Screen Timeout is set to 30s but the Lock Screen still fades to black after about 5s. with Battery Saver on, i think it's about 3sec.
why does OneUI ask for a clip for up to 15s, when it only shows 5s?

I am running CM 6.1 Stable, and have been for a while, yet this issue just popped up a few days ago.
I cannot get the phone to auto shutoff the screen when idle. I have it set to 5sec off and 1 sec lock, (down from 30 sec off, 5 sec lock before).
I have looked at the stock settings and all are in order.
The only thing different is I was trying to play with the setting on my Alarm Clock Plus regarding screen setup, but have reverted to original settings and even rebooted several times with no success.
Anyone else having issues with this? Any way to enable screen off again without having to flash a recovery?
It's really killing my battery fast!
Thanks for you help!

In the android display settings, 15 seconds is the least amount of time to turn off display. how is yours set to 5?
In cyanogenmod settings, theres options to tell the lockscreen to kick in after the screen has automatically turned off and when the user has pushed the power (sleep) button. what is your time set to in the android settings? (settings - display - screen timeout)

Um....finding rock, and hiding underneath it!!!
Turns out I am a moron that can't read.....but I swore that I had the display set to 30 sec....It was disabled. I will test again, over the next few days if for some reason it reverts to disabled.
Thanks!

Lol no prob. Happens to the best of us!
Hi
Have been using tab 3 for three days now and just today noticed that the screen turns off itself.
When the tablet lays down on the desk just a touch near power / volume buttons turns the display off.
At first thought it was due to overclocking app (ROM toolbox ) but turned off all profiles and again screen turns off when slightly touched on the edge.
Kernel: v13-10-14.3dg541fc6 - [email protected] #9
Has anyone experienced similar issues with tab 3_8 ?
Just a shot in the dark, is your screen display setting set too soon. I think 30sec is default. I set mine to 5min. Otherwise not sure..

Screen timeout inset to 10 mins
This must be something with cpu-overclocking as now without any profiles on screen never goes black again.
Just need time to play with profiles / different apps or maybe some of you can share yours overclocking experience
Good to know!
The screen stays on for approximately 5 seconds when not in use then turns off. Irritating when trying to read something . It doesn't have the smart screen option like the g3 . How can i change the screen off time?

My friend actually has the phone and ask me that question. Thx I'm still rocking the g3.
Just download it on the Playstore NotifyBuddy. The app developer XanderApps made an amazing simple app to bring back a simple and beautiful notification light when the screen is off. Easy to configure, allow all the permissions, pick the apps you want it to show the light for, choose a color, and that's it. You can tinker with the settings for the duration of the blink, how long it takes to blink again, and how long it blinks for, which is a big one for me because other apps do not let it go for very long from what I've seen. The developer also said that there is screen in burn protection built-in! The only thing is AOD settings get disabled when there is a notification as well as screen-off fingerprint unlock and a double tap of the screen is needed to wake the phone up, or alternatively press the power button.
No notification light is an issue I had found with the note 10 + coming from the Note 8 and this is resolved for the most part
Lemmi know what you guys think about it !
Does it work with AoD?
When a notification arrives, does the fingerprint scanner works?

Did you guys read what OP wrote?
And from yesterday (or i have not noticed it earlier) when the display goes dark, it shows a message that no pictures are selected (however i have no picture-style aod choosen)
Only works if i press the power button on my s10+ any ideas why?
Holy crap, I wish I could have found this a long time ago. It actually works on my Note 10 plus. Shows notification on top left when screen is off[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Did you use edge lightning? Or it's turned off?

Haven't logged in in awhile but it can be used with or without edge lighting. I just tested with a 15 second delay (found in the notify buddy settings) and it works.
Have a nice day !
I like the idea of it but I don't like that it doesn't work as well there like when I plug in the charger it doesn't allow the display to turn off until I manually do it
Hmmm, I just tried on my Note10 plus. Plugged in charger, screen timed out at the 30 seconds I have it set to time out, charging led was present.

Fingerprint unlock doesn't seem to work unless you tap the screen to wake and then fingerprint unlock. Also the position seems to change slightly every time the notification blinks. I was putting it around the camera hole and the first blink is perfect around the camera but then the others are off to either side with each blink. Once these are fixed and I make sure there's no battery drain, I would probably buy the premium version.
Why does my Android 10 Galaxy S9 keep going to lock screen randomly, even while I'm actively using it, like when I'm typing in a any like this? In the Settings I've got the Display time out set to 10 min and Lock Automatically is set for 30 min except when Smart Lock (No Body, Trusted Places) keeps it open.

To further clarify,
I'm using the same Otterbox cover that I've been using for over a year, it does not cover the proximity sensor.
This only began a week ago. It happens completely randomly, a few times an hour at least. It has happened while actively pressing app controls, or reading, or just ended a call.
Found the answer on a Reddit post. Settings | Developers Options | Lock screen when trust is lost. < Disabling seems to have fixed the glitch
