Flash mode for my XA1 Ultra isn't right - Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra Questions & Answers

Put it simple, the phone won't stay in flash mode. It will perform a full boot after a while when I connect it in flash mode. And, newflasher will say "No usb device with vid:0x0fce pid:0xb00b" when the green led is still lit (which means the phone is in flash mode).
I already have all drivers installed and performed many times of xperia device flashing on my PC.
Anyone knows anything about this? Thanks in advance.

Ok, flashing the device using Flashtool now...done.
Looks like the newflasher has some compatibility issues here.

[Q] Help needed! Cannot go into fastboot mode!

I've done something to my Xperia Arc that has now stopped me from being able to flash any new kernels to it... I am unable to use flashtool as when I connect my Arc into fastboot mode flashtool says it's connected as flash mode, which really perplexes me to how this could have happened!?...
This incident happened after I flashed advanced stock kernel for Arc/s from here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838641 however, I don't think it was the kernel flashing that done the damage. I think from what I can remember, I think I tried flashing a firmware (ftf) file whilst in fastboot mode, the funny thing is that the flashing continued to beyond the 1st stage (where it pops up with a box asking you to hold back button whilst plugging the micro-usb into my Arc) and when I realized this I pulled the plug and it's then I found I can not go into fastboot mode anymore.
As far I know from previous experiences that flashing a firmware with flashtool to my Arc in fastboot mode will not work as flashtool stays on this pop up box and will only continue to flash when the phone is put into flash mode (correct me if I'm wrong)...
So, I'm stuck with the kernel I last flashed and can only use custom roms that will be compatible with this kernel, and until the dev releases a wifi lib modules the custom roms can only gain internet access via mobile data only...
Is there any way I can gain fastboot mode different to the normal hold-menu then plug in cable method as I am desperately in need of a different kernel with working wifi modules, so, please please please anyone help me PLEASE!!!
Thanks to all that can help!...
Fastboot is now back!
Well, it seems that flashing OptiMax v2 rom helped to restore fastboot access and now I can fastboot flash kernels again using the traditional method with flashtool... Seeing as I got it working again and no one is interested in helping with this discussion, it may as well be closed off!...

Please help. R800x boots into a weird screen?

(Just expaining how i got to the screen...in a lot of detail) Okay so yesterday i unlocked my bootloader through sonys website and everything was fine. Then i decided to try to put CM9 on it from a tutorial i found, didnt work. I then flashed back to verizons 2.3.3 through flashtool and everything was fine...but then i decided i wanted to go back to ZeuscNXTLite rom, i was lazy and used the recoveryPLAY.img to go to CWM. I forgot to clear the cache, data, etc. and i thought it was in a hard-brick because i could hold the power button all it would do is vibrate and i could still put it into flash boot(or whatever the green light means) but the screen always stayed black. I left it on my charger all night hoping it would magically come back i guess...today i got home to find the green light on it flashing faintly and quickly. I decided maybe its working now if i flash the .ftf so i did. Nothing happened so i thought maybe it was the bootloader so i tried using a bootloader relocker .ftf file but that just made my computer inable to recognize my phone. It would flash red a few times now when i plugged it into flashboot then go to flash mode and i could use flashtool. I tried adding the 2.3.3 .ftf back to my phone but it failed halfway through. So about 4 mins after doing this i look at my phone and see the Sony Ericsson screen but after that screen i see a triangle with an exclamation point inside of it and a phone under it. It keeps booting to this screen then shutting off over and over again. Now my question...does anyone know how to fix this? I dont really think its still in a brick since it goes to this weird screen.
Sorry for the extensive explanation. Also sorry if this was a repeat i tried searching but honestly have no clue what to search or even call this.
If you can still use flashtool follow this great guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054512 so you can fastboot a kernal and get into cwm then you can flash a new rom after wiping everything. :fingers-crossed:
The yellow triangle means you're in download mode, but I don't know what to do since I never had it on the Play.
Flashing the ftf will fail sometimes, you can keep re trying, its finicky so you have to make sure to use a good cable, preferably on a USB port that is not 3.0, and have few other USB devices connected at the sametime as possible.
The reason why CM9 didn't work because sometimes the kernel included does not boot. The boot.img from the FXP152's CM9 rom is one of the working one, you can separately flash it using fastboot.
I flashed a bootloader lock ftf file so wouldnt installing a kernel brick my phone again? Also could flashing the stock ftf file again while my phone is in download mode brick my phone? I'm just being extra careful now...dont want a hard bricked phone.

Did flashing the bootloader lock ftf file work? you need to find out if your bootloader is locked or unlocked. If you have phone off, and hold on to search and you plug in USB to computer and get blue light your bootloader is unlocked (flashboot mode)If its unlocked just flash a kernel wipe and install a custom rom
If it is locked and you can use flashtool you can flash a stock ftf. Kernal is included in stock rom which you can find on forum
Ok i just put the stock ftf on it through flashtool. I tried to turn it on and it shows the Sony Ericsson screen and then the Android screen the turns off. Any help? It's at least showing the charging screen right now...
Also bootloader is locked. Just checked with the fastboot.exe

That good :good: Not bricked did you wipe data & cache in flashtool when you flashed ftf?
Yes i wiped cache, app log, and data. Im also using an older version of flashtool...maybe upgrading will help? Gonna check

why you never start a project when tired. Bootloader mess up *SOLVED*

What can you do when you install a custom ROM (PAC-man) onto a device with a LOCKED bootloader - I literally had just selected the wrong zip file from CWM right before bed. Super tired and not paying attention.. Device vibrates, led goes red briefly, then off. Is there something I can do to recover?
edit - update:
its now sitting plugged in via usb and flashing red.
SOLVED - was able to use flashtool and flashed it with the generic ftf file - all good it looks like
bed time. Irk
:good:
loaded flashtool - can get device in fastboot or flash mode - I'm guessing I can install Xperia_ZL_C6506_10.1.A.1.434_Customized_US_1270-7584_R8A - and get back to the beginning?
Yeah these phones are pretty hard to brick, Flashtool will fix just about every problem.

[Q] Unable to access flashmode (green led), need help!

Hi,
I've just rooted the device (c6503), backed up TA-keys, and finally unlocked the bootloader using the official way through sony website. The phone booted fine and my next step was flashing a custom rom... That's when **** happend. I downloaded P.A.C True All in 1 ROM[Nightlies] and followed the instructions how to flash. Flashed the boot.img and then you need to reboot the device in recovery but the 3 sec violet led never happend...
Now I have downloaded stock ftf (C6503_10.1.A.1.434_Customized_DE.ftf) and want to flash it with flashtool but I'm unable to boot the device in flashmode (green led). I can however boot in flashboot mode (blue led) but as I understand, that doesn't help because i can't boot into recovery.
I never flashed a recovery, is that a problem?
What can i do now? Is the phone bricked?
Thanks in advance!

It happened to me also.
Start Flashtool, choose your xxxx.ftf and wait till it totally loads (do not connect your phone yet). Now, when your Flashtool is totally ready and the small window opens with the instruction how to connect the phone, open the small backcover of your phone and press-hold the small yellow button till it rings x3 times (it takes ~10-13 seconds to hold the button). Now, do not waist time, press-hold volume down and insert the usb cable, the flashing should start.
I had similar problem and I guess my phone root is corrupted, I cannot download updates directly from Sony but I can flash updates without problems.
If anyone knows how (if its possible) totally reflash everything, you help will be appreciated.
Good luck.
Alright, it seems like I'm having some problems with the usb drivers for flashtool... Are there different drivers for flashmode and fastboot? Because the fastboot drivers seems to be working correct but not flashmode drivers. Running windows xp, maybe that is a problem too Can someone please point me to the right direction of where i can download those usb drivers?
I have the modified android_winusb.inf for the Xperia Z but that doesn't seems to be enough.
I managed to flash FXP cm10.1 and got it running which also gave me a working recovery. But I would like to try out the P.A.C True All in 1 ROM[Nightlies] but when I flash the boot.img of that one I lose the recovery.... Weird, my old HTC desire Z always had the same recovery without any problems while flashing all kinds of ROM:s. This is indeed confusing.
Should i flash the boot.img of the ROM and then a recovery? If so which recovery? As i understand all the recoveries are for stock kernel but the kernel for these custom ROM:s could not be stock right? I'm a bit confused here really
Excuse my bad spelling and such, english is not my main language.
Thank ChimPilot for the quick reply!
Go to Google Play Store and download: Superuser, X-parts and ROM manager. Those are must haves if you are playing with ROMs.
You are in better shape if you can access the bootloader because I cannot, so I am considering to reflash everything and that would be my weekend project.
The problem I have is corrupt path to root and so Sony's PC companion spit me out, Sony's SUS does not go through and my last try would be Emma but it requires unlocked bootloader which is corrupt in my case. If anyone would give me a hint which directon to follow, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Fixed![Q] Need help, phone not booting, flashtool nolonger recognizes it

So it looks like I have some real trouble here. My phone will no-longer boot up, the only thing I can do is go into clockworck mod recovery, I can't flash a custom rom, and I can't go back.
The only way to connect my phone to the PC so that fastboot will recognize it's there is fastboot mode, but that does me no good. I can't install a stock ftf via flashtool anymore, it keeps saying it fails.
PC companion won't restore or fix my phone's original software, because it detects customs software and states it can't be updated.
Anyone know anything I can do?
Edit:
I figured it out myself, I used Sony's own Flashtool EMMA, I was confused due to the existance of the other Flashtool, but yeah, this is fantastic:
