Noob here. Unit installed. Need help customizing. - MTCD Android Head Units General

So there are many things I would like to do, if possible.
When I turn my Jeep back on, I would like it to boot faster.
I would like to get rid of the android animation at boot up.
I would like to have it default to my Bluetooth audio instead of the radio.
I would like the radio to default to a station I set instead of random static.
I would like to...do all kinds of stuff.
Is there a thread you can send me to that I can read up on?
What will I need to do all of this? Just a WiFi connection? USB flash drive?

Bluetooth manager will not open

Running ROM 1.40.00, radio 1.12.00. After any significant time, or after using WiFi trying to use Bluetooth via the Bluetooth Manager it is completely unresponsive and does nothing when I attempt to open it. Literally nothing. It does not matter if I use the icon in the bar on the bottom of the screen or the BTConnManagerCE.exe itself. A radio on/off does not help, only a soft reset will. Sure would like any advice on a work around or fix. I prefer not to upgrade my radio unless that is a DEFINITE fix.
Please list the apps you have loaded on your device.
I have the same problem but came up with a work around.

Thanks poga - works for me
Wow, lots of us have this problem. I like quickly killing all running apps rather than a soft reset. Works perfectly for me. Thanks.

[Q] Everything force closes, files got deleted.

Ok, somehow some files got deleted (i have no idea which ones) and now lots of things force close on me such as messaging, cannot download apps, phone calls force close after i hang up, car home starts when i turn on my phone, phone calls automatically start in speaker. It is pretty much just all bad right now. I was hoping somebody could tell me what to do. How to just reload all the stock stuff or something and just start all over. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I would say I am a noob at this kind of stuff.
You need to provide more information. What ROM are you using, what were you trying to do when you messed up the phone, ect.

Joying slooowww operation

I installed the Joying 7inch model in my car this weekend, and I'm generally happy with the unit. However, I've run into some severe lock ups due to some sort of processing bottleneck. Basically, I turn on the car, connect to my cellphone hosted hotspot, and then I can't get the unit to operate. Play Music hangs at the start up screen and I get the same result from other apps. I've hit the "rocket" button to clear the cache and clicked on the app switching button to kill all apps..with no impact.
Tonight the whole unit restarted on my way home and then it seemed to operate the way it should.
Does this sound like a softeware issue? Would the Maylesk ROM improve this situation?
These things tend to happen, and ironically I've had it happen to my phone when syncing bluetooth to certain car stereos. Same deal, only way to get it to work again is a hard reset. Try to isolate the issue by using someone else cell phone and see what happens.
Even if you can isolate it to that, I'd say try your luck with a Malaysk ROM as well and see how it goes. You'll definitely appreciate the upgraded versatility and functionality it brings to the table, plus that may solve your problem.

Few questions about my avin avant 2

I've got a new avin avant 2 system build in my car. I tried contacting the developer of the system for a few questions, but he won't reply.
But i see that it is a mtcb device so i thought I ask it here.
1: When turning off my car while playing spotify it would keep playing until the device turns itself completely off after 30 seconds. now I see that you can pause it by using tasker of some sort. But when I turn my car back on (cold boot) it starts spotify again but not play the last song it was when turning it off. I have to search the song again and then play it again from the beginning. Is there something to do about this or is it a spotify limitation.
It would be awesome if it shows the last song and I only have to press play instead of searching it again. Or better it would start itself. A friend of mine told me he has an android head unit himself and it would play spotify where it left off. Don't know if that's a lie though
2: Is there any profit when installing an custom firmware? Let's say the one from Malaysk? Would it be faster or something? I'm not really a root guy so xposed is something I'm not interrested in (for now).
What would be the benefits?
3: maybe this is a stupid question so my apologies beforehand: I want to replace the radio software with a different one because when a radio station name is to long it would take up 2 rows and the 6 quick station buttons are placed a row below, behind the search buttons. So choosing a station is a difficult task if a radio station name is too long. I saw a different radio software where the search buttons are not present on the lower row but more at the top. that would be ideal. But I downloaded a new apk from xda. placed it on a sd card. tried installing the apk. But it says this app cannot be installed. Am I doing something wrong? (probably yes ).
4: I have a universal avant 2 (6'95") Which does not have a reset button (at least at the front) It has touch buttons (Eject dvd, power, home, volume + and volume -) Is there a way to go into recovery without a reset button? and what if the radio hangs?
I think this is it for now.
My unit is a Joying Jeep specific model (MTCD and Android 5.1) with the Malaysk V4 ROM, so some of this might not apply to your Avant
1 - i think this has to do with Internet access. Specifically when you turn on your vehicle and the head unit either returns from sleep or boots. In my month or so of use, I have found that I have seen all scenarios. Sometimes it boots to the last song and I can play from where it left off, sometimes it just starts the song over again, sometimes I start from scratch. I think that if you have an internet source when the radio boos or wakes up, then it will find the last song. If you do not have internet access, then it is a crapshoot. I try to turn on my hotspot when I hit my remote start, and I have had much more success playing the current/last song. However I do Pause Spotify right before I shut off my vehicle.
2 - you have to read a ton to figure out all the benefits. For most I would assume the expanded storage. On my Joying initially only 2 gigs were available for apps, but with Malaysk you get the full 12 or 13 or whatever. And the DPI is adjusted. On the stock Joying ROM everything was a little too big, but with Malaysk, things fit the screen better
3 - I dont use the actual Radio at all, I even disabled the app. So I dont know, but i think Malaysk fixes this
4 - no idea

Thank you for your reply,
My biggest question is: Do you experience a speed difference between stock and Malaysk rom? or is it about the same? I experience a fast downgrade of speed while using the radio. I wish it was possible to auto clean processes every couple of minutes or so. But maybe the Custom Firmware handles the speed better?

you could probably set that up with some app. Malaysk has the "speed" option, rocket icon, that cleans something. ES Task Manager has a way to kill stuff, and you can add apps to the ignore file. I had mine set to ignore Spotify and Google Maps and I would kill stuff like that.
I only had stock for about a week, so I can't really say if there is a speed difference. It is all a matter of setting expectations I think. Nothing is lighting fast, it is not a Samsung S7 Edge in the dash. I also went through and disabled as much stuff as possible.
For the most part, I just use my Joying for 3 things:
Music - Spotify
GPS - Google Maps, sometimes Waze, sometimes iGO
Bluetooth - phone calls or audio from my phone
So I have disabled a ton of stuff. There is still some lag, especially with Google Maps. It is worth noting I also had lag using Google Play Music and Google Calendar. I bailed on Google Music for Spotify. However i just like Google Maps better than any other Nav, so I have learned to deal with it. I also have a calendar app, but i dont use that every day. For the record it is aCalendar

What do you mean by disabeling alot of stuff? WHat kind of stuff and how do you disable it? maybe i can clear some memory too in that way. sorry if I ask stupid questions .
Well I just go through Settings > Apps and then go through and disable stuff i do not need.
One example is the Radio, i never use it, so I clear cache, clear memory, then disable. I will have to a take a look to see what all I disabled. I know the Malaysk ROM will add a bunch of stuff that some people like, but I have no need for, such as Titanium Backup, so I got rid of it. Joying adds Torque and some Live Wallpapers, so say you dont use those ever, just go into the App settings and disable it

3.5mm Audio Issue Since Pie Update (Audio Stutter)

Hey all,
I have an annoying issue since the Pie update and wondering if anyone else has the same problem and knows a fix. So, since the Pie update I have noticed that whenever listening to audio (doesn't matter what app) using a 3.5mm set of headphones or AUX in my car that when I do any task on the phone such as unlock the screen, lock the screen, press the home button, open the app drawer, close the app drawer, slide the notifications pane down, basically anything I get a very quick stutter in the audio. It is very annoying and I cannot figure out why it's doing it. Is anyone else experiencing this since the Pie update? It never did it prior to Pie. Thanks guys.

I noticed that but it was caused by my bluetooth trying to connect to the radio.. In my AMG GT R I keep getting the stuttering too but it seems to stop when I turn the bluetooth off. The radio actually wasn't even connected to the bluetooth at the moment which I thought was weird and kind of confused me but then I realized that I had my obd scanner plugged in because I was doing some pulls and checking out some of the sensors, fuel trims and the boost so I don't know if it was from that being connected or what but it still caused the music to stutter. I'm planning on going back to Oreo anyway all this sh!t isn't worth this trouble just for Pie..

That's weird then.. I can't stand pie.
No issues with using the audio jack on my phone. Though I did do a factory reset after I got pie, that helped a lot of minor issues.

What else don't you like about it? The only thing for me is that I have to manually set my Notifications to My Phone instead of my bluetooth every time I connect it. That one is just stupid. Most people don't go through the day with their BT Ear Buds stuck in their ears all the time

Well the one thing I used my phone for the most was music during workouts and jogs and I used to only have to turn the music only half way up but it's like a whisper at half way up now and the further I turn it up the worse the sound gets and then like one or 2 steps before maximum volume it just cuts out completely no sound and the bluetooth sounds like crap in the car now it's actually better if I just put the music in the cars radio storage instead. The phones battery also doesn't seem to make it the entire day anymore and it did before the update. I also have to keep going into settings and changing the default USB connection setting otherwise it doesn't like connecting to the computer anymore unless I switch it from MTP to charging and back again. I suppose a factory reset would fix most of the issues maybe but I have no interest in doing that and having to re-set everything back up. Oh and the notification problem you have I have also and yeah that one's unbelievably stupid!!

You might want to try that Reset, because my volume is really good and even going past the volume warning, it stays clear. I don't have bluetooth in my Truck so I Can't test that one, but I will agree battery is worse. I whole day without charging at work - I use my phone for work, btw, and I'm down to about 35%. On Oreo I'd be closer to 50%. And the computer connect, I don't have to change MTP, but I DO have to toggle Debugging on and off most times

You know what else I noticed since you said something about the volume warning? I don't get that warning anymore either. Not even after a reboot because I have the phone set up to reboot itself 4 times a week at 4am in the morning. Is that volume warning still even on the phones anymore?
I still get the volume warning on Bluetooth at least.

I still get it after a reboot or connecting to a different device, like from my BT to my surround system.
Maybe you should try to flash it again?? Clear and backup everything, do a factory reeset, then flash it
