Problems with GEAR S3 connection - Samsung Galaxy A50 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, anybody seeing continous disconnections/reconnections with Gear S3? I removed battery optimisation from any system app relatred to bluetooth, and gear s3 plugin too. I reset to factory settings twice but no joy, it bloody vibrates 8/10 times a day when this garbage disconnects and then reconnects to the gear s3.
Also I disabled vibration in the bluetooth disconnection windows but still vibrates on disconnection, it is very frustrating. I contacted samsung support and they were useless, as usual.
Any clever suggestion?

I am facing the same problem with Galaxy Watch. Nothing helps. Also Samsung support useless.
I have an idea, please help me verify : disable wifi on A50 and observe if disconnections occur.
I suspect that bluetooth disconnections are in some way related to wifi connectivity of the phone.

I have the same problem too, did you activate battery saving? I had it activated yesterday and I had a lot of disconnection, since I turned it off this morning, I had none for the moment I finally got some disconnection

[Q] Loss of BT and WiFi every day

I received a brand new Galaxy Note 4 from Sprint a few months ago to replace a problematic LG G2, but didn't activate it until last week (it sat in it's box prior to that and wasn't even turned on). At first, it worked great, but recently it has been losing Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz (I think) WiFi connectivity every day or so (usually when I wake up in the morning), and the only way to get it back is to restart the phone.
Has anyone heard of this? Or have any suggestions on troubleshooting or resolutions?
Thanks very much!
Three things to mention:
1) I did the tap & go to transfer my data from my old LG G2 (running some version of Android 4.x - I can't remember which one specifically) to my Note 4, but that was a week or so ago and the problems only started in the last few days.
2) The Note 4 came with a version of Android 4.x, but I updated it to Android Lollipop - again, this was done a week or so ago and the device seemed to work with no issues after doing it.
3) I am using the Samsung Gear 2 watch with the phone via Bluetooth but it seems all BT connectivity dies when the above issue happens (such as no ability to connect it to my car BT, etc.)
Thanks for any assistance!
Have you changed the visibility timeout to never? Then keep Wi-Fi on during sleep? For the Bluetooth problem, which I had also,I did a factory reset and haven't had as many problems since.

Thanks for the info. I haven't ever made any of those setting changes previously, which is what leads me to believe something is wrong. For Bluetooth visibility, it is set to "2 minutes", but wouldn't this just be when a device is initially connecting to my phone, and not when a device is already connected? And for WiFi, it is set to "Always" for "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep", so this is already set per your suggestion. Basically, things used to work fine, and now every night it seems to lose BT and 2.4 GHz WiFi. Per suggestions on another forum, I did a cache partition wipe, but this doesn't seem to have helped. This morning I woke up, and the device had lost it's connection with my 2.4 GHz WiFi network (wasn't even seeing it), and had connected to my 5 GHz WiFi network, and while it still showed connected to my Samsung Gear 2 watch, I don't think BT was working since I tried to connect it to another BT device and it failed. I then restarted, and it worked fine (until tomorrow morning presumably). I'd prefer not to hard reset, especially since there's no guarantee doing so will fix the issue and it won't just re-occur, and because it'll take me a lot of time to back everything up, hard reset, and then restore data, settings, and customizations to my device.
Any other suggestions or thoughts? Thanks!
I just wanted to say that my connectivity timeout is set to two minutes as well. I use my BT everyday for my headset and my head unit in my big truck and have had no issues.

Thanks for the info! This is so frustrating - just started using this device, and already it's broken...lol! Anyone have any other good thoughts or suggestions on what I might be able to do to resolve without a hard reset? Thanks!
Any other thoughts/suggestions? I'm open to Anything at this point!!
I spoke with someone at Sprint Tech Support, and they had me turn off WiFi Power Save Mode using *#0011# (and then choosing WiFi from the three dots menu) to see if this would help resolve the above issues. It didn't, and now even after re-enabling the power save mode, things have gotten worse. Now, every time I leave a location where I'm on WiFi (such as my home), my device's WiFi never refreshes to auto reconnect to other WiFi SSID's elsewhere. So even if I leave my home and arrive at an office where I've previously saved a WiFi connection, the phone stays on 4G/LTE until I manually turn off WiFi and then turn it back on a minute or so later. And I still think the 2.4 GHz issue (above) is happening as well.
WiFi is basically useless on my phone now - anyone have any ideas at all?
Thanks!

bluetooth crashes phone

My oneplus 3 seems to crash sometimes when I make a call over Bluetooth it's very annoying as I have to reboot the phone and after a reboot works OK for a while.. Anyone heard or have a fix for this problem. Please
Same for me
I have the oxygen 3.2.1 upgraded
When the Bluetooth turned and Google map is active while driving. The phone will self reboot, especially when I travel between Nevada and Arizona, the phone will reboot. the problem seems to be when switching to another roaming station during the Bluetooth connected to another device, the phone will crash and reboot.
I searched the other forum and it seems many people are having the same issue.

Troubleshooting assistance - random wifi/bluetooth shutoffs / network loss

To start-
I am running the latest version of Pure Nexus. My 5x had been working perfectly til the update to Android 7.1.1
My Nexus is appx. 1 year old. I am currently on Google Fi.
This is my problem. The bluetooth and wifi will randomly shut off. It seems to happen when I wake the phone from doze- I can be listening to music on bluetooth headphones, then I wake the screen to do something and the bluetooth and wifi will shut off. I have also noticed that the cellular network may be resetting- not always, but sometimes. I've tried adjusting battery settings to no avail.
My question- what should I check? Is there a log that may be helpful? Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks for the help!
Just an update. Moved to latest update. Problem is still there. Has anyone got any idea if the problem is with the ROM, the settings, or the phone?

Nougat Bluetooth Issues

Since nougat, I've had these BT issues.
1) BT will seemingly at random turn off
2) BT, while on, will disconnect from Android Wear
3) Related to 2, my Anymote Home (BT LE) will not connect
Is this happening to anyone else?
happen to me. i cant use my watch anymore.
random turn off ~ 10 times a day.
In my case, it looks like it is open, however the connection gets lost. I use it on my car BTW.
For a solution if I turn off and on the car nothing changes, if I turn off and on the Bluetooth, it is fixed. So, the problem is definitely on the phone side.
Mine has the same issue (random switch off, poor connection to my smartwatch). I would be very interested if someone knows how to fix it.
Thanks!
Update: now it randomly disconnects from my smartwatch (Huawei Watch) and needs to be reconnected manually.
I'm starting to hate this phone!
2nd update: did I tell you I bought this phone last week? Very disappointing...
Update #3: I marked Bluetooth server as an exception in battery optimization. Had no effect.
Update #4: Solved?
I did some research and I found that this isn't a Z5 Premium problem but a Nougat problem. I'm (somewhat) relieved.
During that research I found a possible solution: reset your network (settings>back-up & restore>reset network>reset settinigs). And (dare I say) it worked! I did the reset 24 hours ago and Bluetooth didn't shut down once! :good:

Bluetooth disconnections and unpairing driving me to distraction

My issue seems to be different from others' as mine isn't just bluetooth losing its connection - it actually unpairs.
In my car (it has an Android Auto compatible infotainment system) it works fine for ages then fails to connect all of a sudden. Then after a while a message pops up on the car's screen saying "bluetooth pairing successful". The phone then asks me for contact sharing permissions. Of course it screws up the smart unlock feature as a result forcing me to set it up again.
On my Huawei watch 2 sport it loses connection and so the wear os app says the watch is disconnected. Bluetooth settings show the watch to be invisible and, as a result, smart unlock gets unconfigured and I have to set it up again. The watch battery discharges very quickly - probably constantly searching for the phone.
I reboot of both devices seems to fix it, for a while.
This is all since the Pie official update.
Does anyone have any fixes please?

No fixes but same problems here
I'm having the same issue also very frequently with WiFi dropping all the time. These two reasons are linked from what I been told. Google telling me to RMA. The pain of that
Mine has done this with my Gear S3 watch since I first got the phone a few months ago, it had me seriously considering returning it for a while. Sometimes it would just disconnect from the bluetooth, but often it would unpair causing me to have to go through the whole set up process again. It did this on Android O, various DP builds of P but so far (touch wood) has been good with the latest version of the Samsung software and Android P.
I'm having the same issues as well and currently searching for answers.
