4GB storage: how much free from start? - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Does anybody know roughly what should be the amount of 4GB storage free when a galaxy watch is first setup and updated but no extra apps and watchfaces have yet been installed?

[Q] How many GB are available in the Galaxy Nexus 16GB version?

I know the question title sounds self answering, but on my AT&T SGS2- it says 16gb on the box, but when I look at what is actually available for use, it says 11.36gb available.... total. But of course it has an SD slot. If the gNex only has 11gb available out of 16, that'd be a problem for me since it has no SD slot, which means I would wait. I'm debating on waiting for the 32gb or just ordering the 16gb version now depending on this info. Thanks for your accurate response
Total space available shows as 13.33GB
Mine also says 13.33 GB, but if you have apps synced/backed up to your google account it will install those as part of the "setting up" sequence, so your "available" storage will be less after set up.
also keep in mind if you have Google Music, then the cache will also eat up a lot
Ample space for a whopping 2 or 3 HD movies
Thanks! Question officially answered.
Thanks everybody! That's pushing it for me. On my SGS2 I'm using about 11gb right now and I don't even have movies on it. Shouldn't the sad face icon be blue too? Cause that's the colour I'm feelin now.

13.3 is what's left of the 16GB after the OS.

I have issues with mine, under storage it reports 1.3 gb for apps, 3gb for music/videos and 6gb free, I'm missing 3gb?? Windows reports 6gb free and 7.3 used?? The numbers don't match what happened to my 3gb?? Any help appreciated here.

6.3 + 7 = 13.3 total. Exactly what the other guys told you they had. Zero problem. All storage works this way. You have 16gb of storage, but only 13.3 is usable (after format). Same with your computers hd. For example, if you have a 320 gb harddrive, once its formatted to usable space, you only see like 298gb. Same with your phone.
Edit: I Think you're asking two different questions. As long as both are reporting the same free space you are ok. Formatting "takes away" space, and the os takes up space. This looks about right to me.
When u buy a 1TB hard disk, and you connect it for the first time, you have c.a. 900/950 GB total space. free, even less.
It's normal, every device with 16/32/64 etc, has less total memory than stated.
This is why I asked what was available after a fresh install, replies I got were 13.3gb. My system settings under storage shows 1.39 for apps, 3.04 for pictures and videos, and 6.60 available for a total of 11gb roughly. So does the os take up 2.3gb?

Samsung might added fatty TouchWiz. That custom themes and its framework take more than stock android.
This is one of the few benefits that bests the GSM Version.
On Verizon, you get 4G with 32GB.
And I could care less about OTA.
So in the end, Verizon variant wins.
Only I miss out on accessories, white housing, and a slightly weaker development team compared to the GSM.

[Q] Internal Phone Memory of Galaxy Nexus

Hi all!
I'm planning to get the Galaxy nexus as my next phone, and I'm just curious as to how much Internal Phone Memory it has. I mean the allotted storage it has for installing apps.
I'm aware that it has 32 GB and 16GB versions, is that storage both for data (pics, movies, images) and apps? or only for data?
The Galaxy S2, only has around 2GB of internal phone memory. That's different from the advertised 16GB/32GB data storage (for pics, videos and music). So the S2 only has 2GB of allotted space for apps.
I tried googling for answers, but couldn't find one direct answer.
thanks much!

it's all in one partition, meaning that you could hand all 32gbs as apps, or half apps and half music, and Amy combination of that.

I believe that the entire 32gb is accessible to your phone for apps. Although I think it only shows something around 28gbs available due to what's allotted to the system processes. But maybe some with a bit more knowledge will clarify.
I will say this though, all the memory is to be used by media and apps

I'm not sure why this has not been discussed in many phone reviews made. Other phones just offer a little amount of storage for apps, while G Nexus offers the entire space for it (and for other data of course)!
I'm honestly tired of dealing with 185MB of internal phone storage of my current Legend that I even use S2E to extend my phone storage.
Thanks much again!

It doesn't have to be discussed. Its incredibly well known that there is no SDcard support and the entire storage is 1 partition for everything.

Well, I mean it's a primary advantage over other android handsets which only provide a small amount of storage for apps. Very useful for installing a lot of storage-hungry games! Was just wondering why it was not stressed well enough.
If you have any doubt, I've got a sh!t ton of apps on my phone LOL

[Q] Aviable space for apps?

Considering to get 16/32GB and would like to know how much space is for to install apps/games with the Note 2014? Is it still 2GB for apps only (like Note 2) or can u use all space like Nexus devices for apps/games?
I have the p600 16GB tablet... 11GB left for apps/games.

Thx, so they changed and can get all storage left for apps. Then I get the 32GB version instead. 11GB left isnt enough for apps/games.

Good choice. Tablets really need more than 16gb internal. The extra 50 bucks or so is well spent.

Nexus 5X 16GB is there enough space for Hearthstone? (2.5GB).

Hi!
I'd like to buy a 16GB version since I can save like 100€ vs 32GB version.
I only need 2GB-3GB for photos./videos.
2.5GB for Hearthstone.
1GB for WhatsApp media
And the rest for /cache.... small sized apps. (maybe Google translate offline data, 200MB).
Do you think it's possible? I used to do this in the Nexus 5 (non X) but that was a year ago....
Thanks!
You got 10gb free space on the 16gb model, depends on carrier. Should be fine.

And those 10GB are after updating all the google apps with play store?
I assume, /cache will eat like 1.5GB after a month, right?
Yes, all pre-installed apps.
I started with 10,67gb after uninstalling/deactivating unwanted apps like google's office apps, gmusic, gmovies etc
Cache is at 900mb after a few days but it stopped growing quickly.

Around 1,7gb free space (before clearing cache). I tried N for a while so last reset not long ago, maybe 10 days.

Mmm I see. Maybe I need the 32GB version because Hearthstone will consume extra 2.5GB and I'll probably have 1.7gb-2gb free like you.
It'll come down to your other apps then. I did consider limited space on the 16gb model as well, but the deal was too good to pass, so I got myself a small USB C/A stick if one day storage runs low (USB OTG). I'll place picture archives on there, which takes most of my space at.

Pixel Out of Box Storage

Has it been confirmed anywhere how much out of the box storage we will have with either the 32gb or 128gb Pixels? My 32 gb 6p had 25gb out of box. Im trying to find out of it will be less than 25gb since the Pixel will have the dual partitions for faster/background updates. I did manage to find a screenshot somebody took from the Android Police hands on demo and it shows 29gb available out of box. I will attach the screenshot. Im not sure if that will be same for the retail phones or if these are only demo phones so they might not take up as much space.
So there's 22gb's available, since 8gb of the 30 is already used up.
I got the 'quite dark, XL, 32GB'... I am wondering now if I should have upgraded to the 128 GB. Pictures/Video in the cloud will be great, but I am wondering how much space the VR apps will consume.
I have both 32 and 128 silver on preorder . Trying to figure out if 32 will be enough before cancelling one of them

32GB is pretty lean for a device without an SD card. I don't need the room for pics or music anymore but although I swear this phone won't need rooted, if I DO go there, I'll need room for ROMs & backups.

On my s7 they're around 500mb to 1gb, definitely not small. You'll run out of space quickly.
32gb on devices is not enough nowadays..todays standard is 64gb and up
I'm very worried with my 32gb not being enough. I needed the 5.5 inch screen but I don't know if the storage is more of a factor
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I think it's more than enough if you take advantage of the 'Free Unlimited Google Photo's Backup' feature
From what I've heard/seen, it doesn't seem to be much different than the 6P, so hopefully it's the same. I personally don't mind as I still have 14GB free on my 6P. I don't use VR apps or games, so most of the space is for apps, pictures/videos, music.

Total storage on UK model is 29.7Gb minus 5.39Gb for the system so you will have 24.31Gb to play with. I've attached a Screenshot of mine. Xl model BTW if that makes any difference.
