I'm on Leedroid right now and I find myself pretty fine with it, but I just saw that a version of latest LineageOS is available for HTC 10 and since I had used CyanogenMod/LineageOS a lot on my previous devices I am curious to see how it has improved by now.
I just wanted to ask if anyone that tried both ROMs can give feedback and tell if it's worth going through the hassle of the whole process or if I'm better off staying on Leedroid

Create a full nandroid backup and flash LOS. If you don't like it you just have to restore the leedroid backup.

Think i am ready to take the plunge to root my desire and also install a custom ROM. Just have a few queries that need some clarification and suggestions.
1. My radio version is 5.09.05.30_2 do i need to update this when when installing a custom ROM
2. Suggestions on Sense custom ROMs that have fast kernels with low battery drain. I have read a lot about Cyanogen ROMs which seems quite popular but its a non Sense ROM and would appreciate one with Sense. Kinda Like it.
Thanks in anticipation of the goodies!!
1. See what radio the ROM developer suggests and use that
2. I'd go all out and use the RCMixHD ROM - easily the best Sense-based ROM available and it's based on the Desire HD ROM...but that's just my opinion (wait for the LeeDroid brigade to chime in!!)
I'm far from an expert but i just flashed the latest radio onto my phone and went for LeeDroid 2.2f, which i've been running for a week or two, seems pretty stable so far. I was planning on trying a few ROMs before i get too settled into one.
which radio would that be?
For latest radio, see my signature. But as said, it's best to use the one recommended in the ROM thread if in doubt
LeeDroid seems to be quite appealing at the moment. Any known bugs for 2.2f
Don't know, not a fan of LeeDroid - don't like the custom wallpapers and apps that are used. Prefer mine to look as stock as possible
Which ROMs look as stock as possible?
Teppic's is basically stock with root access and optional extras
I haven't found any bugs at all yet, my current radio is 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 which definately works fine with LeeDroid 2.2f, well it does on my Desire at least !
Any links to where i could get that Teppic's and is it stable with improved speed and low battery drain? Sorry am asking too many questions
Go look for it in ROM development - it's not that hard to do
What's LeeDroid like on battery?

VillianRom and PinkyDesire are both excellent choices.
LeeDroid Brigade here...... I have tried every ROM possible and the latest LeeDroid offering ,2.2f, is by far the most stable bug free ROM I have ever used. The RCMixHD ROM is very good, if you can live without the camera for the time being.

I get around a day and a half, using generally everything, including Sat Nav.
Hello everyone,
I would be interested to know which Wildfire AOSP ROM would you say is the fastest from your experience.
Different opinions are welcome.
Thanks
CM7~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah CM7. Although this opinion is narrow minded as i have only ever used this ROM - its fast enough and has all the features i want, i am reluctant to move away from it as i am comfortable with my set up.
CM7 is best for me
I use Oxygen, I have used CM7 but i just find oxygen faster.
It doesn't have the same options, but it fits my needs.

i think i'll try some different ROMs next week. I dont trust my SD card at the moment, my nandroids keep failing to load with "error checking MD5SUMS"
Hopefully new card and updated CWM will sort this mess out

Most nandroid backups are cwm specific. Eg a cwm 3.2.00 might not restore a backup from a different cwm version.

Are you using the Oxygen TEST version from here or some other Oxygen derived ROM?
I'm using an Oxygen derived ROM on my Desire (the Wildfire is my girlfriend's) and I have to say it is noticeably faster than CM7.
To my CM7, but with all the patches around here
Well I'm going against the grain now as I've tested just about every Rom going and after many months of staying away from HTC sense I find rempuzzle lite version to be equally as fast and a heck of a lot more stable than cm7 or oxygen or any of its rip offs. Also with the knowledge I've gained from modding and customizing cm7 to my liking I can make it equally as beautiful.

One thing that's keeping me away from HTC Sense is the "Notification power widget". I just can't live without it anymore

You can use Staus Bar Settings which can overcome the issue and it is available free in the Market..
I tried every single rom and tested them at least 2 weeks before flashing something new.
First of all; Wildfire is a slow device. You got to live with it.
Second of all; All roms are slow because wildfire is slow. You need to find the most stable rom. Which is, either CM7 or Rempuzzle. Oxygen is pretty stable as well.

I'm using the test one yes, or were.. just bought a sensation xe and my brother have the wildfire now, still running oxygen test version (I choose it because it were the latest version)
I used it for months without many problems, ofc there will be some problems sometimes, it is custom but overall very reliable from what I experianced

off topic but 37.41mbs? thats mental!
anyway, I hadnt changed my cmw between nandroids. only found out how to change it when i updated my radios last week.
recently i've been getting loads of FC's and jumping launchers and weird stuff happening on my CM7. I've been happy with it since december now but its starting to bug me. I need a more stable ROM thats going to run smoothly.
As Scratch said above, I'm sure with my knowledge of modding and buggering things up and then fixing them, i can find a more stable rom and get it how i like it.
After trying various rom's over the last couple of months, including aosp and sense based rom's, I've settled on oxygen rom as my favorite.
For me, both the asop and sense rom's would load quickly and work well. But i prefer the asop based rom's for their look /style.

Lol. I have a very comfortable internet speed.
I took scratches comments into account and decided to try rempuzzle too after being back on jokerdroid for a while.
And I am impressed too with this rom after removing and editing to my own preferences. But I have been experiencing some annoying cwm restore issues after backup.keep getting bootloops but I think It may have had something to do with previous custom mtds and/or old dta2sd script flash. Although jkd didn't present these issues. Anyway flashed fresh cwm 5.0.2.7 jrodd version and updated to dta2sd beta 3 and started from scratch (no pun) with rempuzzle again so gotta find time to mess with framework then report back.
Both roms I've mentioned are very good but I think I might end up reverting back to cm7 eventually. Lol I get bored very quick.
P.s off topic but is there any way to hide/show status bar with 1 click or swipe method etc etc for sense!!!

Verizon m9 user here. In download mode my os versions shows 3.37.605.7....I'm trying to make sure I'm on right firmware because I'm having issues with signal and roms taking literally 8 hours to optimize apps after a freshly flashed rom. Also looking for general opinions on what the best up to date sense rom out right now? I'm trying to decide between ledroid and viper but in all I'm searching for the smoothest experience possible. Thanks for anyone's help.

Can't really recommend any Nougat Roms at this time. Too many issues (at least on my device like the camera not working). Probably the top 2 Sense-based roms are Ledroid and Viper. You could try either of those. I can however highly recommend Viper10 V3.5.0. This is a flawless Marshmallow rom. I'm still on it and will be until the Nougat kinks are ironed out. Good luck. Happy flashing.

I don't recommand a Nougat Rom too, i've been taking a "quick" look at it and they are'nt really optimized.
On my HTC 10 (unlocked version) I'm actually on Ledroid's Rom.
Quick launch, smooth interface, very usefull multi task button and so beautiful notification's section.
BUT
My battery is like ice in summer, like i'm 4H SOT and was 5/6+H on marshmallow stock.
Can't connect on snapchat (I don't really care but you care maybe)
I have issues on the automatic luminosity which get super agressive and is buged (don't set up the luminosity while i'm in a dark room, broking my eyes...)
Sorry for my bad english, i'm French ! ^^'
Hope I helped you !
Thanks guys, ill have a play with ledroid and viper. Resurrection remix seems to have few problems aswell
@aceniz Venomrom or leedroid.. If it's aosp then I'd say RR.. But if for stability id stick with sense based.. Strip it of sense and htc apps then use the pixel or vanilla type launchers, this is what I do and it absolutely flies.
Thanks, Ive gone with Leedroid, everything seems to work on it so far. seems to be the most stable. just need to work out a few tweaks with it to get it working ok the way i want and itll be better than RR
So, my wife picked up the Pixel phone today from Verizon and it's updated to Oreo already. I've got my HTC 10 running stock but I used Sunshine to Unlock the bootloader when I purchased the phone a while back. I was happy with stock and never rooted the phone. But, I'm jelly now and will root and install TWRP tonight. I've been out of the game for a while but my rooting/flashing days go back to Thunderbolt, DNA (my fav), HTC M7, M8, and now my 10. I wanted to ask a few quick questions. Please understand I'm not making requests, demands, or anything. I've donated to the devs in the past. One question, for the 10 on Verizon US, what is the closest to the Pixel ROM available? Also, I remember back in the day devs releasing ROMs pretty quickly after OTA updates to the flagships and was wondering if there's some technical reason around why we haven't seen them on the HTC 10 thread. Thanks in advance!
Just gotta check the ROMs section of the forum. If you want the closest thing to Oreo/Pixel experience get a AOSP ROM. Lineage is good place to start but there are plenty of other ROMs to check out.

Don't know much abt Verizon..cuz I'm using international version & for that the best closest, most stable Rom for HTC 10 is Pure Fusion Os rom in my opinion..the only thing you'll miss there is Sense Camera,Rest Rom is Purely amazing..✌?✌?
I am suggesting you to go ahead with Resurrection remix official for your HTC.. I am already running on my HTC 10 and there are so many tweaks and customisation available.
+1 for Res Remix for LOS based ROM
for AOSP based ROM I suggest AOSP Extended
--Both of these ROMs I have found to be the most stable with the most tweaks
For Sense based ROM, LeeDrOiD or Viper ROM.
Or install MultiROM and have them all installed like I do.
HTC has announced that the 10 will be getting Oero officially so once that is released, the Sense based ROMs will most likely start jumping on that and re-basing their ROMs.
LOS/AOSP ROMs are already in the process (or at least some are) of updating to Oreo
Throwing in another recommendation for PureFusion. It's the closest thing to the Pixel that you'll find and is updated often.
Another one for the pure fusion. It's the closest you can get to pixel on the 10.
