizon phones.

Hello everyone -
Newbie here at this stuff, and I was wondering if I can download the Universal ROM AKU3.5 and install it on my Verizon XV6700 phone?
Thanks.
P.S: Universal means it's for everyone? or is it another brand like HTC, Apache, etc.

Universal is a BRAND, just as Apache is a BRAND.
I suggest you read the Apache Wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Apache
Not much info on there right now, but it will get you started. Also, do a forum search for the Apache or the XV6700 to find out if other owners are successfully able to flash to a new ROM and the steps they took to do it.
Good Luck!!
Thanks for the reply, one question though, you mentioned about new ROM for XV6700 over Apache forum, and I'm assuming u mean the Sprint AKU2.2 ROM right? If so I already got it flashed in my Verizon XV6700 and working now. What i'm interested in is the AKU3.x ROM. Is it possible at this moment?
Thanks.
That's a question you'll need to answer yourself from reading the thread that has the ROM you want to flash to. Each ROM has it's own prerequisites for a successful upgrade, so I wouldn't even want to presume to know whether you can or can't.
Here's the link to Molski's AKU3.2 ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286988
However, it's in the Wizard upgrade section, so you might not be able to use it on your Apache. The only way to know for sure is to read the ENTIRE thread to see if you could use it on your device.
If so, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY!!
If it's a Verizon phone, it is not GSM based, therefore it is TOTALLY different from the Wizard, and most other HTC devices.
If you can't do it yourself, learn. If you can't learn, wait for someone else to do it, and find out from them.
Now go have fun!
Reddit user nemopsp suggested this idea on /r/galaxynote4 and I wanted to know if this was actually possible. Sorry if I messed up somewhere somehow either in posting this or my understanding of Android as this is my first Android device and I've been lurking here for a little while but I just recently made an account.
Hi all...
Trying to find definitive answer, and new to S3s. I have cobbled together an L710 from parts, and now want to install CM10 or CM12. I originally started the project with an i535 from Verizon, and got one with a version that was "knoxed", so could not go to CM.
Is MK3 knoxed? if it is, can I assume (like on the i535) that tryng to install another bootloader will trip and brick?
I have done some searching, but don't see a similar thread that has big warning about Knox, like on the Verizon forum. If anyone knows where that is, please do point me, so I can RTFM.
Thanks in advance...Eric
OK...been reading through the noob thread, and if I am reading correctly, even though 4.3 and later are knox'd, it does matter, since it can be disabled.
Big difference than the SCH-I535 Verizon model, huh?
Am I reading correctly?

Hello, first off I'm not a newbee but I'm new to HTC and just acquired a Verizon HTC M8. I have been to the Verizon section but do not see any nogout roms, but then I came across this HTC section witch I do see nogout roms and now I'm confused. Is the nogout I see in this section of HTC, is it for all variants within one rom that can flash on all variants of the HTC M8 or is this something entirely different whereas you can only flash a certain ROM only made for that certain variant of the M8. If someone could help with this small confusion it would be appreciated. Everyone have a Happy New Years.
In the desired ROM thread, do a search for "Verizon", and you can pretty easily figure out if the ROM supports your device or not. I did this for LOS 14 and 15, and Verizon seems okay.
Verizon M8 uses a different kernel (at least in Sense) than other M8 versions. So you need to at least look for ROMs that other Verizon M8 owners have had success with.

I kinda figured out some stuff like lineageos pretty much put all the versions of m8 in into one universal type deal, but they are not my first choice. I'm just gonna go through roms and see which ones work and don't work. I'm gonna start with AOKP. Thanks for your reply.
Hello, guys.
I've been asking in some threads, but I couldn't get a clear answer, so I'm hoping someone can answer me this.
I have a Chinese Moto Z Play (XT-1635-03 variant) and I've been running a custom 8.1 ROM for a while. However, I feel like going back to stock Oreo and sticking with it.
The question is: will I brink my device if I flash the Oreo image in this link?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/development/rom-official-fastboot-stock-oreo-image-t3786537
I know it can be installed in any software channel, but I'm not really sure if it can be installed in another model.
I appreciate any help.
