Hey All, there are a lot of threads and various internet discussions for various SIII wifi problems, but I have yet to find anything that addresses my current issue:
My phone detects wifi networks that it has not connected to before, but once I have successfully connected to a wifi network and subsequently lost that connection, I can never see that wifi network again. I have tried it with a couple different networks, including a wifi hotspot created by my iphone, and it always happens. My wifi will still show networks that I have not connected to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The phone is not rooted and is using the stock Rogers firmware.
Thanks!

This hasn't always been happening... I have had the phone for a few weeks now and it started after I arrived at my company apartment in Spain last week.

your S3 might have wifi power save on
try this
1. Open up the Galaxy*S3*phone dialer
2. Dial *#0011# to enter service mode
3. Press the menu button and select “WiFi”
4. You should see that the “WiFi Power Save Mode” button is “ON”
5. Press it to turn power save “OFF”

if it doesn't work, try factory reset (also wipe cache and data)

My guess: The router is the problem. Or the router's settings. Not your phone itself.
You can test your Wifi by either connecting to another router or to someone's wifi tethering.

I get this problem on various devices occasionally. Sometimes it helps when I remove the network from memory and reconnect to it.
Ie. Click "Forget this network" and then rejoin it. Doesn't always help though.
You can unplug the router for few seconds then plug it back in to see if that works.

So sometimes in my car my wifi will randomly turn itself on, and at the same time my Bluetooth connection resets. This might happen once a week, or 5 times an hour. Happen to anyone else?
Tmobile G3 stock rooted.
Guess it's just me then. Should I return it for another?

Same here. On tmo and mobile data is faster then my home internet. And it will automatically turn itself on. Even though I have all the proper settings marked and checked

Hi
If you have BatteryGURU check the settings of Manage WIFI
i had the same problema and was it..
No battery guru here. Greenify though.
My Nexus 5x seems to be having problems with the WiFi. I have Android 6.0.1 MMB29V, and everything was working fine until I couldn't connect to my network. When I checked the WiFi settings, it seems that there isn't any network at all. I've seen in this forum that there have been some problems with the Wifi but I haven't found any solution to what's happening to me, cause it has been a few days and it still can't find any network.
How can I check if it's the antenna what is broken? I have no idea what can be happening...
Note: I've tried changing the frequency band, the "Keep WiFi on during sleep", the developer options of using the DHCP from Lolipop and some others...

Has it ever connected to your network or has it just started happening.
Have you tried turning your modem/router off for a few minutes then deleting and readding your network?

I used to be able to connect to three network I use, but now I can't even see the network. I don't think it's because of the router, cause with the PC I can see a lot of networks, none in my Nexus.
I may try to unlock bootloader and update to MHC19J and see if the problem is solved

Hey guys. As the title states I can't receive calls or texts if Wifi is on. If I turn Wifi off or get out of range the mobile data isn't turned on. Only remedy is to turn the phone off and power it back on. One work around I've found is to disable LTE and use the GSM/WCDMA auto option.
I've already tried to do a factory reset and HTC support isn't helpful. They told me to re-install the update ruu but the update they told me to download isn't up to date. Now they're saying to send the phone in, but I use this as my work phone so I really need to get it working and can't afford to not have a phone for 10 days.

This. Make sure to turn Wifi Calling on, and check that the connection preferences aren't set to "Wifi Only" and then disable again, too. I've seen a lot of people lately with issues, even with wifi calling turned off, because the preferences are set to wifi only, and it refuses to connect to mobile, even though it's supposed to be off. See it all the time on Samsung phones.

Well I was super hopeful this would fix my issues. Sadly for the 2nd time today I've been told my phone wasn't working. Guess we'll just have to wait for a new patch.
This software update broke wifi calling for me. Tmo, unlocked htc10.

Hi everyone,
I have now my OnePlus 3 for 3 weeks and I have noticed that when I'm long in my WiFi network and than I go out of my Wifi (Disconnect). And than it don't Connect to Mobile Network for data. And yes mobile data are aktivatet, the settings shows that the Data Service is off. But this is only so when I'm long in WiFi if I'm only for 20 minutes than it Connect to Mobile Data.

No APN reset don't work. Get Disconnect from Mobile Data Service. But I see that the settings says when it is connected Network Type EDGE. But if it gets Disconnected then it says GSM
Edit: Attached ScreenShots
Go to developer options and turn on "cellular data always active". I use that on my phone and it picks up the cell signal almost instantly when out of WiFi range. I am still getting about 5 hrs SOT. ,
Okay i think this is gonna work, instand Switch to Mobile Data. And what to you mean with SOT @calbrs
Today i downloadet the system Update 3.2.2 and I think this bug is patched with this update . Actually no issues with the Mobile Data connection
EDIT: NO DONT work same issue

I have exactly the same issue with my OP3 OOS 3.2.2, no root. It is really annoying
Me too, it isn't handling the switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi very well, not sure whether it's just one way, when i get to work and connect to work Wi-Fi I've ended up having to turn off mobile data to get it to use the Wi-Fi connection.

It is two way. That's my observation. I am very disappointed from the phone which has such problems with basic thing like wi-fi connection. I think this will be my first and last OP phone!
So has anyone found a solution to this issue? What kind of flagship killer has problems with such basic functionality?
I've read on other forums that some devices have a feature called Smart Network Switch, but I can't find that anywhere.
And I really don't think it's the APN...I've modified it in all possible ways and it's still happening...not switching automatically but starts working after switching to airplane mode and back. And the "aggressive" switch option doesn't work either.
If anyone has any idea about how to fix this or how it can be further investigated, please share, it's becoming really annoying. Thanks!

I activated the Mobile Data on in the Developer Options and for me it works pretty well.
The IPv4/IPv6 solution seemed to work. I still have issues when connecting to the wireless network (company wifi, with login credentials and the whole deal) but I used to have the same issue with my Nexus 5, meaning that I have to be disconnected from the mobile data to access the wifi network's login page (forgot to mention this in my previous post). Anyway, I'm happy that I don't have to switch to airplane mode anymore Thanks everyone!
