After applying latest fast ring Windows 10 update, I was at least about to get it to run correctly, and it seemed stable. It's just not very useful. I experimented with a few apps and found it difficult to navigate. I ended up with a bunch of windows for each app.

I like not having to use an HDMI cable and everything is working fine. Not as smooth as I would like but works non the less.
Worked fine for me. I just played a game on it to test it out. It was really wonky the first time I ran it but was fine with a restart.

On my setup (USB3.1 SS) DeX is extremely sluggish on W10. Think I'm on skip ahead still. Anyway, you can tell that the frame rate for DeX is very low, but I'm unsure of what causes this.
Yes noticed the low framerate as well. Almost not workable. But also resolution is not great on a 4k screen.
After working for 10 minutes i got a sms and it looked like the entire session froze.
Reconnecting the usb cable was the only way to fix this.

It is my video, made a thread about it but couldn't link the video (needed 8 post)
The weird thing is that it works sometimes and sometimes like in the video. I am going to return the phone tomorrow, so sad it's a great phone.

Yes have done that
Yep, same issue. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. While I'm playing a game and it doesn't work, i just press the power button and then press it again and unlock it and from then on it works flawlessly.

So I am not alone, what are you planning to do return it? I found one more on youtube that had this problem. It should be software related right?
Having no issues atall with mine that I can see, just tested it using 'phone tester' and it has no trouble recognising 10 touches which is way more than I could ever need it to do.

I hope the Galaxy Nexus doesn't have a flawed touchscreen like my Nexus One.
No issues here. Tested it with an app and it was able to recognize 10 simultaneous touches.
I had those issues too. It happened to me in Onlive app for the first time and then in some another game using two virtual sticks. I am almost sure it is software related (maybe some incompatibility with ICS) because I have just installed the multi touch tester from the marker and it is working flawlessly (10 recognized touches).
I think it could happened to every Gnex user from time to time, it is just a matter of time.

When you have these issues in games try the multitouch tester, I think you will get like me in the video then. I noticed it in games and after that I tried the multitouch tester. Have been able to play zombie age now without any problems.
That's what I was talking about. After using the multi touch tester and getting normal results, I am fairly confident it is the software bug in ICS or Gnex itself. I am not sure what is causing the bug to "activate" though.
I think I am going to wait now returning the phone now when so many seems to have the same problem
I saw this and my heart sank. As long as its working normally in several testing apps then I'm confident it isn't a hardware problem like the nexus one.
Probably able to touch up any bugs with an update.
-sent from temp HTC Rezound waiting for Galaxy Nexus
Could also just be a compatibility issue with the game(s) itself and ICS
try testing it in your hand, and not on a surface.
does it still give you the same bug?

I am finding youtube videos so slow slow to start and continuously stopping to download the file, I never had issues like this with my desire HD or HD2. Although the screen is so superior on the one X it is completely spoiling the experience having to wait for 10-15 seconds to wait for the video to begin and the to have the video pausing every 5 secs. IS this an issue with the phone or the wifi connection I am using. I have unchecked the high quality on mobile in settings but to no avail. Any help appreciated

stock android 4.0.3
I have the exact same problem, latest officiall update: stock 4.0.4 with sense 4.1
Youtub constanstly keeps stopping and I have to wait for download
It is not related to my internetconnection
I had the same problem on previous SW version as well....
The phone is not rooted
Just checked, it's fine here, buffering at over double real time speed, on a hd video. 1.29.708.15.
To be honest, the phone doesnt make that much different to the speed of a loading video.
Make sure its using WiFi and not data to load the video.
Also make sure a computer/laptop doesnt do it.
If it does then your WiFi needs to be quicker

if you do do this test, do it on wifi, in the same place you would normally do it on your phone. don't cheat by plugging in the cable.

I didn't mean put your laptop by your router, and run down the road with your phone?
Haha
Stock 1.29 and YouTube works perfect when I am on 3.2mbps speed WiFi and it buffers when I am slow net. It is depends on WiFi .

I believe yours is an isolated problem. My friends' and mine are perfect; plays INSTANTLY, videos are crisp, and continue to be so all the way. This is over WiFi, and I play mostly 1080p or 720p when available.
So, check your hotspot...maybe you have a free-loader in your hood
Mine plays totally fine 8Mbps down, with ARHD 9.3.1.
Only thing i've found with it since i got my HOX, was the constant stuttering on sound. Stopped using it now as its annoying,
It depends on the video IME. Even on my hardwired desktop with a 60meg connection, youtube often pauses to buffer.
Hi,
I bought Tab S 8.4 recently (3 weeks ago).
I face two issues and I appreciate your help..
1- Toucwiz: it happens frequently after I restart my tablet to find the error message (Unfortunately, Touchwiz stopped working). When I press OK, the screen blanks and starts working fine. I tried resetting the tablet to factory settings, clearing cache, clearing Touchwiz application setting.
The problem goes for some time and comes back. it doesn't really impact the tablet function but it is a kind of irritating.
2- Battery drains: I used to have ipad mini, the battery life was about 5 to 6 days.
For the Tab S, it is maximum three days. taking into consideration that I am using the tablet for emails, browsing, and rarely lite games.
Please, let me know if you face these problems and if you know the fix.
Thanks,

1. Re-flash your device firmware with Odin. Many guides about on its use. Check sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com
2. The browsing time has been shown to be less than SOME other tablets but media play exceeding most others (including mini) of the same form factor. Don't know what users expect for such a thin device device with a very high resolution. There are far more pixels to push
There is also power saving mode and ultra power saving mode. You could also use auto brightness with lower setting.
As your coming from an Apple device here are some info on best battery saving practices for Android :
7 Quick Tips To Extend Battery Life on Android 4.4 Kitkat
http://www.idroidspace.com/best-tips-to-extend-battery-life-on-android-4-4-kitkat-devices/
Specifically for Tab S:
- (I don't use this one as to me it reduces the value of my tablet) : "Select adaptive display off and use basic color better battery life but sacrifice some color". This suggestion came at the beginning of August before at least one update which may have negated it's value.
- Settings:
- Increase the time between services being synced (GMail, Calender... Etc)
- Turn off syncing for any service you don't use
- Turn off Bluetooth if your not using it
- Turn off WiFi scanning once you have added your WiFi access point(s)
- uncheck WiFi remaining alive when tablet is asleep (sorry forgot the specific setting name)
- Anything you can tolerate that reduces screen brightness.
- Turn off auto brightness and control it manually
- Reduce the auto brightness value assuming you still want auto brightness
If that is still not enough then you can install a battery app which tracks "wakelocks" (apps that keep your app awake even when it is not being used). After analyzing that info you can uninstall the worst offenders. Sometimes the worst ones are part of the system or an essential app so you must put up with the drain. See this XDA post for a good battery analysing app which is free for XDA members.

Likely the 1st link to the 7 tips article will give your the best bang for the buck.
Good luck

The weird thing is that the Touchwiz error appears only at the restart. Then the tablet continues working fine.
it is less probable to happen when I restart the tablet after it is shut down, and more probable to happen when I restart it by command.
It is not stopping me from using the tablet, but it is some how irritating.

Not a silly question.
A lot will be cleared up if you go ahead. You're data should be OK, but always recommend to save it off device.

I found the trigger ... Or I think I did
I cleared the Touchwiz data and cache .. so it went to the default configuration. I then started adding my widgets and shortcuts one by one.
I figured out that the Touchwiz fault happens when I add a short cut of an application installed on the microSD card.
I moved all the applications from the microSD to the internal memory and now Touchwiz works fine.
Now going to the microSD. The microSD I have is Transcend cat 10. It should be quite fast, and it is actually fast (R/W). However, I recall some posts regarding Transcend in-compatibility with new Samsung devices.
I have Galaxy S5 as well... same Transcend type and works fine.... BUT ... There is a Samsung application called User's digest for Samsung (or you can find it in the name of Vitamin's for Samsung).. It has a feature to place some tests to the handset. Both Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S show the microSD card test result as "Disconnected"! ... I didn't care that much on the S5 as it didn't cause any problem, but now I started to care after what happened with the Tab S.
I ordered Samsung 32GB cat 10 microSD... should arrive in a week... will let you know about my experience.
It's confirmed now the touchwiz problem while starting the tablet is triggered by microsd.
The transcend I was using was fake. I am using an original one now and I can sense the enhancement in the read speed, as well as no touchwiz problem anymore.
Thanks,
How do I reboot in safe mode in galaxy tab s t705?
Thanks
My N5X on 7.0 Nougat is super smooth & fast except in Chrome. Pages take a long time to load, switching between tabs is slow, and sometimes the browser just freezes for a few seconds.
Anyone else have issues with Chrome?

1) Your CPU might be throttled, let your phone cool down
2) Close some tabs, you don't really need 80 tabs open

Im having this problems too. Its basically only when the page loads, it just hangs at the end of the load for a, let say, 10 seconds. Meanwhile the webpage is unresponsive, thus unusable.
Its quite random, too, which can get on your nerves. ?
It happens more often than I like it too but it's whatever now. This is with a simple page being the only tab. Sometimes clearing all apps helps but other times it's still laggy. Really can't wait for the Google Pixel (Sailfish). This phone has been okay most of the time but when it lags, it's pretty bad.

Hello,
I'm trying to use DEX with one major problem, my S8+'s screen is not functional AT ALL...
The Dex startup screen shows up on my HDMI screen, but it wants me to run the app
From what I understand, starting the DEX app is a must.
So just in cast you guys have a workaround, I'll be glad to hear it.
Pretty sure there isn't one, but what the hell
Thanks a lot.

Have you tried to run the app using adb!

Hmmm... Dex should start automatically when you connect the dock, I'm absolutely sure there is no need to launch an app.
Maybe it displays a dialog on the phone's screen and waiting for a confirmation to switch to Dex mode, I don't remember.
Anyway, without the phone's screen your options are quite limited, but here's an idea: connect the dock without power source. Now you should have the screen mirrored (no Dex). Check if everything is OK. Now reconnect the power source to the dock. It should propose to switch to Dex mode. I hope it will work now!
BTW, Dex is a good solution if you want a very basic desktop without carrying a lot of stuff. But if you need to carry a non-working phone (+dock, cables, mouse etc) just to have it, it's much better to take a cheap tablet or a laptop/netbook.
