Hey everyone, hoping to get some clarity.
I recently join Verizon Unlimited business plan hoping for better signal and speeds. I can agree that I have better service however my speeds are horrible. Ranging from 1-3 at most. I come from att using the same phone and data speed and website loaded much quicker.
Wondering if anyone else experiences these issues or just me.
I need some tips or things to check or try to maybe fix these issues.

Hello everyone,
I am having a serious crisis. So let me give you a little back story. I previously had a unlocked gnex and I had been using it with straight talk att and simple mobile. My particular phone didn't like straight talk at all I was always having data problems and the reception and data were very slow. Simple mobile worked great and very fast and the soft data cap I found was a lot higher than att's. I sold my gnex a few weeks ago before the nexus 4 launch so I could get more money for it. I have been using a Nokia E5-00 in the mean time on straight talk and fr some reason it has been great way better reception and the data is actually faster than what I was getting on my gnex even though this phone only supports hspa+7.5 instead f the full hspa+21 the gnex had. I really want a Galaxy Note 2, but I have been hesitant of ATT's network and I am afraid I will have the same roblems as I had with my gnex. So I wanted the T-mobile version because it would give me the flexibility to switch between the above listed carriers and since prepaid doesn't have lte support I could get the hspa+42 and know I will get faster data than ATT. I have to get the phone from amazon, long story but that is where I have to get it, they dont seem to be getting the t-mo version anytime soon and everywhere is on back order, but I cant deal with using this E5 any longer. I can get a ATT Galaxy note 2 and they just turned on LTE where I live in Columbus, Ohio. I had 2 questions I hope somebody can help me out with, since I am using prepaid and wont get LTE is there a hack to make the LTE work? Also is the HSPA+ on ATT going to provide faster speeds than before now that LTE has launched relieving some strain on hspa+ and providing more back-haul to the sites? Any incite would be gratefully apreciated
Anybody else having any trouble with speed of Straight talk on ATT. I am running LoserRom and before today I had good speed. All of the sudden I am only getting 150KB in several locations. Called and they said I am not throttled. Any Ideas?:

Yeah I have terrible speeds and connections issues using ST on ATT. My H+ speeds average from 60-700kb but most of the time I have to constantly toggle airplane mode off and on just to use the data. I have tried switching to the T-mobile side of ST and data was 1000x better, I was getting 12mbps+ down but voice and signal was not as good as ATT so I switched back. I think its just a ATT MVNO issue so we prepaid users dont affect there contract customers bandwidth.

I wouldn't fret too bad, I get on par speeds back when I was on AT&T. All of a sudden I am kicked down to Edge and it will eventually go back. I keep a very close eye on my data usage so I know it isn't throttling. $45+taxes a month compared to $90 bill is worth getting slow pockets of data. Not trying to go off topic but they also just announced $2.50 off each month for auto bill pay. Every penny helps I suppose when you want to avoid the big bill of AT&T.
I currently have the Note 2, with some reception and call sound quality issues. I was wondering if anyone has made a jump from the 2 to 4, and if they found that the above issues were improved.
I don't want to waste the time testing the device out, not to mention the hassle with dealing with Sprint support in trying to get a refund and renew my upgrade option.
As a short example of my current issues. My reception varies greatly, but in general I see a lot of 3G. Especially in any indoor areas, reception is pretty weak. Usually at the 2mb/s and under range. Call audio is also a huge issue since day one, and people often can't hear me, and they usually sound garbled, etc.
Any thoughts are much appreciated.
Hey! I jumped from the s3 a couple weeks ago and yeah I have seen a serious improvement! The new LTE spark for sprint is actually really good. I mean speed wise it's average like normal LTE but reception wise its alot better. I get it even in my basement. I would suggest making the jump. Totally worth it. (PS 3g speeds are also a lot more consistent for me, it could be tower improvements or something but the new phone has helped a lot) and if you have spark in your local area I would highly recommend the leap!
Thanks for the response.
I really don't want to renew with Sprint if it's going to be the "same ol' experience, different device". They keep telling me I have multiple towers in the immediate area of my home that are fully upgraded, yet I've seen no improvement in service.
I had the Galaxy S III and got the Note 4 - not the comparison you were looking for but I'll share my experience. I live in Seattle, where Sprint is expanding LTE coverage. But my S III reception was never great. Driving around today, I was in one area where my Speedtest result was 48Mbps download, almost twice what I see on my home Comcast network. Measurements in the 10-20Mbps were more the usual case. But compared to my S III, both reception and download speeds are significantly improved - this alone made the upgrade worth it to me. I couldn't be happier with this device at the moment.
Has anyone made a zip for the new radio?
If I have time I will do it tonight. I'll post in in my rom thread. Just curious, why do you need the modem unless you haven't upgraded to NK2 via OTA or Odin tar?

I have NK2 on my phone and it did nothing to improve my .5 to 1Mbs LTE in a SPARK area. So not real sure this is even worth your effort.

Having issues at work. I get the 40+ Mbit B41, its just that for some reason it wants to kick over to 3G fairly often. I have to do a few PRL updates to get back on it. I understand the B41 tower is a little ways away but i know from owning the note 2 that they have the slower B25 in the area too as i used to get it all the time with out issue and my note 4 never seems to connect to it, only B41.
Sprint said they are going to monitor me and my area and send me an update in a few days. They also suggested i take the new update but i dont really dont want start over right now so trying just the radio.

Many including myself are having low LTE speeds. I have been going back and fourth with Sprint for three weeks now and am on my second Note 4 with the same issue.
I got elevated to a Senior Tech and he said that Samsung has said there is an issue with some N4's and Sprints LTE according to a log only he and those at his level has access to. He advised having Samsung reflash it. So I took it to a lcal repair facility after getting a service ticket from Samsung which also took a week of phone calls back and fourth. They reflashed it today and it still has the same problem. Near their facility I got 25Mbs.
At home however I only get .5 to 1Mbs and according to their coverage map aI am in SPARK heaven.
It's not your phone, it's Sprint. I've been dealing with the exact same thing for years. They keep sauing they're working on the network but I've seen faster data speeds on disposable prepaid flip phones. Your data speeds will depend on the tower you're connected to. I don't know what's taking so long for Sprint to get their network coverage and dats speeds consistent throughout a region but it hasn't happened yet from my experience. I get around 1mb download and anywhere from 250kbps to 500is on uploads. The speeds on LTE at my house aren't great but in other parts of town it works a lot better. I assume Sprint doesn't consider certain areas a "priority" on their upgrade list. So you can stop thinking it's your phone because I doubt very seriously that's the problem, I used to think the exact same thing and went through several device swaps with the same results. Sprint will give you the runaround and point the finger at anything and everything as well as claim they are working on the towers/network. Well they've been working on the towers around here since they introduced WiMax and the HTC EVO. Yes I've seen big improvements with data speeds and coverage but after this much time I expected a lot better data speeds. Like I said, Sprint doesn't consider some areas a priority and they don't do much to improve or upgrade in those places because it's not lucritive or cost effective due to the customer base in that given area. Now other places where you would expect very good service but only see 3G speeds on LTE, there's just no excuse for that because Sprint has had a LOT of time to get the network up to par with the likes of T-Mobile etc. It is what it is.

I follow S4GRU and they also indicate it is the towers that choose, which is frustrating esp. when it seemingly kicks to 3g as soon as i start streaming a video.
My issue is not data speeds (even B25 gives me upwards of 8Mbit which is pleanty for video streaming), its staying connected to LTE.
I at least want to have the new radios installed so i can tell them i have NK2. I want to follow their procees through and if i still have the problem staying connected to LTE then i want a monthly discount untill its fixed (which theyve given before when i was getting no 4G at all in my area.
I went to Sprint in 2010 for the EVO and the WiMax that was up in my area, but its been a long painful rollout of the LTE. The reasin I stay is the old unlimited everything plan i still have.

I get the same damn thing, start streaming video on lte and then the note 4 drops to 3g, streaming is unusable at that speed. My s4 streamed perfectly fine and locked lte in the exact same areas. All the excellent real estate and I can't use it except on the wifi I pay for. I have old plan that has unlimited data and I'm not using it, note 4... Out
I've had the s6 edge for a couple of weeks and I love it but I'm noticing I'm having extremely slow data speeds. I had an s4 before I got the edge and I was easily getting up to 30mbps but now on the s6 I'm lucky if I even get 3mbp. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I contacted tmobile and they just try to convince me to upgrade and get more data I already have 3gb and don't even use them all. Thanks any help is appreciated
It only happened when most of the people are using an absurd amount of data (like 15 or more GBs).:good:
