I posted on this yesterday sort of in a thread titled VOLTE, if you have a Gen 1 or Gen 2 magic box, you need a Gen 3 to use VOLTE with it.

Hey there, Good deal. I don't know what a magic box is, however my VoLTE works without it. I miss this feature. It's bad when someone calls you while using Google maps navigation and you can get traffic updates.

"Dual Core" GPS location capability

Snapdragon announced that Snapdragon S3 devices can now gain access to a feature called "Dual core location system" which enables connection to both the GPS (Global Positioning System) network and the russian GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System). Basically lets us connect to an additional array of satallites.
Quallcom specifically confirmed that the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 gains this ability.
So I guess getting the Snapdragon comes with some additional benefits.

SWEET, THE SKYROCKET HAS THE SAME CPU! I'm stealing the GPS.conf from the T-Mobile SGS II.

Sweet, so this means that the Telus Galaxy S II X (T989D) will also have this ability then!
and how do we enable this feature?
let me guess, wait for the next ROM update
Wow the GPS on this phone is already the best of any phone I've ever owned, this is just going to make it that much better!
yup Dual core GPS
that's gotta be a new trade mark patent for samsung

I think that what that is implied was that this feature was just dormant up until now. I think they flip the switch on their end.

It will probably work from the start. Since its built in side the chip. The only thing stopping it was waiting for them to enable glonass.
is there some App or dial pad code we can run to see if it's working or not?

It was probably activated by using the new baseband since the update was today.

What are you using to view that?
Gps test
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
In the news it says although the functionality is ready it has to be "activated" by the carrier (I guess through a firmware update?). So we don't have it yet, not until they publish another OTA for it. God knows how long that's gonna take.

No HD Voice Calling on GS4???

so i had hd voice calling on the sg3. Called another person with same brand new Gs4 and no hd voice.
Called customer service and they said while the sg3 is compatible, the BRAND NEW sg4 is not??
Really? Why would they not have the tmobile sg4 come out of the box with hd voice calling?
Is this something that Tmob has to push out as a software update?
thx

hmm....maybe tmobile just hasn't updated their internal info for their reps. The guy had no clue what I was talking about when I called and then pulled up his help info.
Any reason why it wouldn't work then? Is there something that I need to enable?

The s3 didn't have hd voice. And in order for hd voice to work, both phones being used for the phone call need to be compatible.

On by default, on after an update, or on after this hack?
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2124777
It seems that the Note 2 does not have AMR-WB (HD Voice) enabled by default. I could be wrong.
Is HD voice an app or does the phone automatically try to use hd voice when making calls?
SG4 absolutely has HD voice. You may be using wifi calling which doesn't have HD voice. HD voice is automatic when used within the GSM network.

Yeah, it should work. And the first part of my post was wrong. The s3 does support hd voice. I was mistaken because hd voice wasn't available until recently, so I never heard it in my s3. How do you know it's not working?

Dumb question, but is there an icon that appears when HD Voice is active?? Also is HD Voice an option while using a Bluetooth device?

Bought it on the Google Store, Pixel XL. I am using on Verizon. That is BS what they are telling you. Get someone who knows what they are doing. I wouldnt chat with them, i would call them direct. Mine showed up as soon as they removed the supposed block. I bet the block had something to do with using a non-verizon device like the Nexus 6P previously....

Yeah I am dealing with a complete idiot.... I was just able to fix the issue and there was a block on the video calling for some damn reason. I just removed the block myself and now the option is there. He still wont answer my why he didnt check for this first when i told him right up front that others got this fixed since a block was on their account.... he was so quick to tell me its not supported because its a non verizon pixel phone... i told him i know more than him and that both phones run the same exactly software versions.

Glad you got it to work. I have not tested it. i just familiarized myself with the blocked services section on verizon wireless page. Would have been so much easier to just have done it through there. I despise calling VZW.

Does scam ID work for anyone?

So I have scam ID enabled on my account, #664#
But so far not a single scam call got flagged.
When I had my pixel "scam likely"would show up without me looking to do anything
T-Mobiles excuse / solution was for me to add the numbers to their list.
