If I flash Global ROM on my chinese version of Mi6 and lock the bootloader (since I want to sell the phone), will it brick it?
I heard of some cases that flashing Global and locking the bootloader on a chinese Xiaomi will brick it, but I don't know if this is for newer models or all models like the Mi6.
I bought my Mi6 from China and I am flashing everything without any problem

I am eager tho buy note 5 china as i am on tight budget but i want to know that ..As global fastboot firmware is available now for note 5 . So do that firmware will work on the china version ?
As the global and china version doesn't have any specification difference (else only band 20).
So, Did somebody tried flashing the official global firmware ?
Do that work ?
In my openion, Pro version has different camera that was the cause of camera problem on that firmware. But official global version of note 5 is same as the china version .so,firmware should work.

As you said, there is no difference between China and Global version devices (only band 20). You can flash the global fastboot ROM without issue
But TAKE A BACKUP before doing anything !
Redmi note5pro and global are known as redmi note 5 in china
The rom is compatible am using Chinese rom in indian redmi note5 pro device

I flashed the Global leaked MIUI which was based on Oreo and my device is Redmi Note 5 AI (China). I didn't face any problems at all. You can try but always have backup in TWRP.

That leak has the rom for the pro(indian) version as pro is mentioned in the file name.
the leaked 8.1 global fastboot rom is now available. Working like charm.
That's what wanted.

I recently bought the 6gb/128GB model and want to change it to global. It came with MIUI 9.6.3.0 China Stable ROM. When I try to flash the Redmi Note 5 Pro Global Stable ROM 9.5.19.0 it states "Sorry, flash order version is not allowed". Do I need to wait until the Global ROMs reach 9.6.3.0 at least until I can switch over?
Yes. Its better to wait.
Forcing and flashing your ROM to the older version will brick your device completely.

no, it comes. A few days ago Xiaomi released 6/128 version with price of 6/64
Hi, is this really happening. I guess we're going with EU roms then?

The inability to flash a Global ROM on a phone manufactured for the Chinese market and vice versa doesn't apply to phones with unlocked bootloaders.
And what about the phones that have been sold in past months? I have an unlocked bootloader on my phone because I like .eu roms, so I have no problem, but I have a lot of friends & family that bought Xiaomi phones and they are china version phones with global roms installed. Will their phones brick if they update their phone with the global rom? (not changing from global to china rom, just updating their current global rom to a newer one being their from a China version)
Exactly what I am trying to say here - This policy is retro-active and screws up a global audience. Like it or not majority of us who've flashed global ROMs on chinese hardware are NOT developers looking to check sum and flash weekly - we're just looking for decent devices, locked bootloaders, and that they're not out of firmware updates in 2 years FU Google.
As far as I know only recent 2018 devices are affected by this new policy...
Xiaomi EU ftw

Hi all. Does anyone could explain me the difference between the two firmware.
On xiaomifirmwareupdater.com there are both of them, but I haven't found what is the difference?
May I install a China fw on a global device or I will brick it?.
Tnx
It's safe to flash it. Xiaomi EU uses the China Beta ROMs and Globalized them to include other languages that would be in a Normal Global beta rom from Xiaomi...so with that being said I feel it's safe because if Xiaomi EU and Miroom uses the China Beta as their base then I assume that you flashing just the firmware will not brick your device.

Tnx.
Have you any idea where to find the differences?
Unfortunately not at the moment but I will look into it and get back to you if I find something.
or whats the difference?
Yes they are the same. Only difference is the MIUI that's bundled with it. All custom ROMs on this forum support K40 and Poco F3.

Hello
If they are the same is possible to instal the original MIUI ROM instead the MIUI FOR POCO?
hello!
Identical phone.
POCO F3 is just a rebrand of the Redmi k40 made for the global market outside of china (mi 11x is the rebrand made for the indian market).
The MIUI changes, precisely because they are marketed in different countries.
From what I have read it is possible to install Chinese stock roms on global phones (only with unlocked bootloader and being careful of the anti roolback) but not the other way around.
For castom roms there should be no compatibility problems, as for recovery. However in the thread of each castom rom it says in which phone it is possible to install it.

You can lock the bootloader only with the rom of the region the phone was born with. If when you bought it there was the stock india and you flashed the stock global, blocking the bootloader goes into brick. The bootloader can only be locked with the original firmware. make sure, when you block, that there is the original rom on the phone, if not, it goes into brick
good to know it, it should be written with big red letters!

It's quite interesting because with my old Mi9 I can swap regions even with locked BL but trick was with MI ASSISTANS or something like this (XiaoMiTool V2 software).
Is it possible with F3 as well? If not - why? Some kind of info inside one of the partition? Or because A/B system?

Personally i haven't tried that software to change region with locked bootloader, i can't tell you if it works or not.
However, I do not recommend carrying out any modding operation with a locked bootloader, it is very risky, and if there are problems it is very difficult to restore it.
Since unlocking the bootloader does not invalidate the warranty and is accepted by xiaomi, it is the best solution to carry out modding operations with the least possible risk of brick.

This is not true. I have a Redmi K40 purchased in China, and I can install global ROMs just fine (Xiaomi.eu, EEA, etc).
