Looking for a good dex dock note 10 - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Has any one found a dex dock they liked for their note 10 that works through other devices?
I got one but it does not work through my reciever in one room, or my sound bar in another. It only works directly.
While all other hdmi devices work on both setups.
So far I have not had any luck with 4k or hdr.
The one I got.
HOGORE 8-in-1 Type C Hub Adapter with 4K HDMI,
Anyone use any of these solutions?
https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...your-galaxy-note-10-into-dex-desktop-0203720/

tested Falwedi 10-in-1 same issue, saw a bit of a picture then it faded away.
Used the original power supply of the phone to power the hub.
anyone else trying these through other equipment?

anyone have any luck with the dex and going through other av equipment?

Bump? Can some one test?

Bump still hoping someone had better luck.

bump anyone using a dex with a note 10 and have it work through a other hdmi selectors?

I have found this one to be exceptionally reliable and cheap: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JK9DFKH/
Supports 18w fast charging as well.

That for the info, can you confirm if this will work through an av receiver,HDMI selector, or sound bar?
Thanks

Bump, still hoping someone can confirm a good dex device that will work the an av/selector switch.

Bump, any one confirm this though a receiver?

Ugreen are pretty decent hubs with (PD) Port they only cost 20 odd bucks! instead of bumping and asking us if it works with av equipment! Why dont you order one ? And try yourself, and let us know if it works or not ?

[Q] Has anyone bought the media link adapter?

http://www.expansys-usa.com/htc-des...=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=base
The reason I ask, is because I would like to buy a pico projector for use as a HUD display for my car. Also, I have a vulkano and the vulkano app installed. So when parked I would like to be able to connect something like this to watch my home cable over my homemade HUD. But from the you tube reviews, it seems as if it will only do stored content, not streaming content. If this won't work, can someone point me in the direction of something that will? If I need to clarify something, just let me know.
Thats a sweet idea if you can get it to work, but that thing is pricey. I believe the microUSB port is actually a port (can't remember name) that is compatible with microUSB (charging, syncing, etc) but also supports HDMI. If so, that would work better wouldn't it?
I was wondering this as well. I am coming from an INC and the video out cable worked well for my screens in my Tahoe. I would love to find something to get a video out signal on my TBolt. I was a few minutes from pulling the trigger on the media link myself.
Anyone have any first hand experience with the Thunderbolt?

I saw a pdf. That seems to support this, but I have yet to see the cable itself materialize. I was listed as an accessory, but so was the dock and induction charger that have yet to drop. At this point I won't wait for anything that is supposed to come from Verizon.

What happened to the TV-OUT ?

One of the most things that amazed me in Galaxy S II .Is the ability to output to HD/SD screens but today i've bought a 3.5m to RCA cable then plugged it in but there was no image and no option for TV-OUT !
So where is the TV-OUT exactly ?
Really, you did what?
I don't know how you could expect a video signal from an audio port. The thing you are looking for is the MHL Adapter (USB to HDMI) which isn't on the market right now (June most likely).

well actually the first sgs had tv-out from the 3.5mm port, as well as some nokia models, my dv cam has the same so its not impossible, but i find it strange that more people don't know that the sgs2 has the MHL adapter, see threads like this popping up all over
I'm surprised people are largely unaware of this too.
I really need the MHL cable, I used my Nokia 3.5mm TV Out cable a lot with my SGSI, really looking forward to being able to output HD content with the SGSII !!!
MHL was added, so tv out was removed.
photo editor was added, so adjustable saturation, sharpness, and brightness was removed.
video editor was added, so ability to pause while recording video was removed.
Thats the Wonder of Samsung~
Does anyone know if a non-samsung specific MHL cable would work with the SGS2, same as generic USB on the go cables work ok?
and yes, with the release of netflix today, and newly discovered "TV Shows Stream" app, i have to use my old sgs..
i wonder if software can fix this, or if hardware is missing.. someone should look into this
Its a standard, so yes, a non-Samsung one should work (only reservation for me is that GSMarena say that this one only works when a charging USB cable is connected to the adapter, so if a non-Samsung one didn't have a charging input it may not work).
MHL is just another way of saying HDMI-out !
I'm asking about the SD output that uses RCA connectors to plug into TVs.
Yep, I know what you're asking, it doesn't work (several of us have tried).
your one of those many people who don't really know what they are buying when they buy it, always a mistake. You need to do your homework before you waste any more money my friend.

thats not true at all.. there were no reviews of this phone before it came out, and thats like saying 'oh you expected mp3 support?' yes ofc we did, isn't it a given?

I believe that person was discredited later though.
In any case they are mistaken, because myself and several others have confirmed this is NOT working with the SGSII.

There has been plenty of info floating around about this phone prior to release and on release day, if I and plenty of other people new about this and you didnt then as I said before you didnt do your homework
the MHL port will work with all tv's with HDMI ports, however it will only charge your phone via this port with new TV's with MHL compatible ports.

Wireless HDMI dongle

Hi does anyone know of a wireless HDMI dongle that works with the GPad for home use? I have a slightly odd setup so will need to do the sound via the headphone socket (and don't want audio delay). In theory HDMI 1.3 should work it out. Does anyone know of a dongle that is worth trying? There seems precious little information out there...

Not wireless, but I bought a cheapo slimport off of eBay and it works just fine... Lots of Miracast options there too, but I can't make a recommendation.

Thanks, which slimport did you get? That would certainly be the safer option for my purposes (and cheaper!). There seem to be some costing £7 and some costing £30. I have no idea if it is a passive device, in which case they should all be the same, or if there is actually some electronics in the slimport in which case perhaps best to get a more expensive one.
The miracast options on ebay all have very mixed reviews...
I got one of these:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/6FT-Slimport...DA_Cables_Adapters&hash=item338b30046e&_uhb=1
I specifically got that one because I'd rather have my charging plugin at the BACK of the TV instead of tangled up in the front. Most Slimport adapters have the USB end and the charging end within inches of each other.
I find it works just fine, and the G-Pad will also let you do other stuff while the video is mirrored on the screen (yet another thing the iPad! doesn't do!). The only thing that doesn't work well is charging while plugged into the TV - as it's designed for phone use, it's only a trickle / 500mA charge (if that), which will keep the G-Pad going but won't charge appreciably (or at all) while you're outputting to the TV. Better just to use it only for the TV and keep your regular charger for direct use.

Happy to go with either miracast or chromcast so long as it does what it is supposed to do, the video quality is good (eg for watching netflix on my 1080p projector) and i can use the headphone socket on the LG Gpad (not the amp as it doesnt have hdmi). But I suspect miracast is better for netflix?

Thanks. They seem to get much better reviews on amazon, but at £50 they also seem to cost double. I guess one has to pay up for this! Is there much of a lag? Not worried about gaming, but more about lipsync with the headphone output on the LG against the video...
I brought mine of ebay for £40. It does have some lag but not too much lag and so it good for internet and look at images. Games also work but u might notice some lag 1/10 Times.

Well in the end I "played safe" and got a CAMAC SlimPort (rathern than miracast). I plugged it into my 1080p projector but nothing comes out. Do I have to set anything on the LG? It is running LG's Kitkat. I note that if I try to set the Miracast toggle, then it wont allow it saying there is an external monitor connected.

For anyone that is interested, I finally got this going. Had to use a different HDMI cable. Video quality on netflix is pretty good, although it is a bit jerky. Guess I will have to watch a whole film to really see how it goes. The sound out of the headphone socket is definitely delayed and there is an easily noticeable lipsync problem with it, but I would say it is tolerable...
It's not cheap but from what I have read the Amazon Fire TV and Allcast could have screen monitoring with sound remaining with the device casting the screen. I haven't been able to locate where I read this though.
Netflix works very well using the ~$50 Belking HDMI 2.0 Miracast Dongle. Virtually flawless playback.

Type c dongle and headphone cable not working

Not sure if I'm missing something. But I've been trying to get my shure se535s working with my note 10+
I first bought a type c to 3.5mm dongle which didnt work. So I then purchased a rather pricey type c to mmcx cable to replace the entire cable for my monitors. But that doesnt work either. Device just plays audio out of the speakers.
The provided headphones work just fine (be it they are runnish).
Anyone got any ideas?? I wasnt bothered about the headphone jack removal at first as I had 2 options but neither of these seem to work
I plugged in the headphones that came with the phone and the connection was horrible. I literally had to hold them in because if the phone moved it would disconnect and then my phone call would come out of the speaker not the headphones. I just think the typs C connection sucks.
I have the Shure BT cable and I use BT most of the time. I purchased it off of Amazon. Works great. I also suggest getting Comply replacement foam tips.

You have to get a certain kind. Some brands of adapters don't have a built in DAC. Go get a Samsung branded one from Best buy and see if it works. That's what I had to do.
Isn't there a DAC inside the phone?

Apparently not. I asked the same question on reddit and people said the same thing. Samsung didnt put an in built dac to convert the signals over. So cheap dongles dont work. And nor does my over prices $90 shure cable... but a few people recommended the google branded one used for the pixel. And amazon reviewers confirmed it worked with the note 10+

I can't comment on that one, but since I've dealt with this issue from my Pixel 2XL, there are adapters with both the DAC and a power in, but with both ports on the end of the box. That side mounted power input looks awkward to use.
I bought this one, but I'm trying to find it to test with the Note 10+. So I can't confirm it works just yet. But anyway, having both connections on the end is much easier to work with.
There are also others with slightly smaller "boxes" or different shaped boxes, so pay attention to that as well. When I find this one and test, I'll update.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FFSV1RY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Edit: I confirmed the one I linked above works with PD, or at least it says fast charger connected and estimates 34 minutes to fully charge from 79%. So far, all the adapters and headsets I tried that I bought for the Pixel 2XL have worked with the Note 10+. So I think when shopping on Amazon, things that are compatible with the Pixel 2XL are compatible with the Note 10+.
I personally hate that they do this. They have to convert the audio for the speakers and then they just got cheap on not doing the same straight pass through connection for the USB C connector. Those USB C adapters are dirt cheap, though the ones with a DAC chip have come way down from when the only major phones that needed them were the Pixel 2's and the Essential phone or whatever that thing is called.

I'm assuming it does. I usually get a "weak charging" message when I use non-fast charging-compatible chargers. I've not seen that appear on my 10+ yet.

Tried a a few cheap adapters. All won't work. I found one Basues adapter that worked but the sound either dies or becomes mono when you touch the metal parts of the adapter.
I have this 3.5mm to usb c dongle from galaxy tab s5e.
Surprisingly, it doesn't work with note 10+. Only works with s5e.
Not sure why.
Anyway, the usb c headphone works in both device. So I only carry one.
I guess people will need to buy dongle from samsung as usual dongle not working, even the only from samsung for s5e.

Question Usb Type-c headphone adapters

Hello all,
I recently upgraded to the s22 from an S10 and all is well and I'm pretty happy with the phone. The one issue I didn't think about is the headphone port. I've tried adapters and had problems with them all. The sound quality was decent on one of them. The biggest problem is the phone seems to go crazy with phantom screen taps random song skips and volume going down by itself. This happened with any adapter I tried. Has anyone had any luck with a certain kind of adapter and can recommend one? I have no issues with charging or other adapters like hdmi.
Edit: I got one that works really well so they are out there, just don't buy the cheap phone shop ones I guess.
Samsung's. If that doesn't work there's another issue.

No worries. It also works with the Tab S7.
Ironically, the USB-C to 3.5mm adapters that shipped with older Samsung phones and tablets like the Tab S5e, don't work with the S22 series.
I've used the anker one's and they worked fine too.
I'd suggest an apple usb c to 3,5mm adapter. Definitely best sound quality. But due to the way how android handles usb dac drivers - you will need special apps to play audio with good quality. Hiby music is a free app for example, you need to enable exclusive usb audio.

Its a good option but it'll not give you full power if its not an apple product, the samsung one is the best for the s22
