mms restore method for post rom update?

Good morning! So, before updating to the newest dopod rom on my qtek 9000, I figured I'd be wise and cover my bases by backing my email/sms/mms up via sprite AND spb just to make sure of a good back up method, and even tested restoring them without incident. Well... that's where the goodness left off. I was silly and hand taken the time to read up on the restore process, and after the rom update, when I ran a restore, even of just the emails, it manages to hose the entire system. So, looks like I'm gonna be tryin to flash back down to the old rom and restore the stuff... and figure some way to export it all, then import it into the new configuration. Anybody got any ideas?

You may have missed the official tutorial on Device Upgrade mode - you MUST remove all POP3 accounts before backing up.

Question? I downloaded OTA today or I thought I did.

I had rooted my phone a few months back and used Skyraiders 1.9b rom for a bit. After hearing about an ota coming out I decided to go back to the original stock rom by just using my nandroid backup. So today I get my OTA update and my phone gets stuck on the ! inside the triangle screen. I reboot and I am still on 2.1 and the old radio and can not get back to the OTA update. Any help?
2.1 Update-1
Baseband 1.00.03.04.06
Kernel 2.6.29-cc1c2268
htc-Kernal
I am guessing I need to get Clockwork Recovery off of my phone any tips on doing that? Did a search and came up with nothing.
Thread moved to Q&A.
Oops sorry.
Forget it I am just updating my rom through XDA. Was hoping to do the OTA, but this will work fine.
Actually you should have just let it sit. I know some have said in just a few minutes I had Froyo. Well it's longer than that, and it seemed to hang up on the green triangle with the phone image um twice? I want to say. I just got up and walked away before I touched it. I think you stopped it from updating. If it doesn't get repushed you may have to run the rom or update.zip that's going around.
I let it sit for 25 minutes. I thought that was alittle excessive. I downloaded from the XDA forums. All is good and I am loving froyo with my 720p video and my flash works with the camcorder! Nice!

[Q] Clock Widget Problem or Suggestion

So in response to the new OTA being rolled out, I wanted to do an update on my phone. But unfortunately after doing some reinstallations of crapware in order to make sure everything was verified, I realized that I had modified my HtcClockWidget.apk.
Now I can't really update with this new OTA because it won't accept any clock widget that I try to use. The stock widget that some people post might be the one before a patch onto it or something. So I don't really know what to do now.
Also, I don't recall making a nandroid backup before modifying the apk. (Whoops.) So I don't really wanna roll back to the beginning or so. Does anyone have any suggestions or links to get things fixed or should I just reset my phone and work around things again? Or, screw the update all together and just install a custom rom to my phone? (But I'm okay with the current stock rom/firmware.)

Rooted + removed sprint bloatware, EB13 to EC05

So I've been trying to search around for this answer but couldn't find anything so I decided to start my own thread. I apologize if this has already been covered. Just wanted to let everyone know that I did try to search.
So I manually updated to EB13, rooted and removed a lot of the bloatware. I see a lot of people saying go back to Di18 and then update to EC05 but frankly, I don't want to have to go through that process.
Will there be an update.zip eventually for people like me who have rooted and removed bloatware? I know you can't get the OTA if you've done this because you need the sprint apps. Someone also posted a link that even if you do restore the bloatware, the OTA still may not install.
I went through the hassle of a fresh install to get to EB13 and I just don't want to have to go through all that again. I want to keep all my data intact but eventually get to EC05. I'm willing to wait but if it's not possible, then I'll have to spend a day, flash back to Di18 and update to EC05. In which case I may not even bother.
TIA.
I'm wondering the same thing. Did you have any luck going to EC05?

I did the no data loss version here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/epi...o-ec05-prerooted-cwm-v2-5-1-0-rfs-odexed.html
If you aren't already registered, do so. You can then download everything you need to update to EC05 and keeping all your current data intact.
Followed the step by step instructions and didn't have any problems. Good luck.
In the developement section there is a guide to update to ec05. I used Odin and didn't lose any information or apps.
I just flashed the EC05 modem in CMW, I didn't even wipe the cache.

Disable Verizon ota update nag?

Is there a way to do this? I'm getting the nag constantly since I'm still on 4.0.4 and I want to wait til someone does a deodexed version of stock rooted jb before updating...
It pops up in the middle of everything I'm doing, makes the phone almost unusable at this point.
You can try rename the file.
Etc/security/otacerts.zip rename to otacerts.zip. bak
That appears to have worked. Thank you so much...I was ready to smash my phone this morning.
Its back! any other options?
