I have disabled some apps and uninstalled some via adb. Then google play store updates and reenables them! Never happened to me before with other Android phones... Facebook, Netflix, one drive are a few that just came back on their own. Anyone have a solution for this?
First, try to disable the auto update setting in playstore, if the problem continues, you can try bk disabler pro, with it you can disable all the update related services

I've blocked all the bloat that you possibly can but I also don't want apps updating without my permission. Is there any way to do that without root?
For Google Play apps simply go into Google Play Store settings and turn off auto-update. Same thing for Galaxy Apps: settings --> turn off auto-update.
There will still be notifications indicating updated apps are available but you can choose which and when to install them.

Never thought to look for a menu there. That's a big help- thanks.
Hi, I have GPS disabled but i have everytime in processes the GoogleLocationService and GoogleLocationManagerService always activated, my battery life is really bad (2h/2h30m sot). I tried stock Lollipop, CM12.1 and MM, everytime i had the same issues. Also, in stock Lollipop and stock Marshmallow i have big battery drain from Whatsapp (sometimes about 40-45%). I really love my G4 but i cant charge it 2 times per day
Try a going on safe mode for a full battery day(100 to 0%) if your battery is going better try to delet what's app or just reinstall it
What else might cause the GoogleLocationService to continuously run to provide location information constantly?
Any Google app, download AppOps and it just let you chose what app can use location (it should reduce it).
I have App Ops and i've disabled location for all things but still location activated, about WhatsApp it seems that it doesnt give any problem now. If it can help, i write a list of my installed apps:
AdAway
Facebook
Facebook Messenger
WhatsApp
Hearthstone
Twitch
Quick Boot
Youtube
Google Play Services
Google Play Store
Instagram
Root Explorer
Also there are stock cm12.1 apps (i only removed cLock)
Did you try reinstalling the Google location service?
Do you mean the play Services? Yes, i reinstalled like 4 roms. Also i have the same problem with my second phone, a Moto G 4G 2013, i have pretty much the same apps on it...maybe it's a configuration?
Probably when you configure your phone for the first time you press the Google play location (without knowing)
Impossible, i always disable it in the first configuration as i don't really need gps
What happens when you switch off the location
If i interrupt both location services they just restart by themselves
Is your Google map timeline features enable
No
Try booting until safe mode, disable your location and tell me after what happens
I give it a try, but still location activated. I Also tried to enable it and disable again, still no changes :/
You could try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice
Sent from my VS986 using XDA Free mobile app
Yea i did the same thing with system tuner, but i don't want to disable it in this way. Location services are not supposed to be enabled with gps disabled

I checked off the box in the play store to not allow auto updating. However some apps are still auto updating. For example fb and instagram auto updated. I still get notifications that there are updates available for other apps. Is there something i can do to shut off auto updates for these apps? Thank you
there is an option in gplay store too for removing notification for apps update. facebook and instagram update because there is facebook installer or so installed on system partition, which is not related to gplay store and therefore they still update...but why do you want to turn off auto update and even the notification?
Go to Settings / Apps and deactivate everything with Facebook or Instagram in its Name
You maybe have to choose "show system" in the Apps Menu

Sorry for late reply. I do not want apps updating without my permission. A lorry of times these updates make the app worse for me.
I also noticed that since the last sysytem update (2.38) my battery is significantly worse.
Im thinking about rooting they phone just to get rid of fb and instagram on phone. Wanted to dl the old fb apk that did both need messenger.

I do the same thing, I like to read what has changed in apps before updating also. there has been many times where the update has broken an app and I couldn't go back due to it not being a system app. I like viper rom cause in the installer I can remove system apps like facebook and Instagram before the initial system install and never have them auto update.
Hello Guys,
it's been at least a Month that the PlayStore don't auto-update the apps, even when the Phone is in charge. I have to update the Apps manually.
I recognize that the PlayStore app has optimization enabled for battery but when i go Setting->Battery->Optimization it don't appear in the list and i can't deactivate the optimization.
Anyone else is facing the problem? Any fix?
Do you happen to have YouTube Vanced installed and the detach feature enabled. Quite a lot of users here reported the the detach feature caused these kind of issues with the Play Store. I've had it myself...
For me, it was enough to turn if the detach feature and uninstall updates for the Play Store.

Once i tried it, but then uninstalled. I don't know what "Detach feature" is. So i can try to uninstall updates for the Play Store.

If you installed it as a Magisk module, it used to detach YouTube from the Play Store automatically. Because of this issue, it no longer does it automatically...
I'd try uninstalling updates (it's a good way to completely reset the Play Store) and see if things start working again.
I use GPM on a daily basis. I have uploaded 75k of my own music over the years and do not want to switch services. This morning I got up and went to start playing music as I always do it says "Google Play Music keeps stopping". I cleared the cache, data, uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted the phone, installed the apk from an alternate source, etc. I did some digging in CCSWE and there are some services and receivers that are disabled. I reenable them but they go back to disabling themselves. I'm not mega familiar with reinstalling these things via adb but I assume there is a fix that way. Can someone more knowledgable in this please tell me what I need to do to fix this? Thanks in advance. Note10+, Sprint, Snapdragon, November security patch 9.0.
Are you blocking other apps, using CCSWE, and did you make recent changes to apps blocked?
